Abstract

Kepulauan seribu archipelago is home to Kelapa Dua Island, a potential marine tourism destination and habitat for diverse marine life. The survival of marine biota hinges on suitable physical and chemical water parameters, encompassing temperature, pH, salinity, and dissolved oxygen (DO). This study aims to evaluate water quality and litter distribution on Kelapa Dua Island within Kepualauan Seribu National Park. Results reveal that the water quality largely aligns with established standards; however, specific points surpass limits, notably lower salinity at stasion 3 (26%o), and higher pH at station 2 (9.35). Despite meeting quality standards, the island's status as a populated area and tourist destination raises concerns about potential alterations to water quality. Furthermore, observations on litter distribution indicate a status categorized as B (0-4/m) and C (4-10/m), highlighting a relatively low level of litter presence. The interaction of human activities, both as inhabitants and visitors, may contribute to fluctuations in water quality. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for sustainable management, ensuring the preservation of Pulau Kelapa's ecological integrity as a cherished marine environment and tourist attraction. Abstract

Glacilaria sp. is one type of red algae that is widely found in Indonesia. Red algae has anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and other benefits. Endophytic microbes associated with seaweeds such as bacteria and fungus are thought to be able to produce the same bioactive compounds as their host, seaweeds. Several studies have also shown that the antibacterial activity of endophytic microbes can inhibit pathogenic bacteria. This study was conducted to identify endophytic bacteria present in Glacilaria sp. in inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria (Vibrio sp. and S. aureus). Endophytic bacteria found in Gracilaria sp. isolated and tested for antibacterial activity using Staphylococcus aureus and Vibrio sp. bacteria. with disc disc method. the results showed that endophytic bacteria of the red algae Gracilaria sp. has antibacterial activity against bacteria S. aureus and Vibrio sp. It has inhibitory zones of 8 mm and 7.6 mm, respectively

Abstract

Permasalahan yang paling banyak ditemui dalam budidaya yang memiliki keterkaitan dengan akumulasi senyawa nitrogen (amonia dan nitrit) yang berasal dari sisa pakan dan hasil ekskresi metabolik organisme budidaya. Solusi terhadap permasalahan tersebut, teknologi bioflok dikembangkan sebagai pendekatan budidaya berkelanjutan berbasis pemanfaatan komunitas mikroorganisme untuk mendaur ulang nutrien secara in situ. Bioflok tidak hanya berperan sebagai sistem pengolahan limbah secara biologis, tetapi juga menghasilkan agregat mikroorganisme yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber nutrisi tambahan bagi organisme budidaya. Keberhasilan sistem bioflok bergantung pada manajemen aerasi yang optimal. Aktivitas bakteri heterotrof dalam sistem bioflok membutuhkan konsumsi oksigen yang tinggi, sehingga aerasi berperan penting dalam menyediakan oksigen terlarut, menjaga flok tetap tersuspensi, serta mendukung proses biodegradasi bahan organik di dalam kolam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas berbagai macam system aerasi dalam sistem bioflok dalam menjaga kualitas air dan mendukung pertumbuhan ikan secara optimal. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-eksploratif. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini mengacu pada penelusuran literatur dari berbagai penelitian terdahulu yang dipublikasikan di jurnal nasional maupun internasional. Berdasarkan perbandingan dari beberapa penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan sistem aerasi modern seperti microbubble dan nanobubble memiliki efisiensi tinggi dalam proses transfer oksigen serta pengelolaan kualitas air jika dibandingkan dengan sistem aerasi konvensional seperti blower atau batu aerasi, namun penggunaan sistem ini masih banyak diterapkan karena lebih mudah dioperasikan dan memiliki biaya yang relatif lebih rendah.  Kata kunci: Bioflok, Aerasi, Kualitas Air, Pertumbuhan Ikan

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence and determine the optimal dose of moringa leaf extract and kencur in feed on the growth performance of catfish seeds. This research was carried out at the Aquaculture Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Padjadjaran University from February to March 2024. Sampling in this study used an experimental method using a Complete Random Design (RAL), the growth data obtained was analyzed using the analysis of the F test variety fingerprint (ANOVA / Analysis of Varience) and for the water quality data was analyzed descriptively. The results of this study, namely the addition of 150 mg/kg of moringa leaf extract and 250 mg/kg of kencur extract to feed had an effect on improving the growth performance of catfish seeds which was more optimal than other treatments, as shown by an increase in the percentage of absolute length growth (4.2 cm), absolute weight (57.58 g), SGR (3.80%), FCR (1.44%), EPP (68.90%), and SR (100%). The water quality values during fish rearing are in the optimal range including temperature (27.5-28.3°C), pH (7.0-7.5), and DO (5.2-7.5 mg/L).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence and determination of the optimal dose of the addition of brown algae extract on the growth performance and immunity of god fish seeds. The research was conducted in March - May 2024, at the Aquaculture Lab Building 4, FPIK Unpad, and the production of brown algae extract was carried out at the Aquaculture Lab Building 2, FPIK Unpad. This study used a complete randomized design (RAL) experimental method with four treatments and four replicates. The treatments given were (A) 100% commercial feed (control), (B) commercial feed added with brown algae extract at a dose of 10gr/kg, (C) commercial feed added with brown algae extract at a dose of 15 g/kg, and (D) commercial feed added with brown algae extract at a dose of 20 g/kg. The maintenance of fish fry is carried out for 40 days, with feeding three times a day. The observed parameters included absolute length growth parameters (L), absolute weight (W), specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed utilization efficiency (EPP), and survival rate (SR) which were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Varience) with a confidence level of 95%, if there is a significant difference, followed by the Duncan test. Water quality data was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the addition of brown algae extract for feed at a dose of 20gr/kg had a more optimal effect than other treatments because of the bioactive compounds it contained. The dose had an effect on the growth of absolute length (1.6 cm), absolute weight (126.3 g), SGR (2.39%), FCR (2.28), EPP (44%) and water quality values during the maintenance period were still in the optimal range for god fish seeds.
