Abstract

The publication end of print media certainly remains some serious problems. First, the termination of employment for media workers. The layoff may target the workers who operate machines and or workers at the circulation section. The publication end of Republika print media has caused more than 200 people out of work. Of course, this is not a small number. In fact, the laid-off workers should hold and fulfill their family life needs. This means that there will be an extraordinary upheaval for media workers when the print newspaper edition closes. Second, the end of newspaper print editions causes many newspaper peddlers/sellers to be unemployed. This is a very sorry situation as they belong to low-income people who must lose their job. Their income is highly dependent on how many copies of the newspaper are sold. The sales of print newspapers are not profitable. When fewer print newspapers are in circulation and the people purchasing power is small, the more painful the life of newspaper sellers will be.

Abstract

Although it is difficult for the press to move away from many interests, the breath of news should continue to be on a footing of truth and humanity. This breath can guarantee an upright democracy, as one of the functions of the press is the fourth pillar of democracy. However, if the press continues to be in the shadow of certain political parties and candidates, this will alarm the growth and development of a dignified life. The press, which should be a torch of civilization, has instead become a mouthpiece for specific political forces. The power of the press should be for the benefit of life, not just to satisfy the thirst for power seekers.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara pemahaman literasi digital dan tingkat kompetensi literasi digital pada mahasiswa S1 Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan teknik product  moment dan metode survey. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2018/2019, di Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta dengan jumlah sampel yang terpilih adalah 394 mahasiswa dari populasi 22.463 mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta angkatan 2013-2018 dengan menggunakan metode Non probability sampling dan quota sampling. Hasil pengukuran mengenai tingkat pemahaman literasi digital mahasiswa S1 Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, menunjukkan kategori pemahaman sedang dengan skor rata-rata 3,17, sedangkan hasil pengukuran terhadap tingkat kompetensi literasi digital mahasiswa S1 Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta menunjukkan kategori sedang dengan skor rata-rata 3,97. Hasil uji korelasi product moment yang dilakukan dengan aplikasi SPSS 2.2 menunjukkan adanya hubungan linier positif antara pemahaman literasi digital dan tingkat kompetensi literasi digital pada mahasiswa S1 Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 26,4 %, dan dimana sejumlah 73,6 % nilai korelasi yang dipengaruhi oleh variabel-variabel lain yang tidak dibahas dalam penelitian ini. This study aimed to determine the relationship between understanding digital literacy and the level of digital literacy competency among undergraduate students at Yogyakarta State University. The method of research used was correlational  quantitative with product moment techniques and survey methods. This research  was  conducted  in  the  even semester  of  the  2018/2019  school  year,  at Yogyakarta State University with total samples selected was 394 students from a population of 22,463 students of Yogyakarta State University class of 2013-2018. The measurement results regarding the level of digital literacy understanding of S1 students of Yogyakarta State University showed a moderate understanding category with an average score of 3.17, while the results of measurements of the level of digital literacy competence of S1 Yogyakarta State University students showed a moderate category with an average score of 3.97 . The results of the product moment correlation test conducted with the application of SPSS 2.2 showed a positive linear relationship between understanding digital literacy and  the level of  digital  literacy  competency among undergraduate  students at  Yogyakarta State University, with a correlation  value of 26,4 %, and where 73,6 % value of the correlation  with variables else not included in this discuss.

Abstract

Media as a medium of construing discourse, for example a dominant figure religion. In Islam the ideal muslim shown by the media that has a role as a medium for forming new ideologies in religious aspects. This research aims to explore the ideal Muslim discourse on the Instagram social media account @ukhtiakhiantiselfie. This research uses a qualitative method with content analysis in the form of Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis and focuses on the level of text presented in the content on the Instagram social media account @ukhtiakhiantiselfie. To find out the extent of the truth of the research, the author uses data validity techniques in the form of triangulation of data sources. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques consist of data selection, interpretation and interpretation of the text, data presentation and discussion, to draw conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the ideology constructed in the Instagram account @ukhtiakhiantiselfie is in the form of a ban on uploading photos to social media for men (muslimin) and women (muslimah). In addition, there is an ideal Muslim standard for Muslims, namely individuals who do not upload photos of themselves, achievements, possessions, and others to the public via social media. Meanwhile, the discourse that is presented refers to the ideal Muslim character according to Hamka in the form of istiqomah, namely showing firm actions towards the establishment and carrying out the commands of Allah SWT and avoiding His prohibitions. The results of this research show that the ideology constructed in the Instagram account @ukhtiakhiantiselfie is a prohibition on uploading photos to social media for men (Muslims) and women (Muslimah). Apart from that, there is an ideal Muslim standard for Muslims, namely individuals who do not upload photos of themselves, their achievements, possessions and so on to the public via social media. Abstract

This research is motivated by the emergence of various acts of violence in the name of religion, especially Islam, which have disturbed society and the state. One form of acts of violence is based on narrow religious thoughts which ultimately lead to radical actions. This research aims to counter-narrate religious radicalism through mosque-based Islamic education as joint efforts to build inclusive religiosity in Indonesia. This study is a qualitative research in the form of case stury. The location of this study is Batam City, Riau Islands. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and focus group discussion (FGD) techniques and is assisted with documentation. Data analysis uses interactive analysis techniques. The results of the research found a formulation of mosque-based Islamic education in Batam City which was attempted by Islamic leaders and figures who are members of an organization called the Persatuan Muballigh Batam (Batam Muballigh Association), Nahdlatul Ulama, and Muhammadiyah. It is through Islamic education that religious (Islamic) activities in Batam City have been successfully controlled, especially through maximizing the role of the mosque as the center of Islamic education so as to ensure the implementation of moderate and tolerant Islamic teachings. This research also found a counter-narrative formulation of religious radicalism in order to build a civilized and inclusive Muslim society in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui manajemen media komunitas Sleman Football. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah web media komunitas Sleman Football. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik keabsahan data yang digunakan adalah triangulasi sumber. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah milik Miles Huberman yang terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa (1) Pada tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tujuan awal sudah terealisasi dengan baik, hal ini terlihat dari terlaksana tujuan pelayanan dan tujuan personal Sleman Football. (2) Tahap pengorganisasian, Sleman Football telah membentuk divisi kerja untuk memudahkan produksi konten sesuai bidang kerja. (3) Tahap pengarahan pada komuitas Sleman Football adalah komunikasi lewat rapat rutin setiap hari Selasa dan motivasi untuk berkontribusi bagi PSS Sleman menjadi hal yang berpengaruh bagi kinerja anggota. (4) Tahap pengawasan pada dilakukan terhadap konten artikel oleh pemimpin redaksi sebelum diunggah ke web. (5) Proses pembuatan program pada media komunitas Sleman Football dimulai dari mengelola produksi, mempromosikan hasil, manajemen keuangan, mengelola manusia dilakukan dalam sistem kerja yang terkoordinasi.

Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan tingkat engagement ditinjau dari reply, retweet, dan likes pada tipe post Twitter. Sebagai penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode pengujian hipotesis ex post facto, penelitian ini memiliki 3021 sumber data post. Penetapan sumber data mengacu pada kebijakan Work From Home (WFH) 16 Maret - 29 Mei 2020, melalui pernyataan resmi Dwi Wahyu Atmaji selaku Sekretaris Kementerian PANRB yang telah dipertimbangkan terhadap Keppres Nomor 11 dan 12 Tahun 2020. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tipe post pada foto dan video ditinjau dari reply dengan nilai signifikasi 0,013; retweet 0,000; likes 0,003. 2) Tingkat engagement tipe post foto lebih besar daripada video ditinjau dari reply, retweet, likes. 3) Terdapat perbedaan yang siginifikan antara tipe post foto dan GIF ditinjau dari reply dengan nilai signifikasi 0,013; retweet 0,000; likes 0,003. 4) Tingkat engagement tipe post foto lebih besar dari GIF ditinjau dari reply, retweet, likes. 5) Tidak ada perbedaan antara tipe post video dan GIF ditinjau dari reply dengan nilai signifikasi 1,000; retweet 1,000; likes 1,000. 6) Tipe post video dan GIF memiliki tingkat engagement yang sama baik ditinjau dari reply, retweet, likes. This study aims to determine the comparison level of engagement in terms of replies, retweets, and likes on types of Twitter posts. As quantitative research on using ex post facto method of hypothesis testing, this study has 3021 data sources post. The determination of the data source refers to the policy of Work From Home (WFH) March 16 - May 29 2020, through an official statement by Dwi Wahyu Atmaji as Secretary of the Ministry of PANRB which has been considered against Presidential Decrees No. 11 and 12 of 2020. The results showed that: 1) There was a significant difference between types of posts in the photo and videos in terms of replies with a significance value of 0,013; retweets 0,000; likes 0,003. 2) The level of engagement of types post photo is greater than videos in terms of replies, retweets, and likes. 3) There was a significant difference between types of posts in the photo and GIF in terms of replies with a significance value of 0,013; retweets 0,000; likes 0,003. 4) The level of engagement of types post photo is greater than GIF in terms of replies, retweets, and likes. 5) There is no difference between types of post in the videos and GIF in terms of replies with a significance value of 1,000; retweets 1,000; likes 1,000. 6) Types post videos and GIF have the level of engagement same in terms of replies, retweets, likes.

Abstract

 Tujuan  penelitian  ini untuk: (1) mengetahui pengungkapan privasi Billy Syahputra di YouTube, (2) menganalisis fenomena keterbukaan privasi khususnya di media sosial YouTube channel Billy Syahputra, (3) bagaimana self disclosure Billy Syahputra, dimensi, fungsi, dan tujuan yang terjadi pada akun YouTube channel Billy Syahputra. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian  analisis wacana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: keterbukaan informasi pada media sosial YouTube menjadikan Billy Syahputra lebih nyaman untuk terbuka mengenai dirinya dan  menjadi tempat untuk mengekspresikan diri. Dimensi atau aturan dalam pengungkapan diri yang terjadi oleh Billy Syahputra berkaitan dengan aspek frekuensi (tingkat keseringan) dan durasi (lama akses) yang dibutuhkan untuk mengungkapkan diri terus meningkat seiring dengan kebutuhan Billy untu k mencari followers/subscriber. The purpose of this study is to: (1) determine Billy Syahputra's privacy disclosure on YouTube, (2) analyze the phenomenon of privacy disclosure on social media Billy Syahputra's YouTube channel, (3) how to express Billy Syahputra's self-disclosure, dimensions, functions, and goals that arise because Billy Syahputra's YouTube account. This research is a qualitative research with discourse analysis research. The results showed that: the disclosure of information on YouTube social media made Billy Syahputra more comfortable to be open about himself and a place to improve himself. The dimensions or rules in self-disclosure that occur by Billy Syahputra are related to the level of frequency and length of time needed to improve in accordance with Billy's needs to find followers / customers.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis isi foto jurnalitstik “Selamatkan Merah Putih” yang merepresentasikan sikap nasionalisme saat terjadinya konflik Gafatar di Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Objek penelitian ini adalah serial foto jurnalistik “Selamatkan Merah Putih” karya Jessica Helena Wuysang. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes yang meliputi konsep denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Dengan mengetahui tanda-tanda visual yang ada dalam serial foto jurnalistik “Selamatkan Merah Putih”, dapat mengungkapkan pesan dan makna foto tersebut sebagai representasi nasionalisme. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa representasi nasionalisme ditandai oleh subjek dan peristiwa yang ada dalam foto tersebut. Simbol-simbol dalam foto tersebut berupa adanya bendera merah putih, anggota Polisi Republik Indonesia dan Tentara Nasional Indonesia, serta sikap saling tolong-menolong warga saat terjadinya konflik. Tanda-tanda visual tersebut didasari oleh sikap nasionalisme Indonesia yang berasal dari Pancasila, menegaskan bahwa negara hadir ditengah adanya konflik dan sikap gotong-royong sebagai pemersatu bangsa. Sehingga serial foto jurnalistik “Selamatkan Merah Putih” mempunyai makna yang lebih dalam mengenai masih adanya representasi nasionalisme saat terjadinya konflik didalam negara.Kata kunci: semiotika, foto jurnalistik, selamatkan merah putih

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi kreatif yang diterapkan produser program Kangen Tembang-Tembung ADiTV Yogyakarta dalam mempertahankan eksistensi program melalui 13 elemen strategi kreatif  Naratama. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif  kualitatif. Subyek penelitiannya  produser dan penata artistik Kangen Tembang-Tembung. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi serta dokumentasi. Keabsahan data yang digunakan adalah triangulasi sumber. Analisis data dilakukan melalui pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya strategi kreatif yang digunakan produser dalam mempertahankan eksistensi program Kangen Tembang-Tembung. Dari 13 elemen strategi, Fashion dan Format Acara adalah elemen yang paling khas. Fashion dalam  Kangen Tembang-Tembung yaitu busana adat Jawa dan kerudung bagi pengisi acara perempuan. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Kangen Tembang-Tembung mengintegrasikan budaya lokal dengan nilai-nilai islam yang menjadi ciri khas ADiTV. Pada elemen format acara produser menambahkan fragmen yang berisi update informasi terbaru atau topik yang sedang hangat di masyarakat. Produser juga menerapkan strategi lain yaitu produksi outdoor  untuk mengenalkan Kangen Tembang-Tembung kepada khalayak luas. Kata Kunci: Strategi Kreatif, Strategi Produser Televisi, Eksistensi Program, Program Kangen Tembang-Tembung.
