Abstract

This research is motivated by the less than optimal mathematics learning process caused by mathematics learning that is fixated on the teacher. This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education learning approach on mathematics learning outcomes for class VII SMP Negeri 2 Bangkinang City. This research is an experimental research with a pretest posttest control group design model. The research subjects were seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Bangkinang City. The sampling technique in this study was random sampling, consisting of 29 experimental group students and 29 control group students. The method of data collection is done by test. Data analysis used parametric statistics with t-test (independent sample t-test) with SPSS for windows version 25.0. The results showed that the Realistic Mathematics Education learning approach had a positive effect on improving mathematics learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the results of the independent sample t-test analysis with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. Based on the analysis and discussion, there are differences in the final average increase in mathematics learning outcomes, namely the experimental group of 83.45 and the control group of 72.24. The results of the study can be concluded that the use of realistic mathematics education learning approach has a positive effect on improving mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian pengembangan ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk pengembangan LKPD yang berkaitan dengan Masjid Jami pada materi bangun ruang SMP kelas VIII, untuk memudahkan pemahaman konsep matematika serta menjelaskan validitas, praktikalitas dan efisiensi. Perkembangan LKPD. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian dan pengembangan merupakan suatu metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk membuat produk tertentu dan menguji efektivitas produk tersebut. Produk yang akan dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah LKPD Jami dengan konteks masjid pada materi konstruksi SMP Kelas VIII. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diadaptasi dari model pengembangan Tjeerd Plomp. Model pengembangan Plomp terdiri dari tiga fase, yaitu. penelitian pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan atau prototipe dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah produk LKPD yang valid, praktis dan berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan siswa. Pada penelitian ini hasil validitas LKPD berada pada aspek materi dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 0,93 dengan kategori sangat valid, aspek kebahasaan dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 1,00 dengan kategori sangat valid, dan aspek kegrafikan dengan nilai rata-rata 1,00 dengan kategori sangat valid. nilai 0,93 berada pada kategori sangat valid. Tingkat kepraktisan LKPD dengan nilai 86,89% pada kategori sangat praktis dan efektivitas LKPD dalam pemahaman konsep belajar siswa rata-rata 0,79 efektif pada kelas VIII.K dan 0,73 efektif pada kategori VIII. G

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low science process skills of students in class III thematic learning at SDN 001 Bangkinang Kota. This study aims to improve students' process skills by using the Experiential Learning model in class III learning at SDN 001 Bangkinang Kota. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR). This research was carried out in 2 cycles and each cycle was carried out in two meetings. The subjects of this study were the third grade students of SDN 001 Bangkinang Kota, totaling 17 students with 9 male students and 8 female students. Data collection techniques used in this research are observation and documentation techniques. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that in the first cycle it was still quite adequate with an average of 74.11%, then from 17 students only 12 students or 70.58% achieved individual mastery. Student learning outcomes in cycle II were classified as good with an average of 80.00% and 14 students completed or 82.35% who achieved individual mastery. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Experiential Learning model can improve the skills of the learning process of living things in third grade students of SDN 001 Bangkinang Kota.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem of low mathematical reasoning ability of students in mathematics learning in grade XI SMAN 2 Rumbio Jaya. One solution to overcome this problem is to use the connected mathematics project (CMP) learning model. The purpose of this study was to improve the mathematical reasoning ability of high school students. This type of research is quasi-experimental research or pseudo-experiments involving two classes that are given different treatments, namely the experimental class and the control class. The research subjects consisted of class XI where class XI IPS1 was an experimental class with a total of 19 people and class XI IPS2 in the form of a control class with a total of 21 people. The sample technique uses simple random sampling. Before being given experimental class treatment and control class is first given a test, namely pretest, and after being given experimental class treatment and control class given posttest test. The results of this study, students' mathematical reasoning ability in the control class was found to be on average in the control class of 76.19 while in the experimental class it was found to be an average of 83.00. So that the Connected Mathematics Project model has a significant effect on the mathematical reasoning ability of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Rumbio Jaya. This is evidenced by an independent t-test, where the sig value is 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials in the form of student worksheets by using the context of Riau traditional house on the material of quadrilaterals and triangles for class VII of Junior High School. This developmental research uses Plomp model which consists of a preliminary analysis stage, development stage, and assessment stage. The test subjects in this study were seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Kampar Utara which consisted of 18 students and one mathematics teacher. The subjects of this research were seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Kampar Utara which consisted of 18 students and one Mathematics teacher. The result of this study is to produce student worksheets by using Riau traditional house context on valid, practical, and effective quadrilateral and triangle material.It can be seen that based on the results of the validation of content experts, an average of 3.42 was obtained in the very valid category, the results of the validation of linguists and cultural experts obtained an average of 3.25 which was included in the very valid category.The results of the practicality of student worksheets at the One-to-One and Small Group stages are 87.6% which are included in the very practical category, and the results of the practicality of student worksheets by the teacher are 87.5% in the very practical category. Furthermore, based on the results of effectiveness, it was found that student worksheets using the context of the Riau traditional house were very effective and suitable for use in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' conceptual understanding of linear equations and inequalities in terms of sociomathematical norms. The background of this research is based on the importance of conceptual understanding in mathematics learning and the role of sociomathematical norms as part of the classroom social environment that influences students' learning processes. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with six tenth-grade students from SMA Muhammadiyah Bangkinang Kota, selected through purposive sampling based on high, medium, and low categories derived from the sociomathematical norms questionnaire. The research instruments consisted of a questionnaire, written test, and semi-structured interviews. The findings show that students with high sociomathematical norms tend to have better conceptual understanding, as evidenced by their ability to restate concepts, classify objects, provide examples and non-examples, correctly apply mathematical procedures, and implement concepts in real-world contexts. In contrast, students with low sociomathematical norms struggle to understand and apply concepts accurately. These findings indicate that sociomathematical norms significantly contribute to students' conceptual understanding in mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model in fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 002 Langgini. The problem addressed in this research is the low level of students' conceptual understanding in mathematics, as indicated by the number of students who were unable to restate concepts, provide examples, or relate concepts through mathematical representations. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 18 fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed an increase in students’ understanding of mathematical concepts after implementing the Discovery Learning model. In the pre-cycle, only 33% of students achieved mastery. After the first and second cycles, the percentage of mastery increased significantly. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning model is effective in improving students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. This model allows students to learn actively and independently in discovering and understanding mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the JUCAMA learning model assisted by the Math Solver application on students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The background of this research is the importance of developing critical thinking skills in mathematics learning, as well as the need to utilize learning models and technology that can support this process. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and involves seventh-grade students at MTs in Sawah Village as research subjects. Sample selection was done using purposive sampling with two classes: the experimental class using the JUCAMA model and the control class using expository learning. The research instruments include a critical thinking skills test covering indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The research results indicate that there is a significant influence of implementing the JUCAMA learning model assisted by the Math Solver application on improving students' critical thinking skills. Students who participated in learning using the JUCAMA model showed higher achievement in the indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference compared to students who underwent expository learning. These findings suggest that using the JUCAMA model with the support of digital technology can be an effective strategy in developing students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on students’ mathematical communication skills at SMA Muhammadiyah Bangkinang. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design. The population consisted of all eleventh-grade students at SMA Muhammadiyah Bangkinang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, consisting of two classes: class XI IPA 1 as the experimental group taught using the Jigsaw cooperative learning model (30 students) and class XI IPA 2 as the control group taught using conventional learning methods (29 students). The research instrument was a mathematical communication skill test consisting of five essay questions on the topic of Matrices, administered before and after the treatment. The results showed a significant difference between the mathematical communication skills of students taught using the Jigsaw model and those taught with conventional learning. This was proven by the Independent Sample t-test, which obtained a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model had a significant effect on students’ mathematical communication skills. The effect size (Cohen’s d) was 2.46, which falls into the very large category. Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis showed an average score of 0.7517 for the experimental class (high/effective category) and 0.4650 for the control class (moderate category). These findings indicate that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model is highly effective and strongly influences the improvement of students’ mathematical communication skills, particularly in explaining mathematical ideas, situations, and relations both orally and in writing.
