Abstract

The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia in Indonesia is recorded in the elderly group at 15.5%. Pre-elderly and elderly are at-risk groups who are prone to hypercholesterolemia, especially in several conditions, such as over-nutrition status, high fat and low fiber food intake, and having a family history of hypercholesterolemia. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence total cholesterol levels in pre-elderly and elderly people in Kedaung Village. The study was conducted analytically observational with a cross-sectional design. Respondents in this study were 50 pre-elderly and elderly obtained from sample calculations using stratified sampling techniques. Data collection was taken using an SQ-FFQ questionnaire and analyzed by univariate analysis showed the frequency distribution of respondents' characteristics, and bivariate analysis was conducted using a chi-square test to identify the relationship between variables. The results of the study reported that 56% of respondents with total cholesterol levels ≥200 mg/dL. A total of 70% of respondents consumed high fat intake, 58% of respondents consumed low fiber intake, 60% of respondents had overweight status, and 64% had a family history of hypercholesterolemia. Analysis showed that the determinant factors associated with respondents' total cholesterol levels were fat intake (p=0.035), fiber intake (p=0.013), and family history (p=0.015). Pre-elderly and elderly with total cholesterol levels ≥200 mg/dL were found in respondents with high fat intake, low fiber intake, and a family history of hypercholesterolemia.

Abstract

Background: Various factors can contribute to obesity, such as an unbalanced intake of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, inadequate daily physical activity, and a lack of awareness about obesity.Objectives: Understanding the impact of physical activity factors, carbohydrate, fat, protein intake, and knowledge levels on the incidence of obesity in Kedaung Sub-District.Methods: This research employed a cross-sectional design with stratified random sampling to obtain the study sample. The study was conducted in the Kedaung area from September 6 to 9, 2024. The participants were adult women aged 21 to 49 years. The sample size, determined using the Lemeshow formula, comprised 46 respondents. Data collection was facilitated through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The research was conducted within the Kelurahan Kedaung area. The data analysis methods used included univariate analysis with descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis with the chi-square test.Results: There is no significant association between physical activity (p score = 0,822), carbohydrate intake (p = 0,537), fat intake (p = 0,822), protein intake (p = 0,373), and knowledge level (p = 0,727) with the incidence of obesity in adult women in Kedaung sub district.Conclusions: All variables were tested and found to have no significant association with the incidence of obesity in adult women in Kelurahan Kedaung.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a medical condition characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), Indonesia ranks fifth in the world for the highest number of diabetes cases, with 19.5 million people affected in 2021, and this number is expected to rise to 28.6 million by 2045. In Kedaung Depok Village, the number of diabetes cases in 2023 has also increased compared to the previous year. This study aims to determine the risk factors associated with the occurrence of Diabetes Mellitus in pre-elderly and elderly individuals in Kedaung Depok Village. The study used a cross-sectional design with stratified sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square tests. The results showed a significant association between family history and the occurrence of diabetes mellitus (p-value=0.029). However, no significant association was found between nutritional status (p-value=0.063) and carbohydrate intake (p-value=0.758) with the occurrence of diabetes mellitus in pre-elderly and elderly individuals in Kedaung Depok Village. In conclusion, family history is the most significant risk factor associated with the occurrence of diabetes mellitus in pre-elderly and elderly individuals in Kedaung Depok Village

Abstract

Background: Teenagers are in the age range of 10-19 years. Teenage girls are a group that is vulnerable to problems related to nutrition, including anemia wich can be caused by diet and physical activity. The prevalence of anemia in Depok in 2019 being 16.42%. Based on 2018 Riskesdas data, out of 80.9% of iron supplement coverage in middle and high schools, 20,5% of young women felt there was no need to finish or consume iron supplement. Purpose: this activity aims to examine the factors that influence nutritional status and anemia in teenage girls aged 12-19 years in the UPTD Puskesmas Limo, Depok work area. Method: Education was carried out after completing the pre-test using leaflets for 30 female students at SMK Ekonomika, then continued with completing the post-test. Results: the results obtained from this activity were an increase in post-test scores ≥60 by 70%. The results obtained from the Wilcoxon test are Sig. values, 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion: the conclusion of the tests carried out is that there is a difference in knowledge regarding balanced nutrition guidelines and anemia before and after the education was carried out. Abstrak Latar belakang: remaja berada pada rentang usia 10-19 tahun. Remaja putri merupakan kelompok yang rentan terhadap permasalahan gizi, termasuk anemia yang dapat disebabkan oleh pola makan dan aktivitas fisik. Prevalensi anemia di Kota Depok pada tahun 2019 sebesar 16.42%. Berdasarkan data Riskesdas tahun 2018, dari 80.9% cakupan suplemen zat besi di SMP dan SMA, 20.5% remaja putri merasa tidak perlu menghabiskan atau mengkonsumsi tablet tambah darah. Tujuan: kegiatan ini bertujuan unutk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi status gizi dan anemia pada remaja putri usia 12-19 tahun di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Limo, Depok. Metode: Edukasi dilaksanakan setelah peserta menyelesaikan pra-tes menggunakan leaflet kepada 30 siswi SMK Ekonomika, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan menyelesaikan pasca-tes. Hasil: hasil yang diperoleh dari uji Wilcoxon adalah nilai Sig 0.000 <0.05. Kesimpulan: kesimpulan dari tes yang dilakukan adalah terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan tentang pedoman gizi seimbang dan anemia saat sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan edukasi.

Abstract

Abstrak Berdasarkan Peraturan Walikota Depok Nomor 94 Tahun 2022, Kota Depok menempati urutan kedua setelah Kota Bekasi dalam hal prevalensi penduduk dengan status gizi obesitas menurut IMT di Jawa Barat, yaitu sebanyak 29,16%. Obesitas pada perempuan dipengaruhi oleh faktor hormonal, pola makan tinggi kalori, kurang aktivitas fisik, ketahanan pangan rendah, serta minimnya pengetahuan gizi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif media poster dan food model dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan gizi melalui penyuluhan kepada 30 wanita usia subur di wilayah UPTD Puskesmas Limo. Metode kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan pendekatan edukatif partisipatif melalui penyuluhan dengan memanfaatkan media poster dan food model di Mushola Al Kautsar, RT 02/07, Grogol, Limo, Depok. Proses penyuluhan ini diawali dengan pelaksanaan pre-test untuk mengetahui pengetahuan awal peserta, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan penyampaian materi, dan diakhiri dengan post-test untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penyuluhan.". Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta mengenai gizi setelah mengikuti penyuluhan. Nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 53,33% meningkat menjadi 83% pada post-test. Peningkatan ini mencerminkan bahwa penggunaan media poster dan food model efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman wanita usia subur terkait obesitas, pola makan seimbang, dan pentingnya aktivitas fisik. Edukasi ini berdampak positif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan mendorong perubahan perilaku pada wanita usia subur.Kata kunci: Food Model, Obesitas, Penyuluhan, Poster, Wanita Usia Subur.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Air susu ibu (ASI) merupakan sumber nutrisi alami yang berasal dari seorang ibu setelah melahirkan, dan direkomendasikan sebagai satu-satunya makanan untuk bayi baru lahir hingga usia enam bulan. WHO menganjurkan ASI eksklusif diberikan tanpa disertai makanan atau minuman apapun, termasuk air, namun obat-obatan dapat diberikan jika dalam kondisi medis yang yang diperlukan. Dalam praktik pelaksanaan ASI eksklusif, kader kesehatan memiliki peran yang sangat esensial terkait pengetahuan dan keterampilannya dalam hal praktik menyusui. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan edukasi tentang ASI eksklusif perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan serta keterampilan para kader untuk memaksimalkan proses pendampingan ibu menyusui. Kegiatan edukasi ini dilakukan agar pengetahuan tentang ASI eksklusif dan keterampilan kader dalam teknik perlekatan serta pijat laktasi meningkat. Edukasi dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah menggunakan media leaflet, serta praktik menggunakan boneka bayi dan laktasi kit kepada 33 kader kesehatan di Kecamatan Sawangan, Depok. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan nilai posttest (>76) sebesar 48,5%. Dimana didapatkan output yang diperoleh dari uji wilcoxon yaitu nilai Sig. 0,000 < 0,05, yang mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader setelah edukasi. Oleh karena itu, dapat diketahui bahwa edukasi menggunakan metode ceramah melalui media leaflet serta praktik menggunakan boneka bayi dan laktasi kit mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan serta keterampilan kader terkait ASI eksklusif. Kata Kunci: ASI Eksklusif, Ceramah, Kader Kesehatan, Praktik  ABSTRACT Breast Milk is a natural source of nutrition from a mother after giving birth, and is recommended as the only food for newborns up to six months of age. WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding without any food or drink, including water, but medication can be given if medical conditions require it. In the practice of implementing exclusive breastfeeding, health cadres have a very essential role related to their knowledge and skills in breastfeeding practices. Therefore, educational activities about exclusive breastfeeding need to be carried out to improve the knowledge and skills of cadres to maximize the process of assisting breastfeeding mothers. This educational activity is carried out so that knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and cadre skills in attachment techniques and lactation massage increase. Education was carried out through lectures using leaflet media, as well as practical sessions using baby dolls and lactation kits for 33 health cadres in Sawangan District, Depok. The results showed an increase in posttest scores (> 76) by 48.5%. The Wilcoxon test produced a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating an increase in cadre knowledge and skills after education. Therefore, it can be concluded that education using lecture methods through leaflet media, along with practical sessions using baby dolls and lactation kits, effectively enhances the knowledge and skills of cadres regarding exclusive breastfeeding Keywords: Exclusive Breastfeeding, Lectures, Health Cadre, Practice

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Pemeriksaan tekanan darah dan gula darah adalah langkah awal untuk mendeteksi hipertensi dan diabetes. Hipertensi dan Diabetes melitus (DM) khususnya tipe 2 adalah penyakit degeneratif yang angka kejadian dan komplikasinya semakin meningkat seiring berjalannya waktu. Studi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait pengukuran tekanan darah dan gula darah para kader kesehatan di kecamatan Sawangan kota Depok. Metode: Ceramah dan praktik. Hasil: Adanya peningkatan nilai dari 57,88 menjadi 77,27 pada materi pengukuran tekanan darah, dan perubahan nilai dari 58,79 menjadi 81,12 pada materi pengukuran gula darah. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dan juga kader di Sawangan Kota Depok tentang pengukuran tekanan darah dan gula darah.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kesadaran untuk menerapkan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) perlu ditingkatkan karena adanya kendala di masyarakat akibat kurangnya akses dan fasilitas. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengedukasi masyarakat di Kampung Pemulung dalam menerapkan PHBS dan memantau status gizi dan kesehatan untuk menghindari risiko penyakit di tingkat rumah tangga. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah melakukan asesmen gizi dan tekanan darah yang merupakan bagian dari PHBS serta sosialisasi PHBS kepada 45 orang ibu di RT 02 Kampung Pemulung Pondok Kelapa, Jakarta Timur. Berdasarkan hasil asesmen, lebih dari separuh peserta mengalami obesitas dan hipertensi. Berdasarkan observasi selama pengabdian masyarakat, sebagian besar peserta mempunyai pola makan yang tidak seimbang. Saat kami menggalakkan PHBS, diketahui bahwa sebagian besar peserta belum pernah mendengar tentang PHBS dan tidak mengetahui cara penerapannya di tingkat rumah tangga. Pengabdian masyarakat ini berhasil dengan antusiasme peserta dan aktif bertanya seputar PHBS. Dari pengabdian masyarakat ini, kami berharap peserta dapat menambah pengetahuannya tentang PHBS dan memperbaiki pola hidup agar terhindar dari risiko penyakit baik menular maupun tidak menular. Kata Kunci: Tekanan Darah, Kampung Pemulung, Asesmen Gizi, Promosi PHBS.  ABSTRACT Awareness of implementing Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS/ Healthy Living) needs increments because there was obstacles in community due to lack of access and facilities. The purpose of this community service was to educate community at Kampung Pemulung to implementing PHBS and monitoring nutritional and health status to avoid disease risk at household level. Method of this community service were obtaining nutritional and blood pressure assessment which are part of PHBS and promote PHBS to 45 mothers from RT 02 Kampung Pemulung Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta. According to assessment result, more than half of participants were obese and hypertension. Due to observation during the community service, most of participants had unbalance diet pattern. As we promote PHBS, it was known that most of participants had never been heard about PHBS and they did not know how to implementing at household level. This community service were succeeded by participants enthusiasm and they were active to ask about PHBS. From this community service, we hope that participants could increase their knowledge about PHBS and improve their life pattern to avoid disease risk whether communicable nor non communicable. Keywords: Blood Pressure, Kampung Pemulung, Nutrtitional Assessment, PHBS Promotion.

Abstract

Menstrual disorders are still a problem which is often found. In Indonesia, the prevalence of menstrual cycle disorders in adolescent females is 11.7%. It can occur due to several factors; such as, imbalanced nutritional intake, the level of academic stress experienced by adolescent, and sleep quality. If menstrual cycle disorders are not treated properly, it can affect the quality of life related to health; such as, increasing the risk of various uterine cancers, bone fractures and infertility. The aim of this study is that to analyze the relationship between protein, fat intake, academic stress levels and sleep quality with menstrual cycle in adolescent females at the Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School. This study was a quantitative study by using a cross sectional study design. The sampling technique was stratified random sampling with a sample size of 104 respondents. Moreover, the data in this study was obtained from filling out questionnaires and interviews. Meanwhile, bivariate analysis was conducted by using the chi square test. The results of the chi square test shows that there is a significant relationship between protein intake (p-value = 0.026) and fat intake (p-value = 0.029) with the menstrual cycle. Meanwhile, variables which are not related are academic stress level (p-value = 0.0.491) and sleep quality (p-value = 0.5). It is expected to be more paid attention to food intake based on balanced nutrition

Abstract

Background: Obesity is a nutritional problem in Indonesia. A factor that influences the incidence of obesity is a high-sugar diet (ex: ice cream products). The consumption rate of ice cream increases every year and is also accompanied by an increasing number of outlets providing ice cream products. Added sugar in ice cream contributes to an increased intake of high-calorie foods that leads to obesity. Objectives: To analyze level of knowledge, consumption habits, sugar and calorie content of ice cream on the nutritional status of Depok students. Methods: Observational research with cross-sectional design, analyzed with frequency distribution and chi-square test. Data were obtained using online questionnaire. The research was conducted in the city of Depok, involving 939 samples of Depok students selected with purposive sampling methods. Results: 667 (71.0%) students have a good level of nutritional knowledge and 578 (61.6%) students unusually eat ice cream. There is no relationship between the level of nutritional knowledge (p-value: 0.609) and ice cream consumption habits (p-value: 0.211) on the nutritional status of students. Vanilla ice cream cup with cookies and cream topping is the most preferred ice cream, containing 13.28 grams of sugar and 154.11 kcal calories. Conclusions: Depok students have good nutritional knowledge and unusually eat ice cream. The sugar and calorie content of the ice cream are high.
