Abstract

This experiment studies the impact of a magnetic field of attraction and various nitrogen pressures in the combustion chamber on the characteristics of the flame. To replace depleted fossil fuels, the usage of vegetable oil is crucial. This research aims to probe the droplet combustion of olive oil on evolution, temperature, height, and ignition delay. The camera's high speed is 120 frames per second front-facing camera records the process from the start flamed until it has extinguished. A droplet of olive oil is placed on a type K thermocouple between two magnet rods in a nitrogen-pressurized chamber—three variations of nitrogen pressure in the combustion chamber, which included 0.5, 1, and 1.5 bar. The results found that the nitrogen pressure of 0.5 bar led to evolution, and the flame stability was more stable. Moreover, the highest temperature and flame delay was shorter than the pressures of 1 bar and 1.5 bar. At a pressure of 0.5 bar, the flame evolution was 1200 milliseconds, the maximum temperature was 741 °C, and the ignition delay of 4506 milliseconds was shorter than the other two pressures. That occurred due to high nitrogen pressure inhibiting the collision reaction of the olive oil fuel vapor with air. Meanwhile, adding an attraction magnetic field can centralize oxygen and fuel molecules in the area of the reaction zone, resulting in rapid combustion and a shorter flame delay change.

Abstract

Depletion of fossil fuels is required to find alternative fuels that are environmentally friendly and sustainable. This research has been conducted to provide pieces of information on the characteristic of flame on fatty acid content and physicochemical properties of cottonseed oil and jatropha curcas. Droplets combustion of vegetable oil was used in this test, with droplet diameters of 0.3-0.4 mm, which were placed in a K-type thermocouple, then heated with a heating wire. Data collection includes flame evolution, temperature, height and ignition delay time. The results showed that jatropha curcas oil produced a longer flame time of 1206 milliseconds and a temperature of 763°C higher than cottonseed oil. The highest flame produced by cottonseed oil was 53.55 mm, while jatropha oil was 50.20 mm. Jatropha curcas oil has a shorter ignition delay than cottonseed oil, 9063 milliseconds and 11375 milliseconds, respectively. Content of various fatty acids and physicochemical properties of vegetable oils fuel affect the characteristics of flames resulting from on combustion process.

Abstract

Burung puter pelung merupakan salah satu burung yang dikenal dikalangan masyarakat Indonesia. Ciri khas yang dimiliki burung puter pelung menjadikan burung ini banyak dibudidayakan di masyarakat. Sudah banyak para pecinta burung puter pelung ini yang tidak hanya sekedar hobi, juga menjadikannya usaha untuk menambah pendapatan. Untuk dapat meningkatkan minat masyarakat terhadap burung jenis puter pelung ini maka salah satunya diperlukan adanya pemahaman tentang budidaya dan kemudahan untuk melakukannya. Kedepannya budidaya ini dapat diperkenalkan secara luas di masyarakat. Sehingga diharapkan dengan adanya pemahaman mengenai budidaya burung puter pelung juga dibarengi peningkatan minat budidaya burung puter pelung dikalangan masyarat. Dan temtunya dapat dijadikan alternatif usaha bagi masyarakat. Metode RCA (Root Cause Analysis) membantu mengidentifikasi permasalahan yang ada pada budidaya Puter Pelung dan dari proses brainstrorming membantu memberikan pertimbangan solusi yang diharapkan.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Perkembangan dunia global dan isu emisi nol (zero emmision) telah menjadi blue print energi dari semua negara. Salah satunya adalah terobosan teknologi transportasi yang ramah lingkungan. Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, teknologi kendaraan listrik telah berkembang pesat. Selain dari desain dan performansi, konsep hybrid panel surya dengan kendaraan listrik juga banyak dilakukan oleh banyak peneliti. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis performansi pengisian baterai pada sepeda listrik yang dihasilkan oleh dua bentuk panel surya yang berbeda (flat dan flexy). Metode penelitian true experimental dilakukan dengan monitoring data dari sensor tegangan, arus, dan daya listrik yang dihasilkan panel surya. Sedangkan radiasi matahari diukur dengan solar power meter. Daya listrik yang dihasilkan panel surya digunakan untuk pengisian baterai sepeda listrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada radiasi matahari maksimum terjadi pada jam 13.00 WIB sebesar 1008 W/m2. Panel surya bentuk flat menghasilkan daya listrik sebesar 58,94 Wh Sedangkan bentuk flexy sebesar 44,87 Wh. Sehingga panel surya bentuk flat lebih effisien dibandingkan dengan flexy untuk pengisian baterai pada sepeda listrik.Kata kunci: panel surya flat, panel surya flexy, daya pengisian, baterai, sepeda listrikABSTRACTThe development of the global world and the issue of zero emissions has become an energy blueprint for all countries. One of them is the breakthrough of environmentally friendly transportation technology. In recent years, electric vehicle technology has developed rapidly. Apart from design and performance, the concept of hybrid solar panels with electric vehicles is also being carried out by many researchers. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the charging performance of electric bicycle batteries produced by two different forms of solar panels (flat PV and flexy PV). The true experimental research method was carried out by monitoring data from sensors of voltage, current, and electric power generated by solar panels. While solar radiation is measured with a solar power meter. The electricity generated by the solar panels is used to charge the electric bicycle battery. The results showed that the maximum solar irradiation occurred at 01.00 pm at 1008 W/m2. Flatform solar panels produce electricity of 58.94 Wh while flexible form 44.87 Wh. Therefore, flat solar panels are more efficient than flexy for charging batteries on electric bicycles.Keywords: solar panel, flat PV, flexy PV, charging power, battery, electric bicycle

Abstract

Heat transfer occurs due to differences in temperature contained in an object. In this study only discussed about heat transfer by conduction, and by convection (inside and outside the tube). The purpose of this study was to determine the value of conduction and convection heat transfer in the heat exchanger of the sugarcane juice evaporation process using a dual effect evaporator and its effect on the rate of evaporation. The method used through observation and experimentation on the heat exchanger contained in the second tube evaporator. The materials used were 50 liters of sugar cane juice in the 1 effect tube and 26 liters of the effect tube 2. Experiments and data collection in the form of temperature, pressure, and volume were carried out 3 times. Each repeat process was carried out at 5.2 hours under vacuum. The temperature and pressure data were recorded every 10 minutes. In addition, the plate thickness, plate type, material contact surface area and characteristics of the processed material were determined. Furthermore, the data is substituted in several heat transfer equations to get the value. Based on the results of the study, the overall heat transfer coefficient value of the convection heat transfer is 35.98 w / m2K. Meanwhile, the total heat transfer from convection and conduction to the heat exchanger is 4656.6 watts. This heat transfer value can cause the evaporation rate of sugarcane juice to effect 2 of 1.03 liters / hour.

Abstract

This study investigates an effects of various magnetic fieldsdirection on flames characteristic of premix combustions. Research is important as a reserve a fossil fuel using environmental friendly vegetable oil.Jatrophacurcas oil is mixed with cotton seeds (50% blend) as fuel.Experimentare carried out on cylindrical type burner. Vegetable oils were loaded on boiler, then heated on LPG stoves, while air was obtained from the compressor. Grade N52 nickel neodymium magnets atintensitymagnetic fieldsof 1.1 T were used in this study. The combustion characteristics are identified from the flame image and the temperature signal at the burner tip. The flame image is recorded using a video camera at highspeed, 120 frames per second. This research found that the magnetic field of an attractive produces a brighter, wider, and more stable flame compared to a repulsive magnet and without. The magnetic field changes the orientation of the hydrocarbon from the para state to the ortho state, so that it tends to break down the fuel molecules resulting in more complete and faster combustion causing the flame temperature to increase, but the flame height decreases.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian mendedukasi mahasiswa untuk membantu para pelaku usaha UMKM dalam meningkatkan penjualan produk kekonsumen. Pada tahap akhir dalam upaya memacu pertumbuhan ekonomi pasar dan usaha artistik yang kuat khususnya di bidang pembuatan barang untuk interior rumah. Salah satu unsur strategi media pemasaran-terpadu adalah menjual bisnis kepada pembeli. Pentingnya UMKM di Indonesia semakin terasa seiring dengan keinginan negara untuk mengembangkan pembangunan ekonominya. Pada awalnya, pembentukan UMKM dianggap sebagai faktor sosial dalam perumusan lapangan kerja dan penggerak utama pengembangan perdagangan regional dalam kebutuhan masyarakat. Abstract

This studies proposes the effect of variations concentration of cajupuut oil and magnetic field of attraction on internal combustion engine performance and flue gas emissions. The increasing demand for petroleum energy is increasing, in line with the rising levels of flue gas emissions produced using transportation and the industrial world. Therefore, environmentally friendly alternative fuels are needed. Because the availability of fossil fuels cannot be renewed and their existence is increasingly depleting. This problems can overcome by saving fuels consumption. One way to save fuels are by adding bio-additives from cajupuut oil and a magnetic field to the fuel line. This research uses a direct test method using tools like a chassis dynamometer and gas analyzer. Pertalite fuel is mixed with various concentrations of cajupuut oil, six cc, eight cc, and ten cc and with addition of a magnetic fields strength of 10,000 Gauss of the genio motorcycle fuel line. This research has found that influence of variation of concentration in cajupuut oil and the magnetic field of attraction significantly impact engine performance and flue gas emissions. A mixture of eucalyptus ten ml with a magnetic field of attraction produces the highest maximum power and torque of 8.35 Hp and 11.77 Nm, respectively. Meanwhile, CO emissions have a level of 0.1%, but the highest CO2 level is 9.6% compared to other concentrations.

Abstract

This research has the purpose to determine and understand the role of repelling magnetic field and the variation of eucalyptus oil bio-additives on flame evolution and exhaust emissions in burning palm oil droplets. Presently, the requirement for energy is increasing, so people must look for alternative energy of fuels. Because the availability of fossil fuels cannot be renewed and their existence is increasingly depleting. This situation really forces us to develop vegetable oil as a new energy source, one of which is palm oil. This research method uses a direct testing method on palm oil which is given a variation of a mixture of eucalyptus oil bio-additives a droplet diameter of 0.3-0.4 mm at a thermocouple diameter of 0.12 mm with magnetic field strength of 10,000 Gauss and heated by heater component. This research has found that the role of repelling magnetic field N-N (north-north) and variations in eucalyptus oil bio-additives have a major influence on the evolution time of the flame. The mixture of 10% bio-additive produces the shortest flame time of 1600 milliseconds, the lowest flame height with a value of 5.74 mm, and the highest temperature of 894.25oC compared to other bio-additive variations. CO exhaust gas at 6% bio-additive produces the lowest value of 33 ppm while NOx exhaust gas at 10% bio-additive produces the lowest value of 545 ppm.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi campuran 2,5-dimethylfuran- minyak kelapa pembakaran droplet terhadap evolusi nyala api, tinggi nyala api dan emisi hydrocarbon. Minyak nabati dan turunannya serta penambahan bioaditif 2,5-dimethylfuran sangat dibutuhkan untuk dilakukan penelitian sebagai pengganti bahan bakar fosil. Bahan bakar menggunakan variasi campuran 2,5-dimethylfuran-minyak kelapa. Dilakukan penelitian secara eksperimental dengan menempatkan sebuah tetesan campuran 2,5-dimethylfuran- minyak kelapa pada thermocouple type K dengan diameter tetesan 0.3 mm. Hasil penelitian menemukan campuran 2,5-dimethylfuran 15%-minyak kelapa bahwa bahan bakar mudah menguap disebabkan nilai viskositas 2,5-dimethylfuran lebih rendah daripada minyak kelapa. Sehingga molekul bahan bakar bergerak sangat leluasa menghasilkan proses nukleasi pada droplet menjadi lebih singkat. Adanya senyawa 2,5-dimethylfuran yang menghasilkan ikatan baru itu berpotensi meningkatkan panjang karbon rantai minyak kelapa. Dampaknya jarak antar molekul bahan bakar menjadi lebih kecil, sehingga kemungkinan untuk efektif tabrakan sangat besar. Fenomena ini dapat meningkatkan reaktivitas molekul bahan bakar sehingga mudah terbakar dan laju pembakaran difusi meningkat menghasilkan nyala api bulat, tinggi nyala api rendah dan emisi hydrocarbon menurun dan lebih stabil dibandingkan dengan campuran 2,5-dimethylfuran lainnya.
