Abstract

PAUD (Early Childhood Education) is a guidance process that determines the growth and development of children (3-6 years old) in the community. There are 10 PAUD of school in district of Medan Kota who are trained by PKK (Family Welfare Movement). They are trained about classroom setting, learning methods and health for children. The problems of tutor taught English by playing and singing without the tools. Team of community service with partners of BPTKI and HIMPAUDI discussed with a solution to provide training educator method English Language Educatif per word orally using Flanel Book products in child language development to tutors. Some methods of this activity were(1) Preparation for training activities, (2) implementation (action) by sewing and cutting patterns made from flannel materials into media as teaching tools, (3) observation of action by doing sewing skills and cut the pattern made into "flannel book", (4) Evaluation on readiness tutor using the product very well, (5) And the reflection is very enthusiastic on the activity of training can learn by other creativity with flannel material, because the flannel material is soft, odorless, not sharp , colorful, and safe for children.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPAUD (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini) adalah proses bimbingan yang sangat menentukan corak pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak (3-6 tahun) yang sangat penting di masyarakat. Konsep pengajaran diimplementasikan dalam penataan kelas, metode pembelajaran dan kesehatan gizi anak pada tiap sekolah PAUD. Gurunya mengajarkan berbahasa Inggris dengan cara bermain dan bernyanyi tanpa alat peraga. Dan tuntutan para orang tua berlomba-lomba memasukkan anak mereka ke sekolah yang bertaraf internasional ataupun nasional plus dimana media bahasa yang digunakan adalah bahasa Inggris. Tujuan tulisan ini untuk menguasai pembelajaran bahasa Inggris per kata secara lisan dalam perkembangan Bahasa dengan menggunakan Produk Buku Flanel dalam Bahasa Inggris Edukatif yang akan memudahkan mereka untuk mengajar anak-anak usia dini. Adapun solusi tersebut: memberikan pelatihan dalam metode pengajaran bahasa Inggris Edukatif per kata dalam perkembangan bahasa anak, mengeluarkan produk Buku Flanel dalam bahasa Inggris Edukatif per kata, dan memberika pelatihan bahasa Inggris Edukatif kepada guru-guru. Beberapa metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah (1) Persiapan untuk mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan, (2) Pelaksanaan (tindakan) dalam ketrampilan menjahit dan menggunting pola yang akan membuat suatu produk dari bahan flannel menjadi alat peraga (bantu) mengajar, (3) Observasi tindakan dengan mengerjakan ketrampilan menjahit dan menggunting pola yang dibuat menjadi œbuku flannel, (4) Evaluasi kesiapan guru-guru menggunakan produk sangat baik, (5) Dan refleksi sangat antusias dengan kegiatan pelatihan dapat membuat kreasi yang lain dengan bahan flannel, karena bahan flannel ini lembut, tidak berbau, tidak tajam, berwarna- warni, dan aman untuk anak-anak.Kata kunci: AUD, Perkembangan Bahasa, Bahan Flannel

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the use of WhatsApp messaging as one of mobile learning on students' errors in writing recount texts with the theme "COVID 19" at SMP Negeri 4 Satu Atap Kuala, Indonesia. This research conducted Junior High School as population of 108 students in the eighth grade. Sample taken use random sampling, reduced of 27 students. The research method used is descriptive-quantitative method. Results showed that four types of writing errors are omissions, additions, misinformation, and sequence errors. The most common types of errors in writing recount text are omission errors of 3.5% and addition errors of 1%. Misinformation with 88.5% errors. And the last ordering error with 7% error. By doing this research, it is hoped that students can practice more and improve their writing skills, especially in recount texts.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk memberika edukasi dalam penyuluhan agar peserta didik secara khusus mengetahui jenis, bahaya dan pencegahan tindakan perundungan di Sekolah Dasar Desa Pantai Gemi, Langkat. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dalam pelaksanaan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Mandiri di Sekolah Dasar Desa Pantai Gemi. Metode yang digunakan edukasi dalam penyuluhan ini adalah (1) ceramah dan (2) diskusi Hasil penyuluhan memperlihatkan bahwa adanya kesadaran peserta didik bahwa perundungan dapat hadir dalam berbagai macam-macam dan mengetahui bahwa tindakan yang mereka lakukan ternyata termasuk tindakan perundungan yang berakibat negatif bagi anak lain sehingga tidak mengulanginya kembali.

Abstract

This study entitled “Analysis the Effect of Polysemy on the Speech Learning from Covid-19 by Nadiem Makarim to Elementary School Student”. The objectives of this study were (1) to identify the types of polysemy, (2) to investigate polysemy elements used in the speech, and (3) to identify the effect of polysemy were used on the speech to elementary students. The descriptive qualitative is applied in this study. The data were obtained from the speech by Nadiem makarim using documentation method. Afterward, analysis of this study use data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. The findings of the research show that there are 65 data of polysemy’s words which find in Learning from Covid-19 speech. Based on the types of polysemy, most of Irregular Polysemy were 38 words (58.5%) and followed by Regular Polysemy with 27 words (41.5%). The effect of polysemy on the speech to the elementary student has not been widely applied to elementary school students. Inasmuch as, the student has limited complex reasoning to a word that has another meaning and is critical. In a sentence, polysemy plays an important role and has the function to distinguish the meaning of a word meaning.

Abstract

This community services aimed to provide the training of teaching early childhood for teachers in using English based on a scientific approach in Medan. The method used is based on an analysis of the needs of English-speaking teachers in the city of Medan. This training carried out in three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The result of this training is to train teachers' teaching skills using educative learning tools in schools by practicing English vocabulary which is easier based on a scientific approach, namely observing, asking questions, gathering information, reasoning, and communicating. And enthusiastic teachers for  teaching using beginner’s English can provide new vocabularies and improve language development to children.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out students' perceptions of synchronous and asynchronous learning modes. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatra Utara. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and used random sampling. The subjects of this study were 50 students filling out the questionnaire and 8 students being interviewed. From the results of the study, it can be seen that as many as 72% of students are satisfied with the synchronous learning mode, and as many as 66% of students are satisfied with the asynchronous learning mode. It can be seen that more students like synchronous learning mode than asynchronous learning mode by online learning using whatssapp, google classroom, and zoom application.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine students' perceptions toward using zoom as a learning medium during online EFL (English as a foreign Language) learning. This research also uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data sources were obtained from 50 of 8th-semester students by distributing questionnaires, and ten randomly selected students for interviews. The results of the questionnaire obtained were processed using quantitative and interviews by entering interview transcripts. The results of this study indicate that students have positive perceptions and attitudes about using zoom as a learning medium during online EFL learning. Students who consider zoom, a video conferencing technology that assists students with online learning and does not restrict discussion in English, can also utilize zoom to improve and enhance their English. Zoom allows us to have a virtual classroom and it is the ideal choice for learning, discussing, and attending meetings and webinars since its functions allow students to communicate with both the instructor and their peers at the same time, anywhere as learning media.

Abstract

The study aimed to find out the significance of the mobile technology-assisted flipped classroom method to increase the complexity of students' reading by video narrative through fairy story YouTube videos as a media in Junior High School. This research design is a quantitative study with an experimental research design. The population was all of the students at SMP Negeri 4 Satu Atap Panai Hulu, Indonesia. The sample used by random sampling technique was divided into two groups were experimental group taught by mobile technology-assisted YouTube video narrative and the control group taught using the reading book method. The data was collected by using pre-test and post-test and were analyzed by using the t-test formula of 16.0 SPSS. The result found that the t-test is the value of sig. (2 tailed) of 0.000<0.5  means that there was a significant effect of mobile technology-assisted flipped classroom method to increase the complexity of students' reading by video narrative through fairy story YouTube video as a media. Abstract

The objective of this research was to examine the effects of using a scientific approach on the development of reading comprehension abilities among students in the seventh grade. The objective of this research was to ascertain the importance of using a scientific approach within the realm of reading comprehension. The current experimental study was carried out among a class of seventh-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 57 Medan during the academic year 2022-2023. The study population included a total of 47 students. The research used a random sample methodology. The experimental class for this research was designated as VII C and was subjected to the implementation of the scientific approach strategy. In contrast, the control class, VII A, was selected for the study and used the reading technique. The data gathering instrument was a blend of multiple-choice and essay forms. The data was obtained from pre-test and post-test evaluations of the pupils. A statistically significant difference was seen in the mean scores of students between the pre-test experimental class and the post-test experimental class. The data is shown by a two-tailed p-value of 0.000, which is lower than the preset significance threshold of 0.5. As a result, the incorporation of scientific methodology in educational research has a significant impact on the level of competency pupils have in reading and interpreting narrative texts. This, in turn, facilitates the enhancement of their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for their overall development.
