Abstract

ABSTRACT                 The number of people in the world continues to increase causing a soaring energy needs and wood needs. The way to get raw materials for renewable energy is to use energy wood from leguminous species, such as red calliandra (Calliandra calothyrsus Meissn.). The benefits of calliandra are forage for livestock, erosion control, conservation and reclamation, and raw material for wood pellets. The success of generative calliandra cultivation is determined by many factors, one of which is the planting media. Planting media used in cultivation do not all contain sufficient nutrients, such as ultisol soil which has problems such as soil acidity, and low macro nutrients and low C-organic, to overcome these problems the addition of organic matter in the from of cow manure. The purpose of this study was to analyse the effect of cow manure and the best dose of cow manure on the growth of red calliandra seedlings. Methods the study used a CRD single-factor with 5 levels of cow manure treatment (k0 without fertilizer, k1=50 g/polybag, k2=100 g/polybag, k3=150 g/polybag, k4=200 g/polybag) repeated 6 times so as to obtain 30 experimental units, consisting of 5 seedlings so that a total of 150 seedlings. The observation variables were height, diameter, number of leaves, root and crown dry weight. The results showed that the application of cow manure had a significant effect on the growth of red calliandra seedlings, especially on the variables of height, number of leaves, and root dry weight but had no significant effect on the variables of diameter and crown dry weight. The application of cow manure at a dose of 100 g/polybag is the best dose to support the growth of red calliandra (Calliandra calothyrsus Meissn.) seedlings.   Key words: red calliandra, cow manure, ultisol.   ABSTRAK             Jumlah penduduk di dunia terus mengalami peningkatan menyebabkan melonjaknya kebutuhan energi maupun kebutuhan kayu. Cara untuk mendapatkan bahan baku Energi Terbarukan (EBT) adalah menggunakan kayu energi dari jenis leguminosa, seperti tanaman kaliandra merah (Calliandra calothyrsus Meissn.). Manfaat kaliandra yaitu hijauan makan ternak, pengontrol erosi, konservasi dan reklamasi, serta bahan baku wood pellet. Keberhasilan budidaya kaliandra secara generatif ditentukan dari banyak faktor salah satunya yaitu media tanam. Media tanam yang digunakan dalam budidaya tidak semua mengandung unsur hara yang cukup, seperti tanah ultisol yang memiliki permasalahan seperti kemasaman tanah, dan unsur hara makro yang rendah serta C-organik yang rendah, untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dilakukan penambahan bahan organik berupa pupuk kandang sapi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh pupuk kandang sapi dan dosis terbaik pada pemberian pupuk kandang sapi terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kaliandra merah. Metode penelitian menggunakan RAL faktor tunggal dengan 5 taraf perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi (k0=tanpa pupuk, k1=50 g/polybag, k2=100 g/polybag, k3=150 g/polybag, k4=200 g/polybag) diulang 6 kali sehingga diperoleh 30 satuan percobaan, terdiri dari 5 bibit sehingga total 150 bibit. Variabel pengamatan berupa pertambahan tinggi, diameter, jumlah daun, berat kering akar dan tajuk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kandang sapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kaliandra merah terutama pada variabel tinggi, jumlah daun, dan berat kering akar namun tidak berpengaruh nyata pada variabel diameter dan berat kering tajuk. Pemberian pupuk kandang sapi dengan dosis 100 g/polybag merupakan dosis terbaik untuk menunjang pertumbuhan bibit kaliandra merah (Calliandra calothyrsus Meissn.).   Kata kunci: kaliandra merah, pupuk kandang sapi, ultisol.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the cultural forms and educational values within the Berontang custom practiced by the community of Semadin Village, Nanga Pinoh District, Melawi Regency. Berontang is a traditional communal dining ceremony rooted in the Dayak Kebahant culture, rich in cultural significance and educational values. The study employs a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include interviews, direct observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model and validated through source and theoretical triangulation. The findings reveal that cultural forms in the Berontang tradition are reflected in communal work activities and the artifacts used in the ceremony. The educational values found include social values such as mutual cooperation and solidarity. This research not only documents a fading local tradition but also highlights the embedded educational values, making it a useful reference for learning, particularly for the hikayat text in senior high school curricula. These findings are expected to contribute to the preservation of local culture and strengthen community identity and character through culture-based education.

Abstract

Duku production and productivity in Jambi Province remain low because the existing plants are old, and cultivation technology is not precise. Efforts to overcome this problem include rejuvenation using superior seeds obtained through propagation of shoot grafting. Intensification can be done through fertilization. One fertilizer option is goat manure compost combined with NPK. The purpose of this research is to develop a technology package to accelerate duku growth in ultisols. This research was conducted in the Faculty of Agriculture’s experimental garden for 4 months on 1-year-old duku plants. The design used in this study was a randomized block design (RAK) with one factor, namely the dose of goat compost fertilizer consisting of five levels, namely 100% NPK (306g); 5 kg Goat Compost + 75% NPK (229.5g); 10 kg Goat Compost + 50% NPK Fertilizer (153g); 15 kg Goat Compost + 25% NPK (76.5g); 20 kg Goat Compost Fertilizer. Observations were made on the variables of increase in plant height, increase in stem diameter, increase in the number of leaf tillers, bud break time, and increase in the number of branches. The results showed that goat compost combined with NPK can substitute for NPK fertilizer. The application of 15 kg of goat manure compost with 25% NPK content showed the best combination for supporting the growth of immature Duku plants.
