The sampling technique uses purposive sampling and snowball sampling and the data collection techniques used are documentation, semi-structured interviews and observation. Field data findings show that the fishing community in Kedungrejo Village is a heterogeneous, consumptive community and based on interviews found that community perceptions about the importance of 12 years of formal education are as a provision for diplomas to look for work as land laborers. The meaning of 12 years of formal education in the form of maturity has not yet been felt by the community from the number due to environmental and social factors which are seen from the number of 2292 elementary school students who continue to the first level only 30% ie 308 who reached the top education level. so the 12-year formal education function that has a role to develop the community's potential is indisputable because of the social stratum between the skipper fisherman and the fisherman laborers. It is here that the important function of 12 years formal education is completely collided with the perception of the fishing community in Kedungrejo Village, Muncar District.

Abstract

The qualitative study aimed to understand the Research Skills Development Framework (RSD) implications for Indonesian master students' academic achievement. Experience proves that success at the master's level is closely related to mastering academic research competencies. A typical study at the master's level requires research skills to complete tasks and jobs that require research application acuity. To understand this study's problem, study the data we have done, including reviewing ten academic findings from international publications, observing and documenting data related to this topic. After the data was collected, we were then provided with analysis, including text analysis, description, coding, and immersion results. Every text is in a language, so we use a translation application to help us understand Indonesian. To determine whether the data constitutes a valid and reliable study finding, we review it and make sure we have answered the study questions. So the results we can report that the RSD framework has become a conceptual framework for the development of research skills for academic and educational needs. The reason is that the RSD framework is beneficial and useful in working on completing tasks that require skill in examining problems to find answers. Thus, these findings become meaningful input for the academic community and other professions. Keywords: Research Skill Development, Academic Outcome Improvement, Academic Achievement

Abstract

The maritime kingdoms in the Nusantara region hold significance in being preserved for future generations through history textbooks as sources and learning media. The challenge lies in how the local maritime kingdoms in Nusantara are presented in the high school history textbooks for Social Studies subjects. The research method employed is qualitative and descriptive, utilizing documents from the 1994, 2006, and 2013 editions of the IPS History textbooks as the data source. Data analysis is conducted by applying Teun A. van Dijk's three dimensions of text, social cognition, and social context theory. The findings reveal that several local maritime kingdoms emphasized in the high school History textbooks are the Kingdoms of Srivijaya, Majapahit, Demak, Samudra Pasai, and Makassar. These kingdoms held strategic positions in maritime regions, with ports serving as trade hubs and transit centers, alongside active community participation in maritime trade activities. A key characteristic of these kingdoms was their strong naval fleets, crucial for maintaining security and order in the sea waters.

This research aims to analyze the transformation of history learning based on local wisdom in fostering historical awareness in generation Z at MA Matik Al Uswah Banyuwangi. The background of this research is based on the need to strengthen students' historical identity and character through a contextual, meaningful, and local culture-based approach in the midst of strong digitalization and globalization currents. The methodology used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The research informants consisted of a history teacher (Yumna), a school principal (Ustadz Oky), and a grade XII student (Fahat Indra Tanaya and Anugrah Zulkarnaik Saputra). The results show that the integration of local wisdom in history learning makes a significant contribution to improving student understanding, emotional engagement, and character. Digital media such as documentary videos, project based learning, and virtual tours of local historical sites have proven effective in building connections between teaching materials and students' real lives. Another important finding is the increase in critical thinking skills and appreciation of local cultural values. This finding shows that history learning innovations based on local wisdom and supported by digital technology are able to become a transformative and adaptive learning model to the characteristics of generation Z. This study recommends the expansion of this model to other educational units to strengthen students' character education and historical literacy in a sustainable manner in the era of disruption. Ultimately, this research not only contributes to strengthening character education and historical literacy but also offers a scalable framework for educational transformation in the era of disruption, ensuring history learning remains relevant, engaging, and culturally grounded.

Abstract

Local culture-based creative economy has become an important pillar in economic development in various regions, including Banyuwangi. With cultural richness such as Gandrung dance, Osing batik, and various cultural festivals, Banyuwangi has great potential to develop a sustainable creative economy. This study aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and sustainability strategies in developing a local culture-based creative economy. The method used was a seminar involving 50 participants from various groups, including creative economy actors, academics, and local MSMEs. The results of the seminar showed that digitalization and product innovation are the main factors in increasing the competitiveness of the creative economy in Banyuwangi. In addition, there are challenges in the form of a lack of digital literacy, limited access to capital, and the need for protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for local cultural products. To overcome these challenges, the proposed sustainability strategies include increasing training and education for creative economy actors, strengthening digital infrastructure, and diversifying funding through partnerships with the private sector and government. With the implementation of the right strategy, the local culture-based creative economy in Banyuwangi can continue to develop as a leading sector that not only supports regional economic growth but also preserves local cultural heritage.
