Abstract

The prevalence of cancer in Indonesia is significantly high. Based on data (Rikesdas) in 2013, it showed that the prevalence of cancer is 1,4 per 1000 people or approximately 330.000 people. The most popular cases faced by women is chest and cervix cancer. Data has shown that 75% of breast cancer had chemotherapy. The result of studies shows that more than 60% of chemotherapy patient caused hair fall, darken-nail, queasy, and loss appetite. The aim of this study was to find out factors related to the obedience to chemotherapy on breast cancer patients in wardThursina II BLUD Zainal Abidin Hospital Banda Aceh in 2017. This research was conducted from 1 April to 30 May 2017. This type of research was the correlation with crossectional study design approach. The population of the study included all of the breast cancer patients who were having chemotherapy. The technique of sampling used was accidental sampling that involved 65 participants. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square Test. The result of the study showed that there was a relationship self-concept and chemotherapy obedience (p-value=0,013); expense and chemotherapy obedience (p-value=0,036); family support and chemotherapy obedience (p-value=0,002); side-effects and chemotherapy obedient (p-value=0,007). It is hoped that all the employee in BLUD dr.Zainal Abidin Hospital Banda Aceh can improve nursing management and enhance operational standard procedure on chemotherapy for patients, especially for breast cancer patients.

Abstract

Dragonflies are one of the odonata order insects used as predators and bioindicators. The existence of a dragonfly is influenced by various types of habitat. Cabang Panti Research Station is a research station located in area of Gunung Palung National Park which has an area of 2,100 ha and has different type of habitat. This research is to know types of dragonfly at Cabang Panti Research Station. This research was conducted in four habitat types is freshwater swamp, alluvial, lowland sandstone and lowland granite. The catching of samples was done by using insect net. Dragonflies found in Cabang Panti Research Station is 787 individuals, two suborders, eight families, 10 genera and 15 species. Two suborders found is Zygoptera and Anisoptera, the eight families is Aeshnidae, Calopterygidae, Coenagrionidae, Chlorocyphidae, Euphaeidae, Libellulidae, Megapodagrionidae, and Platycnemididae. The most commonly species found of dragonflies are Euphaea subcostalis (275 individuals or 34.94%), Euphaea impar (160 individuals or 20.33%) and Rhinagrion borneense (78 individuals or 9.91%) whereas species found are Amphicnemis gracillis (1 individual or 0.12%) and Elattoneura analis (2 individuals or 0.25%).

Abstract

Freshwater crabs have an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. The purpose of research is to know the freshwater crabs and habitat characteristics of Cabang Panti Research Station in Gunung Palung National Park, Kayong Utara Regency. We use a purposive Random sampling and hand collecting methods to inventory of the freshwater crabs. The Cabang Panti Research Station has a three species of freshwater crabs, namely Parathelphusa maindroni, Terrathelphusa sp. and Isolapoamon spatha. Parahelphusa maindroni is the most abundance in freshwater swamps and alluvial habitat.

Abstract

The existence of Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera and Trichoptera (EPT) macroinvertebrates in water can be used as the indicators to identify the water quality. This study aims to determine the diversity of Macroinvertebrates and physical and chemical factors in water of the Mentuka River. Macroinvertebrate sampling was carried out in February 2018 using random with surber and dip net at three stations spread overthe upstream, middle and downstream of the Mentuka River. The measurements chemicals and physical factors such as water temperature, brightness, current velocity, depth, TDS, TSS, acidity (pH), dissolved oxygen (DO) and free carbon dioxide (CO2), which is carried out together with macroinvertebrates sampling. There are 378 macroinvertebrates individuals belonging to nine genera, namely Polypedilum, Hydropsyche, Anthopotamus, Baetis, Acroneuria, Libellula, Rhyacophila, Parathelphusa and Macrobrachium in Mentuka River. The Ephemeroptera, Baetis is the most abundance with 5.76 ind/m2. Based on the diversity index, the Mentuka was categorized as moderately polluted river.

Abstract

The potential for freshwater aquaculture in West Kalimantan is still high, including one of them is the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal growth and best survival rate by a combination of Fish, Earthworm Pheretima sp. and Brown seaweed Sargassum spp flour. The method used is Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and five replications. The result showed that treatments with > 60% plant raw materials shows the best resulting not only growth but also survival rate. Feed with a combination of these raw materials showed an allometric positive growth pattern.

Abstract

Movement patterns has been observed in black-spotted rock frog (Staurois gutattus). The aim of this study was to obtain data movement patterns. This research was conducted at Mountain Poteng, West Kalimantan. Data were analized graphically to explain the relationship between the used parameters. There are 20 individual frogs were observed for 24 hours by using a spool track, which consists of 10 males and females. Chi square test result values of alignment grooves conducted on 20 individual frogs were observed during the 24 hours of observation showed that the χ2 count < χ2 table with a value of (χ2 = 0,61 < 3,481, p = 0,05; Chi square test), it shows that the pattern of movement of male and female frogs do not stay away from the starting point of observation.

Abstract

Prawn are being polluted by lead from transportation, industrial and others activity around of Kapuas River. The purpose of this research was find out concentration of lead (Pb) in various prawn’s flesh. Sample of prawns were collected using purposive sampling. Concentration lead was measured by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry method at Directorate Research and Industrial Standardization West Borneo. Data were subjected on ANOVA and correlation test. This research was used Endeavouri prawn (Metapenaeus ensis), Tiger Cat Shrimp (Parapenaeopsis sculptilis) and White Prawn (Penaeus merguiensis). Concentration of lead in prawn’s flesh were collected on April and May were <0.04 mg/kg. Concentration of lead that analyzed on June in P. merguiensis was lowest (0.065 mg/kg) and the highest was in M. ensis (0.073 mg/kg). There was no differences of lead concentration in various species were collected on common month. The differences of lead concentration were significant found in common species were collected on various month. The concentration of lead were below by allowed quality standard for prawn which is 0.5 mg/kg. There was no correlation between number of sample, body length and rainfall to concentration of lead in prawn’s flesh. The was correlation between number of rainy day and ship to concentration of lead in prawn’s flesh.

Abstract

Terebellobranchia sp. is a member of the Terebellidae family, which is known to have a high level of morphological variation. The aims of research was to know morphometric variations and the relationship of body size and uncini of Terebellobranchia sp. in Lemukutan Island. The measurements body and uncini were carried out on complete specimens with digital caliper, while uncini measuring under a microscope with eyepiece micrometer. Data analysis with t test in 64 individuals. The Terebellobranchia sp. found in station 2 had a significantly different size with Terebellobranchia sp. in other stations. The body length of Terebellobranchia sp. shows a strong correlation with the width, number of segments and body weight, meanwhile the width of the segment strongly correlated with size of uncini.

Abstract

Diversity of fish species is important  known to determinate river. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity and distribution of fish also environmental conditions in the lower reaches of the Sekadau River, West Kalimantan. Data collection is conducted from March to May 2018 using posat and gill net. The results showed that the most common Cyprinidae family was found in Rasbora argyrotaenia  and Osteochilus microcephalus with dominance value  0.72 and 0.70 respectively.

Abstract

Gastropods are an invertebrata which has an important role as an indicator quality mangrove forest. The presence of Gastropods in Sepok Keladi mangrove forest was decreasing due the habitat degradation and it impact on the Gastropods community. The purpose of this research is to determine the diversity of Gastropod species in mangrove forest Sepok Keladi Island Kakap River District Kubu Raya Regency. This study uses purposive random sampling method at six different stations with two 5x5m2 size plots in each station and four replication. The study found four families of Gastropods, i.e. Ellobidae, Littorinidae, Neritidae and Potamidiidae. Epifauna Gastropods found nine species and are five of them are treefauna. The most species foundy Cerethidae obtusa from Potamididae family.
