Abstract

Field Experience Practice Program or Program Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL) is a mandatory program to be followed by FKIP students of the University of Jember. As a field supervisor lecturer, in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of PPL in Junior High School 9 of Jember, I launched integrated PPL program with Lesson Study (LS). Junior High School 9 of Jember, as a partner in the development of the LS school in Jember by FKIP UNEJ, providing full support to the implementation of LS-based PPL. The support not only the license to undergo LS based PPL, but also school provide policies that encourage teachers to officials actively involved in the implementation of integrated LS-based PPL. This implementation is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the implementation of the PPL so as to improve the teaching skills of students (teacher trainee). Teaching skills were measured using two instruments with two different focus. The first is the student learning observation instrument (student-focused) and the second is an assessment instrument for teaching practices (focusing on the actions of the teacher trainee). From four teacher trainee of Biology Education FKIP UNEJ who had the opportunity to practice LS-based PPL in Junior High School 9 of Jember, all of them show improved teaching skills significantly. Abstract

The quality of food that is good in bacteriological, chemical and physical must always be maintained in order to avoid diseases or health problems. Healthy and safe food is an important factor to improve the standard of public health. Seblak is a ready-to-eat Indonesian food which until now has never been carried out research about what kinds of bacteria in it. Seblak is a food made from raw crackers which is then deliberately soaked using hot water to have a chewy texture. This study aims to determine what types of bacteria are contained in seblak, through the process of isolation and identification in the macroscopic, microscopic and biochemical way. This study used 5 samples, which was repeated 5 times for each sample. Bacteria were isolated from the sample using spread plate techniques and observed by growing colonies on the plate. Each different colonies was observed microscopically through gram staining and endospore staining. To strengthen the data, biochemical tests were also carried out, biochemical tests that have been done in this study were the oxidase test, catalase test, and indole test. The results of the study showed that the bacteria that were found from the samples are in the genus of Bacillus sp. because they show the morphological characteristics of the colonies that form concentric circles, meanwhile, microscopic observations show morphological characteristics of cells in the form of gram-negative bacilli and have the endospores.

Abstract

This research aimed at determining the validity of interactive multimedia on the nerve system material that had been developed and finding out the students’ response to the interactive multimedia. This was a developmental research (Research and Development) followed by a small group test on the eleventh-grade students of SMAN Ambulu totaling 9 students. The students were selected based on their ability level; 3 students with high ability level, 3 students with moderate ability level and 3 students with low ability level. The data collection techniques used were experts' validation sheets and questionnaires. The design of the interactive multimedia in this research was 4D (define, design, develop and disseminate) model developed by Thiagarajan (1974). The developmental procedure of 4D consists of 4 stages: (1) define, (2) design, (3) develop and (4) disseminate. The results showed that the validity of the developed interactive multimedia reached 82.9% according to the content expert, 86.3% based on the learning expert, 88,3% based on the learning media expert, and 82.7% based on the teacher’s (user) perspective. The results of small group test revealed that the legibility and the level of difficulty were 81.99% or in the good category, and student response score was 83.55%, it means that student had positive response toward the use of developed media in their learning. Abstract

The environmental conditions which are becoming worse is the potential problems facing humanity. Many efforts have been made to reduce environmental damage, one of them is by instilling environmental awareness through education. This education can be done through the application of learning that capable of empowering students positive attitude towards the environment. The reality on the field, the student academic abilities level are very diverse,necessitating a study to assess the effect of student academic level toward the changes in students attitudes through learning process. This study aims to determine the effect of the variation of academic ability on the attitudes toward river ecosystem of high school students in the city of Malang. This study conducted in academic years of 2008/2009. The subjects in this study were high school students in Malang, and the samples are SMAN 2 Malang students from class X7 and X8 and SMA Laboratorium UM students from class X2 and X6. This study applied to the second semester of 10 th grade students on the topic of River Ecosystem. The data statistical analysis from this study showed that the probability of academic ability is 0.376 (bigger than 0.05), so that thenull hypothesis is accepted and the research hypothesis is rejected, which means academic ability had no effect on student attitudes on the ecosystem of the river. Thus, it can be concluded that learning processes that aims to empower student positive attitude on the river ecosystem can be applied both to students with high and low level of academic ability Keywords: academic ability, attitude, river ecosystem

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui pengaruh penerapan strategi pembelajaran berbasis konstruktivistik PBP terhadap sikap siswa SMA di Malang pada ekosistem sungai, (2) mengetahui pengaruh tingkat kemampuan akademik terhadap sikap siswa SMA di Malang pada ekosistem sungai, dan (3) mengetahui pengaruh interaksi antara penerapan strategi pembelajaran berbasis konstruktivistik PBP dan tingkat akademik terhadap sikap siswa SMA di Malang pada ekosistem sungai. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X7 dan X8 SMAN 2 Malang serta X2 dan X6 SMA Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang. Penelitian ini berlangsung antara tanggal 14 Maret – 31 mei 2009. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik kovarian (ANAKOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut LSD. Hasil penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa PBP berpengaruh nyata secara statistik terhadap sikap siswa pada ekosistem sungai, siswa yang difasilitasi dengan PBP memberikan hasil nilai sikap lebih tinggi 9,9% dari pada multistrategi, sedangkan kemampuan akademik serta interaksi PBP dan kemampuan akademik tidak berpengaruh terhadap sikap siswa pada ekosistem sungai.

Abstract

The ability to think critically is the main ability needed for graduates in the 21st century. In this regard the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning learning model with experimental task methods that can trigger critical thinking skills. This type of research is a quasi-experiment using pre-test and post-test. The population used is the XII grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Jember in the 2018/2019 academic year. The research sample used was selected through purposive random sampling. The analysis used is Covariance Analysis. The results showed that the average difference in the value of critical thinking skills of the experimental class students was higher than the control class, which was 31 for the experimental class and 24 for the control class, with significance results (Sig = 0,000). This is because PBL is a learning model that uses contextual problems so that students actively build knowledge and can accommodate the development of critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the Problem-Based Learning learning model with the experimental assignment method triggers an increase in students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan media aplikasi android gaya dan gerak terhadap Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dan minat belajar siswa SMP. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian post-test only control group design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Sempu pada semester ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022. Sampel penelitian yaitu VIII G sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII H sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji independent sample t-test, dan uji t-pihak kanan. Hasil analisis HOTS diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) 0,007 < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan rata-rata nilai HOTS siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dan hasil analisis minat belajar diperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) 0,001 < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan rata-rata minat belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Teaching and learning process can be combined with the existence of skills. There are 4 types of skills that can be needed in the 21st century era. One such skill is the Communicative skill. Communicative skills are learning that emphasizes aspects of communication, interaction, and developing linguistic competencies, as well as language skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) as a goal to recognize that there is a connection with communication activities in daily life. The learning process can also use a learning approach that is relevant for students so that students can improve student learning outcomes at school. One learning approach that fits the 2013 curriculum is the STEM approach is a learning approach that combines two or more fields of science contained in STEM, namely science, technology, engineering or engineering, and mathematics. Through the STEM approach students are expected to have 2 skills of learning and innovation which include critical thinking, creative, innovative, and able to communicate and collaborate. Thus, learning must be embedded in basic concepts to the development of science and thinking skills.

Abstract

The implementation of the curriculum 2013 revised edition was reinstated by the government in 2016 that made all elements of the school especially teachers should adapt the learning tools used in the teaching system. Learning tools include syllabus, RPP, Textbooks, LKS, and learning media. Science learning according to the 2013 curriculum is done contextually for example by applying environment based learning by maximizing the enviromental potential that exists in the area around the school. Ecosystem is a material that must be done contextually. One of methode for teachers to improve their learning motivation and student learning outcomes is by developing a The Banna Game integrated contextual learning instruction. Game The Banna is an educational game themed Baluran National Park. This study aims to develop The Banna Game integrated contextual learning instruction on the subject of Ecosystems on Learning Motivation and Student Cognitive Learning Outcomes at SMPN 1 Asembagus Situbondo. This research is a developmental research using ASSURE model. The developmental research is carried out in Biology Education Study Program which involves several validators, Baluran National Park experts, application experts, learning device experts, learning media experts and materials experts. Test validity based on the validation assessment of the five validators to test the feasibility of the product to be used in the school. Validity test results obtained are TNB Expert 92.1%, Media Experts 89.70%, Expert Learning Tool 71.875%, Media Experts 77.083% and Expert Content 73%. Based on it shows that the level of validity of learning devices obtain valid categories and can be used in learning activities in the school.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of metacognitive awareness of high school students in using the inquiry learning model with Concept mapping techniques. This study used a quasi-experimental study involving students of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences as the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group applied the inquiry learning model with Concept mapping techniques, while the control group applied the STAD learning model with information discussions by forming a small group. Kolmogorov Smirnov's one sample test and homogeneity were used to select the experimental group and the control group. The measurement of students' metacognitive awareness in this study used an MAI (Metacognitive Awareness Inventory) questionnaire. The number of questions consists of 35 items, where the question is divided into three factors involved in the knowledge of consciousness, and five other factors related to the regulation of consciousness. The data on the value of metacognitive awareness used to measure students' metacognitive awareness was obtained from the MAI questionnaire given to students both in the experimental class and in the control class before and after the study, the data obtained was then analyzed using the ANAKOVA test. MAI treatment has a probability value of 0.008 which is smaller than 0.05 (p = 0.008 <0.05) which means that there is a significant influence on the inquiry learning model with Concept mapping techniques on students' metacognition. Based on the Normalized gain test, the n-gain value is 0.
