Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan pengaruh penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang menggunakan desain pre-test post-test control group design dengan populasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Tahun ajaran 2019/2020, yang dibagi ke dalam tiga level sekolah yaitu, sekolah tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Dari masing-masing level sekolah dipilih dua kelas secara acak dan ditetapkan sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah soal tes Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes. Data dianalis menggunakan uji-t dan anova satu arah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan PBL terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis ditinjau dari keseluruhan siswa. Pengaruh penerapan PBL terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis ditinjau dari level sekolah menunjukkan bahwa untuk level sekolah tinggi siswa yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional, sedangkan pada level sekolah sedang dan rendah tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan

Artikel ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, dan lemahnya guru dalam menyusun RPP dan Lembar Aktivitas Siswa (LAS). Artikel ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis model problem based learning pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Model yang digunakan dalam pengembangan ini adalah model pengembangan ADDIE namun dibatasi pada empat tahap, yaitu tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, dan implementasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah lembar validasi (aspek kevalidan berupa angket), lembar penilaian dua orang dosen dan satu orang guru matematika serta lembar penilaian oleh dua belas siswa (aspek kepraktisan berupa angket). Analisis data yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah analisis deskriptif melalui skor skala likert. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis model problem based learning pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar yang valid dan sangat praktis untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis (KPMM) peserta didik dan menerapkan perangkat pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum 2013. Perangkat ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning untuk meningkatkan KPMM peserta didik. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4-D dengan instrumen validitas berupa lembar validasi silabus, RPP, dan LKPD serta instrumen praktikalitas berupa angket respon peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan angket dan observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis kevaliditan dan analisis kepraktisan. Dari hasil pengolahan data diperoleh rata-rata hasil validitas silabus yaitu 96,67%; RPP yaitu 92,68%; LKPD yaitu 96,08%. Rata-rata hasil angket respon peserta didik pada uji coba terbatas adalah 94,04% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah valid dan praktis sebagai upaya meningkatkan KPMM peserta didik.

Classroom Action Research (CAR) is one form of research that is recommended to be carried out by teachers in developing capacity as a professional teacher. Through this research the teacher at the same time improves the quality of learning carried out in the classroom, so that this is used as one of the conditions in proposing teacher promotion. From interviews and observations in Minas Subdistrict, Siak Regency, there were many teachers who were constrained for promotion because of their ability to conduct class action research is low. The program done aims to assist the teacher in writing Class Action Research (CAR) plans so that they are ready to do the research. The target community of the activity is 30 junior high school teachers with varied working experience ranging from 4-15 years. The activities were carried out through workshops conducted in five stages, namely debriefing about action research, mentoring of research plan writing, research plan discussion, revision of research plans and presenting of research plan. The results of the service showed that the workshop activities had a positive impact on the ability of participants to develop CAR plans. The average achievement of participants in scale 4 is 2.53 in the good category.

Learning in the class must be well planned, one of which to create learning instruments that refer to the curriculum implementation. This research aims to produce mathematics learning instruments (Syllabus, Lesson Plan, and Student workshet) using the problem based learning model in the linear systems with two variables matter. This research is a research and development (R&D) using the 4-D model. The research instrument were an instrument of validity in the form of a validation sheet to assess the validity (syllabus, RPP and LKPD) and practical instruments in the form of a questionnaire for students' responses to LKPD. Validation data analysis results obtained an average value for the syllabus is 3.36 in the category of very valid, value for the RPP is 3.23 in the category of valid, value for the LKPD is 3.32 in the category very valid. Validation result facts state the syllabus, RPP and LKPD are feasible use. The results of practicality data analysis of LKPD in small group was 87.01% in the very practical category and the result of practicality data analysis in large group trials was 86.10% in the very practical category. Which means the mathematics learning instruments can improve students’ mathematical problem solving ability and feasible used for students in learning.

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan salah satu kewajiban Universitas Riau sebagai lembaga penyelenggara pendidikan tinggi di Provinsi Riau. Salah satunya adalah kegiatan pelatihan soal HOTS yang kami lakukan di Kabupaten Kuansing. Pelatihan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan guru matematika untuk mengembangkan penilaian dalam pembelajaran berorientasi soal HOTS. Kegiatan yang dilakukan dibagi menjadi tiga tahapan yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap pelaporan. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan selama enam minggu. Pengolaan kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan dalam lima sesi. Hasil pretest sesi pertama menunjukkan masih terdapat peserta yang memberikan jawaban salah dan alasan yang belum lengkap. Pada sesi pertanyaan, peserta masih menganggap soal HOTS tergolong soal sulit. Setelah membuat sendiri soal HOTS pada sesi diskusi peserta baru menyadari masih banyak kekurangan seperti indikator soal yang tidak menggunakan Kata Kerja Operasional (KKO) yang tepat sesuai taksonomi Bloom sehingga peserta masih harus memperbaiki soal HOTS yang telah dibuat agar menjadi benar.

This study aimed to examine comprehensively the effect of the application of REACT learning models based on the Malay cultural context of Riau on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. The research was a quasi-experimental research with Pretest-post-test control group design. The sample of this study was all students of class VII SMP 12 Pekanbaru. The results of data analysis were: (1) There was a difference of the mathematical problem-solving ability of Pekanbaru junior high school students between who learned to use REACT learning models based on the Malay cultural context of Riau and students who studied with conventional learning; (2) There was a difference of the mathematical problem-solving ability of Pekanbaru junior high school students between who learned to use REACT learning models based on the Malay cultural context of Riau and students who studied with conventional learning in terms of aspects of student ability levels, (3) There was no interaction between the learning model and the level of students’ ability to the ability to solve mathematical problems; (4) There was a difference in the mathematical problem-solving ability of Pekanbaru junior high school students who learned to use the REACT learning model based on the Malay Malay cultural context in terms of aspects of student ability levels.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning with a scientific approach in the STAD-based cooperative model lesson study of learning outcomes in mathematics. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The study population was junior high school students in Rokan Hilir Regency which were divided into three school levels; upper level, medium level and lower level. The research sample was taken randomly (clustering random sampling). Each sample contained an experimental class and a control class. The research instruments were learning devices and instruments for collecting data. The design of hypothesis testing of student learning outcomes in the form of pretest and posttest data analysis through statistical tests. The data was analyzed using integrated statistical tests. The results showe that student learning outcomes in the experimental class were better than the control class for each level. There are differences in student learning outcomes in the experimental class viewed from the school level, and learning with a scientific approach in cooperative type STAD-based lesson study is effective in terms of student learning outcomes. The conclusion is that the learning with the scientific approach in the STAD-based cooperative model is effective.

This research was motivated by the lack of learning devices that are considered to be able to train students mathematical problem solving abilities. The purpose of this study was to develop mathematical learning tools that meet the valid, practical, and effective requirements to improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of students in grade VIII SMP on flat side space. The development model used was the 4D model. Based on the results of the validation data analysis, it was concluded that the learning device developed was valid. The results of the syllabus validation were 80.56%, RPP 81.43%, LKPD 87.34%, pretest questions 78.94%, posttest questions 79.86%. This learning tool fulfills the practical requirements in large group trials with an average performance result of 93.06% and an average questionnaire response of students 91.21%. The use of effective learning tools has improved the student learning outcomes. Development of learning tools can significantly improve students mathematical problem solving abilities at a significant level of 0,000 with α = 0.05. This shows that the learning tools that was developed already meet the valid, practical, and effective requirements and can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

The low mathematics learning outcomes can be an indicator of student difficulty in learning mathematics. This study aims to analyze the influence of the application of the cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) type to the results of mathematics learning. This research used quasi-experimental research with sampling using stratified techniques and random sampling. The population was seventh grade students at SMP 17 Pekanbaru, SMP 12 Pekanbaru, dan SMP 36 Pekanbaru. The instrument of this research was a daily test on the quadrilateral and triangle material to see student learning outcomes before being given treatment and after being given treatment. Statistical analysis was performed by Normality, Homogeneity Test, Independent Sample t-test, One Path Anova test, Two Path Anova Test. From the results of the collation test results obtained that p = 0.4425 and p = 0.4005, Ho is accepted, so there is no difference between the experimental class and the control class as well as the high school there is no difference, but the students' mathematics learning outcomes are reviewed from the level there are differences in the middle and lower schools. Generally, TPS learning is good at medium and low schools because in the learning process students still want to share knowledge with other students.
