Abstract

Background: The low level of literacy and numeracy among primary school students in Indonesia highlights the need for contextual and engaging learning media that reflect local culture. Conventional teaching methods often fail to capture students’ interest and do not integrate local wisdom effectively. Aim: This research aims to develop and test an interactive animation-based learning media using Central Kalimantan folktales to enhance students’ literacy and numeracy skills in primary education. Method: The study employs a research and development (R&D) approach by designing, validating, and testing a digital prototype that combines animation, narration, and interactivity. Expert validation was conducted to refine the prototype, followed by pilot testing in selected partner schools in Central Kalimantan. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and learning assessments, and analyzed descriptively to evaluate the media’s effectiveness in improving learning outcomes. Results and Discussion: The results indicate that the interactive animation media successfully increased students’ engagement and motivation, leading to higher literacy and numeracy achievement compared to traditional learning tools. Teachers reported that the integration of local folktales provided meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences while reinforcing students’ cultural identity. The discussion emphasizes the potential of culturally grounded digital media to support the thematic learning approach in the Merdeka Curriculum and contribute to the preservation of local culture. Conclusion: The research concludes that the developed interactive animation learning media based on Central Kalimantan folktales is effective in enhancing primary school students’ literacy and numeracy skills. It also demonstrates significant potential for large-scale implementation, commercialization, and collaboration with the creative industry, reaching Technology Readiness Level 5 as a foundation for sustainable dissemination.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan akan instrumen penilaian yang mampu mengukur hasil belajar IPAS secara komprehensif sesuai karakteristik materi yang bersifat terpadu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji kualitas instrumen tes model checkbox ditinjau dari aspek validitas, reliabilitas, dan kepraktisan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 26 siswa pada uji coba terbatas dan 65 siswa pada uji coba diperluas, serta melibatkan tiga guru dalam penilaian kepraktisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen memiliki validitas teoretis dengan skor rata-rata 3,7 (kategori sangat layak), validitas empiris yang meningkat setelah revisi hingga 30 dari 35 butir soal dinyatakan valid, reliabilitas tinggi dengan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,82, serta tingkat kepraktisan sebesar 97,8% (kategori sangat praktis). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen tes model checkbox konsisten, mudah digunakan, dan efektif untuk penilaian pembelajaran IPAS. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada penggunaan format multiple-response (checkbox) yang memungkinkan lebih dari satu jawaban benar dalam satu butir soal, sehingga memberikan penilaian yang lebih akurat dan diagnostik. Instrumen ini berkontribusi sebagai alternatif penilaian IPAS yang lebih komprehensif di sekolah dasar

Abstract

Tujuan pelatihan yaitu untuk melatih calon guru yaitu mahasiswa program studi PGSD FKIP UMPR melalui tugas kelompok dapat secara mandiri membuat rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan modul ajar sesuai kurikulum yang berlaku di sekolah dasar baik untuk kelas rendah maupun kelas tinggi. Peserta pelatihan adalah mahasiswa prodi PGSD berjumlah 50 orang. Metode pelatihan yaitu mulai dari penentuan kelompok mengajar yang dibagi secara heterogen dan acak menjadi 13 kelompok terdiri dari 3 – 5 orang mahasiswa, kemudian diberikan materi pendalaman pembelajaran lanjutan dan RPP dan Modul Ajar. Kemudian, kelompok mengajar membuat draft RPP/Modul ajar sesuai Kurikulum yang berlaku di sekolah dasar dan pembelajaran mendalam, kemudian dipresentasikan untuk didiskusikan dan diberi masukkan. Pelaksanaan di ruang kelas FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya dan tempat lain yang representatif. Waktu pelatihan mengajar berdampak yaitu 120 menit.  Temuan pelatihan ini yaitu mahasiswa menghadapi masalah sebelum dan pada saat membuat rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran atau modul ajar yaitu mahasiswa kurang paham dengan kurikulum yang berlaku baik kurikulum tingkat satuan pendidikan (KTSP), kurikulum 2013 (K13), dan kurikulum merdeka (KM); mahasiswa kurang memahami langkah-langkah menyusun RPP secara sistematis atau modul ajar; dan mahasiswa kurang mengetahui komponen utama.

Abstract

Low mathematics learning outcomes at the junior high school level indicate that the learning media used are not yet contextualized to students’ local experiences. This research aimed to develop the JAHITAN Pocket Book, grounded in local wisdom, as a mathematics learning resource that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study applied an R&D method using the ADDIE framework, consisting of five sequential phases, i.e., analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants consisted of 17 ninth-grade students from SMP Negeri Satu Atap 2 Kuala Pembuang. The validation phase indicated that the product was highly feasible, receiving 100% from material experts, 80% from media experts, and 90% from language experts. The practicality assessment received an average of 96% from teachers and 87.18% from students, both of which were classified as very practical. Meanwhile, the effectiveness evaluation on cognitive outcomes reached 78%, supported by an N-Gain value of 0.78 in the high category. Non-cognitive aspects also showed effectiveness, with learning enthusiasm at 90%, activeness at 90.20%, and skills at 94.31%. These results indicated that the locally grounded Pocket Book JAHITAN is feasible to use as a mathematics learning medium that enhances students’ learning outcomes and character development.

Abstract

This research developed a digital authentic assessment instrument based on a project-based STEM approach to enhance scientific literacy among elementary school students. This study aimed to create an instrument that is valid, practical, and effective. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing the ADDIE model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and tests. The product’s practicality was assessed by media, evaluation, and material experts using closed questionnaires. Its effectiveness was measured via a pretest–posttest design conducted with small and large groups of students. A t-test and N-Gain analysis were used to evaluate the improvement of learning outcomes. The validation results were strong, with scores of 97% from the content expert, 94.5% from the assessment expert, and 95.5% from the media expert, indicating that the instrument was very valid. The practicality test also yielded a very practical score of 93% from student and teacher responses. For the effectiveness test, average scores increased from a pre-test of 58.2 to a post-test of 83.2, resulting in a medium N-Gain score of 0.59. This finding indicates that the use of the ‘MAHAGA’ digital authentic assessment is highly effective. These findings affirm ‘MAHAGA’ as a valid, practical, and effective instrument, offering a significant contribution to promoting scientific literacy in elementary education. This instrument offers a promising, innovative solution to advance science education at the elementary level, equip students with essential 21st-century skills, and support the development of a more adaptive, critical, and innovative generation.

Abstract

 In harmony with an environment rich in local wisdom, the environment also needs to be utilized as a source and medium for learning, because the learning process involves seeing, observing, and experiencing, so that students can understand things that exist in real life. The changing educational paradigm demands the use of teaching materials that are contextual, meaningful, and relevant to students' lives. This study aims to describe the implementation of the local teaching material "Lauk Murik" in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Kuluk Talawang. The use of this teaching material was developed as an effort to integrate the local cultural context into learning, thereby increasing student engagement and strengthening conceptual understanding. The subject of this reserach was 31 students with 16 male and 15 female. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the "Lauk Murik" teaching material can enhance learning activities, facilitating students' understanding of IPAS concepts related to food, natural resources, and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the integration of local cultural values ​​makes learning more relevant and meaningful. This study recommends the further development of local wisdom-based teaching materials in the IPAS subject in elementary schools

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate the feasibility of the MARIBANG Pop-Up Book as an innovative learning medium for seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Sampit. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were 36 seventh-grade students, while the object of the research was the MARIBANG Pop-Up Book learning media. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, student and teacher response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-gain analysis to measure improvements in students’ learning outcomes. The results indicated that the MARIBANG Pop-Up Book demonstrated a very high level of validity based on evaluations from material, media, and language experts. In terms of practicality, both students and teachers gave very positive responses, indicating that the media was easy to use and engaging in classroom learning. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the media was confirmed by a significant increase in students’ learning outcomes, as reflected in the N-gain scores and classical learning completeness. These findings suggest that the MARIBANG Pop-Up Book is a valid, practical, and effective learning medium. This study highlights the potential of pop-up book–based media to enhance student engagement and learning achievement, and provides practical implications for the development of interactive instructional media in junior high school education.
