Abstract

With the development of technology, business activities have shifted from face-to-face to online (e-commerce). These transactions eliminate needs for consumers to meet directly with the producer or seller and do not require them to see the product in person. E-commerce transactions are conducted through social media or marketplaces. Transactions via social media include Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others. Marketplace transactions can be conducted through Shopee, Tokopedia, Lazada, and others. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The purposively selected sample consisted of online sellers in the area around Tegal Gubug Market, Arjawinangun District, Cirebon Regency. Tegal Gubug Market is the largest clothing market in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the business practices carried out by e-commerce sellers in the area around Tegalgubug Market, Arjawinangun District, Cirebon Regency have not fully implemented Islamic business ethics because there are still those who do things that are not in accordance with sharia, including being dishonest (shiddiq) in displaying photos of products that are actually owned by other people, not being trustworthy (amanah) in sending products according to orders, being smart (fathonah) and being able to follow campaign programs and make independent promotions and not all sellers convey (tabligh) product descriptions as they are.

Abstract

Mangroves provide multiple ecological functions such as connectors and balancers of land and sea ecosystems. The presence of mangroves in coastal areas is very important for reducing the impact of tsunamis and tidal flooding. The role of local communities in the form of community-based tourism models, in conserving mangrove forests has not been extensively studied. This study aims to fill the gap in evaluating local communities’ involvement, particularly under the tourism-based communities’ model, in conserving mangroves and, at the same time, gaining economic benefits. This study was conducted in the mangrove villages of “Patikang,” Citeureup Village, and Pandeglang Regency. This study applied mixed methods that combine both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Primary data were obtained directly from the local community through using questionnaires, interviews, and field observations. Secondary data collection was carried out through a literature review of mangrove conservation and community development in coastal areas. Our study found that local community-based tourism namely “Putri Gundul” played a very important role in increasing community awareness to conserve mangrove forests. The community has gained more knowledge on the biology of mangrove species and the ecology of mangroves for mangrove restoration. Furthermore, the involvement of local communities in mangrove conservation and restoration can increase the economy of communities by producing various products from mangroves.

Abstract

The challenge of cultivating coffee plants is that the process is still traditional, and the types of coffee that are superior are still limited. Therefore, data collection is needed to determine the potential of coffee plants in developing cultivation. The purpose of this research was to study the diversity and potential of coffee types and the ecological conditions of Gunung Karang coffee valley. The research was conducted from March to June 2024 at Lembur Kopi Citaman Lawang Taji, Sanim Village, Juhut Village, Karang Tanjung District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, and the data obtained from observations and interviews were analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The results showed that six types of coffee can be cultivated, namely Arabica, Robusta, Liberica, Excelsa, Purpurascen, and Robusta. Menhir coffee had unique flavors and aromas with distinctive flavors of brown sugar, nuts, chocolate, spices, vanilla, and acid. Morphological analysis of the six types of coffee showed the same characteristics in the branching system. The ecological characteristics of coffee plants included altitude criteria of 550-600 masl, pH between 5-8, air temperature 28-29 °C, air humidity between 70%-76%, and humus-dominant soil conditions. These land criteria were categorized as sufficient to meet coffee growth. Keywords: coffee farm; coffee ecology; coffee menhir; morphology of coffee

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of facilities, policies, leadership support, and work-life balance on the performance of female workers at the Pertamina IHC Clinic. This study uses qualitative and quantitative methods (Mix Method) using data analysis using SEM_PLS version 3.0. Data were collected through a survey involving 384 female workers at the Pertamina IHC Clinic, the sampling technique using simple random sampling. The results of the study indicate that facilities and policies have positive and significant implications for the performance of female workers. However, leadership support does not have a significant direct impact. Through the mediation of work-life balance, policies and leadership support are proven to significantly improve performance, while facilities do not show a significant effect. Facilities such as lactation rooms, break rooms, and access to training are considered supportive, as are special leave policies, gender equality, and protection from harassment. Leadership support that includes work flexibility, career development, and appreciation is also an important factor. The main challenges faced include the limited implementation of facilities and policies evenly, as well as the low representation of women in leadership. Therefore, an evaluation of facilities, gender-based leadership training, and a fair policy monitoring system are needed to improve the performance of female workers sustainably.

Abstract

Since overconfidence bias negatively impacts the student learning process, it is crucial to understand how to measure it effectively. While the global metacognitive judgment is commonly used to assess overconfidence, it lacks specificity, making it difficult to identify the particular concepts in which students exhibit overconfidence. This study proposes the use of local metacognitive judgment to measure overconfidence and examines the validity inferences of this instrument through Rasch analysis. Additionally, the study aims to compare overconfidence across gender, country, and grade level. Two studies in science learning were conducted: the first involved 532 Indonesian and Korean high school students (both male and female), who answered 24 items on Genetics and Evolution with a confidence scale; the second study included 376 undergraduate students from various semesters (grade levels) who completed 25 Genetics items with a confidence scale. Rasch analysis was used to assess the validity and reliability of the local metacognitive judgment. The results indicated that the instrument is psychometrically valid and highly reliable. Furthermore, the findings revealed that Indonesian students exhibited significantly higher overconfidence than Korean students, males were more overconfident than females in both countries, and undergraduate students showed peak overconfidence when first learning genetics concepts at university. These findings are consistent with previous research using global metacognitive judgment. Therefore, the local metacognitive judgment is a valid tool that offers practical advantages over global approaches, as it provides item-specific overconfidence data, enabling educators to identify and address overconfidence in specific concepts rather than relying on overall scores.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Cloteh (Congklak made from coconut shells and tea seeds) and storytelling-based counting on early childhood numeracy skills, while also exploring their interaction based on gender. A quantitative approach with a 2×2 factorial experimental design was employed, involving 35 children aged 5–6 years at TK Plus Al-Adalah, Purwakarta Regency. The research instrument was a numeracy test covering indicators of number recognition, object counting, number-to-quantity matching, and pattern making. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA with additional simple effect tests. The results revealed that the Cloteh game was more effective than storytelling-based counting in improving numeracy skills, while the combination of both strategies produced the highest scores. Gender had no significant effect, although an interaction between learning media and gender was identified. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a culture-based numeracy learning model by integrating the traditional Cloteh game with storytelling-based counting, emphasizing the importance of contextual, engaging, and developmentally appropriate pedagogical strategies for early childhood numeracy.

Abstract

Abstract

Land cover plays an essential role in maintaining hydrological balance and soil conservation in tropical forest ecosystems. The decline in vegetation cover can lead to reduced infiltration, increased surface runoff, and decreased soil water-holding capacity. This literature review aims to analyze the relationship between land cover, water retention, and soil conservation in tropical forests based on recent scientific findings. The analysis includes studies on soil biophysical properties, rainfall, vegetation types, and forest management strategies. The results indicate that dense and multi-layered vegetation improves soil porosity, infiltration, and water retention while reducing erosion. In contrast, the degradation of vegetation cover decreases soil physical quality and hydrological stability. Effective conservation efforts include the implementation of agroforestry systems, integrated watershed management, and sustainable forest protection policies.
