Abstract

Language is the communication tool which also has meanings. Language meanings can be taken from direct speech acts and indirect speech acts. Furthermore, those meanings can give people’s motivation. Famous quote is one of the ways to increase the motivation. Famous quotes can be from various languages. They consist of words, phrases and sentences which have influential and worthed messages and meanings which are useful to increase studying motivation. AMIK JTC Semarang uses famous quotes in the form of posters to influent the positive mindset and attitude of students in achieving the goals. The purposes of this study are to investigate and analyse whether famous quotes of world figures can improve the studying motivation of students or not and which famous quotes of world figures have strong, enough and weak influences that can improve the studying motivation of students based on the students’ perceptions in the form of converted numbers. The method used in this study is quantitative method. This study is based on the results of analysis by using Likert scales and counted and converted by using three box method and SPSS. There are 44 famous quotes of world figures in the form of posters at AMIK JTC Semarang. Most of 44 famous quotes get high perceptions from the students who have ever seen and known them. It means that most of the students recognize and agree that 44 famous quotes of world figures at AMIK JTC Semarang can give their studying motivations to reach their goals and success. However, it can be summarized that there are 8 famous quotes which have strong influence in improving the student’s studying motivation, 24 famous quotes with enough influence, and 12 famous quotes with low or weak influence in improving the studying motivation of students.

Abstract

Kebahagiaan dosen adalah saat merasakan tubuh dan jiwanya sehat. Banyak permasalahan pekerjaan dan keluarga pada dosen karena kurangnya pengelolaan konflik yang baik sehingga bekerja tidak fokus. Support sistem pada dosen penting, agar mampu mengelola konflik yang terjadi dan menjalani aktivitasnya di pekerjaan dan keluarga dengan fokus dan bahagia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menguji secara empiris kebahagiaan dosen yang ditinjau dari konflik kerja-keluarga melalui peran mindfulness sebagai variabel mediator. Metodenya adalah kuantitatif, dengan menggunakan responden Dosen yang ada di kota Semarang sebanyak 120 orang. Menggunakan Teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling dan metode analisis data dengan Regresi simple mediation model  SPSS by Hayes. Hasil penelitian mennjukkan ada pengaruh konflik kerja-keluarga terhadap kebahagiaan dosen melalui mindfulness sebesar RSquare=.515 p<0.05. Konflik kerja-keluarga berpengaruh lebih besar secara langsung terhadap kebahagiaan dosen dibandingkan melalui mindfulness. Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi agar dapat dijadikan acuan tentang pengaplikasian pengelolaan konflik di pekerjaan dan keluarga.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought significant problems and changes to the education sector around the world, including in Southeast Asia. The learning process is a heavily impacted sector that requiring attention and strategies to overcome it. This study aims to explore how universities in Southeast Asia choose and implement online learning strategies and what learning theories are based on them. The research method used Systemic Literature Review based on the Scopus database. The object of research used articles from top ranking universities ASEAN, namely the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore. Researchers found 18 articles that had Online Learning coding, Method/Model and year 2019-2021. The findings from the research are 30 online learning models consisting of full online learning to hybrid learning. The application of this learning model also has 3 basic online learning theories, namely "Community of Inquiry" (CoI), Connectivism, and Online Collaborative Learning (OCL).

Abstract

The personal social media makes people easily upload narration, photos, or videos using their own accounts. Online learning system during the pandemic makes the students having less social interaction that affects their character development. The problem is the lack of language politeness in social media. This can be seen in the improper dictions which found on social media. The purpose of this Community Service Program is to increase the social media literacy skills for the students of Semarang Vocational High School named Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Perdana Semarang. Having the literacy skills, students would be able to use social media wisely. Discussion and socialization methods had used in this community service. Result of this Community Service Program is the increasing social media knowledge and social media literacy skills of the students of SMK Perdana Semarang.
