Abstract

Various online media platforms, such as Google Classroom, Zoom, and WhatsApp, have been widely utilized to optimize teaching and learning activities. However, these platforms have not yet integrated inquiry-based learning into the science education process, resulting in limited engagement of students' critical thinking skills. Consequently, there is a need to develop an Inquiry-Based Environmental Pollution Learning Website (WPPLI) as a learning medium to address students' needs for more effective learning. This study aims to: (1) determine the feasibility of the WPPLI as an educational tool, and (2) analyze teachers' and students' responses to the WPPLI. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, utilizing the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) design model. Data were collected through media and content expert validation forms, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires. The results indicate that the WPPLI has been deemed suitable as a learning medium based on validation by media and content experts, with respective scores of 94.02% and 97.77%, both categorized as "Highly Suitable." Field testing of the WPPLI revealed average responses of 96.83% from teachers and 81.55% from students, both falling within the "Excellent" category

Abstract

Environmental pollution learning really needs technology-based media to increase the meaningful learning. Research has been conducted to develop an Android-based application as a media in the context of ecobrick  to increase students' awareness to the  environment conservation and student’s creativity. On using R and D with ADDIE design, the research was conducted through the steps: need analysis, designing, development, implementation, and evaluation. Research was then followed up with feasibility measurement To ensure that the media can be used in the learning practice. The validation was carried out through the expert  and user (tearcher) validation  test. In addition, survey techniques are used to explore direct responses by interviewing teachers. The validated media was then applied in the learning to measure the student awareness to the environment conservation. The research revealed that the media was very feasible to use with a high visibility index (expert validation index was 96.6%, meanwhile the CVR and CVI indexes were 0.98 and 0.99). The results of media implementation in environmental pollution learning show that the level of environmental awareness of students is in the high category (average student score = 82.49%), meanwhile the student’s creativity shows in the very good category (average student’s score was 92.97%)

Abstract

The implementation of high-quality learning is something teachers must ensure. Consequently, teachers need to be able to design engaging learning procedures that draw students' attention to the subjects they are teaching. Understanding a student's preferred learning style is one of the necessary teachers. People with learning styles closely tied to their environments and personalities are adjusted. The process of receiving knowledge will be improved by defining the learning material to the learner's preferred learning style. One of the most used diagnostic tools for determining learning type is the VARK model. The visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and kinesthetic learning styles are divided into four divisions in the VARK paradigm. This research aims to identify the dominant learning style among science students. A qualitative descriptive methodology used one hundred junior high school students as research participants. Diagnostic exams and interviews were the tools used. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively by reducing data, presenting data, and making conclusions. According to the findings, 35% of students are kinesthetic learners, with 30% being visual, 21% being Auditory, and 14%t being Read/Write. Identifying learning tools, such as choosing learning models, creating and choosing materials, and learning media and assessment approaches that are more effective in accordance with student learning styles, can be done by developing one's understanding of learning styles.
