Abstract

Program sister school didirikan sebagai bagian dari upaya peningkatan kesiapsiagaan bencana di lingkungan pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kesiapsiagaan siswa dan mengidentifikasi perbedaan kesiapsiagaan antara dua sekolah “sister school”, yaitu SMAN 1 Cangkringan dan SMAN 1 Pakem. SMAN 1 Cangkringan sangat terdampak selama bencana letusan besar Gunung Merapi pada tahun 2010, yang mengakibatkan harus dilakukan evakuasi sekitar 95% siswa dan kerusakan tempat tinggal siswa mencapai 30% rumah, serta  mengakibatkan kematian sejumlah 5 orang di antara keluarga siswa SMAN 1 Cangkringan. Penilaian kesiapsiagaan kedua sekolah ini menggunakan empat indikator yaitu pengetahuan, rencana tanggap darurat, peringatan dini bencana, dan mobilisasi sumber daya. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 101 responden dari kelas XI IPS, yang terdiri dari 50 siswa dari SMAN 1 Cangrkingan dan 51 siswa dari SMAN 1 Pakem. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain komparatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kuesioner dan menghasilkan temuan berupa: siswa di SMAN 1 Cangkringan memiliki skor indeks kesiapsiagaan sebesar 82,75, yang masuk ke dalam kategori sangat siap. Sementara, siswa di SMAN 1 Pakem memiliki skor indeks kesiapsiagaan sebesar 70,85, yang masuk ke dalam kategori siap. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan uji Mann Whitney, ditemukan bahwa nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) adalah 0.001, karena nilai p kurang dari 0.05 (p = 0.001), yang berarti ada perbedaan signifikan dalam kesiapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SMAN 1 Cangkringan memiliki kesiapan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan SMAN 1 Pakem, karena nilai rata-rata peringkat SMAN 1 Cangkringan lebih tinggi yaitu 60,77, sedangkan nilai rata-rata peringkat SMAN 1 Pakem adalah 41,03.

Abstract

Education is a key factor in human resource development, especially in rural areas that often face challenges in accessing quality education. The Afternoon Tutoring Program (Bimbel Sore) conducted by KKN-MAS students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA in Sidorejo Village aims to enhance elementary school students' academic understanding and learning motivation. This program was attended by 30 students and focused on core subjects such as Mathematics, Indonesian Language, and Natural Sciences using an interactive approach, including group discussions, quizzes, and Q&A sessions. Evaluation results showed an increase in students' comprehension, with an average score improvement of 25%, as well as greater active participation in learning. Furthermore, the program contributed to boosting students' confidence in facing academic challenges. This initiative is expected to serve as a model for improving education quality in rural areas and inspire other community service activities. The sustainability of this program can be strengthened by involving more volunteers and expanding the range of taught materials to better align with students' needs in the future.

Abstract

Integrating technology into geography education enhances students’ understanding of basic concepts in the digital era. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach to create GIS-based learning media for 10th graders, focusing on maps, remote sensing, and the physical geosphere (lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere) as living spaces. Sixty students participated, selected based on their initial geography knowledge and digital skills. The developed media were tailored to local needs and supported by a flexible curriculum. Results indicate a 25% improvement in students’ geography understanding, notably in spatial analysis and problem-solving skills. Challenges include limited technology infrastructure and the need for teacher training. Successful GIS integration requires educator support and guidance. Recommendations include developing teacher training programs on GIS use in geography and ensuring schools have adequate technology infrastructure. Collaboration among educators, policymakers, and technology developers is crucial for effective implementation. Further research should explore sustainable strategies and their educational impact.

Abstract

Perubahan iklim merupakan masalah global yang berdampak signifikan pada berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan, terutama bagi siswa penyandang disabilitas yang sering kali terabaikan dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menerapkan strategi pengajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kesadaran siswa penyandang disabilitas tentang perubahan iklim di sekolah inklusif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sekolah dengan 10 siswa penyandang disabilitas dan melibatkan 3 guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode penelitian terdiri dari tiga siklus, termasuk perencanaan, implementasi, observasi, dan evaluasi. Intervensi termasuk mengintegrasikan materi perubahan iklim ke dalam kurikulum, menggunakan alat bantu pengajaran yang tepat, dan melibatkan siswa dalam kegiatan interaktif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner yang diisi oleh siswa sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kesadaran siswa tentang masalah perubahan iklim dan dampak lingkungannya (p<0,05). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa menerapkan strategi pengajaran yang adaptif dan inklusif dapat meningkatkan pemahaman tentang perubahan iklim di kalangan siswa penyandang disabilitas. Rekomendasi untuk praktik pendidikan di masa depan termasuk pengembangan lebih lanjut dari materi pengajaran yang responsif terhadap kebutuhan siswa dan pelatihan guru untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar yang inklusif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether biographical factors such as age, gender, highest education, and years of teaching experience influence the use of spatial-based digital learning resources by geography teachers in Karanganyar Regency. This quantitative research used a comparative design. The research population includes all geography teachers in Karanganyar Regency, with a sample of 34 geography teachers. Data collection was done using a questionnaire, and data analysis employed descriptive analysis and one-way ANOVA tests. The results showed that biographical factors do not influence the knowledge, utilization, and adoption of spatial digital learning technologies by geography teachers. The highest levels of knowledge, utilization, and adoption of spatially-based digital learning resource technologies are found among teachers aged 20-30 years, male teachers, and those with a Bachelor's degree. Regarding teaching experience, knowledge of spatially-based digital learning resources is highest among teachers with 5-10 years of experience, the utilization of spatially-based digital learning resources is highest among teachers with 16-20 years of experience, and the adoption of spatially-based digital learning resource technologies is highest among teachers with 21-25 years of experience. Continuous training or development related to knowledge, utilization, and adoption of spatially-based digital learning resource technologies for geography teachers does not differentiate based on biographical factors such as age, gender, highest education level, or teaching experience

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara persepsi dan tingkat kesadaran siswa SMAN 02 Wonogiri dalam menghadapi bencana klimatologis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode asosiatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi oleh 251 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Variabel dalam penelitian meliputi persepsi siswa dan tingkat kesadaran siswa. Menurut Arum Ariningtyas, indikator persepsi siswa meliputi pengetahuan, pemahaman, serta penerapan dan indikator tingkat kesadaran siswa meliputi pengetahuan, sikap, serta tindakan. Teknik analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Rank Spearman untuk mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi dan tingkat kesadaran. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang lemah antara "Persepsi" dan "Tingkat Kesadaran" artinya ketika nilai "Persepsi" meningkat, maka nilai "Tingkat Kesadaran" cenderung ikut meningkat, tetapi hubungan tersebut tidak terlalu kuat. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan program pendidikan kebencanaan yang lebih efektif di sekolah-sekolah, terutama di wilayah rawan bencana klimatologis

Abstract

Klaten Regency is one of the regencies in Indonesia that has a high risk of natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and landslides. People with disabilities are among the groups that are particularly vulnerable to these natural disasters. According to data from Working Group of Special School Principals Klaten Regency, there are five special schools that have been affected by natural disasters, specifically earthquakes, which puts individuals with disabilities at a significant risk of becoming victims. Therefore, it is essential to implement disaster mitigation strategies that involve persons with disabilities as part of disaster risk management. In light of this issue, knowledge transfer related to disaster mitigation is necessary for special school teachers. To enhance effectiveness, technology transfer and the diffusion of science and technology will be based on the SIPAKDEDIFA application. This initiative aims to improve the understanding of Special School Teachers in using the SIPAKDEDIFA application which in turn provides science and technology diffusion to students with disabilities which is expected to optimise students' understanding of disaster mitigation. The methods implemented included socialization, training, technology application, mentoring, and evaluation. The evaluation utilized a pre-test and post-test given to special needs students to assess their understanding of disaster mitigation. The results indicated that special school teachers effectively participated in all activities, and the assistance provided at special school demonstrated that teachers optimally implemented the SIPAKDEDIFA application. The results of the pre-test and post-test to teachers related to knowledge and understanding of the SIPAKDEDIFA application have increased significantly and the results of the pre-test and post-test obtained from students show a very significant increase in the results of knowledge of earthquake, landslide and volcano disaster mitigation with an average score increase of 32.83 points or in percentage of 67.38%. This indicates that the activities had a positive impact on both teachers and special school students in Klaten Regency, ultimately improving disaster mitigation efforts and minimizing losses due to disasters. Based on this research, it is hoped that relevant parties will pay more attention to educating students with disabilities about natural disaster mitigation.

Abstract

Indonesia's geography poses a threat to society due to its volcanic activity. Disaster self-awareness and disaster preparedness are considered to influence students' actions in dealing with eruptions, both before, during, and after a disaster occurs. Disaster self-awareness enables individuals to take appropriate actions when faced with a disaster, while preparedness involves a series of activities to anticipate disasters. By choosing SMP Negeri 2 Kemalang as the research site, which is close to Mount Merapi, it is hoped that this study can provide a better understanding of how disaster self-awareness can influence students' preparedness in dealing with eruptions. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of disaster self-awareness and preparedness of students at SMP Negeri 2 Kemalang in dealing with the eruption of Mount Merapi, and to determine the relationship between the two variables. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive with a contingency coefficient correlation design. The results showed that the level of disaster self-awareness of students was 67.50% in the preparedness category. The preparedness variable obtained a percentage score of 77.06%, which is included in the high category. The relationship between the two variables is included in the weak correlation category with a value of 0.298. In an effort to improve students' preparedness for volcanic eruption disasters, schools need to integrate disaster education into the curriculum in a comprehensive and sustainable manner. Further research is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of disaster education programs and to identify other factors that influence optimal student preparedness.

Abstract

Klaten is one of the districts in Central Java that has a disaster threat index number 4 out of 35 districts in Central Java. In 2006, Klaten Regency experienced an earthquake which resulted in approximately 5500 people losing their lives. Persons with disabilities are the group most at risk when a disaster occurs. Preparedness studies are important to do as anticipation if an earthquake occurs during study hours and results in large losses. Therefore the purpose of this study is to determine the preparedness of Putro Oyotasih SLB students in dealing with earthquakes. This research uses a quantitative type with a descriptive analysis design. The population used in this study were all students of SLB BC Putro Oyotasih, totaling 34 students. Preparedness is assessed from four parameters, namely (1) knowledge, (2) emergency response plans, (3) early warning systems, and (4) mobilization. The results of the study show that the readiness of students has a value of 55.9%, which is included in the Almost Ready category. Based on the results of this research, it is hoped that the local government and schools will continue to provide socialization and simulations regarding earthquake prevention.AbstrakKlaten merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Jawa Tengah yang memiliki indeks ancaman bencana nomor 4 dari 35 kabupaten di Jawa Tengah. Pada tahun 2006, Kabupaten Klaten pernah mengalami gempa yang mengakibatkan kurang lebih 5500 jiwa kehilangan nyawa. Penyandang disabilitas merupakan kelompok paling berisiko saat terjadi bencana. Kajian kesiapsiagaan penting dilakukan sebagai antisipasi apabila gempa bumi terjadi pada jam belajar dan berdampak pada kerugian yang besar. Oleh sebab itu tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kesiapsiagaan peserta didik disabilitas SLB Putro Oyotasih dalam menghadapi gempa bumi. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis kuantitatif dengan desain analisis desktriptif. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah semua peserta didik SLB BC Putro Oyotasih, yang berjumlah 34 peserta didik. Kesiapsiagaan dinilai dari empat parameter yaitu (1) pengetahuan, (2) rencana tanggap darurat, (3) sistem peringatam dini, dan (4) mobilisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kesiapsiagaan peserta didik memiliki nilai sebesar 55.9% termasuk dalam kategori Hampir Siap.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, diharapkan kepada pemerintah setempat dan pihak sekolah untuk terus memberikan sosialisasi dan simulasi mengenai mitigasi gempa bumi.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pemanasan global merupakan fenomena yang mempengaruhi kehidupan manusia dalam berbagai aspek, termasuk kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Oleh karena itu, media pembelajaran mengenai pemanasan global menjadi sangat penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan Instagram sebagai media pembelajaran yang inovatif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pemanasan global, serta menganalisis persepsi siswa terhadap media tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 2 Klaten kelas XI IPS 2 dengan sampel 35 siswa menggunakan desain pre-eksperimental (pra-tes dan pasca-tes). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 86% siswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap akun Instagram @fakta_globalwarming. Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan Instagram sebagai media belajar dengan peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 27%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa Instagram efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar dalam mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran berbasis digital yang lebih menarik dan relevan di era industri 4.0. Abstract:  Global warming is a phenomenon that affects various aspects of human life, including students’ daily activities. Therefore, learning media that address global warming are critically important. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Instagram as an innovative learning medium to enhance students’ understanding of global warming and to analyze students’ perceptions of the platform. The research was conducted at SMAN 2 Klaten, class XI IPS 2, with a sample of 35 students using a pre-experimental design (pre-test and post-test). The results show that 86% of students had a positive perception of the Instagram account @fakta_globalwarming. In addition, there was a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after using Instagram as a learning tool, with an average increase of 27%. These findings indicate that Instagram is an effective learning medium. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a foundation for developing more engaging and relevant digital learning strategies in the era of Industry 4.0.
