Abstract

Forest deforestation caused loss of habitat for endangered species. Changes in forest into oil palm plantation by PT Bumi Pratama Khatulistiwa (BPK) resulted in many conflicts with the community and make the loss of conservation value. Studies on areas that have a high conservation value necessary to maintain the stability of the clearing of forests to the environment is sustainable. Geographic information system technology (GIS) field of conservation is able to provide spatial information, determine the species habitat, analysis to find protected areas and mapping out areas of biodiversity.  The purpose of this study to determine the ability of GIS technology in providing information for the early identification of areas with high conservation value and determine which area has high conservation value (HCV) in the concession area of PT BPK and surrounding villages. Research was conducted for two months.  The research results show that GIS has enormous benefits in mapping out areas of high conservation value. Work on a large scale can be easily done and also save time, effort and cost. Location HCV 1 overlapping with the HCV 3 and 4 which are in the river, riparian and peat swamp forests. Location NKT 2 was not found, because most of the research area is an open area, there is no broad landscape. Location HCV 5 was not found, because most people in the study area does not depend anymore with natural forests.  Oil palm plantations PT BPK give people easy access to the city, to buy daily necessities. Location HCV 6 is located within the concession area of PT BPK namely padagi sites. The site was used by the Dayak community to worship ancestors and offer prayers at tuah jubata (god almighty one). Keywords: Geographic Information System (GIS), High Conservation Value (HCV), PT BPK.

Abstract

Reptile is one of the group of  herpetofauna. The purpose of this study was to determine the Reptile Species Diversity in Nature Reserves Raya Pasi Singkawang. The method Visual Encounter Survey (VES). List of species of reptiles found in kawasan Cagar Alam Kingdom Pasi Gunung 22 kinds of 6 famyli. Based on the results of measurements obtained during field range of temperatures 260C-280C, 220C-240C water temperature, air humidity between 770C-780C. Analysis of the data showed species diversity index (H ') is highest in tersterial habitat value H' = 1,059 and the lowest in aquatic habitats with the value H '= 0.7674. While the evenne==ss index (e) is highest in tersrerial habitat with a value of e = 0.828 and lowest in aquatic habitats with a value of e = 0.804. As for the similarity index value type (S) between the two habitats is obtained with a value of 0.4 which means approximately 40% in both types of Reptiles Order Squamata these habitats are the same and 60% of Reptiles Order Squamata are not the same in both habitats. The chance encounter owned by eutropis rudis types of 0.347222 individuals / hour.Keyword: Diversity, Mount Poteng, Reptile, Singkawang

Abstract

Land cover in very important in maintaining the ecological, economic, social, cultural balance as well as science and technology in aregion. Ia an effort to provide necessary data and information, that is fast, complete, valid and actual, it can be done using remote sensing technology and Geographical Information Systems using more than one source image data with different time series.the purpose of this research is to: reveal the condition and land cover changes between 2002 and 2013. The method used in this research was supervised classification with Maximum likelihood and visual, field inspections and spatial analysis with an overlay technique on both the result data interceptions of Citra Satelit Landsat 7 ETM + coverage of 2002 and 2013. The result showed that the area of Gunung Naning Protected Forest in 2002 and 2013 had four classes of land cover namely Primary Dryland Forest Mixed-shrub Agricultural dryland, Shrublands, and Settlements. The result of the analysis of changes in land cover as follows: the Primary Dryland Forest decreased in surface area of 1283.08 ha or 4.85%, Mixed-shrub Agricultural dryland had an increased area of 783.02 ha or by 22.76%, Shrubland had the addition of an 4.64 ha or by 16.78%. The land cover in 2013 was dominated by Primary Dryland Forest i.e of ± 25,150.46 ha or ± 60.88 %while the land cover in the form of settlement has the smallest area i.e, of ± 32.29 ha or ± 0.08%. Abstract

Bedawat Waterfall is a waterfall located in the area of Dange Aji Village, Air Besar District, Landak Regency. Bedawat Waterfall has natural potential in the form of a seven-level waterfall and has biodiversity and non-biological diversity in it. Lack of information regarding the potential objects of natural tourist attractions in Bedawat Waterfall causes this natural tourist attraction object to be less exposed and less well known to the wider community. Therefore it is necessary to identify the potential object of the natural tourist attraction of Bedawat Waterfall. The purpose of this study is to identify attractions that become natural tourist attractions in Bendawat Waterfall. The methods used are field observations, interviews, literature, and documentation. Determination of respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the object of natural tourist attraction in Bedawat Waterfall has biological, non-biological, adventure activities and socio-cultural potential. Keywords: Bedawat Waterfall, Dange Aji Village, IdentificationAbstrak Air terjun Bedawat merupakan air terjun yang berada di wilayah Desa Dange Aji Kecamatan Air Besar Kabupaten Landak.
