Abstract

Abstrak : Ilmu kimia termasuk dalam rumpun sains dan merupakan salah satu cabang sains yang mencakup konsep, aturan, hukum, prinsip dan proses. Proses dan pembelajaran kimia dapat menghasilkan manusia yang berkualitas dengan menunjukkan kesadaran kimia dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang dapat memunculkan sumber daya manusia yang mampu berpikir kritis, berpikir kreatif, mengambil keputusan dan memecahkan masalah. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh implementasi bahan ajar kimia umum online terintegrasi media dalam meningkatkan HOTS mahasiswa. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain faktorial 2×2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan HOTS antara kelompok mahasiswa yang diberi pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar kimia umum online terintegrasi media dibandingkan kelompok mahasiswa yang diberi pembelajaran tanpa bahan ajar kimia umum online. Terdapat perbedaan HOTS mahasiswa ditinjau dari kemampuan awalnya yaitu kelompok mahasiswa yang memiliki kemampuan awal tinggi memperoleh nilai HOTS lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa yang memiliki kemampuan awal rendah. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran dengan kemampuan awal terhadap HOTS mahasiswa. Hal ini sekaligus mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran yang diterapkan dan kemampuan awal yang dimiliki mahasiswa secara terintegrasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap HOTS mahasiswa. Kata kunci : Bahan Ajar Online, Media, Kimia Umum, Kemampuan Awal, HOTSEnglish translation. Abstract: Chemistry belongs to the science group and is one of the branches of science that includes concepts, rules, laws, principles and processes. Chemical processes and learning can produce qualified humans by demonstrating high-level chemical awareness and thinking skills that can give rise to human resources capable of critical thinking, creative thinking, decision-making and solving problems. This study aims to find out the influence of the implementation of integrated online chemical teaching materials media in improving student HOTS. This research included quasi-experimental research using 2×2 factorial design. The results showed that there was a difference in HOTS between the group of students who were given learning using integrated online general chemistry teaching materials compared to the group of students who were given learning without general chemistry teaching materials online. There is a difference in student HOTS judging from the initial ability, namely the group of students who have high initial ability to get higher HOTS scores than students who have low initial ability. There is no interaction between learning and initial ability for student HOTS. This also indicates that the application of applied learning and the initial abilities possessed by students in an integrated manner have no significant effect on student HOTS.  Keywords : Online Teaching Materials, Media, General Chemistry, Initial Ability, HOTS

Abstract

This research is a type of Research and Development research that aims to develop a guided inquiry-based module that integrates scientific literacy in thermochemical material. The subject of this research is an integrated inquiry-based module on scientific literacy. The object of this research is thermochemical material. This study refers to the Borg and Gall steps but is limited to 5 steps or stages. The steps begin with data and information collection, planning the development of guided inquiry-based modules, initial product development, initial field trials, and revision of test results. The module that has been developed is validated by 3 material expert validators and 3 media expert validators. Then, the module was tested on 2 teachers and students of class XII-IPA 4 totaling 34 students of SMA Negeri 1 Tebing Syahbandar to see the attractiveness of the module with the data collection method using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The results showed that the guided inquiry-based module integrated scientific literacy on thermochemical material was declared feasible after being validated by obtaining an average percentage of material experts of 84.92% with a feasible category and an average percentage of media experts of 84.93% with feasible category. The average percentage of teacher responses of 93.45% with a very interesting category and the average percentage of student responses of 82.52 % with a very interesting category.

Abstract

Science education has an important role in preparing quality human resources in the face of globalization. The potential of science education can be seen from the ability to communicate, critical thinking, problem solving, mastery of technology and the ability to adapt to changes and times. The process and learning of science can produce quality human beings by demonstrating scientific awareness (scientific literacy) and higher order thinking skills. This study aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation and self-confidence with chemical literacy skills and their impact on HOTS abilities. The sample of this research is 30 students of chemistry education study program. The instrument used is a learning motivation and self-confidence questionnaire as well as a chemical literacy ability test and the HOTS test that have met the valid and relatable criteria. Data analysis using path analysis test. The results showed that learning motivation and self-confidence had a significant positive relationship and influence on HOTS abilities, either directly or indirectly through chemical literacy skills. Chemical literacy ability has a significant positive relationship and effect on HOTS ability. Chemical literacy ability is a positive intervening factor between learning motivation and self-confidence on HOTS abilities.Pendidikan sains memiliki peran penting dalam mempersiapkan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas dalam menghadapi era globalisasi. Potensi pendidikan sains dapat dilihat dari kemampuan berkomunikasi, berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, penguasaan teknologi dan kemampuan beradaptasi dengan perubahan dan zaman. Proses dan pembelajaran sains dapat menghasilkan manusia yang berkualitas dengan menunjukkan kesadaran sains (literasi sains) dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi belajar dan kepercayaan diri dengan kemampuan literasi kimia serta dampaknya terhadap kemampuan HOTS. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa prodi pendidikan kimia sebanyak 30 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket motivasi belajar dan kepercayaan diir serta tes kemampuan literasi kimia dan tes HOTS yang telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan relabel. Analisis data menggunakan uji analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar dan kepercayaan diri memiliki hubunagn dan pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kemampuan HOTS baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui kemampuan literasi kimia. Kemampuan literasi kimia memiliki hubungan dan berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kemampuan HOTS. Kemampuan literasi kimia merupakan faktor intervening positif antara motivasi belajar maupun kepercayaan diri terhadap kemampuan HOTS.

Abstract

These 21st century skills are not inborn skills, but are acquired from experience. Therefore, educators must condition learning in such a way that all aspects of these 21st century skills can be trained, one of which is by using digital learning. The specific objectives of this study were to: (1) obtain a mapping or analysis of the needs of Chemistry teachers in integrating TPACK in learning, (2) measure the level of ability of Chemistry teachers in integrating TPACK in learning, (3) analyze the needs of Chemistry teachers in developing models. digital based Chemistry learning to develop students' abilities in the 21st century. This research is a quasi-experimental research by adopting the ADDIE model development research procedure. The results showed that the ability of chemistry teachers to integrate TPACK in learning based on the responses given by teachers from 12 cities/districts in North Sumatra was grouped into 7 components, namely: TK (Technological Knowledge) = 76.47%; PK (Paedagogical Knowledge) = 83.68%; CK (Content Knowledge) = 80.88%; TPK (Technological Pedagogical Knowledge) = 75.29%; PCK (Paedagogical Content Knowledge) = 78.97%; TCK (Technological Content Knowledge) = 83.14%; and TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) = 80.47 %. This means that the overall ability of chemistry teachers to integrate TPACK in learning is categorized as capable and quite capable.Keterampilan abad ke- 21 ini bukan keterampilan yang dibawa sejak lahir, melainkan diperoleh dari pengalaman. Oleh karena itu, pendidik harus mengondisikan pembelajaran sedemikian rupa agar semua aspek dari keterampilan abad ke-21 tersebut dapat dilatihkan, salah satunya dengan menggunakan pembelajaran digital. Tujuan khusus dari penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mendapatkan pemetaan atau analisis kebutuhan kemampuan guru Kimia dalam mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran, (2) mengukur tingkat kemampuan guru Kimia dalam mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran, (3) melakukan analisis kebutuhan guru Kimia dalam mengembangkaan model pembelajaran Kimia berbasil digital untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa pada abad 21. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu  dengan mengadopsi prosedur penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru kimia dalam mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran berdasarkan respon yang diberikan guru dari 12 kota/kabupaten di Sumatera Utara dikelompokkan dalam 7 komponen, yaitu: TK (Technological Knowledge) = 76,47%; PK (Paedagogical Knowledge) =  83,68%; CK (Content Knowledge) = 80,88%; TPK (Technological Paedagogical Knowledge) = 75,29%; PCK (Paedagogical Content Knowledge) = 78,97 %; TCK (Technological Content Knowledge) = 83,14%; dan TPACK (Technological Paedagogical Content Knowledge)  = 80,47 %. Hal ini berarti secara keseluruhan kemampuan guru kimia dalam mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran termasuk kategori mampu dan cukup mampu.

Abstract

Module is structured to provide teaching materials that are in accordance with curriculum set by considering needs of students in the learning process. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) research that aims to develop a discovery learning module on the reaction rate material. This research refers to the steps of Borg and Gall which are limited to five stages. First stage begins with data and information collection, discovery learning-based module development planning, initial product development, initial field trials, and revision of test results. Modules have been developed will be validated by media expert validators and material experts, each by three chemistry lecturers at the Unimed campus. Then the module was tested by looking the responses for 3 chemistry teachers and class XI students of SMA N 1 BangunPurba. The results showed that the discovery learning module on the reaction rate material was declared feasible after being validated by obtaining an average percentage of media experts 83.2%, average material experts 85.4%. And the module is declared interesting after obtaining a percentage with an average teacher response of 94.6% and student responses getting an average of 82%.Modul disusun untuk menyediakan bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan kurikulum yang ditetapkan dengan mempertimbangkan kebutuhan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian Research and Development (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis discovery learning yang mengintegrasikan literasi sains pada materi laju reaksi. Penelitian ini mengacu pada langkah - langkah Borg and Gall yang dibatasi pada lima tahap. Tahap pertama dimulai dengan pengumpulan data dan informasi, perencanaan pengembangan modul berbasis discovery learning, pengembangan produk awal, uji coba lapangan awal, dan revisi hasil tes. Modul yang telah dikembangkan akan divalidasi oleh validator ahli media dan ahli materi, masing - masing oleh tiga orang dosen kimia Universitas Negeri Medan. Kemudian modul diuji dengan melihat respon menggunakan angket terhadap modul yang dikembangkan untuk 3 orang guru kimia dan siswa kelas XI SMA N 1 Bangun Purba yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran discovery learning berbasis modul literasi sains terpadu pada materi laju reaksi dinyatakan layak setelah divalidasi dengan memperoleh persentase rata - rata ahli media 83,2 %, rata - rata ahli materi 85,4 %. Dan modul dinyatakan menarik setelah mendapatkan persentase dengan rata - rata respon guru 94,6 % dan respon siswa mendapatkan rata - rata 82 %.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) Untuk memperoleh informasi dari studi literatur dan studi lapangan pada modul berbasis discovery learning terintegrasi literasi sains pada pokok bahasan asam basa. 2) Untuk membuat rancangan modul berbasis discovery learning terintegrasi literasi sains pada pokok bahasan asam basa. 3) Untuk mengetahui kelayakan modul berbasis discovery learning terintegrasi literasi sains pada pokok bahasan asam basa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengacu pada model Research and Development (R&D). Subjek penelitian ini adalah modul berbasis discovery learning sedangkan objek penelitian yaitu materi larutan asam basa yang dimana akan divalidasi oleh 3 orang validator ahli materi, 3 orang ahli media, 2 respon guru kimia dan 10 orang siswa XII MIPA 1 (evaluasi satu lawan satu). Langkah-langkah pengembangan modul ini adalah 1) Penelitian dan Pengumpulan Informasi. 2) Perencanaan produk. 3) Pengembangan Produk Awal. 4) Uji coba lapangan. 5) Revisi modul hasil uji coba. Kesimpulannya adalah modul berbasis discovery learning terintegrasi literasi sains pada pokok bahasan larutan asam basa yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kriteria layak/menarik digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Hal ini sesuai dengan penilaian dari ahli materi mencapai pesentase rata-rata sebesar 85,33% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi dan valid/layak dan ahli media memberikan penilaian dengan persentase rata-rata sebesar 91,44% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi dan valid/layak. Tingkat kemenarikan berdasarkan respon guru adalah sebesar 92,02% dengan kriteria sangat menarik. Tingkat kemenarikan berdasarkan respon siswa SMA kelas XII IPA d mendapatkan kriteria sangat menarik dengan persentase 89,91%.

Abstract

Cancer is a disease characterized by uncontrolled cell division and the ability of these cells to invade other biological tissues, either by direct growth in adjacent tissues or by migration of cells to distant sites. The purpose of this study was to determine the class of secondary metabolites contained in the ethanol extract of cocoa leaves and their cytotoxicity by looking at the LC50 value using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. This research includes phytochemical screening of ethanol extract and the BSLT method by looking at the number of deaths of Artemia salina leach larvae (LC50). The results of phytochemical screening tests showed that the cocoa leaves contained flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, steroids, and glycosides. The cytotoxicity test with probit analysis showed an LC50 value of 269,15 µg/mL, so it was concluded that the ethanol extract of cocoa leaves was toxic and had potential as an anticancer.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of a chemistry learning module based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on Solubility and Solubility Products in Class XI SMA Negeri 15 Medan. The sample in this study consisted of one class consisting of 30 students who were taught using the Problem Based Learning model. The instrument used is a test in the form of essay questions. The results showed that 1) the learning module based on Problem Based Learning on the material solubility and solubility product of chemistry learning which was developed based on expert judgment had met the BSNP eligibility standard, the average validation results obtained an average content feasibility score (3.84), the feasibility language (3.75), feasibility of presentation (3.75) and feasibility of graphics (3.76); 2) based on the assessment of teacher and student responses that have met the BSNP eligibility standards obtained based on material (3.84), appearance (3.87) and benefits (3.69); 3) student learning outcomes after being taught using Problem Based Learning chemistry learning modules are higher than the KKM (75) with an average of 81.07.

Abstract

Practical activities are an important part of chemistry education. The chemistry practicum faced a variety of issues, including a lack of school facilities for performing the practicum and improperly managed chemical waste. As a reason, the research aims to develop and validate the feasibility of a green chemistry-based laboratory manual, as well as to assess how students and teachers respond to the final product. Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model was employed as the research methodology. The reaction rate is the subject of this study. The laboratory manual developed is very feasible to implement in chemistry learning, according to the results of the analyzed data. Media expert lecturers provide an average score of 90 percent (very feasible) and material expert lecturers provide a score of 93,9 percent (very feasible). Students and teachers responded enthusiastically to the developed laboratory manual, with an average student reaction of 85 percent (very good) and a teacher response of 93,4 percent (very good).

Abstract

Learning is required to always be creative in presenting learning materials such as using learning models that can foster student’s enthusiasm in participating  learning process, so that students are happy and interested in exploring the lesson in the hope that their learning outcomes will be better. This study aims to (1) determine the increase in student learning outcomes taught with the Problem Based Learning model based on critical thinking is higher than the Direct Instruction model (2) to find out whether there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model based on critical thinking on learning activities students on acid base material. From the results of the study, it was found that student learning outcomes in the experimental class were 77%, while those in the control class were 62%. The result of the difference in increasing learning outcomes between the two classes is 15%. From the t distribution data obtained t-table = 1.676 while based on calculations obtained price tcount = 3.73 means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, based on this analysis means there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model Learning based on critical thinking towards student learning activities on Acid-Base material.Pembelajaran dituntut untuk selalu kreatif dalam menyajikan materi pembelajaran seperti menggunakan model pembelajaran yang dapat menumbuhkan semangat siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran, sehingga siswa senang dan tertarik untuk mendalami pelajaran dengan harapan hasil belajarnya menjadi lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan model Problem Based Learning berbasis berpikir kritis lebih tinggi daripada model Direct Instruction (2) untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah berbasis terhadap berpikir kritis pada kegiatan belajar siswa pada materi asam basa. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 77%, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 62%. Hasil selisih peningkatan hasil belajar antara kedua kelas sebesar 15%. Dari data distribusi t diperoleh t-tabel = 1,676 sedangkan berdasarkan perhitungan diperoleh harga thitung = 3,73 artinya Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, berdasarkan analisis ini berarti ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbasis berpikir kritis terhadap kegiatan belajar siswa pada materi Asam-Basa.
