Abstract

This study explores how teacher collaboration within the Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG/Teacher Working Group) enhances foundational literacy in Phase A (Grades 1–2) of Indonesian elementary schools. Responding to the persistent issue of low literacy performance among early-grade students, the research investigates collaborative strategies to improve reading and writing skills within the framework of the Kurikulum Merdeka. Employing a qualitative case study design, the study involved 8 public elementary schools in the Yudistira Cluster, Selogiri Subdistrict. Participants included school principals, teachers, and the KKG coordinator, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected over nine months via interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman framework. Findings indicate that systematic collaboration in planning, implementation, and evaluation—supported by reading corners, enriched libraries, and a 15-minute daily reading routine—led to improved student engagement and foundational literacy outcomes. Teachers employed differentiated instructional strategies, including the Alphabet, Phonics, SAS, and Global Methods, tailored to students’ initial abilities. KKG meetings served as reflective spaces to share best practices and design interventions based on student data. The study highlights the potential of teacher-led learning communities to strengthen literacy instruction in low-resource settings. It recommends sustained institutional support and further research using longitudinal methods to assess long-term student outcomes. Ethical clearance was obtained, and informed consent was secured from all participants.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the small group discussion (SGD) learning metode based on interactive video media in improving the engagement and learning outcomes of elementary school students. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and thematically analyzed documentation. The results of the study show that the SGD learning metode allows students to be more active in discussing, exchanging opinions, and building understanding of concepts collaboratively. The use of interactive video media increases the appeal of learning, facilitates the understanding of concepts, and strengthens students' motivation to actively participate. Compared to the lecture method, the SGD metode showed increased student involvement, confidence, and better understanding of the material. However, there are challenges such as the variety of student participation, the limitations of technological facilities, and the need for teacher guidance in managing discussions. Therefore, this study recommends improving technology-based learning facilities, teacher training, and learning differentiation strategies. The implications of this study highlight that the interactive video-based SGD metode can be an innovative approach in improving the quality of learning in primary schools and is worthy of further study. Abstract

Critical thinking skills are a necessity in learning. This ability is a continuous development and can be stimulated from an early age. This study aims to describe the differences in critical thinking skills of male and female students in solving mathematical problems on fractions. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research, by combining data analysis techniques such as data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data collection techniques include tests and interviews. The sample used was 85 fifth grade students in 4 Elementary Schools in the Diponegoro Cluster using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used a critical thinking ability test reviewed from 4 indicator items, namely (1) interpretation, (2) analysis, (3) evaluation, and (4) inference. The results of the study showed that female students had higher critical thinking skills than male students. The average score of female students was in the medium category, namely 73.10, while male students were in the low category, namely 59.80. The superiority of female students was also seen in the percentage of achievement of each critical thinking indicator, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The interests of each individual influence differences in learning, accuracy levels, and cognitive abilities. This research provides practical implications to be the basis for designing learning strategies that are more responsive to gender differences and considerations in compiling teaching materials that emphasize indicators of critical thinking skills (interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference)

Abstract

Assessment of writing creativity in primary education often faces challenges due to subjective judgments by teachers. The use of assessment rubrics offers an objective and structured alternative for evaluating aspects of creativity such as originality, elaboration, and uniqueness. This study aims to: 1) analyse the application of assessment rubrics in assessing writing creativity, 2) evaluate the impact of using assessment rubrics on improving students' writing skills. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with steps of identification, selection, data extraction, and synthesis of information from various relevant scientific articles. Data sources were obtained from national and international accredited journals within the last ten years. Inclusion criteria included publications that discussed assessment rubrics, objective assessment, writing creativity, and their implementation in primary education. It can be concluded that rubrics are effective tools for assessing writing creativity, but their optimal implementation requires teacher capacity building and stronger policy support to ensure sustainability.

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss an analysis of collaboration profile through strengthening the Pancasila student profile project which is currently being implemented in primary schools. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection is conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. In primary schools, the Pancasila Student Profile project is holistically connected to character development through a collaborative approach. Collaborative learning strategies in primary schools further strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile project, emphasizing positive relationships, collective responsibility, and the application of Pancasila values in daily learning practices. The interview findings underscore the significance of collaboration in fostering leadership skills aligned with Pancasila values among primary school students. Assigning leadership responsibilities and evaluating their impact on team dynamics contribute to character development, with observations focusing on changes in social interactions, classroom atmosphere, student motivation, and educational outcomes. In conclusion, the study reveals the integral role of collaboration in achieving the goals of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project.
