Abstract

The research aims to evaluate the program of the Pancasila student profile strengthening project in elementary schools in Semarang Regency, Indonesia. This research method used the CSE-UCLA evaluation model with a qualitative approach that included the aspects of program assessment, program planning, program implementation, program improvement, and program certification. The data sources came from the school principal/curriculum teachers, classroom teachers, students, and the parents of students at Pangudi Luhur Ambarawa Elementary School and Tlompakan 1 Tuntang Elementary School in Semarang Regency. Data collection was through interviews, document studies, and observations. The data analysis technique used qualitative descriptive methods. The research results showed that in the Assessment program, P5 was implemented in accordance with the vision, mission, and objectives. The theme and project options were chosen based on environmental issues and the needs of the students, and the project was also supported by the parents; Program planning, both schools had goals to be achieved in P5 so that the project ran with a clear direction and purpose; Program implementation, teachers have good strategies in carrying out P5 but improvements were needed in the socialization of the P5 program; Program improvement, there needs to be enhancements in the documentation of monitoring and supervision results; Certification program, the goals of the P5 program were achieved and all parties were satisfied with the existence of the P5 program, which had a positive impact on the students. The P5 program was running well, and all stakeholders were satisfied. However, there was a need for improvement in documentation and communication with students' parents. In addition, it is necessary to broaden project options, support teachers, and encourage them to prioritize character development over tangible results.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the leadership traits of effective school principals in improving the quality of education. The method used in this research was a mixed method with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects of this research were principals, teachers, and education personnel in Semarang Regency. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using percentage and categorical, while qualitative data were analyzed using an interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicated that the personality traits of effective principals in improving the quality of education include: aspects of intelligence in the high category (85%), aspects of self-confidence (85%), persistence (88%), integrity (90%), and agreeableness (94%) included in the very high category. The findings of this study showed that principals' personality traits could change when dealing with senior teachers when the principal's tenure is coming to an end, when they are transferred or when they are about to retire.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the stages of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the school partnership program with parents during distance learning. This research used qualitative and descriptive approaches. The subjects are the school principal, five subject teachers, one deputy principal, two representatives of students' parents, one head of administration, and two school committee members. The data are collected using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The data are analyzed through three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification.The findings indicate that during the planning stage, the partnership team has prepared some actions such as 1) first-day school activities; 2) parental activities; 3) inspirational activities; 4) parents’ involvement in self-development activities and 5) social activities. At the implementation stage, the school partnership team, along with the students’ parents, carries out some activities which involve the parents' association and school committee members based on the action plan that has been set previously. The monitoring process shows that the partnership program involves the parents' associations, the school committee members, and the teachers. The evaluation step shows that the action plan has been implemented effectively despite some issues.

Abstract

Principal leadership is the ability to mobilize existing resources in a school whichwill be used optimally to achieve the expected goals. In this study, the main objectiveis to describe how a principal improves teacher performance in leadership. Techniques tocollect the data needed in this study use interview, observation, and documentationtechniques. For data using interactive analysis models from Miles and Huberman,namely collecting data, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Inthis research, it produces a leadership style carried out by the principal, such as using aleadership style that is seen in the processes that the principal goes through in meetingactivities, makes decisions, and acts in determining a solution or problem that arises. Inprincipal leadership, the principal is a reflection, motivator, and guide for teachers,students, and people involved in the school environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pandangan masyarakat Papua terhadap pendidikan sepanjang hayat, mengidentifikasi kebutuhan, hambatan, serta solusi yang relevan dengan akses dan implementasi pendidikan sepanjang hayat di Papua. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipatif sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Papua memiliki pemahaman yang terbatas mengenai pendidikan sepanjang hayat, yang umumnya dipandang sebagai pendidikan formal atau terbatas pada usia muda. Meskipun demikian, terdapat segmen masyarakat yang mulai menyadari pentingnya pendidikan sepanjang hayat, terutama dalam pengembangan keterampilan praktis yang sesuai dengan kehidupan sehari-hari mereka. Selain itu, temuan menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan terhadap pendidikan non-formal, seperti pelatihan keterampilan teknis dan kerajinan, sangat tinggi. Hambatan utama dalam mengakses pendidikan sepanjang hayat adalah keterbatasan infrastruktur, kesulitan ekonomi, dan keterbatasan teknologi. Meskipun ada potensi teknologi sebagai solusi, akses terbatas terhadap perangkat dan internet menjadi tantangan signifikan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa untuk meningkatkan pendidikan sepanjang hayat di Papua, perlu adanya kebijakan yang lebih inklusif dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan lokal, termasuk pengembangan infrastruktur pendidikan dan literasi digital. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan di Papua, serta kontribusi terhadap pemahaman tentang pendidikan sepanjang hayat di daerah terpencil.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the challenges and opportunities in implementing artificial intelligence (AI) at SDN Inpres Doyo Lama. Through a qualitative approach, this study involved in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and the school principal. The results showed that the main constraints in implementing AI were the lack of adequate infrastructure, as well as the limited knowledge and skills of teachers in utilizing AI technology. However, this study also identified the great potential of AI in improving the quality of education, especially in terms of personalized learning and access to a wider range of learning materials. "Teachers at SDN Inpres Doyo Lama, like teachers at other elementary schools, are often burdened by a heavy workload of administrative tasks. From creating lesson plans, grading student assignments, managing grades, to creating reports, all of these tasks consume a significant amount of time. As a result, the time that should be used to interact directly with students and develop teaching materials is reduced. Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers innovative solutions to address this problem. By utilizing various AI-based applications, teachers can automate some routine administrative tasks."

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengelolaan sumber dana di TK Kristen 1 UKSW dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kelangsungan operasional pendidikan. Pengelolaan dana pendidikan yang efisien sangat penting untuk mendukung mutu pendidikan di sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, guru, dan orang tua siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sumber dana utama berasal dari iuran bulanan orang tua siswa, berupa Sumbangan Pengembangan Pendidikan (SPP) dan uang pangkal tahunan. Selain itu, sekolah juga mendapat dukungan dana eksternal seperti bantuan dari Dinas Pendidikan (BOSP) dan kerjasama dengan Fakultas Pertanian UKSW untuk kegiatan pendidikan. Sekolah mengelola dana dengan perencanaan anggaran tahunan yang berfokus pada pemenuhan kebutuhan operasional dan peningkatan fasilitas. Namun, tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah keterlambatan pembayaran SPP oleh sebagian orang tua siswa, yang mempengaruhi kelancaran operasional sekolah. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan pengelolaan sumber dana sangat bergantung pada transparansi, kerjasama dengan pihak eksternal, dan perencanaan yang baik untuk menjaga kelangsungan dan mutu pendidikan di TK Kristen 1 UKSW.

Abstract

The SPIES training model in Collaborative Learning materials serves as a tool to improve teacher competency in 21st-century learning. This training syntax helps teachers understand Collaborative Learning concepts and practices. This study aims to produce a more collaborative training syntax called the SPIES training model and improve teacher teaching competence. This type of research is development research. This R&D applies the Borg and Gall model, which is integrated with the Dick and Carrey training model. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires, in-depth interviews, pre-test, and post-tests. The subjects of this study were 15 teachers from three private schools. Experts who validate the design and materials ensure the training model and material feasibility. The data analysis included testing the validity and reliability of the instruments used. The normality distribution test and paired t-test were carried out to examine the effect of training. The results of this study are that the SPIES training model has been validated by experts with a feasibility level of 88.24% (very feasible). The material feasibility check percentage is 91.67% (very possible). The t-test results show that the post-test is different from the pre-test. The SPIES training model is effective for increasing teacher competency in 21st-century learning. It was concluded that the SPIES training model is feasible for improving teacher competency.

Abstract

The integration of technology into education enhances learning experiences, one of which is through the use of Nearpod. The objectives of this study are to (1) describe ICT-based social science learning management through the use of the Nearpod application in primary education and (2) describe the participation of primary education students in social science learning and their responses to the use of the Nearpod application. This qualitative research involved a social sciences teacher and seventh-grade students at YSKI Christian Middle School Semarang. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and validated using triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that Nearpod-based learning management includes careful planning with lesson plans and interactive activities, implementation through apperception, interactive videos, and PowerPoint slides, and evaluation using game features like Matching Pairs and Time to Climb. Students responded positively, highlighting Nearpod's ease of use, engaging activities, and real-time feedback, though some faced time constraints. This study contributes to the utilization of Nearpod in ICT-based social studies learning, increasing student engagement, and providing insight into the effectiveness of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in elementary education in Indonesia. Further research is recommended to explore Nearpod's effectiveness across subjects and educational levels to enhance teaching methods and student engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze organizational strategies in managing educational resources at SMK Karmel Tangerang, Banten. The primary focus of this research is on the organization of educators, facilities and infrastructure, as well as educational financing. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that SMK Karmel Tangerang has implemented effective organizational strategies in managing human resources, facilities, and budgets. Mapping educators based on their competencies, regular maintenance of educational facilities, and transparent budget management are strengths in the school’s management. However, this study also identified several challenges in inter-departmental coordination, which can affect the operational effectiveness of the school. Therefore, it is recommended to improve communication and coordination among school components to enhance the effectiveness of organization in supporting the achievement of optimal educational goals.
