Abstract

The aim of this research is (1) to be able to describe the differences in learning outcomes for writing religious short stories between groups of students taught with project-based learning strategies and groups of students taught with conventional strategies. (2) to be able to describe the differences in learning outcomes of writing religious short stories between groups of students who have high interest in reading short stories and students who have low interest in reading and (3) to be able to describe the interaction between project-based learning strategies and interest in reading short stories on ability write a short religious story for class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Deli Tua for the 2023-2024 academic year. The population in this study was the entire class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Deli Tua for the 2023-2024 academic year, totaling 160 students. The sample in this study consisted of 2 classes, namely classes VII-1 and VII-2, class VII-1 as the experimental class, and class VII-2 as the control class. The instrument used was a questionnaire and the students' ability to write short stories was a work test. From the results of the research conducted, it can be seen that the mean ability to write short stories in the experimental class was 83.19, while the control class was 72.22; The mean interest of the experimental class was 88.11 while the control class was only 58.44. The conclusion of this research is that there is a difference in learning outcomes for writing religious short stories between the group of students taught with project-based learning strategies and the group of students taught with conventional strategies of 83.1.

Abstract

In the reality of education in the field, many educators still use conventional teaching materials, namely ready-to-use teaching materials, just buy, instant, without efforts to plan, prepare, and compile their own. Thus, the risk obtained is that the teaching materials they use are less attractive. An educator is required to be creative to be able to compile teaching materials that are innovative, varied, interesting, contextual, and in accordance with the level of student needs. Unfortunately, there are still many educators who still use conventional teaching materials, namely ready-to-use teaching materials, just buy, instant, without efforts to plan, prepare, and arrange their own and do not attract children's attention in learning. So image media is used as a development effort in Indonesian learning. This study aims to determine the quality of teaching materials based on the validation of material experts and media experts, determine the attractiveness of teaching materials based on student responses, and determine the average increase in student learning achievement based on pretest and postes scores. This research was carried out at UPT SPF State Elementary School Number 105272 Purwodadi Sunggal for the 2023-2024 Learning Year. This research is development research. The subjects of the study were 36 students of grade V of UPT SPF State Elementary School Number 105272 Purwodadi Sunggal for the 2023-2024 Learning Year. The data collection techniques used are tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are percentages and averages. The overall quality of teaching materials is good with a percentage of 78%. The results of the attractiveness of teaching materials based on student responses in limited trials obtained a percentage of 87% with a very interesting category, while in large group trials a percentage of 85% was obtained with a very interesting category.

Abstract

There is an opinion that considers that this Ruwatan tradition is a tradition of shirk people or can be said to believe in something other than Allah SWT. Problem formulation: (1). What is the traditional procession of ruwatan for a single girl? What is the semiotic meaning of the procession and offerings of the Ruwatan tradition for single girls at pre-wedding ceremonies in Javanese society, seen from an Islamic religious perspective in Pematang Tatal Village? This research is a qualitative descriptive study using a phenomenological approach. The research was carried out from October 2023 to January 2024 and was carried out in Pematang Tatal Village, Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Techniques for collecting data to obtain the desired data, researchers use several methods, namely: (a). observation; (b). interview or interview; and (c) documentation. Data processing methods are: a. data check (editing); b. classification (classifying); c. verification (verifying); d. analysis (analyzing); e. conclusion (concluding). The study analyzes the semiotic meaning of various Ruwatan tradition ceremonies, including Sungkeman, Siraman, Haircut, Tirakatan, and Thanksgiving Prayer. The tradition is part of the Koran teachings for Muslims. Three opinions exist: opposition, pro, and tolerant. Opponents view it as a polytheistic Javanese custom, proponents preserve it as cultural heritage, and tolerants acculturate it to Islamic values.

Abstract

The issues in this study is: How to improve the ability to use proverbs in the essays of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 104189 Kota Datar? The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of the ability to use proverbs in the essays of the students of the fifth grade of SD Negeri 104189 Kota Datar. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) using 3 cycles, namely cycle I, cycle II and cycle III, broadly speaking, there are four stages that are passed in carrying out Classroom Action Research (PTK), namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students of SD Negeri 104189 Kota Datar, a total of 39 people. The findings showed that the application of PAKEM method with proverbial teaching aids by the teachers of Grade V students of SD Negeri 104189 Kota Datar, as evidenced by the increase in student activity for each index. In the first indicator, the number of very active pupils rose from 4 in the first cycle to 10 in the second, and again to 21 in the third. The other indicators of student activity continued to increase in each cycle. The increase in the ability to use proverbs in the essays of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 104189 Kota Datar occurred significantly, this can be seen from the average value of the ability to use proverbs in cycles I, II and III. From cycle I to cycle II, the average ability to use proverbs increased from 48.84 to 69.23, an increase of 20.39, likewise from cycle II to cycle III increased from 69.23 to 75. 46 again increased by 6.23. Logically, from Cycle I to Cycle III it increased by 26.62.

Abstract

This research aims to increase the learning motivation of Class The population of this research was all class X SMA N 1 Padang Tualang, totaling 286 students, the sample for this research was 94 students. The instrument used in this research was an official letter text writing test. This research is classroom action research. The results of the research show that it can be seen that the highest score achieved by students in the ability to write expository texts before using colored picture learning media (pre-test) was 79 and the lowest score was 50 in the very poor category, while the highest score achieved by students was in the ability to write expository texts after using the media. color picture learning is 98 and the lowest score is 88 in the very good category.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the differences and effectiveness of using nature-themed image media in poetry writing lessons among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Alasa, North Nias Regency, during the 2024-2025 academic year. The subjects of this study were 28 students. The experimental method with an experimental research design was applied. Data were collected through poetry writing tests and using analyzed statistical tests. The analysis results indicate a significant difference in poetry writing performance between students taught using nature-themed image media and those taught without it. The average score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, demonstrating that using nature-themed image media effectively improves students' poetry writing skills. Furthermore, this media aids students in developing their imagination and a deeper understanding of the given theme, leading to more creative and expressive writing outcomes. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers consider using nature-themed image media in poetry writing lessons to enhance student interest and skills. Visual media relevant to the lesson theme can serve as inspiration for students, improving the quality of their written work.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of caricature drawing media in learning for Class XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Lolofitu Moi during the 2024–2025 academic year. The research focuses on (1) the feasibility of using caricature drawing media, (2) how to effectively implement it, and (3) whether it enables students to express their ideas more effectively. The study employs Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out using essay tests, and both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques were applied. The results indicate an increase in student engagement in learning. In cycle I, 20.00% of students actively participated, which rose to 60.00% in cycle III. Furthermore, the students' ability to use caricature drawing media improved significantly. The average learning outcomes increased from 46.29 in cycle I to 75.43 in cycle II, a gain of 29.14 points, and further increased to 82.57 in cycle III, marking a total improvement of 36.29 points. These findings suggest that caricature drawing media is effective in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes, making it a viable tool for creative and interactive learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the argumentative writing skills of Class X students at SMK Negeri 1 Lolofitu Moi through the application of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model. This model was chosen to help students overcome difficulties in writing arguments. The research was conducted using Classroom Action Research (PTK) with 21 students as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, field notes, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and argumentative writing tests. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, with validity ensured through peer discussions and triangulation. The study's success was measured by improvements in both learning processes and outcomes. The results show that the NHT model received positive responses from students, increasing their engagement and enthusiasm for learning. The average argumentative writing score improved significantly from 57.33 in the pre-action stage to 70.61 at the end of cycle I, and further to 77.04 at the end of cycle II, marking a 32.26% increase. Improvements were observed across various writing aspects: content (13.33%), organization (7.22%), vocabulary (26.94%), language use (17.54%), and mechanics (10.80%). These findings confirm that the NHT model effectively enhances students' argumentative writing skills.

Abstract

A Writing feature news based on interview text using the questionnaire method is one aspect of learning Indonesian in class X MAS.sFemale students are expected to be able to write feature news based on good and correct interview texts. This research aims to describe the ability to write feature news based on interview text using the questionnaire method. The population of this study were all class X MAS students at the Ar-Radhatul Hasanah Islamic boarding school in Medan, totaling 191 female students. The sample for this research was taken from 25% of the total population, namely forty-six female students who were randomly distributed in each local class X. The method used in this research was the descriptive method. This method is used in accordance with the problem and research objectives which are to describe the ability to write feature news based on interview text using a questionnaire method for class X MAS students at the Ar-Raudhatul Hasanah Islamic boarding school in Medan. Judging from the percentage distribution of scores, of the forty-six female students/students who were sampled, it was found that 34 (74%) female students were in the 80-100 range, including the very good category, and 12 (26%) female students were in the 70-79 range. included in the good category

Abstract

A language is a communication tool used in everyday life, including in social media, without using language, communication will not work properly. The use of language in social media is interesting because it can be observed as related to sentence structure which refers to syntax, morphology, semantics, phonology, and pragmatics. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out students' use of language on social media in terms of grammar and language variations. The research conducted is a descriptive analysis that will provide an overview of the phenomena studied with a qualitative approach based on observations of students' use of language on social media. The sample used in this study were 4 students of class X SMA Edu Global School who have accounts on Instagram and WhatsApp social media. The selection of this sample was done randomly. The instruments used were observation sheets for grammatical errors and observation sheets for language variations. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively to show an overview of students' use of grammar and language variations in social media. The results of observations on students' use of language on social media, it can be concluded that there are errors in the use of student grammar on social media, for example, errors in writing words and phrases, errors in the use of punctuation marks such as periods, errors in the concept of repeating words, rarely or never using capitalize the initial letters and use abbreviations for a word or errors in writing/typing.
