Abstract

This study aims to analyze the productivity and income of farmers on the pattern row planting legowo and tiles as well as formulate alternative strategies that are appropriate for the development of paddy rice rain-fed in an effort to increase productivity and income of farmers in the District Moncongloe Maros Regency of South Sulawesi. The research method used is purposive sampling based on the type of rice varieties used, namely Inpari 33 with the pattern of row planting legowo and tiles as well as rainfed land. The sample taken is a member of the farmer group Biring Jene 1 and farmer group Biring Jene 2. Two of these groups are selected because members of this group there that uses the pattern legowo row planting and using varieties Inpari 33. The results of the research that the amount of revenue jajar legowo higher compared to tiles with at 9.358,3 kg/Ha or Rp. 42.112.350 to forecast legowo row planting and 4.185,4 kg/Ha or Rp. 18.834.449 for the reception of grain production in the cropping pattern tiles, with a difference of the receipt of such production of 5.172,9 kg/Ha or Rp. 23.277.901 and the value of the R/C ratio of 1,53 jajar legowo and of 1.49 for the tiles. The formulation of the strategy of SWOT analysis is a Strategy S-O, among others, the Development and improve the human resource capabilities of farmers in agricultural technology innovation, strategy W-O, among others, improve the ability mastery of appropriate technology for farmers, the strategy S-T, among others, the optimization of the agricultural land and the strategy of W-T, among others, use varieties that are resistant to PEST and disease and able to survive extreme conditions.

Abstract

Sebuah kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan petani terhadap teknologi budidaya permakultur dan penggunaan benih bermutu dalam mendukung peningkatan produksi tanaman. Mitra pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah Kelompok Tani Sandang dan Kelompok Tani Bukit Soe Desa Pamboborang. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah dalam bentuk penyuluhan kepada mitra petani. Penyuluhan dilaksanakan pada hari Sabtu, tanggal 11 Januari 2025 di Desa Pamboborang, Kecamatan Banggae, Kabupaten Majene dengan materi terkait teknologi permakultur dan pengenalan karakter dan peran serta manfaat benih bermutu dalam budidaya tanaman pangan dan hortikultura. Penyuluhan yang dilaksanakan mendapatkan respon yang positif dari kelompok tani mitra dan memberikan manfaat berupa peningkatan pengetahuan tentang teknologi budidaya permakultur yang meliputi implementasi budidaya tanaman di pekarangan dengan cara yang ramah lingkungan. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mitra tentang pentingnya menggunakan benih bermutu dari varietas unggul untuk mengoptimalkan produksi tanaman di lahan pertanian baik dalam skala rumah tangga di pekarangan untuk para petani wanita maupun dalam skala yang lebih besar di kebun.    Kata kunci: Benih bermutu, penyuluhan, permakultur, ramah lingkungan. ABSTRACT A community service activity was carried out to increase farmers' knowledge of permaculture cultivation technology and the use of high-quality seeds to support increased crop production. The partners in this community service activity were the Sandang Farmer Group and the Bukit Soe Farmer Group. The method used was a lecture in the form of an extension program for the farmer partners. The extension activities were held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Pamboborang Village, Banggae Sub-district, Majene District, covering topics related to permaculture technology and an introduction to the characteristics, roles, and benefits of high-quality seeds in the cultivation of food crops and horticultural plants. The extension activities received a positive response from the farmer groups. They provided benefits in the form of increased knowledge about permaculture cultivation technology, including the implementation of crop cultivation in backyard gardens using environmentally friendly methods. Additionally, the partners gained knowledge about the importance of using high-quality seeds from superior varieties to optimize crop production on agricultural land, both on a household scale in backyard gardens for female farmers and on a larger scale in orchards.
