Abstract

Communication skills have a crucial role in the context of education, especially in the practice of teaching peer teaching in tertiary institutions. This study aims to analyze problems in the communication skills of prospective teacher students when practicing peer teaching in explaining skills. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive method with data analysis based on scientific journal literature studies and direct observation. The research was conducted on prospective teacher students who carried out peer teaching practices at Jakarta State University. The results of the study show that most of the prospective teacher students face problems in communication skills when practicing peer teaching. These problems include a lack of emphasis on intonation and articulation, as well as a lack of context in providing examples or illustrations of material. The suggested solution is the use of learning media that can improve the communication skills of prospective teacher students in explaining the material. This research is expected to provide insight for future researchers to develop the communication skills of prospective teacher students in the context of teaching practice.

Abstract

The Industry 4.0 era has brought significant changes to various sectors, including the hospitality industry. This study analyzes the impact of digital technology on hotel operations and marketing, focusing on the implementation of digital tools such as online reservation systems, data analytics, and digital marketing. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data obtained from literature studies and interviews with hotel managers. The results of the study show that digital technology improves operational efficiency, expands marketing reach, and strengthens customer relationships. However, the implementation of technology also faces challenges such as high costs and the need for human resource training. These findings provide important insights for hotel industry players in utilizing technology to stay competitive in the digital era.

Abstract

Abstract The community service activity was carried out through lecture methods and simulations as well as practices for processing plastic bag waste. The activity was carried out in 2 stages. The first stage is by processing plastic bag waste into useful products. The second stage is by explaining marketing techniques, determining the selling value of the product. Taking place at the RW 01 Multipurpose Building, Jatinegara Kaum and attended by 10 participants. The participation and enthusiasm of residents in the activity were very good in following the activity from start to finish and successfully displaying their work in the form of bags and wallets of various sizes made of plastic bags. The impact of this activity is that participants can improve their knowledge and skills in processing household plastic bag waste into beautiful and creative items. The result of this training activity is 100% of the participants stated that they were very happy with this training, because with this activity the participants' knowledge increased, they had the benefits of recycled plastic bag waste and could increase family income, explore creativity in creating good products and understand how to determine the selling price of a product. The conclusion of this community service activity is very useful. Keywords: Plastic Bag Waste, Recycling, Beautiful Products, Creative Products Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan para ibu warga proklim RW 01, Jatinegara Kaum dalam memanfaatkan sampah plastik kresek. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan melalui metode ceramah dan simulasi serta praktek pengolahan sampah kantong kresek. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan 2 tahapan. Tahapan pertama adalah dengan cara mengolah sampah plastik kresek menjadi produk yang bermanfaat. Tahapan kedua adalah dengan memaparkan teknik marketing, menentukan nilai jual produk. Bertempat di Gedung Serba Guna RW 01, Jatinegara Kaum dan diikuti oleh 10 peserta. Partisipasi dan antusiasme warga dalam kegiatan sangat baik dalam mengikuti kegiatan dari awal hingga akhir dan berhasil menampilkan karyanya berupa tas dan dompet dari berbagai ukuran yang terbuat dari plastik kresek. Dampak dari kegiatan ini adalah peserta dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mengolah sampah kantong kresek rumah tangga menjadi barang cantik dan kreatif. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah 100% dari peserta menyatakan sangat senang dengan pelatihan ini, karena dengan kegiatan ini pengetahuan peserta bertambah, memiliki kebermanfaatan dari sampah plastik kresek yang didaur ulang serta dapat menambah income keluarga, menggali kreativitas dalam menciptakan produk yang bagus dan menjadi paham menentukan harga jual dari suatu produk. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini sangat bermanfaat. Kata kunci : Sampah Plastik Kresek, daur ulang, produk cantik dan kreatif

Abstract

Personality Development Training aims to improve the interpersonal and professional competence of lecturers and educational staff in the Midwifery Department of the Ministry of Health Polytechnic at the Siliwangi Tourism Academy. In the world of education, a good personality is an important factor in creating a conducive learning environment. This training covers various aspects of self-development, such as communication, emotional management, and professional ethics. This community service method uses a participatory approach with a combination of lectures, group discussions and practical simulations. The evaluation results show that the training had a positive impact on increasing awareness of the importance of personality development in supporting academic and administrative tasks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi microlearning sebagai strategi pembelajaran inovatif dalam pengembangan bahan ajar berdasarkan studi yang dipublikasikan antara tahun 2010-2024. Microlearning menampilkan informasi dalam fragmen kecil dan telah digunakan secara luas di berbagai bidang untuk meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman peserta didik. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan Systematic Literature Review untuk mengetahui potensi microlearning sebagai bahan utama pembelajaran bahan ajar. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa berbagai penelitian menunjukkan efektivitas microlearning dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan perilaku di bidang perawatan kesehatan, pendidikan bahasa, dan bisnis. Keberhasilan microlearning dikaitkan dengan karakteristiknya yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik dewasa, memanfaatkan platform digital, serta mendorong personalisasi dan pembelajaran mandiri. Meski demikian, efektivitas microlearning perlu dievaluasi sesuai konteks penerapannya. Tantangan dalam merancang microlearning meliputi perlunya fokus pada satu kompetensi utama, aktivasi pengetahuan awal, asesmen yang memberikan umpan balik, pengorganisasian konten, serta penyajian konten secara ringkas dan padat. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk menilai efektivitas microlearning dalam konteks beragam dan penerapannya untuk kompetensi kompleks. Institusi pendidikan perlu mempertimbangkan penerapan microlearning dalam pengembangan bahan ajar dengan memperhatikan prinsip-prinsip desain yang dipaparkan. Dengan pertimbangan matang, microlearning berpotensi menjadi solusi pembelajaran yang efektif dan mudah diakses di era digital.

Abstract

Service quality is very important in an academic transaction process, especially for the University of Struggle Tasikmalaya which has a D-3 Hospitality Study Program where students will enter the world of the hospitality industry which has its own service characteristics and is different from one another. In preparing skilled workers who are in accordance with existing hotel industry standards, educators as service providers are the parties who deliver services that are assessed based on service quality elements: attendance, job knowledge, dependability, personality,discipline, adaptability, quality, grooming, organizing, leadership. The overall research results show that the 10 service qualities delivered by the teaching staff are in accordance with the expectations and needs of the student learners, with reference to the applicable hotel industry standards.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the marketing strategies implemented in an effort to increase and maintain the number of guests visiting hotels in Tasikmalaya. The method used in this research is descriptive method with 80 guests from 10 (ten) hotels in Tasikmalaya as respondents. Based on the results of the analysis test, it was found that the value of the marketing strategy had a significant influence on the number of guests at the Tasikmalaya Hotel

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines research trends in problem-based learning (PBL) within blended learning contexts by analyzing 64 peer-reviewed articles from Scopus database published between2020-2024. Using PRISMA methodology, this study identifies key patterns including the dominance of medical education contexts (71.9%), the significant impact of COVID-19 pandemic on pedagogical innovations, and the prevalence of experimental research designs (34.4%). Findings reveal that blended learning emerged as the most researched approach (61%), followed by online/distance learning (23%) and flipped classroom models (11%). The analysis indicates increasing publication trends in 2022 and 2024, with Education Sciences and BMC Medical Education as leading publication venues. This review highlights research gaps in engineering and technology education contexts, limited exploration of long-term learning outcomes, and insufficient mixed-methods studies. These findings provide valuable insights for educators, researchers, and policymakers in designing effective learning strategies that integrate problem-based and blended learning approaches in diverse educational settings.

Abstract

The research aims to develop an E-Module for the subject of building maintenance management and the maintenance of architectural and structural components within the Building Engineering Education Major, Faculty of Engineering, Jakarta State University. The method used was Research and Development (R&D), adopting the Four-D (4D) development model, which consists of four stages define, design, development, and dissemination. The validation results from building maintenance experts yielded an average score of 77,33 classified as ‘Feasible’, with a validity score of 0,72 which categorized as 'Valid'. The media expert’s validation yielded an average score of 87,50 classified as 'Highly Feasible', with a validity score of 0,97 which categorized as 'Highly Valid'. The language expert’s validation yielded an average score of 88,00 also classified as 'Highly Feasible', with a validity score of 0,97 which categorized as 'Highly Valid'. In addition, the average pre-test score was 68 points, and the post-test score was 82 points. The N-Gain test results showed a score of 0,43 classified as "Effective" category. Based on the expert validation and the N-Gain test results, it can be concluded that this Building Maintenance E-Module is highly feasible and effective for use in building maintenance courses.
