Abstract

The construction of a stadium that has a fairly high level of complexity with the use of an integrated design and build contract demands an acceleration of execution time, the modernization of the job procurement system and easier project delivery. Not a few of these conditions trigger disputes one of the problems that arise due to the absence of standards in determining the calculation of the volume of work which causes different views from various parties regarding the measurement of the volume of work. This study was conducted to compile and develop Standard Measurement Method (SMM) of the volume of mechanical electrical work in the stadium area based on Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and to model the relationship between the method of measuring the volume of mechanical electrical work on the level of accuracy of calculating the volume of work using Structural equation modeling (SEM). The results of this study are expected to serve as a guide in measuring volume to create a consistent measurement method and produce a measurement method that can be accepted by various parties.

Abstract

Abstract

Construction projects have been developing from the management side year by year. One of the problems that government has been facing government construction projects over the years is the duration of the procurement process that takes too long which is hard to be implemented if the project is urgent in terms of time. This creates the urgency to seek the solutions to the problem of how to shorten the time of the procurement process. The design and build integrated contract method that unites the planning and implementation process simultaneously is able to answer these problems and shorten the procurement time of government construction projects. However, there are many disputes faced by construction projects that use integrated design contracts postproject, one of which comes from the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) or commonly called the Inspectorate. This is because there are several different standard between the inspectorate and the owner or contractor that has been used in the process of government construction projects Audit. This study aims to identify the standards of the audit process of the Inspectorate, analyze the risks that cause disputes, and to develop standards for risk-based audit methods for design and build-based construction projects in order to minimize disputes that occured from the inspectorate side of perspective.

Abstract

The development of housing in Indonesia, growing rapidly due to urbanization and population growth, faces challenges in terms of land, labor, and housing backlog. Despite being innovative, modular prefabrication methods are limited by unattractive designs and high costs, slowing down construction, harming the productivity of construction companies, and hindering the growth of the national construction sector. These challenges are prevalent in various countries and are influenced by low knowledge, conservative mindsets, and inhibiting regulations. In Indonesia, additional issues include a lack of mastery of modular prefabrication methods and awareness of long-term benefits. This research identified innovative risk-based applications of modular prefabrication with an ISO approach to improve project performance. The methodology employed includes a literature review, a questionnaire survey, and phased expert validation. The study found that out of 38 risk factors based on the 4 processes of implementing modular prefabrication methods, the average risk assessment is high. As a result, 5 innovations are proposed as efforts to reduce risk assessments. The research analyzed data from various literature, resulting in low inter-data connectivity. However, the processes and outcomes of this research can be relied upon for further understanding in subsequent research. This study combined proposed new innovations with those from external literature that have the potential to be applied in Indonesia for optimizing the cost efficiency of modular prefabrication methods.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of ISO 56002:2019-based Innovation Management Systems and Lean Six Sigma in the resource context of the precast concrete industry. Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Innovation are powerful methodologies that exhibit several differences, there are numerous areas where LSS and innovation share compatible foundations and common goals in the pursuit of improving implementation of Innovation management system on these companies. In this study, we conducted a literature review to identify the research variables, which were then validated by 5 experts. We collected data through questionnaires from 54 respondents who work in a precast concrete company in Indonesia. SEM-PLS methods were used for analysis. Results indicate Lean Six Sigma's substantial positive influence on resource of precast concrete company in the Innovation Management System, offering valuable insights for Indonesia's precast concrete industry. This study contributes to continuous improvement in innovation culture, fostering competitiveness in the global market.

Abstract

The research aims to identify the risk factors and the medium-high risks to use as the basis for the innovative method of spun pile manufacturing technology. The research uses the Delphi method to analyze and review the validity of content construction, pilot and respondent surveys, focus group discussions, and expert validation. The findings show utilizing and optimizing the technology on production machinery is influential for results on both product and service quality. The dominance category in the medium-risk technology indicates the need for improvement in the operator's competence. The result also indicates the largest medium risk is during the initial integration, Cutting and Heading at 84%, and the final step, Stressing and Spinning, at 59%. The research improvement to map the production process is related to the medium and high risks to know where and how the industry can improve. This risk-based technology and integration method is a proposed method using an approach to innovation management by reducing the risk values. Innovation by improving the standard operational procedure (SOP) was based on the relation of each activity during the integration within the risk category of medium-medium, medium-high, and high-high. We recommend improving SOP and utilizing information technology on precision for both subprocesses. Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2024-010-11-015 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

This study identifies the dominant factors in the conceptual cost estimate process of flyover development in the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta that affect accuracy, based on the relationship model between the conceptual cost estimation process of flyover development in the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta with the accuracy. Furthermore, this study also develops strategies to improve the accuracy based on the dominant factors. Two parts of the method are used in this study. The first method is to obtain the dominant factors in estimating the conceptual cost of flyover development in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, which affects accuracy using the SEM-PLS method, which involved 151 respondents. Second, the method to obtain strategies to improve accuracy based on these dominant factors, using the gap analysis. The result shows that four dominant factors affect accuracy: information quality, project definition, cost information, and project characteristics. Improving strategies are obtained based on those identified dominant factors. The finding of this study suggests that these strategies can be compiled into the guideline of the conceptual cost estimate process, which can be a tool to assist relevant agency personnel in carrying out the stages in the process of conceptual cost estimation of flyover development.
