Abstract

The use of inorganic fertilizers in the short or long term to paddy soil can affect it as a source of soil nutrient availability. Knowing the status of soil fertility is for determining soil fertility status aimed at assessing soil characteristics and determining the main constraints of soil fertility for farming, determined by the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. Artificial (inorganic) fertilizers are fertilizers made in factories, inorganic fertilizers are formed by chemical processes. Inorganic fertilizers have advantages such as, made precisely and the administration can be adjusted. However, not all inorganic fertilizers contain complete elements (macro and micro), the administration can be combined with micro fertilizers and organic fertilizers. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Soil sampling and analysis was carried out in March 2022, carried out diagonally at 5 sample points on the respondent's land, as many as 10 Siam Mutiara rice farmers, so that 50 sampling points were obtained. with an average land area of approx. (± 9.7 ha). The data obtained is presented in the form of tables or figures, then the data is described. The results of the analysis of the parameters of the chemical properties of the soil at the Laboratory of the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lambung Mangkurat, show the value of soil acidity (pH), acidic to very acid (3.95 - 4.89), C-organic (5.18%) - 15.52 %) is moderate to high. N-total (0.47% - 0.69%) value is moderate to high. P-total (12.48 mg/100 g - 118.83 mg/100 g) was rated very low to very high, and the K-total value (15.44 % - 43.05 %) was rated low to high.

Abstract

This study aimed to utilize Cassia alata (C. alata) as a microgreen and evaluate its potential as a source of natural antioxidant agents. The seeds of Cassia alata were cultivated in Rockwool at room temperature (27±1oC). Uppon the appearance of the first true leaves, approximately 21 days after planting, microgreens were harvested from triplicate trays using sterilized scissors. The antioxidant activity was assessed using the DPPH radical scavenging activity method and analyzed via UV-VIS spectrophotometry. The results showed that the IC50 values of C. alata microgreens was 1.789x103 µg/mL, categorizing it as a weak antioxidant. This study indicates that the extract of C. alata microgreens has the potential to be a natural source of antioxidant agents.

Abstract

Nagara cowpea is a local crop from South Kalimantan that is grown on swampland.  However, nagara cowpea cultivation on swamp land can only be planted once a year, in the dry season.  It can be planted more than once a year if it is re-adapted to dry land by providing organic material in the form of water hyacinth mulch and identifying the diversity of soil macrofauna.  The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of soil macrofauna in each treatment of water hyacinth mulch.  This study used descriptive exploration method. Soil macrofauna samples were taken by purposive sampling in cowpea raisebeds that were applied water hyacinth mulch. Furthermore, identification and calculation of the number of soil macrofauna were carried out in the laboratory. Data were analyzed quantitatively in tables to explain differences in diversity, evenness, and dominance.  The results showed that the diversity of soil macrofauna in the three treatments had a medium index value. Individual richness of soil macrofauna in the three treatments has a low index value.  Evenness of soil macrofauna has a value of more than 0.6 which indicates that the distribution of individuals per species is evenly distributed. This is in accordance with the dominance value of macrofauna, that there is no dominant species.

Abstract

Maintaining soil sustainability to increase and sustain land productivity can be achieved by minimizing synthetic fertilizers and maximizing organic fertilizers and biofertilizers, especially in suboptimal lands. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effects of organic fertilizers and biofertilizers with reduced NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potassium) dosage on increasing rice yield in tidal swamp areas in Tebas Sungai Village, West Kalimantan. The procedures were carried out using a complete randomized block design, with several treatments consisting of 175 kg ha-1 NPK as a control (P0), 130 kg ha-1 NPK + 1.5 tons ha-1 cow manure (P1), 130 kg ha-1 NPK + 3.0 tons ha-1 cow manure (P2), and 130 kg ha-1 NPK + 25 kg ha-1 biofertilizers (P3). Based on assessment, the study area was then categorized as C overflow type. The results showed that the combination of NPK synthetic fertilizers with cow manure led to a 15.1%, 25%, 5.6%, and 5.4% increase in total tillers, total grains per panicle, weight of 1000 grains, and rice yield, respectively. In addition, the use of NPK fertilizers with biofertilizers increased total tillers, total grains per panicle, weight of 1000 grains, and rice yield by 24.6%, 56%, 7.7%, and 18%, respectively, compared to only NPK fertilizers. Based on these results, improving rice performance in tidal swamp areas could be achieved by integrating organic or biofertilizers with synthetic fertilizers.

Abstract

The quality of duck feed is a main factor that determines the safety of food derived from duck products for humans, considering that the people in South Kalimantan widely consume duck products. Duck farming is the main commodity in the farming system of Bangun Bersama Farmer Group, Rantau Karau Hilir Village. The main problem faced by this farmer group is the lack of knowledge about the impact of aflatoxin contamination in duck feed on the duck performance and product safety. This community service is carried out to increase the knowledge and skills of farmer group members to produce duck ratio formulated from local feedstuffs and to prevent aflatoxin contamination through fermentation using Trichoderma.  The Focus Group Discussion (FGD), training, and mentoring were carried out properly according to the purpose of service and received high enthusiasm from partners. Awareness about the dangers of aflatoxins in duck and human health is well established, so the potential for sustainability of service results is high. In addition, farmer group members gain the ability to produce low-cost duck ration by using local feedstuff.  ---  Kualitas pakan itik merupakan faktor utama yang menentukan keamanan pangan manusia yang berasal dari produk itik, mengingat itik banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat Kalimantan Selatan. Beternak itik menjadi komoditas utama pertanian bagi Kelompok Tani Bangun Bersama, Desa Rantau Karau Hilir. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah kurangnya pengetahuan tentang dampak cemaran aflatoksin dalam pakan itik pada performa itik dan keamanan produk. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota kelompok tani untuk menghasilkan formulasi rasio pakan itik dari bahan pakan lokal dan untuk mencegah kontaminasi aflatoksin melalui fermentasi menggunakan Trichoderma. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan  adalah Focus Group Discussion (FGD), pelatihan dan pendampingan. Kegiatan pengabdian dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra sekitar 91%. Selain itu, mitra dapat terampil membuat pakan itik fermentasi menggunakan Trichoderma dengan memanfaatkan bahan lokal sebanyak satu kali.

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the interaction between chicken manure and tofu liquid waste-based liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on the growth and yield of pak choy, as well as to determine the individual and combined effects of chicken manure and tofu liquid waste POC on pak choy performance. The study employed a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor was chicken manure application: A0 (control), A1 (25 t ha⁻¹), and A2 (35 t ha⁻¹). The second factor was the concentration of tofu liquid waste POC: L0 (control), L1 (10%), L2 (15%), and L3 (20%). The experiment was conducted over three months, from February to May 2024, at the Sustainable Food Yard Demonstration Plot managed by the Palem Asri Komet Women Farmers Group. The results indicated a significant interaction between chicken manure and tofu liquid waste POC on plant height during the first and second weeks of growth. The combination of A1 (25 t ha⁻¹ chicken manure) and L1 (10% POC concentration) yielded the best results. Additionally, chicken manure alone significantly affected the number of pak choy leaves across all four weeks, with A1 again being the most effective treatment. In contrast, tofu liquid waste POC applied as a single factor did not significantly influence plant growth or yield.

Abstract

Mesofauna seperti Acari dan Collembola memiliki peranan yang sangat penting di dalam tanah, yaitu sebagai organisme dekomposer bahan organik di dalam tanah. Oleh karena itu, mesofauna di dalam tanah dapat digunakan sebagai indikator kesuburan tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan populasi dan keragaman jenis fauna tanah Acari dan Collembola pada budidaya ubi Alabio di lahan rawa lebak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksplorasi deskriptif. Faktor yang diteliti adalah kepadatan populasi fauna tanah Acari dan Collembola  dan keragaman jenis fauna tanah Acari dan Collembola. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa genus Acari yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah Diapterobates sedangkan genus Collembola adalah Acrocyrtus. Nilai keragaman jenis Famili Acari paling tinggi yaitu Sarcoptiformes dan Famili Collembola adalah Isotomidae.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Ibnu Mas’ud Putri merupakan tipe pondok modern, yang selain mengajarkan pelajaran agama juga mengajarkan pelajaran umum, dan sekaligus sebagai tempat proses hidup itu sendiri dalam bentuk umum. Salah satu kegiatan yang dapat dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren Ibnu Mas’ud Putri adalah pemanfaatan limbah yang belum optimal di lingkungan mitra sebagai nutrisi pada budidaya sayuran sistem hidroponik. Pengenalan terhadap berbagai pemanfaatan limbah dan budidaya sayuran hidroponik perlu dilakukan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra mengenai pemanfaatan limbah pada budidaya sayuran sistem hidroponik. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini yaitu berupa penyuluhan, praktek, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan respon positif dari mitra terutama dalam pengelolaan limbah organik menjadi POC yang kaya akan nutrisi. Selain itu, partisipasi mitra pada kegiatan praktek dan pendampingan sangat berperan aktif. Oleh karena itu, ketersediaan sayur di pondok pesantren dapat meningkatkan konsumsi sayuran dan juga meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra terhadap sistem hidroponik. Melalui pemanfaatan limbah sebagai pupuk organik cair yang dapat digunakan sebagai subtitusi hara pada hidroponik.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Ibnu Mas’ud Putri merupakan salah satu pondok pesantren modern yang berada di Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Pembakaran sampah organik masih sering dilakukan mitra saat ini dengan alasan efisiensi waktu, tenaga, dan biaya. Kebiasaan tersebut akan memberikan dampak negative bagi lingkungan. selain meningkatkan gas rumah kaca, pembakaran dapat merugikan tanaman di sekitar lingkungan mitra karena tidak mendapatkan pengembalian bahan organik pada media tumbuh yang memang memiliki status kesuburan tanah rendah. Permasalahan mitra terdiri dari pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pengelolaan sampah organik yang ramah lingkungan masih belum optimal, terbatasnya tenaga dan waktu mitra dalam pengelolaan sampah karena kegiatan harian yang sangat padat, serta konservasi tanah di sekitar lingkungan mitra yang belum optimal. Solusi permasalahan yang dilakukan pada kegiatan pengabdian adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan pengelolaan sampah organik yang ramah lingkungan serta penerapan sistem biopori di sekitar area ponpes mitra. Kegiatan dilakukan selama kurang lebih delapan bulan. Kegiatan pengabdian terdiri dari tahapan persiapan, sosialisasi mengenai pengelolaan sampah dan sistem biopori, pelatihan pengolahan sampah organik dengan menggunakan biodekomposer, pelatihan dalam penerapan sistem biopori, pendampingan pengembangan sistem biopori, serta monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan. Sosialisasi yang dilakukan tentang pengelolaan sampah organik dan system biopori di Pondok Pesantren Ibnu Mas’ud Puteri dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan wawasan masyarakat pondok. Pendampingan penerapan system biopori mendapat respon positif dari mitra sehingga santriwati dan pengelola pondok terlibat aktif dalam pembuatan sistem biopori.

Abstract

Ubi Alabio (Dioscorea alata L.) memiliki potensi sebagai pangan fungsional di Kalimantan Selatan namun belum optimal dari segi budidaya. Aplikasi pupuk hijau dari gulma air menjadi altenatif pemupukan ramah lingkungan. Pendekatan karakter morfologi dan fisiologi kaitannya dengan fotosintesis dapat dilakukan untuk melihat efektivitas pemupukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari karakter morfologi dan fisiologi daun ubi alabio perbedaan aplikasi pupuk hijau di lahan rawa lebak. Pemberian berbagai jenis pupuk hijau tidak berpengaruh terhadap karakter morfologi daun ubi alabio yang meliputi panjang, lebar dan luas daun. Karakter fisiologi daun yaitu berat kering daun dan kandungan klorofil b serta klorofil total juga tidak menunjukkan perbedaan pada aplikasi berbagai jenis pupuk hijau, akan tetapi  tren data menunjukkan pupuk hijau kayu apu memebrikan karakter cukup baik dibanding pupuk lain. Aplikasi pupuk kayu apu 35 ton ha-1 menghasilkan kandungan klorofil a paling tinggi pada daun ubi alabio yaitu berkisar antara 4,556-6,900
