Abstract

Tanaman sembung (Blumea balsamifera) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat Indonesia yang daunnya secara tradisional telah dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat Bali sebagai loloh (minuman herbal), untuk mengobati berbagai macam penyakit seperti batuk, pilek, demam, nyeri haid, maag, diare, rematik, diabetes, dan menjaga kesehatan jantung. Pengabdian ini dilakukan untuk memberikan pengetahuan melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat PKK Banjar Apit Yeh Desa Manggis Karangasem tentang manfaat, pembuatan dan formulasi loloh sembung beserta kemasannya. Dalam pengabdian yang dilakukan, untuk menghasilkan satu botol loloh sembung dalam kemasan 300 mL, formulasi yang digunakan adalah 5 (lima) lembar daun sembung yang masih segar dan bersih terlebih dahulu dihaluskan dengan blender kemudian ditambahkan dengan tiga gelas air bersih (600 mL,) selanjutnya direbus sampai volume air tersisa 300 mL. Setelah air rebusan daun sembung dingin, kemudian disaring, dikemas ke dalam botol 300 mL, diberi label, dan siap untuk dipasarkan. Pemasaran dapat dilakukan melalui media sosial seperti Instagram, grup WhatsApp, dan Facebook.

Abstract

The function of OpenCV can be used as a method for detecting Balinese script objects . Experiments to detect Balinese script using this function are able to detect all objects that are on palm leaf media. Objects that have been detected are literal objects and non-literal objects. This study aims to improve the detection method with the findcontour function by adding a fuzzy algorithm, to separate Balinese script objects from non-Balinese characters. The data in this study were in the form of Balinese script written on palm leaves. The Balinese manuscripts used as data in the research are new manuscripts that were deliberately written for research purposes. Fuzzy logic in this study is used to determine objects that have been detected, including script objects or not. The results are visible from the detected objects, fuzzy logic is able to eliminate 400 - 5000 objects that are not needed. Meanwhile, in terms of time, the filtering process with fuzzy logic has an impact on the ROI process being faster with an average time of less than 1 second.

Abstract

Penyakit hati akibat alkohol (Alcoholic Liver Disease, ALD) adalah salah satu penyebab utama kematian akibat konsumsi alkohol kronis. ALD ditandai dengan kerusakan progresif pada hati yang meliputi steatosis, hepatitis alkoholik, fibrosis, hingga sirosis. Penyebab utama kerusakan adalah stres oksidatif, inflamasi, dan disfungsi mitokondria yang dipicu oleh akumulasi acetaldehyde dan spesies oksigen reaktif (ROS). Berbagai senyawa antioksidan alami dari tumbuhan obat telah menunjukkan efek hepatoprotektif yang signifikan. Senyawa seperti flafonoid dari Moringa oleifera, gingerol dan shogaol dari Zingiber officinale, serta flavolignan dari Silybum marianum telah terbukti efektif mengurangi tingkat AST, ALT, dan MDA. Selain itu, senyawa ini mampu meningkatkan aktivitas enzim antioksidan seperti SOD dan glutathione, serta menghambat pelepasan sitokin inflamasi. Hasil histopatologi menunjukkan regenerasi jaringan hati dan stabilisasi struktur hepatosit. Penelitian ini menyoroti potensi terapi berbasis senyawa antioksidan alami sebagai solusi aman dan efektif untuk manajemen ALD. Dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya alami ini, pengembangan pengobatan berbasis tumbuhan dapat menawarkan alternatif yang lebih terjangkau dan minim efek samping.

Abstract

Pelayanan surat-menyurat merupakan bagian dari kualitas kinerja pemerintah desa, dengan memberikan pelayanan surat-menyurat yang efektif dan efisien mampu meningkatkan kepuasan masyarakat terhadap administrasi desa. Saat ini pengelolaan pengajuan pembuatan surat-menyurat khususnya surat keterangan di Kantor Desa Adat Sibetan masih dilakukan dengan cara konvensional, sehingga menyebabkan beberapa permasalahan yang muncul. antara lain: proses pengajuan yang memerlukan waktu relatif lama, pengecekan status surat yang tidak efektif, data penduduk yang tidak terdokumentasi dengan baik. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut kegiatan pengabdian difokuskan pada pembuatan aplikasi digitalisasi surat-menyurat pada Kantor Desa Sibetan. Setelah aplikasi siap dan dihosting pada website maka dilakukan sosialisasi kepada warga Desa Sibetan. Evaluasi dari pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan dua cara, pertama adalah mengevaluasi website menggunakan aplikasi tool yaitu Pagespeed Insights dan evaluasi kedua adalah evaluasi kebermanfaatan dan output hasil surat-menyurat menggunakan kuisioner. Hasil evaluasi pertama menunjukkan nilai diagnosa kinerja bila dijalankan pada dekstop rata-rata sebesar 92,25 dan pada perangkat mobile/smartphone adalah rata sebesar 81,5. Evaluasi kedua menggunakan kuisioner yang diisi oleh peserta dalam sosialisasi menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi layanan surat-menyurat sangat bermanfaat dan bila diimplementasikan sangat mudah digunakan dan sangat efesien dalam mengurus surat-surat di Kantor Desa Sibetan.

Abstract

Bengkel Village is a very strategic location to introduce rural tourism as well as various Subak activities and other cultural attractions that are still maintained. The selection of Bengkel Village as a location for community service is based on several aspects of the problem, namely, human resources and production and marketing. There are still many MSME actors who pay little attention to how to manage finances properly and MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise) actors who still experience difficulties in distributing products (goods and services) and many have not maximized online marketing so that they can cover a wider target.The approach is carried out by providing training to the community in Bengkel Village, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency which is a smart village provided by the Ministry of Villages, namely the concept of a village based on digital and information technology. One of the efforts to maximize the potential is, starting from competency improvement training and how to market the products produced. The training provided is in the form of simple bookkeeping, tax calculation training, digital marketing strategy training for business development, and training on using social media as a promotional medium. This activity was attended by 15 MSME business actors in the Bengkel Village. Based on the results of the evaluation of community service activities, it can be concluded that the activities have been carried out in accordance with the needs and expectations of MSME actors in the Bengkel Tourism Village. Through this activity, it is hoped that the community can add insight so that the business is carried out in accordance with their respective plans and expectations.

Abstract

The people's livelihoods are very diverse and there are several types of MSMEs in Negari Village, making the field of entrepreneurship another potential that can be developed. There are several types of MSMEs in Negari Village including handicrafts from coconut shells, bowls, to kenoveksi screen printing and embroidery. The choice of Desa Negari as a location for community service is based on the existence of several aspects of the problem, namely human resources who still do not fully understand financial reports in managing their business finances. There are still many small entrepreneurs who have not properly recorded their finances. There are even those who do not keep records. Small and medium entrepreneurs usually only do bookkeeping, limited to recording income and expenses. Where this will impact losses and bankruptcy for the MSME actors themselves (Mu'minah, 2019). The approach to community service in Negari Village is carried out by providing training to the community. This is a form of effort to maximize the potential possessed through competency improvement training. Some of the training provided included an understanding of basic accounting, basic knowledge of financial records and training in making financial reports according to standards.

Abstract

Background: Male infertility is a significant global health issue, with rising prevalence linked to environmental factors such as secondhand smoke, which impairs sperm quality. This study aimed to examine how light physical activity and vitamin D supplementation improved sperm quality in rats exposed to cigarette smoke. Methods: This study used a randomized experimental design with 38 rats, divided into two groups. The control group was exposed to cigarette smoke and received vitamin D at 18 IU/kg body weight (BW) daily. The treatment group was exposed to cigarette smoke, received the same vitamin D dose, and underwent light physical activity. The 35-day research period involved the analysis of evaluated parameters. Differences between these parameters were assessed using an independent t-test, with statistical significance set at a P-value < 0.05. Results: Compared to the control group (p-values< 0.001), the treatment group, receiving light physical activity and vitamin D supplementation, exhibited significantly lower malondialdehyde (MDA) levels (0.96 ± 0.14 nmol/mL), higher vitamin D receptor expression (2.44 ± 0.58 cells/HPF), and increased testosterone levels (4.33 ± 0.76 ng/dL). Sperm quality was also significantly improved in the treatment group, showing higher sperm count (2.24 ± 0.81 × 10⁶/mL), motility (4.20 ± 0.23%), viability (3.07 ± 0.39%), and normal morphology (5.34 ± 0.17%) (p-values< 0.001). Conclusion: Light physical activity and vitamin D supplementation improved sperm quality in cigarette smoke-exposed male rats, correlating with reduced MDA and elevated vitamin D receptor expression and testosterone. Further clinical trials are warranted to explore human applications.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the quality and competitiveness of traditional snacks in Sangging Kusamba Village, Klungkung, by utilizing red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) pulp extract as a natural dye. Extraction was carried out using a maceration method using 90% ethanol. The characterization results using LC-MS Shimadzu LCMS-8040 showed the presence of betanidin pigments (2.28%), dopaxanthin-quinone (2.27%), valinebetaxanthin (2.12%), 3-O-methylquercetin (2.38%), kaempferol 3-O-galactoside (3.18%), kaempferol 7-O-D-glucopyranoside (2.40%), quercetin 3-rutinoside (2.18%), isorhamnetin 3-O-neohesperidoside (2.92%), betanin (0.94%), isobetanin (0.94%), and neobetanin (1.61%) were detected and contributed to the antioxidant activity of the extract. The presence of betacyanin and betaxanthin pigments plays a role in providing bright red-purple to orange colors, while flavonoid compounds (quercetin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin) and phenolics (ferulic acid, vanillic acid) support the antioxidant activity of the extract. Implementation in traditional snack business groups shows that natural dyes from red dragon fruit produce bright, stable colors, and are more in demand by consumers than synthetic dyes. Thus, the use of red dragon fruit extract can be a functional food solution that is safe, environmentally friendly, and has high economic value. These results indicate that dragon fruit flesh can be used effectively in this community service aims to develop natural dyes based on red dragon fruit peel as a safer alternative to synthetic dyes.

Abstract

Introduction: Pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil injection has become a standard procedure to treat retinal detachment with complex cases. Considerations related to the use of silicone oil are the need for additional surgical procedures to remove silicone oil after the retinal condition is declared stable or because emulsification of silicone oil has occurred. Methods: An analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected retrospectively by collecting medical records of patients who underwent silicone oil evacuation in 2021. Result: The research subjects were 23 people, where 52.2% of the subjects were women with a median age of 51 years. Most of the subjects (65.2%) had no complications, with the most complications occurring were secondary glaucoma (13%) and redetached retina (13%). There was no statistically significant difference between visual acuity before and after the evacuation of silicone oil with a P value of 0.202 and there was no statistically significant difference between IOP before and after evacuation of silicone oil with a P value of 0.132. Conclusion: Evacuation of silicone oil is a follow-up action after PPV with SO tamponade. Complications which may arise are detach dan glaucoma. There was no significant difference in visual acuity and IOP before and after SO evacuation.

Abstract

Introduction: The prevalence of diabetes mellitus increases over time in line with the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy is also expected to increase. It is not possible to determine which diabetic patients will have retinopathy, so therefore screening is needed. This study aims to have a better understanding in managing DM patients in the future, especially in cases of diabetic retinopathy in primary, secondary & community health care centers. Methods: A descriptive analytical study. Data collected cross sectional study based of characteristic and portable photo fundus from DM patients while doing social service at a health service center. Results: Portable photo fundus in this study, screening 138 DM patients, with majority of subjects is in the range 44-64 year age group (68.1%). There was the same number of patient between gender or type. History of DM in the family (63.0%) with a duration of DM ≤ 5 years (56.5%), mostly the quality of photo fundus that can be assessed (97.1%), patients who needed further treatment were referred to the ophthalmologist 59 cases (42.8%). Conclusion: People who live far from cities and have limited access to health facilities can be reached using this portable photo fundus, so that blindness in peripheral areas will be more easily detected and this can be used as a screening modality and blindness due to diabetic retinopathy can be prevented.
