Abstract

The implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) based on lesson study aimed to determine its effect on the biology learning achievement of high school students. This referred to quasi-experimental research by applying CTL learning based on lesson study to the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class. The population in this study amounted to 286 students (Science X class students of SMA Negeri 2 Jember). The sample in this study was determined through homogeneity test, normality test, and random sampling to determine the control class and the experimental class. The students' affective learning achievement was analyzed by using the independent sample t-test, while their cognitive learning achievement was analyzed by using ANAKOVA test. Based on the test results of the independent sample t-test, it was found that the students' affective learning achievement differed significantly between the students in experimental class and control class. Based on the results of ANAKOVA test, it was known that the application of CTL learning based on Lesson Study has a significant effect on students' cognitive learning achievement.

Abstract

Keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan konsep biologi siswa di Indonesia masih rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengkaji efektivitas pembelajaran aktif berbantuan LKPD Problem Solving terhadap keterampilan pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan konsep biologi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan quasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Control Group Pretest Posttest. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes. Metode analisis data  keterampilan pemecahan masalah yaitu dengan uji normalitas One Sampel Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan dilanjutkan uji Mann Whitney U. Sedangkan metode analisis data penguasaan konsep biologi dengan Uji Independent Sample T-Test dengan aplikasi SPSS 22 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran aktif berbantuan LKPD Problem Solving efektif meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05), serta efektif meningkatkan nilai penguasaan konsep biologi siswa gain sebesar 0,62 atau sebesar 62% dengan kategori sedang dan mendapatkan hasil nilai signifikansi yaitu sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05).

Abstract

At present it is using digital air measurements using much better analytical functions in the field using digital measurements that have accuracy weaknesses. Developing a condensation device into the air oxygen meter uses two methods: prioritizing Saltzman and Winkler, this corresponds to the contents in the air directly with air and oxygen. Development of atmospheric atmospheric condensation equipment for example ambient air oxygen concentration measuring generator, carried out with the R2D2 development model with a calibration process based on independent sample test Calibration T-test error test with digital titration and electrochemical methods, In addition to the significance of the measurement result is sig value 0.280 > 0, 05 and the calibration measurement results of the tool developed with a digital meter tool obtained the significance of the results that the sig value of 0.254 > 0.05 there was no difference between several samples using the method used.

Abstract

Endophytic bacteria are the most preferred biological agents in the last period to control Pratylenchus coffeae parasitic nematodes in coffee plants Endophytic bacteria are able to control P. coffeae and increase plant growth. The results of the application of endophytic bacteria can be increased through a combination application. This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of endophytic bacterial isolates isolated from a coffee plantation from Kalibendo garden on the growth of Arabica coffee seedlings attacked by P. coffeae nematode. The study used isolates of endocytic bacteria Micrococcus luteus, Micrococcus sp. and Bacillus sp. the density of 109 cfu in two-month Arabica coffee plant seeds with 9 treatments, 4 replications and 3 sub-replication for 4 months of research. The results showed that a combination of endophytic bacterial isolates was able to significantly increase the growth of Arabica coffee plant seeds.

Abstract

Azotobacter is one group of aerobic bacteria that colonizes root surfaces and is able to produce glyceroline promoting substances, cytokines and Indole Acetate Acid (IAA). Azotobacter can be found in the rhizosphere of various types of plants, such as soy rhizosphere (Glycinemax L.), rhizosphere palm (Elaeis guineensis), coffee (Coffea arabica), and corn (Zea mays). Rhizosphere is a soil zone that surrounds the roots of plants where biology and soil chemistry are affected by roots. This zone has a width of about 1 mm. In this study rhizosphere used is rhizosphere coffea Robusta plant. The purpose of this research is to know the isolated Azotobacter isolate from the rhiszosphere of Robusta coffee plant which attacked by Pratylenchus coffeae parasite parasite from Kalibendo plantation, Banyuwangi. The type of research used is explorative research. In this research successfully obtained 5 bacterial isolates. The result showed that from isolate isolate, 4 isolates were genus Azotobacter while 1 isolate was not known.

Abstract

Culex sp. is a vector of filariasis. Vector control mostly uses chemical insecticides which have a negative impact. Buas-buas plants (Premna serratifolia L.) are one of the plants that have the potential as an alternative to the use of chemical insecticides that have been widely used (as botanical insecticides). Buas-buas leaves (Premna serratifolia L.) contain alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. This study aimed to test the toxicity of the purified extract of buas-buas leaf (Lethal concentration 50) on the mortality of Culex sp. larvae with an exposure time of 24 hours. Serial concentrations of purified extract used were 850, 1350, 1850, 2350, and 2850 ppm with four repetitions. Each treatment used 20 Culex sp. late three to early four instars. Toxicity testing of Culex sp. gives an LC50 result of 1799.77 ppm..

Abstract

ABSTRAKFenomena fisika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari belum banyak digali sehingga berpotensi untuk dikaji yakni proses pembangunan rumah. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara teoritis fisika yang ada dalam proses pembangunan rumah dan menganalisis kaitan materinya dengan pembelajaran fisika di SMP dan SMA. Data dikumpulkan melalui data sekunder dan data primer yang diperoleh dari observasi langsung di lapangan dan dokumentasi mengenai proses pembangunan rumah yang selanjutnya akan digunakan untuk dianalisis dalam penelitian dalam bentuk analisis data deskriptif yang mana hasil penjabarannya berupa kata-kata dan bukan angka. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan penerapan konsep fisika dengan kegiatan sehari-hari dalam proses pembangunan rumah yang berkaitan dengan pemmbelajaran fisika di kelas yakni konsep bejana berhubungan, gaya berat dan konsep pesawat sederhana penggunaan alat-alat yang digunakan oleh tukang bangunan selama proses pembangunan rumah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis kontesktual, dan memanfaatkan sumber belajar di lingkungan sekitar siswa seperti proses pembangunan rumah akan memberikan kesempatan kepada guru sebagai sumber belajar baru, pengintegrasian bahan ajar seperti lembar kerja siswa dan memperkaya soal HOTS dalam mengajar di kelas dan memberikan kesempatan siswa untuk belajar secara langsung di lingkungannya yang diharapkan dapat memberikan hasil belajar sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran fisika. Kata kunci: fisika; pembelajaran fisika; pembangunan rumah. ABSTRACTPhysics phenomena in everyday life have not been explored much so that they have the potential to be studied, namely the process of building houses. This study aims to theoretically examine the physics that exist in the process of building houses and analyze the relationship between the material and physics learning in junior and senior high schools. Data is collected through secondary data and primary data obtained from direct observations in the field regarding the house construction process which will then be used to be analyzed in research in the form of descriptive data analysis where the results of the description are in the form of words and not numbers. The results of the study obtained the application of physics concepts with daily activities in the house building process related to learning physics in the classroom, namely the concept of related vessels, heavy forces and the concept of simple aircraft using tools used by builders during the house construction process. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that by applying contestual-based learning, and utilizing learning resources in the surrounding environment of students such as the house building process will provide opportunities for teachers as new learning resources, integrate teaching materials such as student worksheets and enrich HOTS questions in teaching in the classroom and provide opportunities for students to learn directly in their environment which is expected to provide learning outcomes  according to the learning objectives of physics. Keywords: physics; physics learning; house construction.

Abstract

Biology is one of the subjects in the science specialization. Opinions from students stating that biology is the easiest subject among science specialization subjects. However, some students have difficulties studying biology for a variety of reasons, including the teacher's teaching style, the student's learning style, the students' unfavorable opinion of the course, and a lack of learning materials. This study aims to find out the student's perception of biology learning at Kepanjen Islamic senior high school. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The sample in this study was class X students with the sampling technique carried out by proportioned stratified random sampling. Data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires and interviews. The score from the questionnaire data is calculated by percentage statistics. The finding reveals that the perception of class X students on the implementation of the biology learning process as a whole is in enough category with a percentage of 79.17%. Of the five activities in the learning process, there are two categories, namely gathering information and communicating with ‘good,’ category, and those having ‘enough’ categories, namely observing, asking questions, and associating or processing information.

Abstract

Green chemistry has become an important technique for solving environmental problems in the chemical industry, with an aim of developing sustainable catalysts for eco-friendly industrial processes. This review considers recent advancements in green chemistry particularly regarding development and application of sustainable catalysts. The study examines different varieties of sustainable catalysts from renewable materials, mild and energy-saving operational conditions as well as minimizing waste and enhancing recyclability. Furthermore, it also discusses key industrial applications like ammonia and hydrogen peroxide production using more sustainable processes. In addition, there is a growing embrace of green chemistry principles across other areas such as fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Nonetheless, some significant challenges still exist including need for more generalized and scalable means of discovery and optimization of catalysts. The paper underscores that bridging academia and industry gaps is crucial to successfully adopting green chemistry research in industrial contexts. For instance, accelerated discovery and optimization of sustainable catalysts depend heavily on advancements in data-driven strategies such as high-throughput experimentation as well as computational modeling.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the usage of spice essential oils, specifically ginger, in the food sector. This study is a literature study. The source of the article writing library were taken from Google Scholar and www.scimagojr.com with relevant study. According to the findings, essential spice oils, especially ginger, can be used as seasonings in the food sector which can extend the shelf life and enhance the taste of a product. This is supported by the chemical nature of ginger essential oil, which contains compounds. Therefore, food additives can be added to the food manufacturing process. Since the main principle of adding food additives is to prevent the growth, oxidation and unwanted chemical changes of bacteria, so that food looks good as well as its tastes, hence food can be consumed safely.
