Abstract

Teripang merupakan salah satu sumberdaya hayati laut yang banyak terdapat di perairan P. Nyamuk dan Parang terutama untuk jenis Stichopus sp., yang merupakan jenis dengan nilai ekonomis tinggi. Namun produksi teripang saat ini menurun drastis. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan suatu upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi teripang yaitu dengan jalan budidaya, mulai dari produksi benih, pembesaran, sampai teripang siap jual. Berdasarkan permasalahan dan situasi kelompok mitra yang ada maka metodologi solusi masalah yang ditawarkan adalah melakukan percontohan budidaya teripang. Target luaran yang dicapai pada program pengabdian ini adalah alih teknologi budidaya teripang, perbaikan produksi teripang dari usaha penangkapan menjadi usaha budidaya yang mendukung konservasi sumberdaya teripang itu sendiri. Keberhasilan dari program ini dapat dilihat dari jumlah peserta yang mengikuti penyuluhan sebesar 70 % anggota yang giat melakukan uji coba fission pada teripang yang merupakan salah satu upaya pengalihan dari nelayan pengambil teripang menjadi pembudidaya teripang.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat adalah pengenalan metode dan teknologi tepat guna dengan metode akuamber untuk teknik memadukan usaha bertanam sayur mayur dengan budidaya ikan dalam wadah ember. Pelaksanaan kegiatan di lahan sempit, pekarangan dan masih terkena sinar matahari karena tanaman sayuran dan ikan membutuhkan sinar matahari. Hasil usaha dapat dimanfaatkan konsumsi, peningkatan gizi bagi Balita dan anak serta anggota keluarga yang lain. Bahkan dapat dikonsumsi bersama dalam kegiatan rukun tetangga (RT/RW) dan kegiatan PKK sebagai usaha swadaya masyarakat. Keberlanjutan kegiatan PPM kepada kelompok sasaran dapat meningkatkan ketahanan pangan keluarga dengan menerapkan aplikasi probiotik pada budidaya polikultur antara ikan dan tanaman sayuran skala rumah tangga.

Abstract

Mikroplastik di perairan dapat tertelan dan terakumulasi dalam tubuh makhluk hidup dengan melalui proses rantai makanan. Kerang darah adalah organisme sesil yang hidupnya berada di substrat dasar perairan. Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini yakni mengidentifikasi mikroplastik di dalam kerang darah (Tegillarca granosa) dan korelasi ukuran cangkang kerang darah terhadap kelimpahan mikroplastik pada kerang darah dari TPI Bungo, Demak, dan TPI Tambaklorok, Semarang. Sampel kerang darah diperoleh dari hasil penangkapan ikan oleh nelayan TPI Bungo, Demak dan TPI Tambaklorok, Semarang pada bulan September 2023. Sampel dipisahkan antara daging kerang dan jaringan lunak. Sampel jaringan lunak didestruksi menggunakan 100 ml KOH 10% selama 24 jam, ditambahkan 10 ml ZnCl2 30% dan didiamkan selama 24 jam untuk memisahkan nathan dan supernathannya, kemudian disaring dengan kertas Whatman No. 42 dengan bantuan vacuum pump. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan mikroplastik dalam kerang darah dari TPI Bungo, Demak dan TPI Tambaklorok, Semarang, yang berbentuk fiber, film, fragment, serta pellet. Kelimpahan mikroplastik pada kerang darah dari TPI Bungo, Demak dan TPI Tambaklorok, Semarang berturut-turut pada ukuran kecil 9,63±0,98 partikel/gr dan 5,95±0,98 partikel/gr, ukuran sedang 5,66±1,16 partikel/gr dan 5,18±1,15 partikel/gr, serta ukuran besar 6,32±1,47 partikel/gr dan 5,08±1,41 partikel/gr. Sehingga disimpulkan kerang darah dari TPI Bungo, Demak dan TPI Tambaklorok, Semarang sudah terkontaminasi mikroplastik dan terdapat hubungan antara ukuran cangkang kerang darah yang berbeda terhadap kelimpahan mikroplastik pada kerang darah.  Microplastics in waters can be ingested and accumulated in the body of biota throughout the food chain cycle. Blood cockles (Tegillarca granosa) are sessile organisms that live in the bottom substrate of water. This study aims to determine the microplastics in blood cockles (Tegillarca granosa) from Fish Auction Place (FAP) of Bungo, Demak and Tambaklorok, Semarang and its relationship with the shell size. The samples were taken in September 2023. The soft tissue of samples was destructed using 100 ml of 10% KOH for 24 hours, was added with ten molliliters of 30% ZnCl2 and allow it to settle for 24 hours for separation of natant and supernatant. The samples were then filtered using Whatman paper no. 42 with a vacuum system. The microplastics were examined under microscope. The results showed the presence of microplastic in all blood cockles samples in form of fiber, film, fragment, and pellet. The density of microplastics in blood cookles from FAP of  Bungo, Demak and Tambaklorok, Semarang according to their size as follows: small 9.63±0.98 and 5.95±0.98 particles/gr, medium 5.66±1.16 and 5.18±1.15 particles/gr, and large 6.32±1.47 and 5.08±1.41 particles/gr, respectivelly. The blood cockles from FAP Bungo, Demak and Tambaklorok, Semarang have been contaminated with microplastics and there is relationship between the shell sizes and the abundance of microplastics.

Abstract

Sediment is a collection of particles that come from weathering both soil and rock, biological and an anthropogenic process. Sediment flows from upstream to downstream areas. Topographic conditions are one of teh factors in sedimen distribution. The topography in the Wonorejo area tends to be low because it is located in a coastal area. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of topographic changes in Wonorejo on the distribution of sediments in the area. The method used in this study is descriptive method by collecting data including primary data and secondary data. The primary data used are Landsat 7 and Landsat 8 satellite imagery, while the secondary data used is in the form of Surabaya village administration map data, Surabaya DEM data and Indonesian SHP data. Data processing was performed using ArcGIS 10.3 software. The results indicated that the topographic conditions of the region did not have a significant influence on the distribution of sediments in the Wonorejo area. The distribution of sediment in those area was more influenced by hydro-oceanographic factors such as currents, tides and waves. Other factors that influence are anthropogenic factors such as development and land conversion.

Abstract

The Delta Wulan waters are categorized as estuarine waters, which are greatly influenced by the sedimentation from the Wulan River and Serang River. Besides, the Delta Wulan Waters are vulnerable to the impact of pollution from anthropogenic waste. This research aims to examine the distribution pattern of chlorophyll-a and water quality parameters in the Delta Wulan Waters. Samplings were carried out at 12 stations, which were located in the middle of the Delta Wulan waters. One liter of water samples was taken using a Niskin bottle. The water quality measurements were carried out in situ. The research revealed that the highest chlorophyll-a value was found at Station 11 (2.94 ug/L) in November 2023, and the lowest chlorophyll-a value was also found in November 2023 at Station 6 (0.01 ug/L). Meanwhile, in August 2023, the chlorophyll-a value was in the range of 0.53–8.02 µg/L. The observations in August and November showed that the distribution pattern of chlorophyll-a was regular for stations 1 to 12 (dispersion index value < 1)

Abstract

The carrageenan production process from Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed produces solid waste of 60%-70% w/w, primarily composed of cellulose, which can be used for bioplastic films. This research aims to determine the effect of glycerol plasticizer addition on the characteristics of K. alvarezii waste-based bioplastics. Bioplastics were made by mixing 50 g of wet waste with 90 mL of distilled water, homogenized at 70°C for 30 minutes. Glycerol (0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%) was added, with water to a total volume of 150 mL, and homogenized again for 30 minutes. The solution was poured into a polypropylene mold and dried at 60°C for 24 hours. Results showed glycerol increased transparency and elongation but reduced tensile strength and water resistance. The addition of 1% glycerol produced bioplastics with the best characteristics, meeting Japanese Industrial Standards. FTIR and SEM showed similar bioplastic properties across treatments. This research indicates that K. alvarezii carrageenan extraction waste is promising for packaging material and bioplastic production.  Proses produksi karagenan dari rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii menghasilkan limbah padat sebesar 60%-70% w/w, terutama terdiri dari selulosa yang dapat digunakan untuk film bioplastik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan plastisizer gliserol terhadap karakteristik bioplastik limbah K. alvarezii. Bioplastik dibuat dengan mencampurkan 50 g limbah basah dengan 90 mL akuades, dihomogenkan pada suhu 70°C selama 30 menit. Gliserol (0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%) ditambahkan hingga volume 150 mL, dihomogenkan kembali selama 30 menit. Larutan dituang dalam cetakan polipropilena dan dikeringkan pada suhu 60°C selama 24 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan gliserol meningkatkan transparansi dan elongasi, tetapi mengurangi kuat tarik dan ketahanan air. Penambahan 1% gliserol menghasilkan bioplastik dengan karakteristik terbaik, memenuhi Japanese Industrial Standard. FTIR dan SEM menunjukkan sifat bioplastik yang serupa pada semua perlakuan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa limbah ekstraksi karagenan K. alvarezii menjanjikan sebagai bahan kemasan dan produksi bioplastik.

Abstract

There are several groups of organisms in zooplankton, including ciliates (Filum Ciliophora). Ciliates that live in the sea belong to the suborder tintininna or also often referred to as tintinnids. This study aims to determine the type and abundance and analyze the ecological index of the tintinnid community in Banggai Waters, Central Sulawesi. This research was conducted at 35 stations on 1 – 14 September 2022 in the Banggai Waters, Central Sulawesi. The samples were taken by vertical method. The results showed that 9 families, 20 genera, and 35 tintinnid species were identified. The abundance of tintinnids in Banggai Waters has an average of 5763 cells/m3. Furthermore, the distribution pattern of total abundance at each station shows a clustered distribution pattern. The diversity of tintinnid abundance in Banggai Waters has an average of 2.15, classified as moderate. Tintinnid uniformity in Banggai Waters has an average of 0.63 classified as high. The dominance of tintinnids in Banggai Waters has an average of 0.17 classified as low category. The relationship between total abundance and diversity index shows a positive correlation. Meanwhile, the relationship between the abundance and evenness indices and the dominance indices shows a negative correlation.  The study's results suggest that the condition of the tintinnid community in Banggai Waters is stable. Filum Ciliophora (Ciliata) termasuk dalam kelompok mikrozooplankton.  Ciliata yang hidup di laut termasuk ke dalam subordo Tintininna atau juga sering disebut dengan tintinnid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis, kelimpahan, dan indeks ekologi dari komunitas tintinnid yang berada di Perairan Banggai, Sulawesi Tengah. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada tanggal 1- 14 September  2022 di Perairan Sulawesi Tengah. Sampel  mikrozooplankton diambil secara vertikal pada 35 stasiun.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 9 famili, 20 genus, dan 35 spesies tintinnid yang teridentifikasi. Kelimpahan tintinnid di Perairan Banggai memiliki rata-rata sebesar 5763 sel/m3. Selanjutnya pola sebaran dari kelimpahan total di tiap stasiun menunjukkan pola sebaran mengelompok.  Kenekaragaman Kelimpahan tintinnid di Perairan Banggai memiliki rata-rata sebesar 2,15 tergolong kategori sedang.  Keseragaman tintinnid di Perairan Banggai memiliki rata-rata sebesar 0,63 tergolong kategori tinggi. .  Dominansi tintinnid di Perairan Banggai memiliki rata-rata sebesar 0,17 tergolong kategori rendah. Hubungan anatara kelimpahan total dengan indek keanekaragaman menjukkan korelasi positif. Sedangkan hunbungan antrara kelimpahan dengan indek keseragman dan  indek dominansi menjukkan adanya korelasi negatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kondisi komunitas tintinnid di Perairan Banggai termasuk stabil.

Abstract

The Banggai cardinalfish (Pterapogon kauderni, Koumans, 1933) is an endemic coral reef fish species native to the waters of the Banggai Islands Regency. In 2007, the species was classified as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), followed by its designation as a protected species with limited conservation status by Indonesia’s Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in 2018. Research on the Banggai cardinalfish has been conducted in its native habitat in the Banggai Islands as well as in introduced locations. One of these introduction sites is Gilimanuk Bay, Bali, which serves as a temporary holding area for ornamental corals before export and as a release site for Banggai cardinalfish that do not meet export standards, typically due to physical deformities. This study aims to analyze the horizontal and vertical distribution of the Banggai cardinalfish in Gilimanuk Bay, Bali, with the expectation that the findings may provide insights for government policy formulation in terms of conservation efforts. The research employed a descriptive exploratory method to provide a comprehensive description of the subject and to establish a data foundation for further research or decision-making. The results showed a total population of 2,253 fish. The highest horizontal population density was observed in the southwestern part of Gilimanuk Bay, with 2.87 individuals/m² across a 500 m² observation area distributed over 5 stations. Meanwhile, the highest vertical population density was found at a depth of 6–7 meters, with a density of 3.88 individuals/m² over a 100 m² observation area at one station.

Abstract

Daya kreatifitas siswa dapat terasah salah satunya dengan meningkatkan bacaan terhadap karya sastra. Karya sastra menjadi pintu masuk sisws untuk membentuk imajinasi-imajinasi yang lebih luas lagi. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kreatifitas siswa serta meningkatkan literasi bahasa dan sastra di SMP Muhammadiyah Nanggulan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan adalah sosialiasai, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Berdasarkan metode tersebut, terdapat beberapa kegiatan yang dilakasanakan dalam pengabdian ini yaitu sosisalisasi sastra anak, penulisan sastra anak dan pendampingan pengelolaan majalah “SUMUNAR”. Kegiatan-kegiatan ini sebagai pembuka awal kreatifitas siswa dalam mengenal sastra anak, dan sekaligus memacu siswa untuk menuliskan atau menghasilkan karya sastra anak. Selain itu, pendampingan yang dilakukan dapat memberi wawasan baru kepada para redaksi baik dari siswa maupun guru tentang bagaimana regulasi dan pengelolaan sebuah majalah. Majalah yang diiterbitkan juga akan banyak berisi tentang hasil kreatifitas siswa dalam hal menulis, melukis, dan hal-hal positif lainnya. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya dilaksanakan dalam satu kurun waktu saja, akan tetapi dilaksanakan secara terus menerus dan berlanjut.
