Abstract

Estuaries provide valuable ecosystem services, but they are also subject to environmental pressures due to high anthropogenic activities. The diversity and abundance of Polychaete can be used as indicators of the health of the Kapuas estuary, but supporting data are currently lacking. The objective of this research is to assess the quality of the Kapuas estuary through a Polychaete community approach. The study employed a survey method by selecting ten Polychaete sampling points based on their surrounding environmental conditions. Samples were collected from each point using a Petite Ponar grab, filtered, sorted, and grouped by family. The Polychaete specimens were identified up to the genus level. The data were analyzed descriptively. A total of 108 Polychaete individuals were found, comprising nine genera and seven families. The highest abundance was observed in the genera Capitella (Capitellidae) and Sternaspis (Sternaspidae), with 778 ind.m-2and 667 ind.m-2, respectively. The diversity of Polychaete in the Kapuas estuary was classified as low, with diversity index ranging from 0.5 to 1.21. The high abundance, low diversity, and presence of indicator genera of organic pollutants such as Capitella indicate that the Kapuas estuary is affected by organic contamination

Abstract

Namalycastis spp. is deposit feeder animal because it eats by utilizing organic matter and omnivorous. The existence of Namalycastis has been found inhabit naturally decomposing nipa fronds (Nypa fruticans). Data regarding the colonization of Namalycastis are currently not available. The purpose of the study is to discover the first time and the peak of colonizations and the number of individual Namalycastis based on the depth of placement of different nipa fronds in Kakap River Mangrove Area of West Borneo. Sampling was carried out at three depths: 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm, and 20-30 cm for three months within a 10 days collection period. The highest number of Namalycastis individual during the study were found in nipa fronds placed at depth of 0-10 cm is 616 individuals with the highest number found in week 4 of incubation. Soil texture in Sungai Kakap mangrove forest was dominated by dust with C-organic content decreased as the number of individual nipa worms decreased.

Abstract

Ikan tembakul (Boleophthalmus boddarti) ialah ikan yang seringkali dijumpai pada wilayah mangrove, ikan yang mampu berjalan di darat, serta memijah pada lubang lumpur kawasan persembunyian.  Ikan ini dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan pangan, obat tradisional maupun umpan untuk memancing, tetapi masih banyak dari sebagian masyarakat yang tidak mengetahui manfaatnya. Penurunan kualitas lingkungan di Kawasan Wisata Religi Kong Khew Pak Kung Kecamatan Sungai Pinyuh akibat penumpukan sampah diduga dapat menurunkan populasi ikan tembakul. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik reproduksi ikan tembakul yang meliputi nisbah kelamin, faktor kondisi, Tingkat Kematangan Gonad (TKG), Indeks Kematangan Gonad (IKG), fekunditas dan diameter telur. Penelitian ini dilakukan mulai Desember 2022 hingga Februari 2023 dengan metode random sampling menggunakan alat tangkap jaring dengan panjang 10 m dan lebar mata jaring 1/1,5 inch. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Nisbah kelamin didapatkan 1:1 dengan dominansi ikan muda dengan Tingkat Kematangan Gonad (I-II). Indeks kematangan gonad (IKG) jantan rata-rata berkisar 0,07-1,93% dan nilai IKG betina rata-rata berkisar 0,06-5,76%. Fekunditas sebanyak 42.212-80.198 butir dengan diameter telur antara 0,15-0,60 mm dan termasuk dalam kelompok pemijahan serempak (total spawner).

Abstract

Sifat biologi elasmobranchii seperti fekunditas rendah, pertumbuhan lambat, umur relatif panjang danresiko kematian tinggi pada semua tingkat umur menjadikannya kelompok ikan yang memiliki resiko kepunahan palingcepat dibandingkan kelompok lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui komposisi, keanekaragaman dan rasiokelamin ikan elasmobranchii. Hasil penelitian dikoleksi sebanyak 31 spesies yang termasuk dalam 7 famili dan 238individu. Ikan pari ditemukan sebanyak 24 spesies dan 169 individu, sedangkan hiu tujuh spesies dan 69 individu.Indeks keanekaragaman ikan elasmobranchii antara 1,77-3,75.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam pengolahan makanan tradisional bubur pedas instan adalah tahap pengeringan bahan baku. Bubur pedas instan dengan bahan baku berbagai daun-daun membutuhkan proses pengeringan yang efisien untuk menjaga aroma, warna, dan kandungan gizi daun. Berdasarkan permasalah tersebut, dilakukan pengembangan pengering tipe rotari yang sesuai untuk pengeringan bahan baku bubur pedas instan. Tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah melakukan pengembangan pengering tipe rotari serta melakukan uji performansi pengering tersebut dalam proses pengeringan bahan baku bubur pedas instan. Pengembangan pengering ini dilakukan dengan menambahkan 1 buah drum bagian dalam yang ditutup wiremesh untuk mencegah kontak langsung antara drum pemanas dan bahan baku. Data yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini mencakup laju pengeringan dan penurunan kadar air. Data tersebut diukur setiap 20 menit dengan waktu proses pengeringan 120 menit. Massa setiap bahan baku yang diuji adalah 200 gram. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa pengering tipe rotari hasil pengembangan berhasil meningkatkan efisiensi pengeringan. Proses pengeringan selama 120 menit mampu mengurangi kadar air daun pakis 78,69%, daun singkil 61,01% dan daun katuk 54,92%. Kualitas pengeringan menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik secara visual, dimana  bahan yang dikeringkan lebih hijau.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to develop Bubbor Paddas, a Sambas culinary specialty, into an instant competitive product in national and international markets. The development process employed the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method, involving students and industry partners in all stages of production, including vegetable drying, seasoning preparation, packaging, and marketing. Food technology innovations, particularly in drying and packaging techniques, were applied to maintain the original flavor and texture of Bubbor Paddas. The results indicated a 30% increase in production efficiency and enhanced product packaging quality, making it more durable and visually appealing. Additionally, digital marketing strategies were implemented, leading to a 40% increase in product orders within three months of launch. This initiative not only improved the quality and competitiveness of local products but also positively impacted community empowerment and the preservation of Sambas culinary heritage. The findings highlight the importance of integrating modern technology and marketing strategies in developing innovative and sustainable traditional culinary products.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman jenis ikan di Indonesia menggambarkan evolusi jenis terhadap lingkungan tertentu dan seluruh cakupan adaptasi ekologi yang dapat berbeda dari satu lokasi ke lokasi lain. Kalimantan Barat dijuluki sebagai provinsi seribu sungai karena memiliki ribuan anak sungai yang mendukung beragamnya jenis ikan. Sungai Peniti Kecil merupakan salah satu sungai di Kabupaten Mempawah yang memiliki perairan lahan gambut dan kondisi yang berbeda-beda di sepanjang sungai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeterminasi komposisi dan keanekaragaman jenis ikan di Sungai Peniti Kecil Kabupaten Mempawah. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama tiga bulan mulai dari Mei hingga Juli 2024 dengan metode Purposive Sampling menggunakan alat tangkap bubu 8 lubang, jaring angkat (Anco) 3x3 m, pancingan, jaring insang 2” 10 m, dan serokan. Hasil penelitian memperoleh 15 famili dan 32 jenis ikan dengan total 765 individu. Sebagian besar famili ikan yang telah didapatkan merupakan ikan khas perairan gambut karena kemampuannya yang dapat beradaptasi dan memiliki organ respirasi tambahan (Anabantidae, Channidae, Clariidae, Helostomidae, Nandidae, Osphronemidae). Analisis indeks keanekaragaman masuk dalam kategori sedang, indeks dominansi masuk dalam kategori rendah, indeks kemerataan masuk dalam kategori tinggi, dan indeks kekayaan jenis masuk dalam kategori rendah.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the struggle regarding the stigma and discrimination of church members towards PLWHA. PLWHA are stigmatized as sinners because the congregation often identifies HIV/AIDS as a disease caused by sin. The author found this case in the Toraja Church, Batusura Congregation. To minimize cases of discrimination in the congregation's perspective towards PLWHA, the author analyzed the pastoral approach model found in the story of Job. Job's suffering is a critique of retributive theology which always generalizes disease as a result of sin. Job's friends visited Job and helped him understand his suffering with a deductive pastoral approach and retributive theology as the basis of thinking. However, God showed Job's friends the error and claimed that Job's suffering was under the authority of His wisdom and creativity. The author found that Job's story emphasizes a correlational pastoral approach. This approach rejects discrimination and generalization towards PLWHA because not all diseases are the result of sin, including PLWHA. The stigma of a sinner will not restore PLWHA but instead discriminate against them. A correlational approach can also help congregations encounter other causes of HIV/AIDS that are not sinful acts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14: Life Below Water into accounting practices and sustainability reporting of PT PELNI (Persero). The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method using content analysis of annual and sustainability reports from 2019 to 2023. The findings reveal that PT PELNI implemented various initiatives such as mangrove planting, coral reef restoration, ship waste management, emission reduction, and coastal community education. These programs can be classified as blue expenses aligned with SDG 14 indicators and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. Although there has been significant progress in narrative disclosure, transparency, and quantification of activities over time, the classification of blue expenses has not been explicitly presented in official reports. The evaluation shows that narrative integration and data transparency are adequate, while financial classification and indicator mapping remain partial. This study recommends the development of a blue expense classification system, integration of SDG–GRI–cost–output mapping into sustainability reporting, and improvement of data auditability. Therefore, PT PELNI has the potential to become a pioneer in applying blue accounting within Indonesia’s maritime sector.

Abstract

The need for energy is increasing as the population grows. Efforts to produce alternative energy continue. One of them is by utilizing materials that are more environmentally friendly, more economical, and easily obtained. Therefore, the utilization of coconut sells in briquettes is one of the alternative fuels for energy fulfillment. The use of this material is also a form of handling coconut waste that has not been optimally utilized. The method used in making this briquette is by combining it with various types of adhesives such as sago flour, tapioca and rice with various variations in the on combustibility, moisture content, and shatter index. Variations in the amount of adhesive used were 6%, 8% and 10%. Drying of the briquettes was carried out in an oven with temperatures of 60°C. The results showed that the best briquettes in the 60°C drying temperature treatment had a combustibility value of 0.0300 gr/min with 10% sago adhesive. Moisture content is 3.8314% with 6% rice adhesive. Shatter index with a value of 0.0763% with 8% rice adhesive.
