Abstract

Tobacco stems contain up to 35-50% cellulose, make them ideal for use as a renewable energy source. Tobacco varieties Na Oogst and Voor Oogst are characterized by their growing season. This study aims to obtain the effect of comparison of tobacco variants on the characteristics of bioethanol products. Each type is distinguished by its particle size (a) : 8-10 mm, (b) : 1.19 mm, (c) : 0.25 mm. A total of 100 grams of material was delignified using 1 liter of 4% HCl for 30 minutes. The material is then fermented using 10 grams of yeast for 10 days and distilled at a temperature of 78-80oC. Using Image J Software, the volume of the product is measured and then burned to examine the characteristics of the fire based on the duration of the flame, the percentage of color, and the dimensions of the flame. The volume of the product is also affected by particle size. The Na Oogst variant had the maximum volume with a particle size (c) of 120 ml and the lowest volume with a particle size (a) of 29 ml. The best fire characteristics were obtained in the Voor Oogst variant with particle size (c) and a blue flame percentage of 48 percent, whereas the Na Oogst variant with particle size (a) and a blue flame percentage of 10.2 percent had the lowest blue flame percentage.

Abstract

The ball mill machine for grinding red brick waste is a tool for crushing red brick waste into powder. Factors that influence the production process are the length of time and the number of solid balls. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the length of time and the comparison of the number of solid balls on the performance of the ball mill machine for grinding red brick waste. The method used in this study includes variations in the length of time and the ratio of the number of solid balls with a time of 10,15, and 20 minutes with a ratio of the number of solid balls 5:0, 5:5, 5:8 and 5:10. Measurement of the results of red brick powder using a wire-mesh with a size of 16; 60; and 100 mesh. The results showed that there was an effect of treatment variations in the length of time and the ratio of the number of solid balls to the production capacity of the red brick waste grinding machine. Where the highest value was obtained at a 5:0 ball ratio variation with an experimental length of 20 minutes with a mass difference of 104 grams, and the lowest result was obtained at a 5:5 ratio weighing 11 grams with an experimental time of 10 minutes.

Abstract

The propeller is an important part of the ship's propulsion installation. Differences in propeller design can affect the propulsion performance of the ship. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in dimension ratio and propeller installation pattern on the performance of the contra rotation propeller type boat. The research was carried out experimentally by using variations of three-dimensional propeller ratios including R1 (1:1); R2 (1:1/2) and R3 (1:1/4), while the pattern of placement of the shaft tilt angle includes 15oand 20o. The flow pattern is conditioned with the waveless and wavy flow. Data collection includes boat speed and visualization of fluid flow behind the propeller which is then analyzed to obtain performance characteristics for each variation used. The results showed that the dimension ratio and the pattern of contra rotation propeller installation affected the speed and thrust of the boat, where the optimum power was obtained at the variation of the ratio R2 at a shaft tilt angle of 15owith the provision of a water flow mechanism without waves resulting in a speed of 0.576923 cm/second and under conditions of wavy at 0.523256 cm/second. The greatest thrust occurs in conditions of water flow without waves at the variation of the ratio R2 with a value of 33.23 kN and in wavy conditions of 30.13 kN. Visualization of fluid flow behind the shaft has shown the performance of the contra rotation propeller in various variations given through changes in the shape and length of the resulting path .Keywords: dimension ratio, installation pattern, contra rotation propeller, boat performance

Abstract

Tube design is one aspect that affects the kinetics of ball motion and material particles on the performance of ball mill machines. Variations in the study include profile diameters of 0.75”, 1” and 1.5” while the number of profiles is 2;3; and 4 trial durations of 7 minutes with 6 crushing balls. Mass characteristics of the milled product on a 16 mesh sieve; 60; and 100. The results showed that there was an effect of variations in the diameter of the barrier profile and the number of profiles on the production capacity of the ballmill machine. From the results of the comparative analysis of the profile diameter and the number of profiles, the highest value was obtained at a diameter variation of 1.5” as many as 4 profiles in the number of balls 6 with an experimental time of 7 minutes with a production capacity of 17% mesh 16, mesh 60 15.6% and mesh 100 of 22.6%. Abstract

The nozzle is a fluid flow spraying device to increase the velocity of the outflow. Differences in the nozzle holes can affect the flow of fluid that comes out. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of variations in nozzle hole roughness with a mixture of pertalite and spiritus fuels on the characteristics of the flame. In this research, experimentally using Nozzle Cutting Tip LPG M.02 with a given treatment of threading roughness in the nozzle hole with a thread spacing of 0.5mm, 1mm, and without treatment (Standard) while the fuel used is a mixture of Pertalite and Pertalite fuels. spirit with a mixture of (75ml:75ml), (100ml:50ml), and (125ml:25ml), data collection includes the rate of fuel consumption for 3 minutes, the temperature of the fire includes (bottom, middle, top fire) with a distance of each measurement 20cm, height fire, cross-sectional area of fire and area based on the color of the fire which is then to determine the characteristics of the fire produced in each variation used. The results showed that the treatment of roughness of threading at the nozzle hole and the mixing of fuel between Pertalite and Spiritus had an effect on the characteristics of the flame, where the highest change in fire characteristics was in the variation of the 1mm threaded nozzle hole with the percentage of the fuel mixture 125ml:25ml with an air flow pressure of 0.5 LPM. . It has a fuel consumption rate of 9 ml/minute, fire temperature (below 776 oC, middle 717 oC, above 617oC), flame height is 73.21cm, and blue flame area is 31.22cm2.Keywords: Nozzle, Pertalite, Spiritus, Fire Characteristics

Abstract

Kenyamanan dan keamanan dari pengendara kendaraan dapat ditentukan dari kestabilan dan Laju kendaraan. Kestabilan dari laju kendaraan ATV salah satunya ditentukan oleh ketepatan dari pemilihan dan perancangan sistem suspensi yang dipasang pada roda depan dan roda belakang. Namun dalam perkembangannya tidak semua sistem suspensi mampu memberikan kenyamanan dan kestabilan yang optimal. Dalam hal ini analisis kenyamanan dalam berkendaran difokuskan pada kemampuan sistem suspensi dalam menstabilkan guncangan. Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan memperhitungkan kondisi jalan (jalan rata, sedikit bergelombang, dan bergelombang), beban yang diangkut (0 Kg, 40 Kg, dan 50 Kg), serta kecepatan yang sudah ditentukan (300 Rpm, 600 Rpm, dan 900 Rpm) pada kendaraan ATV menunjukkan tingkat kestabilan dan kenyamanan dari kendaraan ATV tersebut masih tergolong normal, karena tidak melebihi dari batas maksimum area kerja Shock Absober yang digunakan, yaitu sebesar 50 mm. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan defleksi pegas tertinggi sebesar 22,22 mm dengan kondisi jalan bergelombang, dan dengan beban 50 kg, serta kecepatan yang digunakan 300 rpm. Data hasil penelitian didapatkan dengan bantuan alat khusus pengukur defleksi pegas yaitu sensor Ultrasonik SRF-04. Dari hasil penelitian juga ditemukan bahwa tingkat defleksi pegas tinggi ketika berada pada kondisi jalan yang bergelombang, serta semakin tinggi juga tingkat defleksi pegas ketika beban dinaikkan. Sedangkan ketika kecepatan dinaikkan maka tingkat defleksi pegas akan menurun.Kata kunci: Kendaraan ATV, Sistem Suspensi, Kondisi Jalan, Beban, Kecepatan, Shock Absober, Sensor Ultrasonik SRF-04

Abstract

Piezoelektrik merupakan salah satu komponen elektronik yang mampu mengkonversi energi getaran menjadi energi listrik. Peristiwa munculnya getaran diakibatkan tumbukan air hujan terhadap penampang atap bangunan. ada beberapa hal yang mempengaruhi produksi energi listrik adalah sudut kemiringan dan bahan material atap. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh sudut kemiringan dan jenis material atap. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah menggunakan sudut kemiringan 10o, 20o, 30o, 40odan jenis material atap plastik gelombang dan galvalum dengan perlakuan hujan gerimis, sedang, dan deras. Hasil penelitian telah menunjukkan adanya pengaruh sudut kemiringan dan jenis material atap terhadap getaran dan tegangan listrik yang dihasilkan. Dari hasil analisa diketahui bahwa sudut kemiringan 10opada jenis material atap galvalum dengan perlakuan hujan deras menghasilkan getaran dan tegangan listrik tertinggi yaitu 16,42 mm/s dan 0,4322 volt. Sedangkan getaran dan tegangan listrik terendah diperoleh pada sudut kemiringan 40opada jenis material atap plastrik gelombang dengan perlakuan hujan gerimis yaitu 6,92 mm/s dan 0,1205 volt.Kata kunci : tegangan, kemiringan atap, curah hujan

Abstract

Abstract The characteristics of young coconut skin, which has high fiber content, are often an obstacle factor in the peeling process. Setting the rotation speed and angle of the slicing knife are important parameters that affect the cutting style of the coconut peeler knife. This study aims to determine the production capacity, electrical power requirements, and physical quality of the peeling results on the young coconut peeler machine. The experiment was carried out using variations in the sharpness of the blade angle, namely 10o, 15 o, and 25 o. Young coconut material is selected with relatively the same diameter and weight. The results showed that the knife angle variation of 15o had the highest production capacity of 499 pieces/hour. Research on economic analysis generates Rp. 1.093/hour while for electric power or the cost of electricity required per unit is Rp. 19/piece. This research can be concluded that the variation of the angle of the blade that has optimum performance is shown in the variation of the angle of 15 o. Abstract

ATV is a vehicle with engine drive using a combustion engine, ATV is designed to have maneuverability supported by a lightweight and strong frame construction, a tough engine, and an adequate suspension system. Almost similar to cars, ATVs have applied Aeckermann's steering and independent suspension. At first ATVs were only used by plantation owners for their means of transportation, but along with the development of the times ATVs can be used for many activities in the automotive world such as racing, motorbikes for nature explorers, operational vehicles for the SAR team or in Indonesia many are rented out for cross-country activities at tourist sites. This study discusses the effect of the load on the performance of the steering system on a 110 cc ATV motorbike which is planned to be modified into an electric motor as the main engine. To measure the load on the performance of the design steering system using a digital dynamometer that is linked from the steering wheel to the ATV motor frame, to determine the weight of the steering wheel against the load, it is done with variations in the steering radius of 100, 150, 250, and 350 and giving a load of 0, 50, 75 kg. Later the digital dynamometer will read automatically when the variation of the experiment is carried out. The purpose of the study was to obtain the effect of the weight of the load on the performance of the motor steering system on a 110 cc ATV motor vehicle. In this study, changes in the load received by the steering wheel are expected to affect the magnitude of the moment to be received. This parameter is one of the performance of a steering system. The increase in payload causes the steering system to become heavier. This is due to the influence of the weight of the load pressing the seat (load point) which is forwarded to the vehicle frame, this is due to the gravitational force of the load on the vehicle, so that the steering system directly receives the load pressure which is transmitted to the tires. From this steering tire gets heavy friction from the road surface, so turning the steering wheel becomes heavy or difficult. Keywords: load, steering, ATV, performance

Abstract

Research has been carried out with the aim of obtaining the effect of adding "kepok" banana fiber (Musa Pasadisianca) to the compressive strength of the brick. The study was conducted in a true experiment with variations in the ratio of the addition of banana fiber by 1.6; 2.5; and 3.3 gram. applying pressure to each specimen in variation 3; 5; and 7 N/m, the compressive strength test was carried out to obtain the mechanical properties of the product. The results showed that the percentage decrease in mass and product dimensions increased along with the pressure applied to the specimen. Depreciation of the mass of brick products is accompanied by changes in the value of the water content of the product. The compressive strength of the bricks increases with the percentage of the given fiber weight. Keywords: compressive strength, concrete brick, fiber, kepok banana (musa pasadisianca), mix ratio.
