Abstract

One of the psychological elements that is crucial to life’s journey is mental wellness. People that are mentally sick will suffer from bad effects in their lives. The purpose of this research is to certain how COVID-19 gymnastics implementation affects adult mental health. In this investigation, the experimental approach was applied by treating adults with COVID-19 gymnastics. There were 150 adults as subjects. The GHQ-12 is used as a tool to assess mental health. Data analysis was done using the t-test. The implementation of COVID-19 gymnastics has a major impact on adults’ mental health. Furthermore, this study revealed a rise in mental health scores. From this study, we can concluded that adult mental health can benefit from COVID-19 gymnastics. For a specific amount of time, this activity is implemented really successfully in order to have a greater long-term effect.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of complex training and contrast training in improving lower-limb muscle strength among male basketball athletes. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a two-group pretest–posttest design involving eight male athletes from the basketball club of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, selected through total sampling. Participants were assigned to two groups using ordinal pairing. Data were analyzed using SPSS, including descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Levene’s test, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and the Mann–Whitney U test. The results showed a significance value of Sig. (0.021) < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in the effects of complex training and contrast training on maximum power. The Mann–Whitney U test further revealed a significant difference in performance changes between the two training methods. In conclusion, contrast training produced greater improvements in lower-limb muscle strength compared with complex training. Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of a short Fast Interval Training (FIT) program during the competition phase on the stamina of 800 meter runners at Satset Athletic Club. A quasi-experimental design with one group was used, involving 15 semiprofessional athletes who had been training regularly for at least six months and were preparing for a regional event. The FIT program lasted three weeks with four sessions each week. Stamina was measured through an 800-meter run before and after the intervention. A paired-sample t-test showed a significant improvement (t = 9.987; p < 0.001). On average, athletes improved their times by 3–4 seconds, representing about a 2.5% increase in performance. These findings suggest that FIT is a practical short-term strategy to prepare athletes during the competition phase, although careful management of recovery is essential.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of flexibility training using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on increasing the flexibility and accuracy of karate athletes' mawashi kicks. To determine the effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation flexibility training on increasing the flexibility and accuracy of karate athletes' mawashi kicks, related to the data obtained by the author, it was measured using a side split instrument and point target with a total of 10 athletes to measure the level of flexibility and kick points obtained by athletes. The methods used in this study are to test statistical data, normality tests, and Paired Sampled T-Test. After testing the Pre-Test and Post-Test values, the results of the study showed that the sig value for Side Split was at 0.000 while the sig value for Point Target was at 0.027. From both sig results, it was concluded that the sig value. both were below 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of flexibility training using PNF on increasing the flexibility and accuracy of mawashi kicks.

Abstract

Abstract

Futsal requires speed endurance to maintain speed during repeated sprints, accelerations, and changes of direction at high intensity. Long Interval Training (LIT) based on high Maximum Aerobic Speed (MAS) is often used to develop aerobic and anaerobic capacity, but its effectiveness for speed endurance still needs further study. This study aims to retrospectively analyze the application of the Long Interval Training method with high MAS on the speed endurance capacity of female futsal athletes. The study used a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method and a retrospective design. The subjects consisted of 4 female futsal athletes from the UPI Student Club, selected purposively based on the completeness of their pretest and posttest data for the 150-meter sprint and their MAS rankings within the entire population. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics and the Shapiro-Wilk normality test. The average 150-meter sprint time increased from 24.30 seconds in the pretest to 26.38 seconds in the posttest, with an average difference of 2.08 seconds (8.44%). All athletes experienced a slowdown in their completion times, with three athletes experiencing a decline in performance category from moderate/poor to very poor. The implementation of Long Interval Training with high MAS has not yet shown an optimal improvement in speed endurance capacity among female futsal athletes. Future training programs need to combine LIT with specific speed endurance training, such as repeated sprints.
