Abstract

This study explores visualization patterns in Indonesia’s spontaneous digital activism through three major hashtags, #KaburAjaDulu, #ResetIndonesia, and #fyp, using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). A total of 300 social media posts from Twitter (X), Instagram, and TikTok were purposively selected and analyzed at three levels: textual, discursive, and social practice. The results reveal that each hashtag demonstrates distinct visual and narrative strategies shaped by the issue context, participating actors, and distribution mechanisms. #KaburAjaDulu reflects spontaneous satire and public frustration through memes and videos, #ResetIndonesia articulates reformist discourse via structured visuals such as infographics and digital posters, while #fyp functions as an algorithmic amplification strategy on TikTok. These visualizations construct dominant and counter-narratives that reflect broader socio-political tensions and digital resistance.  The study contributes to digital political communication scholarship by integrating visual discourse analysis with critical theory, offering new insights into how visual symbols and platform algorithms collectively shape public opinion and facilitate collective engagement in Indonesia’s evolving online political sphere.

Abstract

This study identifies problems in Arabic language learning by examining student enthusiasm, participation and influencing factors. Using qualitative case explanatory field research, data wre collected through observation, interviews, and open-ended questionnaires from fifth grade students of the Islamic Special Program (Takhasus) at Madrasah Ibtida’iyah (MI) Taufiqiyah Semarang. The findings indicated that low enthusiasm and participation are influenced by limited learning motivation, insufficient teacher resources, perceptions of Arabic as a difficult subject, and limited instructional variation. These findings align with Charles Curran's theory, which emphasizes emotional support and a sense of security in learning. The use of interactive strategies such as educational games, group discussion, quizzes, and reward programs, was found to increase student engagement and interest. This study contributes theoretically and practically by enriching the literature and providing evidence-based insights for instructional practices in Islamic elementary education, and recommends further quantitative or mixed-method research.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the representation and normalization of emotional openness as an affective norm in Gen Z masculinity on TikTok, focusing on the fineshyt content trend. Using a qualitative discourse analysis approach, the study analyzes 15 TikTok videos featuring emotional expression by male Gen Z creators and 436 audience comments purposively selected based on affective relevance. Data were collected between August - October 2025 and examined to identify patterns of emotional expression and audience interaction.  The findings show that emotional openness is not articulated solely as individual expression but is collectively legitimized through audience responses that function as affective validation. Three dominant patterns of audience response emerge: affirmative appreciation of emotionally open masculinity, resistance grounded in traditional masculine norms, and relational fantasies that frame emotional openness as affective appeal. These interactions indicate a contextual shift in the representation of masculinity within specific TikTok content, where emotional expression is positioned as socially acceptable rather than as a sign of weakness.  While previous studies on digital masculinity have primarily focused on male self-representation, this study highlights the central role of audience interaction in shaping and normalizing emotional expression. This study extends existing masculinity and digital communication scholarship by conceptualizing emotional openness not merely as individual expression, but as an affective norm co-produced through audience interaction. By positioning the comment section as a site of affective negotiation, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of how gender norms are constructed within participatory digital environments.

Abstract

Inorganic or chemical fertilizers are often used by farmers to increase crop yield and quality in a short period of time. However, continuous use of inorganic fertilizers in high doses can reduce soil fertility, disrupt the balance of microorganisms, and pollute the environment. To address these impacts, the use of organic fertilizers becomes an environmentally friendly alternative that can improve soil structure and sustainably increase agricultural productivity. This practical experiment aims to understand the process of making vermicompost from a mixture of household organic waste and animal manure, as well as to evaluate the quality of the resulting vermicompost. The methods used include preparation of raw materials, pre-composting for seven days, worm inoculation, and maintenance of the medium for 30 days. The results of the experiment show that the vermicomposting process can accelerate the decomposition of organic materials and produce organic fertilizer with a fine texture and brown color. dark brown, with an earthy smell. Nutrient content analysis showed an increase in nitrogen and phosphorus levels compared to the raw material. Thus, the resulting vermicompost is suitable for use as an organic fertilizer for an increase in nitrogen and phosphorus levels compared to the initial material. Thus, the resulting vermicompost is suitable for use as an organic fertilizer to improve soil fertility and support sustainable agricultural cultivation.

Abstract

This article examines Indonesia’s digital transformation through a political economy of media perspective, focusing on platform dependency, digital labor, and governance relations. The study employs a qualitative analysis of secondary data, including national statistics, policy documents, industry reports, and recent academic studies related to Indonesia’s digital economy and media systems. Drawing on sources such as APJII (2023), BPS (2023), and regional digital economy reports, the analysis captures large-scale patterns of platform adoption, labor dynamics, and governance structures. The findings indicate that Indonesia’s digital ecosystem is characterized by structural asymmetries in infrastructural control, value extraction, and regulatory capacity. Rather than reflecting technological progress alone, digital transformation involves a reconfiguration of media power and platform-mediated participation. This article contributes to media and communication scholarship by offering an integrated political economy framework to understand how digital capitalism reshapes communication environments in emerging digital societies
