Abstract

Abstract This article tries to dissect the direction of the development and application of religious moderation values in the Polytechnic. Conceptually, religious moderation is a process of believing in, understanding and practicing balanced religious teachings in the life of the nation and state. This research is a qualitative research, in which data from field studies were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Field research was carried out at the Bandung Polytechnic (Polban) and the Jakarta State Polytechnic (PNJ). The results of the study show that the direction of developing religious moderation in the Polytechnic prioritizes the cultivation of the value of tolerance which is entrusted to all Religious Education courses. The inculcation of the value of religious moderation is carried out through the delivery of material about tolerance in the views of religions in Indonesia and the implementation of joint activities in the form of inter-religious harmony projects. Abstrak Artikel ini mencoba membedah arah pengembangan dan penerapan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama di Politeknik. Moderasi Beragama secara konsep merupakan sebuah proses meyakini, memahami dan mengamalkan ajaran agama yang berimbang dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, di mana data hasil studi lapangan dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian lapangan dilaksanakan di Politeknik Bandung (Polban) dan Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa arah pengembangan moderasi beragama di Politeknik mengedepankan pada penanaman nilai toleransi yang dititipkan pada semua mata kuliah Pendidikan Agama. Penanaman nilai moderasi beragama ini dilakukan melalui penyampaian materi tentang toleransi dalam pandangan agama-agama di Indonesia dan pelaksanaan kegiatan bersama dalam bentuk projek kerukunan antar umat beragama.

Abstract

This scientific article explores the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at higher education institutions, focusing on the analysis of existing opportunities and challenges. This topic is crucial to study, not only because no one has done it before, but this study is a step to understand how technology can be effectively used in the context of islamic religious education at the higher education. On the other hand, this study is also conducted to identify potential areas for further research and the development of innovative solutions in addressing existing challenges. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. Data were collected through the interview process with lecturers and students, as well as literature studies through Syllabus, RPS, and PAI Teaching Materials. Additionally, a study of various supporting literature in the form of journals, books, and reports of other research results was also conducted. From the results of the study, four main opportunities were found to improve the quality of the implementation of religious education and character for students, namely more personal learning experiences, improved quality of materials, material improvement, and learning simulations. AI can facilitate a more adaptive and responsive learning experience to individual needs and allow for the development of richer and more in-depth materials. However, the implementation of AI also faces significant challenges, including ethical issues and religious sensitivity, resource availability, apathy and resistance to technology, and assurance of content quality.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap program tutorial keagamaan di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) dengan fokus pembahasan pada respon mahasiswa, faktor pembentuk respon, dan implikasinya terhadap pelaksanaan mentoring keagamaan di masa depan. Studi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan untuk memahami bagaimana respon mahasiswa terhadap program mentoring keagamaan sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar pengembangan program di masa depan. Penelitian melibatkan 1359 mahasiswa UPI yang telah mengikuti program tutorial keagamaan pada semester genap tahun 2024. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui penghitungan frekuensi, persentase, mean, dan standar deviasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa umumnya memiliki persepsi positif terhadap program tutorial keagamaan, khususnya terkait dengan pengelolaan, penjadwalan dan durasi sesi yang dianggap memadai dan fleksibel sesuai dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa. Materi yang disampaikan dinilai relevan dan disajikan dengan cara yang mudah dipahami, yang menunjukkan efektivitas metode program yang diterapkan. Interaksi dengan tutor juga mendapat respons positif, dengan tutor yang mampu menjelaskan materi secara menarik dan interaktif serta memberikan umpan balik yang konstruktif, sangat diapresiasi oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa implikasi penting dalam pengelolaan kegiatan mentoring keagamaan di masa depan. Pertama, pendidikan keagamaan dalam konteks kontemporer. Kedua, menggabungkan fleksibilitas dan personalisasi. Ketiga, meningkatkan kualitas tutor. Keempat, pengembangan inklusiv. Kelima, evaluasi berkelanjutan.This article aims to describe student perceptions of the religious mentoring program at Univeristas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), focusing on student responses, factors influencing these responses, and their implications for the future implementation of religious mentoring. This study is motivated by the need to understand how students respond to the religious mentoring program so that it can serve as a basis for future program development. The research involved 1359 UPI students who participated in the religious tutorial program during the second semester of 2024. The collected data were analyzed descriptively through the calculation of frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations. The findings indicate that students generally have a positive perception of the religious tutorial program, particularly regarding its management, scheduling, and the duration of sessions which are deemed adequate and flexible according to student needs. The material presented is considered relevant and is delivered in an easily understandable manner, demonstrating the effectiveness of the applied program methods. Interaction with tutors also received positive responses, with tutors who are able to explain the material in an engaging and interactive manner and provide constructive feedback, which is highly appreciated by the students. This study produces several important implications for the management of future religious mentoring activities: first, religious education in a contemporary context; second, the integration of flexibility and personalization; third, enhancing tutor quality; fourth, inclusive development; fifth, continuous evaluation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The rise of intolerance, violence, bullying, extreme and radical actions in social life in society can not be separated from how the pattern of education and communication patterns in the family environment. In fact, in fact the Qur'an has led to his people to build a family that can pass on the good in it. This is in line with marriage as part of worship that has a function to keep maqashid al shari'ah..This article discusses the guidance of the Qur'an in communicating with children in the family environment. The established communication pattern is communication that can instill tolerant attitude on the child to be applied in individual life and social. There are six communication patterns that are guided in the Quran, namely qaulan baligha, qaulan sadida, qaulan karima, qaulan maysura, qaulan ma'rufa, and qaulan maysura. The six communication patterns are characteristic of Rabbani, Humane, Universal, Balanced, and Realistic.Keywords: communication, tolerance, guidance of the Qur’an

Abstract

This paper discusses the idea of the multicultural education development strategy based on the local wisdom at higher education. Indonesia, as the largest archipelago in the world, certainly has diverse cultural base. The fact that ethnic and cultural plurality is not only justified historically, sociologically, and anthropologically, but also theologically. An important thing in the sustainability of the multicultural education is the loss of fanaticism and exclusivism tendencies.Therefore, the management of the proper local culture should become the core in the development of national education. The matter becomes the basis that the multicultural education suits to be the basis of the character education in higher education. Nevertheless, multicultural education does not mean eliminating the primordial identity because it will cause the social and cultural backwards. The Indonesian culture might not be narrowed down into particular ethnic and religion for such actions would not produce the original identity. Even worse, it will disappear the original identity. The development of the multicultural education based on the local culture is carried through some steps: Identifying and constructing the data base of local culture; Inserting the values of local wisdom into the core curriculum of higher education through the content of the Character Education Course; Using the contextual-holistic approach; Providing facilities and infrastructure in accommodating the form of local culture; Exploring the values of local wisdom in classrooms; Building and promoting the foundation of the character educators; and Evaluating the achievement of learning outcomesKata Kunci: Pendidikan, Multikultur, Kearifan Lokal, Pendidikan Tinggi

Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial yang masif menjadi sarana dalam sosialisasi karakter toleransi yang membentuk harmoni dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa Generasi Z dalam penggunaan media sosial, dan hubungannya dengan nilai toleransi di Kota Bandung. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan angket sebagai instrumen penelitian. Teknik pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan sampling bertujuan atau purposive sampling, disertai dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dan uji korelasi.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa terhadap media sosial sebagai sarana penyebaran nilai toleransi positif. Analisis inferensial menunjukkan hubungan positif dan kuat antara persepsi mahasiswa dengan nilai toleransi dalam pemikiran dengan koefisien korelasi 0.685. Hubungan antara persepsi mahasiswa terhadap media sosial dengan nilai toleransi dalam tindakan dengan koefisien korelasi 0.694, yang menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat dan positif. Toleransi dalam pemikiran dan toleransi dalam tindakan menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi 0.806 yang menunjukkan korelasi yang sangat kuat.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the Islamic character education values in the local folklore of Si Kabayan Saba Kota and explore the challenges and solutions of local folklore as a tool for character education in the era of globalization, as well as its implications for character education. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, analyzing the content of scenes, dialogues, and narratives in the film. Additional data were obtained through interviews with Sundanese cultural experts and educators, as well as a literature review on local wisdom and character education. The findings reveal that folklore encompasses various relevant character values, including religiosity, honesty, responsibility, social care, courage, simplicity, and a love for culture. This folklore highlights the significance of local wisdom and Islamic character values as a powerful educational medium for shaping the character of the young generation in the era of globalization. Islamic character education based on local cultural values through folklore can be implemented by instilling moral knowledge, moral feelings, and moral actions.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of religious character on the development of students' social and national identities in higher education, encompassing tolerance, patriotism, politeness, nationalism, and cultural openness. The research employed a quantitative approach, involving an online survey of 1,025 students from three public universities in West Java. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that religious character significantly influences patriotic character (β = 0.653, f² = 0.744), tolerant character (β = 0.317, f² = 0.134), and polite character (β = 0.132, f² = 0.028). Patriotic character, in turn, has the most potent effect on nationalistic character (β = 0.841; f² = 2.426), which significantly influences culturally respectful character (β = 0.558). The model also confirms that the influence of religious character on nationalism and cultural openness is indirect, mediated through patriotic and nationalistic characters. These results highlight the sequential and integrative formation of national character, beginning with the internalization of spiritual values and extending to inclusive civic attitudes. The model makes a theoretical contribution to the character education discourse and supports the design of curricula that integrate religiosity and national values to address identity fragmentation in multicultural societies.

Abstract

The slaughtering of sacrificial animals (kurban) is a religious ritual rich in spiritual, social, and health values; however, in practice, it still faces several fundamental challenges. The traditional method of casting animals with ropes often poses safety risks to the committee, causes stress to the animals, and leads to a decline in meat quality. This community service program was conducted to provide a solution through the innovation of a safe and efficient animal casting tool that complies with Islamic principles. The method consisted of needs assessment, design and fabrication of a galvanized steel frame casting device with a portable hinge system, training on hygienic and syar’i slaughtering techniques, and field trials with the kurban committee. The results showed that the casting tool significantly reduced accident risks, shortened the time required for animal handling and slaughter, and maintained meat quality by minimizing animal stress. Moreover, the training improved the skills and knowledge of the kurban committee, particularly in halal, hygienic, and regulated slaughtering practices. The success of this program provided not only a technical solution but also reinforced the religious and social values of the kurban ritual, while fostering community independence in applying appropriate technology. Therefore, this community service contributes to enhancing safety, meat quality, and the sustainability of an orderly, hygienic, and syar’i-compliant kurban tradition.

Abstract

The declining interest and consistency in memorizing the Quran among younger generations pose a serious challenge amidst digital disruption and academic pressure. This study reflects on the experiences of participants in the One Day One Color (O.D.O.C) program, a Quranic memorization method based on daily targets and visualized progress, designed to foster discipline and measurable spiritual engagement. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using in-depth interviews with participants who had completed the program, to explore the cognitive, affective, and spiritual impacts of this method. The findings indicate that O.D.O.C effectively facilitates the formation of long-term memory structures, enhances intrinsic motivation, and strengthens emotional connections with Qur’anic verses. Although there is a decline in memorization intensity after the program ends, most participants demonstrate continued effort by adjusting their rhythm, integrating alternative methods, and leveraging technology. Memorization also serves as a reflective tool, a reinforcement of religious identity, and a form of emotional therapy. In conclusion, the O.D.O.C method is not only technically relevant but also has a transformative impact on character and spiritual development. Its success is contingent upon post-program support, including community engagement, strategic flexibility, and adaptive digital systems. This study recommends O.D.O.C as a promising methodological innovation in contemporary Qur’anic education.
