Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study which aims to describe the problem solving process of a professional teacher in finding solutions to problems of the Problem With Contradiction Information type. This research involved 1 mathematics teacher who had a professional teacher education certificate and had taught for at least 5 years (S1) and 1 mathematics teacher who had taught for at least 5 years but did not yet have a professional teacher education certificate (S2) and 1 prospective teacher who was still carrying out studies. S1 and does not yet have a professional teacher education certificate (S3). Data collection was carried out by tests and interviews. The research results showed that only S3 carried out all the IDEAL problem solving indicators and was the only research subject who realized the existence of contradictions in the given problem. Meanwhile, S1 and S2 do not look back and learn. All subjects started solving the problem by reading and making propositions from the problem given. S3 stated that he read twice, namely reading in depth and reading quickly to review the known data. S1 experienced Pythagorean priming when implementing the Making a Drawing and Backwards strategy. Meanwhile, S2 in implementing the Backwards strategy often has to do some work in his working memory so there are several steps that are not written down. S2 is aware that there is unnecessary data but considers it an open ended question. Meanwhile, S3 succeeded in stating that the question contained elements of contradiction and could not be done in the anticipating outcome and looking back steps. If you want to become a good problem solver then spend most of your time identifying and understanding problems and then determining how to work. Good problem solvers are not in a hurry but are still effective in solving problems. You even need to consider whether the problem can be solved or not.

Abstract

The lack of development of Student Worksheets  that match what is needed by students can be one of the reasons why many students have difficulty understanding learning materials. This study aims to describe the process and results of the development of the mathematics worksheets based on Problem Based Learning by utilizing liveworksheets on geometric sequences and series material. The type of this research is research and development. This worksheet is designed using Canva and Microsoft Word by utilizing liveworksheets. The subjects of the field trial were 28 students of class XI. This research uses the Four D model from Thiagarajan which consists of the stages of definition, design, development, and dissemination. Data collection methods consist of observation, test, and questionnaire methods. Based on the results obtained from trials in the field, it can be concluded that the mathematics worksheets based on Problem Based Learning by utilizing liveworksheets on geometric sequences and series material met the valid, practical, and effective categories. Other researchers can make maximum use of the features provided on the liveworksheets site because in this study they only utilized a few features and must be alert in anticipating when an error occurs on the site while it is being used.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi matematis siswa berdasarkan Adversity Quotient (AQ) dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA khususnya pada konten space and shape. Subjek pada penelitian ini sebanyak 6 siswa kelas IX yang terdiri dari 2 siswa Climber (AQ tinggi), 2 siswa Camper (AQ sedang), dan 2 siswa Quitter (AQ rendah). Pengambilan subjek dilakukan dengan cara menggolongkan siswa berdasarkan hasil angket ARP. Data pada penelitian ini diambil dari jawaban siswa pada soal PISA konten space and shape dan hasil wawancara. Keabsahan data pada penelitian ini diukur menggunakan triangulasi metode. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa Climber memenuhi ketiga indikator representasi matematis. Siswa Camper juga memenuhi ketiga indikator, namun pada aspek representasi verbal, siswa Camper tidak dapat menjelaskan kembali langkah-langkah penyelesaian secara lisan. Siswa Quitter memenuhi indikator representasi visual (gambar) namun tidak memenuhi representasi simbolik (persamaan atau ekspresi matematis) dan representasi verbal (kata-kata atau teks tertulis). Hal ini mengungkapkan bahwa AQ berpengaruh terhadap representasi matematis siswa. Hasil dalam penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan acuan untuk meningkatkan representasi matematis dan daya juang siswa dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika.

Abstract

Berpikir kritis memiliki peranan krusial pada potensi memecahkan persoalan sampai penarikan kesimpulan. Proses berpikir peserta didik dipengaruhi oleh tipe kepribadian yang berbeda. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis tingkat berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah persamaan lingkaran ditinjau dari kepribadian DISC. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 4 siswa dari masing-masing tipe kepribadian. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan hanya tipe kepribadian Steadiness dan Compliance yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis sedangkan tipe kepribadian Dominance dan Influence tidak.

Abstract

Rutinitas cara berpikir siswa saat menangani permasalahan persegi menjadi data utama dalam penelitian kualitatif ini. Siswa kelas VIII SMPN 8 Probolinggo berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir siswa kelas VIII SMPN 8 Probolinggo ditinjau dari gaya kognitif field dependent dan field independent dalam penerapannya pada penyelesaian permasalahan persegi. Studi ini menyoroti pentingnya kebiasaan berpikir seperti ketekunan, refleksi pada pemikiran sendiri, fleksibilitas pikiran, dan ketepatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Tes dan wawancara dapat digunakan sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Pada tahap persisting, siswa dengan tipe kognitif field dependent dan field independent dapat menilai dengan baik informasi apa yang ada dalam masalah, yang mendukung temuan penelitian. Siswa dengan tipe kognitif yang bergantung pada lingkungan atau field dependent dan tidak bergantung pada lingkungan atau field independent dapat dengan benar menghitung solusi untuk masalah persegi dalam fase "berpikir tentang berpikir" dan "berpikir fleksibel". Siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent mampu menarik kesimpulan untuk memecahkan masalah, memeriksa kembali pekerjaannya, dan memberikan bukti pendukung bahwa jawabannya benar pada tahap mengupayakan keakuratan proses pembelajaran, sedangkan siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent tidak dapat melakukan hal-hal ini.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal AKM Numerasi berdasarkan tahapan Polya dan penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal tersebut. Tahapan Polya terdiri dari tahap memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan, melakukan rencana pemecahan, dan memeriksa kembali. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah (1) pada tahap memahami siswa yang tidak mengalami kesulitan karena siswa sudah bisa memahami masalah, (2) pada tahap perencanaan siswa juga mampu merencakan dengan baik untuk menyelesaikan soal AKM Numerasi, (3) pada tahap melaksanakan rencana terdapat beberapa kesalahan baik kesalahan penulisan pada kesimpulan serta kesalahan dalam menerapkan rumus sesuai karena kurang teliti dan tidak menyadari kesalahan yang dibuat, dan (4) pada tahap memeriksa kembali terdapat siswa yang tidak mencapai tahap ini dikarenakan masih terdapat kesalahan ditahap sebelumnya dan siswa tidak melakukan pengecekan ulang karena merasa sudah yakin

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are related to other abilities, such as conceptual understanding, application of concepts, representation, and communication of ideas. When solving problems, we must understand the problem and can do this by providing an appropriate representation of the problem. Accurate representation offers a greater opportunity to achieve the desired solution. Therefore, research on students' representations in problem-solving is essential to provide an overview of how students form representations when solving geometric problems. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects are three students from the mathematics education program at Unipdu with high, medium, and low abilities. The results show that the low-ability subject uses pictorial representation and cannot solve the problem. The medium-ability subject uses schematic and symbolic representations but with less perfection in usage, so even though the solution found is correct, it is presented in a less structured manner. Meanwhile, the high-ability subject uses schematic and symbolic representations and finds solutions in a more structured way. Keywords: Representation, Problem-Solving, Geometry

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) merupakan salah satu bidang yang penting dalam suatu penelitian. Augmented Reality (AR) ini adalah suatu teknologi yang menggabungkan objek nyata dan objek maya. Banyak bidang yang menggunakan Augmented Reality (AR), salah satunya adalah bidang Pendidikan, utamanya Matematika. Pada penelitian ini, menjelaskan penggunaan AR dalam pembelajaran tentang dimensi tiga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah agar memudahkan guru untuk memberikan materi kepada siswa sekolah dasar, menjadikan pembelajaran lebih menarik dan tidak membosankan peserta didik. Kendala yang dihadapi yaitu saat pelaksanaan wifi kurang mendukung dan setiap siswa tidak memiliki HP. Hasilnya guru merasa mendapat pengetahuan baru mengenai media pembelajaran dan siswa menjadi aktif dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study which aims to describe the errors made by students in solving HOTS mathematics problems based on Newman's error analysis. This research was conducted at MTs NU Al Badar with research subjects of 1 student with a thinking personality type and 1 student with a feeling personality type. The research instrument used in this research is a test instrument in the form of HOTS type mathematics questions with material on Building a Curved Side Room with 3 questions and an interview guide. The results of the research obtained information that the errors made by students when working on high order thinking skills (HOTS) type mathematics problems with the material Building Curved Side Spaces were divided into four types of error categories, namely errors in understanding the problem (comprehension errors), transformation errors (transformation errors). errors), processing skills errors, and errors in writing answers (encoding errors).

Abstract

This research aims to know the process and the result of the development of Mathematics Learning Instruments for ethnomathematics based curved space chapter with the help of the Google Form aplication as a support for online learning. This research is development research. Learning instruments development model refers to four D models. The product of this research are teaching materials, student’s worksheet, and evaluation test. This research took place at IX A of junior high school 2 Puger, Jember with consist 36 students. The data collection methods used in this research are the interview, test, and questionnaire. Based on data analysis, this research has three result. First, the learning instrument developed have valid criteria. Secondly, the learning instrument developed have practical criteria based on interview and student’s responses. Third, the learning instrument developed have effective criteria based on student’s score and student’s positive responses.
