Abstract

The increasing of learning achievement is affected by internal and external factors. These factors are parent’s parenting and learning discipline. This research aims to analyze the role of learning discipline in mediating the effect of parent’s parenting towards student’s learning achievement. Population in this research is fifth-grade elementary students in the district of Kebonagung, Demak in year 2017/2018. The sampling technique used is random cluster sampling with two-stage cluster sampling. Data collection in this research use questionnaire, documentation, and observation of student’s learning discipline. The analysis result stated that there is the positive and significant effect of parent’s parenting through learning achievement (50.9%); learning discipline through student’s learning achievement (37.7%); and parent’s parenting through learning discipline (67.7%). We also found that there is an impact of learning discipline as the mediation of parent’s parenting through learning achievement (25.4%). This finding lead parent’s to more responsive towards problems that associated with parent’s parenting and learning discipline.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in SD Muhammadiyah (Plus) Salatiga. This research applied descriptive method with qualitative approach. The data analysis was collected through semi-structured interviews, observation and documentation study. The data validity technique was done by using triangulation technique and resources.The results of this study showed that SD Muhammadiyah (Plus) Salatiga has run character education which is integrated in the school's policy, it is evidenced by the inclusion of character values environmental care, religious, autonom, love of the homeland, polite and courteous into the vision, mission and school programs. The characters of honest, thorough, innovative and independent also have been integrated in the classroom, it is seen in the Lesson Plan and the media that were created by teachers.The school also has instilled a religious character, cooperation and empathy in the community-based character education, it is evidenced by their happy Ta'jil event in Ramadan, the distribution of basic food parcels for poor people around the school and pray Eid or Eid al-Adha together, The event was held as gratitude to the cooperation between the school, the bond of students’ guardian, school committees and the school has a strategies plan to outcome by carakter buildings. The problems encountered in this study include the lack of facilities for the implementation of character education, strengthen the character education in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of PBL models assisted by interactive videos on students' problem-solving abilities. The type of research used was quantitative research with the design of the control group pre-test post-test. The study population consisted of all fourth-grade students in the Kartini Group of Kudus City. The sample was selected through a purposive sampling technique so that the fourth grade of Elementary School Glantengan was selected which amounted to 27 students as the experimental group and fourth-grade Elementary School 4 Panjunan which amounted to 29 students as the control group. Data collection techniques use test techniques. The results of this study indicate that the classical completeness of the problem-solving ability of the experimental class reaches 92.5% with an average value of 83.52. The results of the analysis of problem-solving abilities in the experimental class showed that the indicator of understanding the problem had increased from 54% to 83%. The indicator for planning has increased from 56% to 82%. The indicator of solving problems has increased from 59% to 80%. The checking indicator has increased from 58% to 81%. The experimental class N-gain score scores reached 0.62 with a moderate category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the improvement of learning outcomes and students' self-confidence with PBL and TPS models. This study uses an experimental research design with two group pre-test - post-test designs. The study population was fourth-grade students at Elementary School in East Pekalongan sub-district. Samples were taken by random sampling technique obtained by 114 children from Public Elementary School Klego 01 as many as 61 students, and Public Elementary School Poncol 2 as many as 53 students. Research data were taken from tests and observations. The data were analysed using t-test analysis, with SPSS 23 software. The results showed PBL models are more effective than TPS models on learning theme VIII sub-theme 3 learning 3 with t-test sig values < 0.05. The research concludes that the PBL and TPS models are effective in improving learning outcomes and students' self-confidence. The PBL model is more effective than the TPS model in improving student learning outcomes and self-confidence.
