Abstract

Learning in elementary schools still lacks innovative approaches that integrate various disciplines contextually. The STEAM model has the potential to be a solution, and this study aims to analyze its effectiveness in IPAS learning through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Literature searches were conducted through the Google Scholar database with a phased approach. The first stage using the keyword “Learning Model” resulted in 314,000 documents. The addition of the keyword “STEAM” in the second stage narrowed the results to 6,640 documents. The third stage adding the keyword “IPAS” yielded 270 documents, while the fourth stage adding the keyword “Elementary School” filtered the results to 246 documents. After strict selection based on the inclusion criteria, 7 relevant articles were obtained for further analysis. The results showed that the STEAM model significantly improved students' critical thinking skills, higher order thinking skills and learning outcomes. In addition, this approach provides in-depth, relevant and contextualized learning experiences, supporting students' holistic development. The implication of this research is the importance of developing a curriculum that supports the systematic and consistent implementation of the STEAM model in primary schools. In addition, teacher training is needed to improve competence in implementing this approach in order to maximize its impact on learning quality. The STEAM model can also be the basis for developing educational policies that are oriented towards the demands of 21st century learning.

Abstract

The low level of critical thinking skills among elementary school students has become a major challenge in meeting the demands of 21st-century competencies. This issue is exacerbated by the lack of learning models that actively engage students in solving real-world problems and making decisions based on analytical reasoning. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills at the elementary level. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted by collecting data from Google Scholar using specific keywords. The search yielded 12,900 documents, which were narrowed down to 249 articles, with 10 articles ultimately meeting the inclusion criteria for further analysis. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively to identify the main findings related to the application of PjBL in improving critical thinking. The results indicate that PjBL is effective in developing students’ abilities to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems logically and creatively. Additionally, this model enhances students’ social skills, collaboration, and communication. The findings suggest that PjBL should be more widely implemented in elementary education as an innovative learning strategy capable of fostering 21st-century skills in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Many students experience difficulties and show low interest in learning mathematics. One possible solution to enhance students’ motivation and engagement is the use of interactive quiz-based game media such as Kahoot. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Kahoot in improving elementary school students’ mathematics learning outcomes. The method employed is a systematic literature review by examining scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2024, obtained through Google Scholar searches. From a total of 18,700 articles identified, a screening process based on inclusion criteria was conducted, resulting in 10 articles selected for review. Data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings indicate that Kahoot is effective in strengthening the understanding of basic mathematical concepts and increasing students’ learning motivation. However, several limitations were identified, including unequal access to technology and students’ tendency to focus more on competition rather than comprehension of the material. Overall, the implementation of Kahoot creates enjoyable and interactive learning experiences, contributing positively to the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes. The implications of this study highlight that integrating interactive digital media into the learning process can enrich teaching strategies, although challenges related to technology access need to be addressed in future implementations.

Abstract

Mathematics learning difficulties remain a significant challenge faced by many elementary school students. This issue directly impacts students' low academic achievement in mathematics. This study aims to identify and analyze in depth the various factors causing mathematics learning difficulties using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. A total of 10 relevant scientific articles were carefully selected based on specific inclusion criteria and analyzed using a thematic approach. The results of this study indicate that there are two main categories of causes of learning difficulties: internal and external factors. Internal factors include a lack of understanding of basic mathematical concepts, low motivation to learn, and excessive anxiety toward mathematics lessons. On the other hand, external factors involve the use of less varied teaching methods, limited learning media, and a lack of support from the surrounding environment, especially from parents. Based on these findings, it is concluded that it is important to apply a contextual, interactive, and student-centered learning approach tailored to students' characteristics and needs. Additionally, strong collaboration between teachers, parents, and school authorities is needed to create a conducive learning environment. The implications of this research indicate that interventions based on students' needs and teacher training in designing more effective learning strategies are essential to address the challenges in mathematics learning comprehensively.

Abstract

The Kampus Mengajar Program aims to improve the quality of basic education by involving students as teacher assistants in schools. In addition to impacting schools, this program contributes to developing students' soft and hard skills. This study aims to explore the long-term impact of the Kampus Mengajar Program on the development of students' soft and hard skills. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by reviewing 10 articles from accredited journals, such as the Al-Ishlah Education Journal, the Indonesian Action Research Journal (JRTI), the Journal of Education Research, and the Wahana Pendidikan Scientific Journal. This study focuses on analysing the program's long-term impact on students' work readiness after graduation. The results of the study indicate that this program improves communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. In addition, students acquire technical skills such as lesson planning, technology utilization, and effective teaching strategies. This program helps students bridge the gap between theory and practice, increasing graduates' competitiveness in the workplace. This study provides insights into the effectiveness of experiential learning and its implications for higher education policy in Indonesia to prepare graduates who are more competitive, adaptive, and ready to face workplace challenges.

Abstract

Mathematics is a basic science that not only teaches numbers and calculations but also trains logical, analytical, systematic, and critical thinking skills in solving contextual problems related to everyday life. This study examines the effectiveness of using scrapbook media in mathematics learning in elementary schools through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The literature search focused on the first keyword, "Scrapbook", resulting in 105,000 articles, then limited to 2020 to 2024 with 13,700 articles. The insertion of the second keyword, "Mathematics Learning", obtained 380 articles, and then the placement of the third keyword "Elementary School", obtained 332 articles. Data filtering is also required from the 332 articles, and a feasibility test is still carried out, thus obtaining articles that align with the focus of the literature review objectives. The review process was done through the identification, selection, and feasibility stages based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Of the 332 articles found, only 10 met the in-depth analysis requirements. The study results show that scrapbooks can help students understand mathematical concepts visually, concretely, and enjoyably. Furthermore, scrapbooks have been shown to increase student interest in learning, creativity, and active engagement during the learning process. Scrapbooks also support contextual learning and strengthen the connection between mathematical concepts and real-life situations. Based on these findings, scrapbooks are recommended as a practical and relevant alternative medium for improving the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze student participation in the Teaching Campus program in an effort to increase children's interest in reading through the reading literacy movement at SDN 2 Pujokerto. The Class 4 Teaching Campus program is a continuation of the previous classes of the Teaching Campus program, namely classes 1, 2 and 3. The background to this research arises from the phenomenon of declining interest in reading among elementary school children caused by technological developments and lack of access to interesting and age-appropriate reading books. The Teaching Campus Program is one of the initiatives launched by the government in order to improve the quality of education in remote, outermost and disadvantaged areas (3T), especially in terms of children's interest in reading. This research uses qualitative research methods with descriptive analysis and direct observation results in the field. The participants in this research included students participating in the Teaching Campus program, teachers at SDN 2 Pujokerto. The results of the research show that student participation has significantly increased students' interest in reading at SDN 2 Pujokerto. This is demonstrated through creative activities carried out such as the Reading Corner Literacy Activity, visiting the library and making school posters. In addition, there is increased access to reading books that are interesting and suitable for children. This research has the implication that collaboration between universities and schools through programs such as the Teaching Campus can be an effective solution in overcoming the problem of children's interest in reading.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam membuat media pembelajaran digital berbasis humanis guna menumbuhkan minat membaca siswa di SD Muhammadiyah Soekarno Hatta Kotabumi. Di era digital, penting bagi guru untuk memanfaatkan teknologi dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menarik, khususnya untuk meningkatkan minat membaca siswa sekolah dasar. Pendekatan humanis diterapkan agar media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan tidak hanya efektif secara teknis, tetapi juga memperhatikan aspek emosional dan kebutuhan individual siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi pelatihan intensif terkait penggunaan perangkat lunak pengembangan media pembelajaran, pendampingan dalam penerapan konsep humanis dalam pembelajaran digital, serta evaluasi untuk mengukur peningkatan kompetensi guru dan dampaknya terhadap minat membaca siswa. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan guru mengembangkan media pembelajaran digital yang menarik dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Selain itu, minat membaca siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, ditandai dengan lebih aktifnya siswa dalam berinteraksi dengan bahan bacaan yang disajikan secara digital. Melalui pelatihan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi, didapat hasil sebanyak 80% guru mampu membuat media digital menarik, dengan 70% media tersebut mendapat respons positif dari siswa, serta peningkatan skor keterampilan guru dari 65 ke 85 (pre-post-test). Fasilitas berupa perpustakaan mini dan akses bahan bacaan digital juga disediakan, sehingga siswa rata-rata membaca 3-5 bahan bacaan per minggu. Selain itu, 75% orang tua terlibat aktif dalam mendukung literasi, yang berdampak pada peningkatan minat baca siswa sebesar 30%, ditandai dengan bertambahnya waktu membaca harian dari 15 menit menjadi 25 menit. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan guru, memotivasi siswa dalam membaca, dan melibatkan orang tua untuk mendukung literasi berbasis humanis.

Abstract

Motivasi merupakan salah satu faktor utama dalam menunjang hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan media pembelajaran kartu bergambar dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak usia dini. Dalam metode studi literatur, kami menyelidiki literatur yang relevan dengan topik ini dan mengidentifikasi temuan-temuan kunci. Hasilnya mengungkapkan bahwa media pembelajaran kartu bergambar memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak usia dini. Desain yang menarik, unsur interaktif, dan keterlibatan anak merupakan faktor penting. Faktor individu dan variasi dalam penggunaan media juga berdampak signifikan. Kerjasama antara orang tua dan pendidik menjadi penting, serta perlu ada evaluasi dan pengembangan berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang cara meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak usia dini melalui media pembelajaran kartu bergambar.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru sekolah dasar dalam mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis digital melalui program pendampingan yang komprehensif. Dalam era digitalisasi pendidikan, kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi menjadi sangat penting untuk menciptakan proses belajar mengajar yang lebih interaktif, efektif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan zaman. Program ini tidak hanya fokus pada pemberian materi teknis, tetapi juga menekankan pada pemahaman mendalam mengenai manfaat dan cara mengintegrasikan teknologi ke dalam pembelajaran sehari-hari. Kegiatan pendampingan dilakukan di SDN 6 Mulang Maya Kecamatan Kotabumi Selatan, melibatkan beberapa guru sebagai peserta. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini mencakup pelatihan intensif mengenai penggunaan perangkat lunak pengembangan bahan ajar, pendampingan personal dalam penerapan teknologi tersebut, serta evaluasi untuk mengukur kemajuan kompetensi guru. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan guru menggunakan teknologi, terutama dalam hal pembuatan bahan ajar yang lebih menarik dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan teknis, program ini juga berhasil membangun kepercayaan diri guru dalam mengimplementasikan bahan ajar digital di kelas. Guru merasa lebih siap menghadapi tantangan pendidikan modern dan mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih menarik dan partisipatif bagi siswa. Ini juga memberikan dampak positif pada keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran, yang menjadi lebih aktif berkat penggunaan bahan ajar yang interaktif.
