Abstract

Effective communication is crucial for maintaining harmonious relationships, especially in long-distance marriages. With the rise of migrant workers, many families face long-distance relationships that can impact parent-child bonds. This study examines how family communication intensity and patterns affect parent-child attachment in such families, using attachment theory and family communication patterns theory. Through a survey of 96 respondents and simple linear regression analysis, the results of hypothesis testing show that communication intensity can explain 33.4% with an effect size of 0.839 and consensual family communication patterns can explain 21.5% with an effect size of 0.546 on parent and child attachment. It can be concluded that higher communication intensity and consensual communication patterns significantly enhance parent-child attachment. The results suggest that frequent and open communication, as well as consensual communication patterns, can help strengthen parent-child relationships despite physical separation.

Abstract

The intense job competition in Indonesia has made it difficult for job seekers in Indonesia to find a job. Self-promotion could help people to find job easily. The study analyzed whether there was a relationship between the attitude about self-promotion and the subjective norm of self promotion toward the individual's intention in doing self-promoting on social media to find a job. The hypothesis is based on the Theory of Reasoned Action. The sampling of this study was done using non-probability samplings, specifically purposive samplers. The study took 300 respondents. The sample criteria for the study are individuals aged 15-24 years who are jobseeker. This consideration was due to the highest unemployment rate at the age range of 20-24 years, followed by the 15-19 year range. The hypothesis was tested using Kendall's W analysis with SPSS 29. Online questionnaire shared through Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, Linkedin, and WhatsApp. The results of the research showed that the attitude and the subjective norms of have a relationship with the interest in doing self promotion on social media to find a job with a significance of 0,001<0,05 which means very significant. For the W value of 0,077 or 7,7% which means the relationship between the attitudes and the subjective norm towards the intention of doing self-promoting on social networks for finding a job is very weak. The findings of this study are in line with the theory used

Abstract

Private schools cannot be separated from the commercial activities within them to achieve the school's target enrollment. Al Azhar 14 Islamic High School is a relatively new Islamic private school in the city of Semarang. However, Al Azhar 14 Islamic High School can show quite rapid and significant development in terms of the number of applicants or students from the first generation to the present. For this reason, this research was carried out to find out what factors can influence applicants or students to make the decision to register at this school so that the school can review and also consider these factors for the benefit of the school. This research is quantitative research with an exploratory type using factor analysis techniques. Researchers collected various basic concepts regarding factors that influence decision making to register and collected 18 factors which will be analyzed further. The respondents of this research were 100 students at SMA Islam Al Azhar 14 Semarang and then the data obtained was processed using IBM SPSS through several stages of factor analysis data processing. Of these 18 factors, five new factors were produced, namely School Facilities Factors, SpiritualIntellectual Education Factors, Organizational Strategy Factors, Non-Academic Factors, and Security Reputation Factors. However, the results of data processing also show that the School Facilities Factor (component 1) is the most appropriate factor to summarize the 18 existing factors.

Abstract

The Whitelab Serum, as one of the beauty products, has experienced a decline in popularity. In 2022, Whitelab ranked fifth in the sales of best-selling serums on ecommerce platforms during the July-August period, with a total sale of 104,600. However, in 2024, Whitelab has dropped to the eleventh position in the sales of best-selling serums on Shopee. This study is an explanatory quantitative research type. The Total Utility theory is used to explain the relevance of price perception to purchasing decisions. The simple linear regression test on online customer reviews' impact on purchasing decisions shows a significance value of 0.584 (>0.05), thus rejecting the hypothesis, indicating that online customer reviews do not have an influence on the purchasing decision of Whitelab Serum. The significance value of price perception on purchasing decisions is 0.011 (<0.05), therefore accepting the hypothesis that price perception does influence the purchasing decision of Whitelab Serum.

Abstract

The Girl Up Semarang Community is a community that operates in the field of feminism which is directly supported by Girl Up Indonesia as a form of initiation by the United Nations Foundation to make SDGs Number 5 Gender Equality a success. As one of the largest communities in Semarang and with the power they have, they still lack the ability to create an interactive climate through their social media, this also applies to the campaign process they carry out, where there is a lack of participants in every campaign they carry out, However, despite this, Girl Up Semarang always strives to remain active both internally and externally in building effective and efficient communication with their audience.This research is qualitative research using the SWOT analysis method. Through interviews conducted with 5 respondents, it was found that the results of the SWOT analysis showed that on the IFE matrix Girl Up Semarang had the highest weight on the attractive branding factor with a weight of 0.30 and on the EFE matrix it had the highest weight on the online campaign factor, and the last one in the SPACE matrix shows that a good strategy that should be used is an aggressive strategy. This means that Girl Up Semarang has attractive branding qualities to be able to form a positive response from the public towards Girl Up Semarang with campaigns and various information that they distribute through their social media.

Abstract

Numerous social education communities have emerged to support the education of children by providing free learning facilities, relying on support from external parties for the implementation of their activities. However, this support is voluntary, making it irregular and uncertain, posing challenges and obstacles for the community in carrying out its initiatives. This research aims to investigate how the Satoe Atap community manages to secure support to aid the education of underprivileged families' children. It employs a qualitative research approach using a case study method within the post-positivism paradigm. Data collection techniques involve in-depth interviews with pattern-matching analysis. The research incorporates Anthony Giddens' Structuration Theory and John A. Ledingham's Relationship Management Theory. The findings indicate that Satoe Atap's communication management to obtain support is achieved through several methods. The planning process is documented through regular meeting activities. The execution process is evident in every activity conducted by Satoe Atap, such as managing social media, organizing events, and maintaining relationships with those who have previously assisted them. As a form of evaluation, Satoe Atap consistently assesses its activities to implement improvements for future events. However, the research results reveal that Satoe Atap has not fully implemented two-way relationship maintenance with all parties, and the community lacks specialized training for its internal management team.
