Abstract

Differentiated learning is an attempt to adapt the learning process in the classroom to meet the individual learning needs of each student. This research aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model through a differentiated approach to temperature & heat topics on student learning outcomes. This research is experimental research, with the research design being One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. The population of this study was class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Tilongkabila. The sample consists of 3 classes, namely experimental class, replication 1, and replication 2 with the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The instruments used in this research are learning style tests, teaching modules, student worksheets, teaching topics, and written tests (pre-test and post-test) to see student learning outcomes. Then, the data is analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality tests, hypothesis tests, and n-gain analysis. The average score for class VII students is greater than the criteria for achieving learning goals, shown by the average score of the experimental class of 83.92, replication 1 at 83.67, and replication 2 at 82.92, compared to the criteria for achieving learning goals of 70. Based on the hypothesis testing criteria for the class, experimental t-count 14.009 is more significant than t-table 2.035, replication 1 t-count 11.417 is more excellent than t-table 2.035, and replication 2 t-count 12.084 is more remarkable than t-table 2.035, so it can be said t-count is more prominent than t-table. Thus, the PBL model, through a differentiated approach, affects student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is an educational innovation that improves students' thinking ability through organized team or group work. This research aims to determine the influence of the PBL model on students' critical thinking ability in wave topics. The research method used was quantitative experimental or descriptive methods. This research was carried out by collecting numerical data, which was then processed and analyzed to extract the scientific information behind it. There are two variables: X is the independent variable, and Y is the dependent variable. The sample source of the study sample was 27 students at SMP Negeri 1 Bulawa, in class VIII. The results of this research show that the calculated value of the t-test shows that the value of t-count = 57.062 at a significance level of 0.05 and t-table = 2.055. So this result shows t-count ≥ t-table. Therefore, the researcher concluded that the PBL model influenced students' critical thinking skills in wave topics.

Abstract

Learning media is a teaching aid that educators can use to convey lesson material, increase student creativity, and increase student attention during the learning process. This research examines the effect of implementing interactive learning media based on virtual laboratory on student learning outcomes in force topic at SMP Negeri 1 Gorontalo. This research uses an experimental method, and the research design used is a group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this research were 30 students in each class divided into three classes: experimental class, replication 1, and replication 2. The data analysis techniques used are normality, hypothesis, and n-gain tests. The results of the hypothesis testing criteria were T-count ≥ T-table with a level of ∝ = 0.05 for the experimental class, replication 1, and replication 2; therefore, Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted. This is also supported by the acquisition of the course average normalized gain for all sample classes, both experimental and replication classes, which fall into the high and medium categories in the experimental class (0.71), replication 1 (0.70), and replication 2 (0.66). Data analysis shows that the average post-test score for the experimental and replication classes is higher than the pre-test. This indicates that virtual laboratory media improves student learning outcomes in force topics. This research concludes that using interactive learning media based on virtual laboratories can be an effective alternative for improving the quality of science learning in schools.

Abstract

This research aims to test the effect of e-books through a differentiated approach assisted by page flip professional 3-dimensions on student learning outcomes on simple machine topics. The research uses a pre-test and post-test control group design involving two classes as samples. Using e-books through a differentiated approach can reduce the problem of unequal distribution of printed books and make it possible to adapt them to each student's learning style because each student has their learning style. This is shown through the hypothesis criteria where the significance value of 0.030 is smaller than the significance level of 0.05, so H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted. This is also supported by acquiring an N-gain Score value of 0.81 in the experimental class, which meets the high category, and in the control class, 0.51, which meets the medium category. For the N-gain percent interpretation category, the results obtained in the experimental class were 81 in the effective interpretation category, while for the control class, the results were 51 in the less effective interpretation category. This indicates that e-books, through a differentiated approach assisted by page flip professional 3-dimensions, can improve student learning outcomes, especially in simple machine topics. This research concludes that e-books, through a differentiated approach assisted by page flip professional 3-dimensions, can be an effective alternative for improving the quality of science learning in schools.

Abstract

A virtual laboratory is an interactive science media assisted by computer applications in the form of science experiments. This research aims to determine the effect of using virtual laboratories on dynamic electricity topic on student learning outcomes. This type of research is quasi-experimental design research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all Class IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Wonosari in the current odd semester. The research results show that there is an influence on student learning outcomes. This is based on the hypothesis testing criteria, where t-count 2.09 is greater than t-table 2.02, and it can be concluded that hypothesis testing is t-count greater than t-table. The N-Gain test produced in the experimental class showed an N-Gain value of 1.18, which was included in the high criteria, while in the control class, the N-Gain value was 0.42, which was included in the medium criteria. The N-Gain value in the experimental class is included in the high criteria because the learning process uses a virtual laboratory in the experimental class. Virtual laboratories on dynamic electricity topic have an effect on student learning outcomes.
