Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil pemahaman calon guru-guru penggerak Kabupaten Batubara pada modul paradigma dan visi guru penggerak sebelum dan sesudah memperoleh pembelajaran dengan alur MERDEKA berbasis LMS. Subjek penelitian adalah calon guru-guru penggerak Kabupaten Batu Bara sebanyak 24 guru. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t sampel berkorelasi. Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata postest lebih besar dari nilai rata-rata pretest. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil pemahaman calon guru-guru penggerak pada modul paradigma dan visi guru penggerak sebelum dan sesudah memperoleh pembelajaran pada LMS dengan menggunakan alur MERDEKA. Hasil analisis data dengan signifikansi senilai 0.000 lebih kecil dari 0.05 yang berarti bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pemahaman calon guru-guru penggerak pada modul paradigma dan visi guru penggerak sebelum dan sesudah memperoleh pembelajaran dengan alur MERDEKA berbasi LMS.

Abstract

Learning that involved the daily life accompanied by interesting learning media can be used as an option to help students in learning, particularly in improving students' concepts understanding. It is possible to do by utilization of familiar media that are generally liked by students. One of them is comic. Therefore a research about learning by comic based realistic mathematical approach was carried out in order to find out its effect on improving the skills of students concepts understanding on fraction material. This study is a quasi-experimental research. The population of study are 7th grade students of SMP RK Serdang Murni Lubuk Pakam on Academic Year 2019/2020. The first class that consist of 31 students are categorized as the control class and the second class consist of 32 students are experimental class. The pre-test and post-test questions were provided as an instrument of study. The data were analyzed using the Anova and Welch Brown-Forsythe tests to proof the hypotesis. Moreover, normality test with Liliefors test and the homogeneity test with the Levene’s test. The results of this study stated that learning with comics-based realistics mathematical approach has a significant effect on improving the skills of students concept understanding.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' mathematical literacy and numeracy using the STAD type cooperative learning model for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Kabanjahe. This research is classroom action research (PTK), the subjects in this research are students in class VIII–A of SMP Negeri 4 Kabanjahe. The results of this research show an increase in students' mathematical literacy and numeracy in class VIII–A students at SMP Negeri 4 Kabanjahe for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research procedure is cyclical. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely: planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. Data collection techniques through observation, tests and questionnaires. This data collection uses several instruments in the form of teacher observation sheets, student observation sheets, questionnaires regarding student responses. Meanwhile, to determine students' mathematical numeracy literacy abilities, tests are used. The results of the research show that the use of the STAD type cooperative learning model can improve students' mathematical numeracy literacy skills in mathematics subjects with flat shapes. From the initial ability test, 5 students got a passing score or 16%, while 27 students did not complete it or 84% with an average score of 50. In the first cycle, 18 students got a passing score or 56%, while students who did not 14 people completed or 44% with an average score of 67. In the second cycle, 26 students got a complete score or 81%, while 6 students did not complete or 16% with an average score of 90. So there was an increase in initial ability test, cycle I and compared to cycle II and has fulfilled the specified completeness. Furthermore, teacher activity in cycle I obtained an average of 73% and in cycle II it increased to 82% and student activity in cycle I obtained an average of 55% and in cycle II it increased to 81%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of character education on the character of students at SDN 060914 Medan. The approach in this study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with survey methods. The sampling technique uses a purposive sample, namely by taking samples from fifth grade students with a total of 20 students. The research instruments used were interviews, questionnaires, and observation. The results of the research show that students' behavior in implementing character education which includes religious, honest, diligent, disciplined, and caring/responsible characters is in the pretty good category. As for the constraints on the lack of cooperation from parents to further foster students when they are at home, as well as their daily social environment. So the solution to these obstacles is to hold meetings with parents at the end of each semester.

Abstract

Students who experience learning difficulties in natural science (science) lessons obtain unsatisfactory learning results and grades that do not fulfil the KKM. Quantitative research method is a research method based on positive philosophy which is used to examine research instruments and quantitative/statistical data analysis, with the aim of testing predetermined hypotheses. In this research, researchers used experimental methods. The student's natural science (science) learning outcomes before being given treatment obtained an average score of 60.46. The normality test result is 0.150, so it can be concluded that the pre-test learning results are normally distributed. The student's natural science (science) learning outcomes after being given treatment obtained an average score of 82.46. The normality test result is 0.094, so it can be concluded that the post-test learning results are normally distributed. This can be proven with a correlation coefficient value of 0.960 which is a very strong interpenetration. The results of the T-test calculation to find out whether the hypothesis is accepted or rejected, the tcount 16,830 is greater than ttable 1,706, which means that there is an influence of Problem-Based Learning Based on Song Media on student learning outcomes. Thus, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.

Abstract

Fenomena menghargai kebhinekaan adalah isu yang sangat strategis pada saat ini. Hal ini menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi masyarakat secara umum dan mahasiswa secara khusus. Tantangan yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam berinteraksi dengan sesama, seperti stereotip, diskriminasi, dan polaritas pemikiran, dapat menghambat pemahaman dan penghargaan terhadap keberagaman. Dalam era globalisasi, mahasiswa diharapkan menjadi agen perubahan yang mampu mengelola perbedaan dan mempromosikan nilai-nilai toleransi. Berdasarkan pemikiran tersebut, menanamkan sikap menghargai kebhinnekaan tersebut dianggap sangat penting. Dalam kegiatan ini, metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan kesadaran mahasiswa tentang kebhinnekaan. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan pretest untuk mengukur pemahaman awal peserta, diikuti dengan pemaparan materi, diskusi, dan refleksi. Setelah kegiatan, posttest dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai kebhinnekaan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman mahasiswa tentang pentingnya kebhinnekaan dan tantangan yang dihadapi dalam interaksi sosial. Diskusi ke depan menekankan perlunya program-program berkelanjutan yang mendukung pendidikan multikultural dan dialog antarbudaya di lingkungan kampus. Dengan demikian, diharapkan mahasiswa dapat berkontribusi secara positif dalam membangun masyarakat yang lebih adil, damai, dan inklusif di masa depan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika melalui pemanfaatan aplikasi Mentimeter sebagai alat evaluasi interaktif. Mentimeter, sebagai platform berbasis teknologi, memungkinkan guru membuat evaluasi yang lebih menarik dan dinamis melalui fitur seperti kuis, polling, dan word cloud. Program ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 31 Medan dan melibatkan pelatihan bagi guru matematika untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mereka dalam menggunakan teknologi sebagai bagian dari proses pembelajaran.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman guru tentang cara memanfaatkan Mentimeter secara efektif. Guru mampu merancang evaluasi interaktif, memberikan umpan balik langsung kepada siswa, dan menganalisis hasil evaluasi secara real-time. Penerapan Mentimeter terbukti meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika, menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih interaktif, dan membantu siswa memahami materi secara lebih baik.Namun, beberapa kendala yang dihadapi termasuk keterbatasan akses internet dan waktu yang diperlukan untuk memahami fitur-fitur aplikasi. Oleh karena itu, disarankan adanya pelatihan lanjutan serta peningkatan infrastruktur teknologi di sekolah untuk mendukung keberlanjutan program ini. Dengan demikian, penggunaan Mentimeter dapat menjadi solusi inovatif dalam mengatasi tantangan pembelajaran matematika di era digital

Abstract

This research explores the difficulties faced by mathematics teachers in Sumatra Island in managing learning. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved 91 junior high school teachers through written interviews with 10 open-ended questions. The research results revealed several main difficulties: limited understanding of the independent curriculum, challenges in developing teaching modules, difficulties in determining learning objectives from cognitive-affective-psychomotor aspects, challenges in designing learning that facilitates social-economic-cultural-religious aspects, and obstacles in implementing teaching methods that meet students' needs. Nevertheless, teachers have demonstrated good abilities in time management, facilitating student collaboration, providing feedback, and conducting learning reflections.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematical problem solving ability of students in class VIII-4 at SMP Negeri 31 Medan through the application of the Discovery Learning model. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were 30 students of class VIII-4, while the research object was the improvement of mathematical problem solving ability through Discovery Learning model. The results showed an increase in students' mathematical problem solving skills from cycle I to cycle II. In the initial test, the average student score was 45.22 with a completeness rate of only 13.33%. After the application of Discovery Learning in cycle I, the average score increased to 66 with a completeness rate of 56.67%. In cycle II, the average score reached 82.66 with a completion rate of 86.67%. Thus, the use of the Discovery Learning model proved to be effective in improving students' mathematical problem solving skills on the material of Linear Equation One Variable.

Abstract

The 4C skills—Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration—are essential for preparing students to navigate 21st-century challenges. However, results from PISA 2022 and Indonesia's Education Report 2024 reveal that foundational competencies remain low, particularly in rural contexts. This study aims to explore the manifestation of 4C skills among ninth-grade students at SMP Budhi Dharma Balige, North Sumatra, through performance on PISA-based mathematics questions. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected from 31 students using two PISA tasks and an unstructured teacher interview. Responses were assessed using a rubric-informed framework, and analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model. Results show that while students demonstrate strong communication and procedural reasoning (96.77% correct in Q1 Part 2), performance in critical thinking and argumentation remains limited (only 35% success in Q2 Part 3). The main barrier is the lack of integrated instructional strategies that promote higher-order and collaborative learning. The study concludes that while 4C skills are beginning to develop, their progression is fragmented and requires targeted pedagogical reforms. Recommendations include the use of project-based learning, culturally responsive instruction, and formative assessments to ensure equitable 4C development in under-resourced schools.
