Abstract

This study aims to analyze the existing conditions of handling areas and slums in Mojokerto in accordance with the SDG's framework, and determine the dominant factors that influence the handling of areas and slums in the region. The research method used is Mix Method. The results of the analysis show that the existing condition of slum areas in Kedungmaling Village, Sooko Sub-district, Mojokerto District falls into the Moderate Slum category. However, there are no factors that can be included in the logistic equation model in multivariate analysis with logistic regression on the analysis parameters for safe and resilient cities/settlements. In the context of the SDG's framework, the handling of slum areas and settlements in Mojokerto needs to be evaluated by taking into account the dimensions of sustainable development compiled in the SDG's concept, as well as the indicators used to measure (Sustainable Cities and Communities) in the SDG's. Thus, a strategy for handling slum areas and settlements in Mojokerto can be developed. Thus, strategies for handling slum areas and settlements can be developed that are more in line with the principles of sustainable development included in the SDG's.

Abstract

Infrastructure is an instrument to facilitate the rotation of the economy so that it can accelerate development. Funding is a major challenge in national infrastructure development. The state budget is only able to support about one-third of the total infrastructure funding required. Unconventional financing alternatives provide significant benefits to national infrastructure development. Unconventional state-owned infrastructure financing has a positive impact on national economic resilience. Increasing the speed of infrastructure development by using non-conventional approaches, infrastructure development can be accelerated because it can involve private participation in financing and managing infrastructure projects. This research uses normative juridical method by using statutory approach and conceptual approach.

Abstract

Indonesia has natural resources that can encourage the economy, one of which is by carrying out export activities. However, Indonesia's exports, especially in the non-oil and gas sector, only grew by 1% in the period 2013 - 2020. For this reason, in the non-oil and gas sector there are commodities that have the potential to increase exports, including Coffee, Frozen Shrimp and Coal. In international trade, there are several competing countries for these commodities, so strong competitiveness is needed to survive in the international market. This study aims to see the extent to which Indonesia has competitiveness in the international market and what factors affect the growth of the export commodities studied. The results of this study are expected to be a suggestion for the government to determine the right policies to increase Indonesia's exports, especially in the non-oil and gas sector. This study uses the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) method to see how strong the competitiveness is and Constant Market Share (CMS) to see the factors that affect the growth of the export commodities studied. The results of this study indicate that the three commodities studied, namely Coffee, Frozen Shrimp and Coal, have strong competitiveness in the international market.

Abstract

Humans are any region’s main source of development. Therefore, improvement on their quality, which is measured through Human Development Index (HDI), is necessary. Cities and regencies in Papua city are high in discrepancy concerning the said index. Therefore, the roles of the government as the policy makers are crucial. The objective of this research is to identify the effects of local own-source revenue and special autonomy funds on HDI with capital expenditures as the moderating variable. This research uses secondary data from 29 regencies and cities in Papua province, from 2017 to 2021 and was analyzed through panel data regression with interaction. The hypothesis testing and the model feasibility assessment were conducted using t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination test. This study finds that local own-source revenue, special autonomy funds, and capital expenditures negatively and significantly influence HDI. Furthermore, capital expenditures as the moderating variable were found to strengthen the partial effects of local own-source revenue and special autonomy funds to HDI. Finally, this research is expected to serve as evaluation material and reference for the government in its policy-making processes and to enrich the treasury of knowledge in financial literacy.

Abstract

The achievement of human development is frequently interconnected with the economic growth. Fiscal decentralization allows local governments to enhance budget management in order to stimulate economic growth through expenditure and investment. Despite having the second highest Human Development Index (HDI) in Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta faces difficulties of being the province with the lowest economic growth in Java. Hence, the government's involvement in allocating funds towards education, healthcare, and investment is crucial in fostering economic growth and promoting human development. This study used path analysis technique to investigate the correlation between government expenditure on education and health services, as well as the investment in human development through economic growth in the District/City of Yogyakarta Special Region. The data used is secondary data collected between 2015-2021, encompassing four districts and one city. The research using the trimming model revealed that government expenditure on the education sector has a noteworthy adverse impact on HDI, albeit indirectly, affecting economic growth. Government expenditure on healthcare has an indirect but significant positive impact on the HDI via promoting economic growth. Conversely, investment does not exert a substantial impact, either directly or indirectly on HDI.
