Abstract

A matic motorcycle 110 cc is one of kinds of motorcycle that many used by the modern people, especially for the narrow streets with high level mobility. One of aspects to beconsidered in this vehicle design is a level of comfort and safety in reducing the vehicle due to environmental conditions. The purpose of the research is to get the characteristics of shock breakerin matic motorcycle 110 cc with three motorcycle brands due to road profiles. The research was conducted with road profile model (flatten, slightly wavy and wavy) at Rpm speed (1700, 3500, 4000 and 5000). Vibration was calculated based on the speed of circle engine (Rpm) using vibration’s meter. Measurements were done at 3 points in the shock beaker, rider and passenger with 60 seconds 20 seconds. The results showed that the greater the engine speed (Rpm), the vibration tends to be smaller, whereas the smaller the engine speed (Rpm), the vibrations tend to large.

Abstract

The solar collector is a device that serves to collect solar radiation and convert it into useful energy of calories. Solar water heater collectors are heat exchangers that convert solar radiation energy into thermal energy in water. This research is done by modifying the existing pipe in the solar collector, wherein the pipe is given a barrier in the form of a spiral stainless wire with the difference of size that is 0.5 cm, 1 cm, and 2 cm. This study was conducted for nine days. The result of this research proved that the distance of the spiral barrier in solar collector has an effect on efficiency, the smaller spiral barrier distance makes the collector efficiency increases. It’s caused by the flow of water fluid in the pipe collided with the spiral shaft and formed following the spiral groove so as to increase the water temperature difference higher, with the higher water temperature difference then the value of solar energy useful solar collector increases. The increased heat energy is useful to the efficiency of solar collectors, where the efficiency of collectors will increase as well. The discharge flow also affects the collector efficiency, the more greater the rate of water flow, the collector's efficiency will decrease. It’s because the residence time of water in the heating pipe is shorter and the mass flow rate is greater. Furthermore, the value of solar energy useful solar collector is getting down so that collector efficiency is getting down anyway. The maximum collector efficiency occurs at a 0.5 cm spiral barrier distance with 1 liter / minute water discharge of 24.72%, while minimum efficiency occurs at 2 cm spiral barrier distance with water discharge of 3 liters/ minute that is 11.75%.

Abstract

Abstrak Korosi merupakan fenomena alamiah yang terjadi pada material logam. Pengendalian korosi ini dilakukan untuk meminimalisir terjadinya korosi pada material logam dan baja. Teknik pengendalian korosi salah satunya pemanfaatan inhibitor. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan inhibitor organik yaitu agar-agar. Penelitian ini menggunakan larutan NaOH, NaCl, HCl, dan K3Fe(CN)6 untuk melihat lama waktu proses korosi mulai timbul dari material logam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan . Larutan HCL dan K3Fe(CN)6 menjadi larutan tercepat dalam timbulnya korosi hal ini dikarenakan karateristik larutan HCL yang termasuk asam kuat sehingga mempercepat korosi. Sedangkan, K3Fe(CN)6 atau kalium ferisianida berfungsi menunjukkan keberadaan ion Fe2+ dan merupakan sebuah pengoksidasi lemah dalam kimia organik. Selanjutnya untuk larutan NaCl timbul korosi setelah 24 jam pengamatan dan NaOH mulai timbul korosi setelah waktu 12 jam pengamatan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa agar-agar sebagai inhibitor dapat berfungsi sebagai inhibitor yang dapat mencegah korosi pada material logam.

Abstract

Padi (oryza sativa) merupakan salah satu bahan makanan berbasis biji – bijian terbesar kedua di dunia. Di Indonesia, padi telah menjadi komoditas strategis yang dapat mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan. Hal ini dikarenakan padi merupakan sumber makanan utama sebagian besar penduduk di Indonesia. Pengeringan yang dilakukan masyarakat saat ini masih secara manual, akibat dari hal tersebut mengakibatkan kadar air produk yang dihasilkan tidak seragam. Pembalikan gabah bertujuan untuk meratakan suhu gabah sehingga menimbulkan keseragaman kadar air gabah. Dengan berkembangnya teknologi pascapanen, menuntut tersedianya bahan baku yang bermutu tinggi untuk industri pengolahan hasil pertanian terutama padi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen variasi sudut screw convenyor terhadap karakterisitik pengeringan gabah rotary type. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa variasi sudut screw convenyor dan kecepatan aliran fluida panas deangan putaran screw 30 rpm berpengaruh terhadap karakteristik pengeringan gabah. Nilai kecepatan aliran fluida panas maksimal pada variasi katub blower penuh 8,47m/s dengan temperatur Tin 59,1⁰C dan Tout 33,97⁰C. Nilai debit gabah maksimal 4,59gr/s pada variasi screw 30⁰ bukaan katub hopper ¼. Nilai laju pengeringan maksimal 1,17g/s variasi screw 30⁰ bukaan katub blower ¼. Nilai perpindahan panas 123,54 Wm2K pada variasi screw 45⁰ bukaan katub blower penuh. Nilai penurunan kadar air gabah maksimal 7.0% variasi screw 30 bukaan katub blower ¼. Hal ini dikarenakan sudut screw convenyor berpengaruh terhadap pengeringan gabah fenomena gerak translasi, besar energi yang diperlukan agar perpindahan panas gabah ke udara dengan varasi sudut lebih kecil dan bukaan katub hopper ¼ bisa mengurangi kadar air dalam bahan Keywords: Gabah, Laju Aliran Massa dan Fluida Panas, Laju Pengeringan, Perpindahan Panas, Presentase Kadar Air

Abstract

Abstrak Tumpahan minyak di lingkungan kerja, seperti bengkel otomotif, merupakan masalah serius yang memerlukan penanganan yang efektif untuk mencegah dampak negatif terhadap ekosistem dan kesehatan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan teknologi bioadsorben berbahan serat alam yang efektif dalam menurunkan konsentrasi cairan limbah minyak di bengkel. Terdapat dua jenis serat alam yang digunakan, yaitu serat sabut kelapa (cocopeat), dan serat bambu pada rentang ukuran <25 µm tanpa proses aktivasi kimia. Pengujian menggunakan 5 gram serbuk untuk menurunkan cairan limbah pada volume total 225 ml. Lama waktu kontak adsorben terhadap larutan divariasi pada 1; 2; dan 5 menit dan selanjutnya dilakukan proses penyaringan menggunakan kertas Whatman-42. Analisis data adsorpsi meliputi laju dan efektifitas serap adsorben berdasarkan selisih berat masing-masing serbuk, volume cairan, dan konsentrasi minyak sebelum dan sesudah perlakukan. Hasil penelitian telah mengungkapkan kinerja adsorpsi minyak pada kedua serat alam. Serat cocopeat menunjukkan kinerja lebih optimal dibandingkan serat bambu dengan nilai efektifitas mencapai 22 % pada waktu kontak 5 menit. Studi morfologi telah mengkonfirmasi sifat adsorbansi pada struktur mikropori serat cocopeat. Kata kunci: adsorben, serat alam, tumpahan minyak, bengkel, pengembangan teknologi

Abstract

Chainsaw operator is an important profession in logging production forest which has high occupational accident risk criteria. These potential risks can be in the form of accidents that are mechanical, electrical, biological, and physical. This community service activity is in the form of socializing chainsaw machine operational SOPs and introducing occupational health and safety as a preventive effort in reducing the potential risks faced by loggers in the Perum Perhutani KPH Banyuwangi Utara. This activity received quite a good appreciation for chainsaw operators in the Perum Perhutani KPH North Banyuwangi environment. The results of the training have provided basic knowledge about maintaining chainsaw machines and increasing safety first discipline for all parties involved in chainsaw operator activities.

Abstract

Banyuwangi, a district located in eastern end of Java island has batik as cultural herritage. Batik Banyuwangi as well as other batik has own characteristic according to the origin of the region. In the other side, Banyuwangi has a ethnics origin which is Osing ethnic with own character and local wisdom. Batik Banyuwangi is a kind of batik Pesisiran as batik from coastal region. Batik Pesisiran has a specificity in terms of material and method. Batik Banyuwangi has an interesting spesificity and become distinguishing identity of batik from other area. This research is aimed to compare batik Banyuwangi characteristic with other batik Pesisiran by literature study method. The result shows that batik banyuwangi has own aesthetics (motive and meaning) comparing with other batik Pesisiran. From technical aspect (material and method), batik Banyuwangi have in common with other batik Pesisiran.

Abstract

Styrofoam food packaging waste is plastic waste that can have a negative impact on the environment. The processing of Styrofoam food packaging waste into heat-absorbing composites is rife because it is a heat insulator and porous. This study aims to determine the porosity characteristics of the thermal properties of styrofoam composites. The process of testing composite morphology using a digital camera is then analyzed using Image-J Software. Composite heating rate and thermal conductivity testing using an electric heater with a temperature of 50ºC for 20 minutes. Composites with the lowest heating rate and thermal conductivity values are produced by porous composites of 0.173 mm2 with 0.52oC/min and 13.086 W/m.K.

Abstract

Styrofoam (Extruded Polystyrene) waste can be used as a soundproofing material. This study aims to determine the effect of the particle composition of Styrofoam and epoxy resin on the performance of soundproofing composites. The composition between Styrofoam particles and epoxy resin is 20:20; 20:30; and 20:50 grams. Sound absorption test using PVC impedance tube 100 cm long, 15 cm diameter, and 5 mm thick. The variation in the placement distance of the composite from the sound source is 25; 50; and 75 cm and was measured using the sound level meter application. This type of test sound uses a single tone in the frequency range of 0-600 Hz which is recorded per 5 seconds. Composite performance analysis is reviewed based on media density, composite morphological characteristics of Image-J software, and sound absorption coefficient values. The results showed that the greater the composition had increased the density value of composite particles accompanied by a decrease in pore area in the composite media which resulted in a sound absorption coefficient of 15.61 dB at a composition of 20:50 with a distance of 25 cm from the sound source.
