Abstract

Thought for a second This study aims to describe the improvement in ninth-grade students’ mathematics learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 23 Medan following the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach. The research employed a classroom action research design, with the subjects being students of class IX-B at SMP Negeri 23 Medan during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The research instrument used was a series of formative assessments. Data were collected through four phases: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive quantitative approach: first, student scores were tabulated and their classical completeness percentages calculated; scores meeting the school’s minimum completeness criterion (KKM) of 75 were considered to have reached mastery. The results showed that in Cycle I, 53.57% of students achieved mastery, which then increased to 82.1% in Cycle II. Since the classical completeness target was met in Cycle II, the research was concluded at that point. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of the TaRL approach in instruction can enhance students’ mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The teachers at SD 173529 are teachers with the status of Civil Servants (PNS). Teachers with the status of civil servants must write scientific papers when going up to a position or class. The problem is writing scientific papers and data processing. The solution offered to overcome this problem is SPSS training include processing research data and how to read the SPSS output to be narrated in the research results. The method used consisted of group discussions, deliberations, in-house training and workshops. The results from this activity are the teacher gives a positive response to the training activities include 100% of teachers liked the training material, the modules used, the way of learning, the way the instructor taught. The other results are the teachers stated that the training material is new (71.42%), the modules used are new (85.71%), the learning method implemented is new (85.71%), the method of teaching is a new way of teaching (85,71%), the teacher expressed interest in using SPSS in processing research data and in training activities (100%).

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe patterns of students’ computational thinking errors in solving systems of linear inequalities in two variables. Specifically, it examines errors occurring at each stage of computational thinking, such as problem decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm construction, as well as the underlying factors contributing to these errors. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. The participants consisted of 36 tenth-grade students. Data were collected through written tests, observation, and semi-structured interviews to explore students’ cognitive processes in depth. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that students experienced errors at all stages of computational thinking. Students encountered difficulties identifying relevant information during problem decomposition, recognizing conceptual relationships during pattern recognition, transforming problems into appropriate mathematical representations during abstraction, and constructing systematic solution procedures during algorithm construction. These errors were primarily attributed to insufficient conceptual understanding, difficulties in interpreting problem statements, and limitations in formulating effective problem-solution strategies. These findings provide valuable insights into students’ learning difficulties and may serve as a foundation for designing more effective instructional strategies to enhance students’ computational thinking skills.
