Abstract

The SPIES training model in Collaborative Learning materials serves as a tool to improve teacher competency in 21st-century learning. This training syntax helps teachers understand Collaborative Learning concepts and practices. This study aims to produce a more collaborative training syntax called the SPIES training model and improve teacher teaching competence. This type of research is development research. This R&D applies the Borg and Gall model, which is integrated with the Dick and Carrey training model. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires, in-depth interviews, pre-test, and post-tests. The subjects of this study were 15 teachers from three private schools. Experts who validate the design and materials ensure the training model and material feasibility. The data analysis included testing the validity and reliability of the instruments used. The normality distribution test and paired t-test were carried out to examine the effect of training. The results of this study are that the SPIES training model has been validated by experts with a feasibility level of 88.24% (very feasible). The material feasibility check percentage is 91.67% (very possible). The t-test results show that the post-test is different from the pre-test. The SPIES training model is effective for increasing teacher competency in 21st-century learning. It was concluded that the SPIES training model is feasible for improving teacher competency.

Abstract

Community service activities were carried out for lecturers at the Education, Arts and Humanities Faculty, Universitas Nasional Timor Lorosa’ e. This activity aimed to improve lecturers' skills in understanding the concepts and practices of educational research methodologies (research and development, evaluation, and ethnography). The training was carried out online using the Zoom meeting application and WhatsApp. The results of community services show that the level of participant satisfaction with the training quantitatively is 86%, with a very good category. This result is supported by a qualitative evaluation that shows that training runs effectively and efficiently, adds knowledge and skills, is flexible, and encourages independence. This shows that community service activities through online-based training have an impact on increasing lecturers' knowledge to practically apply the concept of research methodology in higher education.

Abstract

The integration of technology into education enhances learning experiences, one of which is through the use of Nearpod. The objectives of this study are to (1) describe ICT-based social science learning management through the use of the Nearpod application in primary education and (2) describe the participation of primary education students in social science learning and their responses to the use of the Nearpod application. This qualitative research involved a social sciences teacher and seventh-grade students at YSKI Christian Middle School Semarang. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and validated using triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that Nearpod-based learning management includes careful planning with lesson plans and interactive activities, implementation through apperception, interactive videos, and PowerPoint slides, and evaluation using game features like Matching Pairs and Time to Climb. Students responded positively, highlighting Nearpod's ease of use, engaging activities, and real-time feedback, though some faced time constraints. This study contributes to the utilization of Nearpod in ICT-based social studies learning, increasing student engagement, and providing insight into the effectiveness of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in elementary education in Indonesia. Further research is recommended to explore Nearpod's effectiveness across subjects and educational levels to enhance teaching methods and student engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the preparation of internship reports at SMK Karmel and analyze its impact on efficiency, quality, and the development of students' skills. In this research, AI is used to assist students in composing reports by providing structural guidance, content analysis, and suggestions for improving writing quality. The findings of the study indicate that the use of AI technology enhances the efficiency of report preparation by reducing the time needed for writing and revising reports. Additionally, the quality of internship reports has significantly improved in terms of structure, grammar, and writing fluency. However, several challenges remain in its implementation, such as the readiness of students and teachers to use this technology and AI’s limitations in understanding the context of students' specific experiences. The study also found that the implementation of AI not only improves students' technical skills in using technology but also enriches their critical and analytical thinking skills. Based on these findings, it is recommended to provide further training for students and teachers and to continue developing the AI platform to enhance its ability to adapt to students' contextual experiences

Abstract

This study aims to analyze organizational strategies in managing educational resources at SMK Karmel Tangerang, Banten. The primary focus of this research is on the organization of educators, facilities and infrastructure, as well as educational financing. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that SMK Karmel Tangerang has implemented effective organizational strategies in managing human resources, facilities, and budgets. Mapping educators based on their competencies, regular maintenance of educational facilities, and transparent budget management are strengths in the school’s management. However, this study also identified several challenges in inter-departmental coordination, which can affect the operational effectiveness of the school. Therefore, it is recommended to improve communication and coordination among school components to enhance the effectiveness of organization in supporting the achievement of optimal educational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of educational supervision in enhancing teacher professionalism at SMK Karmel Tangerang Banten. The approach used in this research is qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that educational supervision at SMK Karmel has a significant impact on improving teachers' pedagogical, social, and personality competencies. Through supervision carried out by the principal and supervisors, teachers receive constructive feedback that allows them to develop teaching skills, improve communication and collaboration with colleagues, and foster professional attitudes in carrying out their duties. Additionally, supervision based on teacher development and empowerment also plays a crucial role in enhancing teachers' motivation and confidence. However, the study also identifies some challenges in the implementation of supervision, such as limited time and teachers' discomfort with evaluative approaches that focus too much on weaknesses. Overall, educational supervision conducted with a collaborative and supportive approach plays an important role in improving teacher professionalism at SMK Karmel. This study contributes to the development of supervision policies in vocational high schools to enhance the quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a peer-based academic supervision model to enhance 21st-century teaching skills in elementary schools. The research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the Borg & Gall model, utilizing a mixed-method design with a Sequential Exploratory Design. The research subjects consist of teachers from SD Negeri Banyubiru 01, Semarang Regency, Central Java Province. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, which were subsequently analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Product validation involved two experts (content and language). Qualitative data validation applied source triangulation and technique triangulation, while quantitative data validation employed expert judgment. Qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, while quantitative data were processed using the Mann-Whitney statistical test. Expert validation resulted in an average score of 90% (categorized as highly feasible) for content and 93% (highly feasible) for language. The findings indicate that the peer-based academic supervision model positively impacts teachers' teaching skills, as evidenced by the Mann-Whitney test results, which reveal a significant difference in teachers' pedagogical competence before and after the implementation of academic supervision. Through this approach, teachers can exchange experiences, provide constructive feedback, and enhance their professional teaching practices. Moreover, the model fosters a collaborative school culture and encourages innovation in teaching methods. The peer-based academic supervision model has proven effective in improving teachers’ teaching skills in the context of 21st-century education. Therefore, this model is recommended for broader implementation with policy support from schools and educational authorities to sustainably enhance the quality of teaching and learning.

Abstract

Perkembangan era digital mendorong guru untuk mampu memadukan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan perkembangan saat ini dan kebutuhan siswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran interaktif adalah model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament yang menggabungkan kuis berbasis permainan dengan menggunakan Quizwhizzer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran TGT (Teams Games Tournament) terintegrasi Quizwhizzer untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem reproduksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAS Karya Dharma Veteran Sambi, Boyolali. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Mixed Methods dengan memberikan angket dan wawancara kepada siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, tes, wawancara, dan observasi. Teknik validasi data kualitatif menggunakan triangulasi data dan triangulasi metode. Teknik validasi data kuantitatif menggunakan expert judgement. Analisis data kualitatif menggunakan teknik Milles dan Huberman yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan analisis persentase. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,56 dengan kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi model pembelajaran TGT terpadu Quizwhizzer dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang interaktif dan menyenangkan sehingga berdampak positif terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

Abstract

The Indonesia Smart Program (PIP) is an aid from the Indonesian government that aims to provide educational assistance to underprivileged students in order to increase access to education for all citizens. Given the importance of PIP funds in equalizing access to education, this program has challenges in its implementation that can affect the effectiveness of the PIP program. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of PIP in senior high schools to find the problems faced. This research uses a Mix Methods approach by giving questionnaires to students and in-depth interviews to school principals and parents. Data collection techniques use questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Qualitative data validation techniques use data triangulation and method triangulation. Quantitative data validation techniques use expert judgment. Qualitative data analysis uses Milles and Huberman techniques, which include data collection, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. Quantitative data analysis uses percentage analysis. The role of schools in the PIP program is to provide opportunities for students who experience economic constraints to obtain PIP assistance. Parents play a role in ensuring that the PIP funds obtained are budgeted for the fulfillment of children's educational needs and not for other purposes. So that the role of schools in monitoring students who receive PIP needs to be done systematically. The data obtained shows that PIP funds have a positive impact on meeting educational needs by 76.5% in the good category, the impact of PIP on academic aspects by 62.9% in the good category. The PIP program has an impact on motivation and sustainability of education by 72.94% in the good category.

Abstract

The development of technology , have given birth to Artificial Intelligence (AI) which  has an impact on the education sector. Wise application of AI can improve more personalized learning for students. Teachers as facilitators need to master AI to carry out learning. However, there are still teachers who are not ready to adapt the development of AI in learning. This study aims to (1) Determine the readiness of Biology teachers at SMA N 1 Ampel in implementing Artificial Intelligence-based learning, (2) Determine the application of Artificial Intelligence technology in learning, (3) Determine the obstacles and solutions to the application of AI in Biology learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method implemented at SMAN 1 Ampel. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations and documentation. Data analysis using Milles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study obtained a) Teachers' understanding in implementing AI and the readiness of school facilities and infrastructure in the sufficient category. b) AI has a positive impact on access to materials, but can trigger students to become dependent on AI, c) Implementation of AI in learning is still constrained by limited access to facilities and infrastructure. From this study, equal access to technology is very important to ensure meaningful learning for students. The importance of ongoing training for teachers to be able to utilize AI effectively in Biology learning.
