Abstract

Seaweed cultivation area is habitat and development if the ecological conditions of the waters support the growth and survival of seaweed. Chlorophyll is one of the parameters that greatly determines primary productivity in the sea. The study aims to find out the patterns of chlorophyll-a spread and water quality in seaweed cultivation areas. The methods used in the investigation were the survey method for water sampling in the field and the spectrophotometry method for laboratory analysis. The results of the survey showed that the chlorophyll value in the seaweed cultivation area in October 2023 averaged 1.43 mg/m3, while in December 2023 the average chlorophyll-A level was 0.90 mg/m3. The chlorophyll-a content in the waters of the island of Semau in October 2023 ranged between 0.29 and 4.56 mg/m3, while in December 2023 it ranged between 0.09 and 2.82 mg/m3. Water quality parameters that affect chlorophyll distribution include nitrates, temperature, salinity, brightness, depth, dissolved oxygen, and pH.  Kawasan budidaya rumput laut sebagai tempat hidup dan berkembang jika kondisi ekologis perairan ikut mendukung pertumbuhan dan keberlangsungan rumput laut. Klorofil merupakan bagian dari parameter yang sangat menentukan produktivitas primer di laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola sebaran kloroil-a dan kualitas air di kawasan budidaya rumput laut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitan ini metode survey untuk pengambilan sampel air di lapangan dan metode Spektrofotometri untuk analisis laboratorium. Hasil peneletian menunjukkan bahwa nilai klorofil pada kawasan budidaya rumput laut pada bulan Oktober 2023 nilai rata-rata sebesar 1,43 mg/m3 sedangkan pada bulan Desember 2023 rata-rata klorofil-a adalah 0,90 mg/m3.  Kandungan klorofil-a di perairan pulau Semau pada bulan Oktober 2023 berkirsar antara 0,29 – 4,56 mg/m3 sedangkan pada bulan Desember 2023 berkisar antara 0,09 – 2,82 mg/m3. Parameter kualitas air yang mempengaruhi distribusi klorofil-a seperti nitrat, suhu, salinitas, kecerahan, kedalaman, oksigen terlarut dan pH.

Abstract

Seaweed farming needs essential nutrients for growth. Nitrate and phosphate are essential nutrients for the growth of seaweed algae and phytoplankton produce chlorophyll-a. Chlorophyll-a content is needed in the photosynthesis process and triggers seaweed metabolism to absorb more nutrients. This study describes the relationship between nitrate, phosphate, chlorophyll-a for west and east monsoon waters with other water quality parameters in Tarakan Island. Insitu and exsitu measurements of water quality samples at 14 stations were determined by stratified random sampling in March 2024 for the west monsoon and June 2024 for the east monsoon. The distribution of chlorophyll-a was obtained from observations of the JAXA GCOM-C OCEAN CHLA V3 satellite image and the ocean contour model from BIG. There are significant differences in the distribution of chlorophyll-a, phosphate, and nitrate in the west and east monsoons. Chlorophyll-a distribution in the west monsoon of 0.60-1.10 mg/m3 tends to be higher than that in the east monsoon of 0.50-0.85 mg/m3 divergent pattern and correlates with nitrate, phosphate, water brightness, turbidity, sea surface temperature, current and pH. Water quality in the east and west monsoons supports seaweed farming.  Budidaya rumput laut membutuhkan nutrien penting untuk pertumbuhannya. Nitrat dan fosfat merupakan nutrien penting untuk pertumbuhan algae rumput laut dan fitoplankton penghasil klorofil-a perairan. Kandungan klorofil-a dibutuhkan pada proses fotosintesis dan memicu metabolisme rumput laut menyerap lebih banyak nutrien. Penelitian ini menjelaskan keterkaitan nitrat, fosfat, klorofila-a perairan musim angin barat dan timur bersama parameter kualitas perairan lainnya di Pulau Tarakan. Pengukuran insitu dan exsitu pada 14 stasiun ditetapkan secara stratified random sampling bulan Maret 2024 mewakili musim angin barat dan Juni 2024 musim timur. Distribusi klorofil-a diperoleh dari pemantauan citra satelit JAXA GCOM-C OCEAN CHLA V3 dan pemodelan kontur laut dari BIG. Terdapat perbedaan signifikan distribusi klorofil-a, fosfat dan nitrat musim angin barat dan timur. Distribusi klorofil-a perairan musim barat 0,60-1,10 mg/m3 cenderung tinggi dibandingkan musim timur 0,50-0,85 mg/m3 berpola divergen dan berkorelasi dengan kadar nitrat, fosfat, kecerahan perairan, kekeruhan, suhu permukaan laut, arus dan pH. Kualitas perairan musim angin timur dan barat mendukung budidaya rumput laut.

Abstract

Ekosistem mangrove merupakan salah satu ekosistem penting di wilayah pesisir dengan manfaat ekologi dan ekonominya yang beragam. Fungsi hutan mangrove berperan dalam mendukung sektor perikanan, yang merupakan sumber penghidupan bagi masyarakat pesisir salah satunya di Desa Babalan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi nelayan tentang fungsi hutan mangrove serta menghitung nilai ekonomi pemanfaatan sumber daya perikanan di ekosistem hutan mangrove Desa Babalan. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan April – Mei 2024. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pendekatan Effect on Production (EOP), yang mengukur kontribusi ekosistem mangrove terhadap produktivitas perikanan tangkap dan tambak. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan 30 orang nelayan tangkap dan 30 orang petani tambak. Persepsi nelayan tangkap lebih tinggi dibandingkan petani tambak terkait fungsi ekologis mangrove kecuali untuk spawning ground. Persepsi kedua kelompok tersebut masih rendah untuk fungsi mangrove sebagai penyerap bahan pencemar. Nilai ekonomi ekosistem hutan mangrove dari kegiatan perikanan tangkap sebesar Rp252.473.749 per tahun dan dari kegiatan tambak sebesar Rp27.771.070 per tahun, sehingga nilai ekonomi total ekosistem mangrove di Desa Babalan mencapai Rp280.244.819 per tahun.

Abstract

Nusa Penida's coastal communities rely on its rich marine resources for livelihoods, primarily through fishing, seaweed cultivation, and tourism. This study analyzes land use changes in Jungut Batu Village, Nusa Lembongan, using secondary data and Google Earth Pro, revealing a significant shift from seaweed cultivation to tourism development between 2009 and 2020, with a temporary reversion to seaweed cultivation during the pandemic. This transformation highlights evolving economic dynamics and environmental impacts. While the shift towards ecotourism represents a potential evolution in sustainable land use, the adverse effects of mass tourism necessitate a transition to eco-friendly and sustainable practices. Effective collaboration among communities, tourism stakeholders, and government, as well as further research, is crucial to developing a genuinely sustainable ecotourism model for Nusa Penida with contribution of society has accpet for last moment.

Abstract

Cengklik Reservoir is one of the water and waterfront tourism destinations in the Boyolali Regency which has an area of 327,44 ha. The condition of Cengklik Reservoir is currently undergoing revitalization and tourism development. The purpose of this study was to analyse the suitability of reservoir waters as a tourist attraction based on the Tourism Suitability Index, to determine the perceptions of tourists potential in the reservoir, and community perceptions of tourism development in the reservoir. The research was conducted in March - April 2023. The research methods used a case study with quantitative analysis to calculate the value of the Tourism Suitability Index and qualitative analysis to determine the perception of tourism potential from 30 tourist respondents and tourism development from 30 community respondents. Results of the TSI calculation of the Cengklik Reservoir for boat tours amounted to 2.40 (suitable) and fishing amounted to 3.00 (very suitable). The tourists perception of the Cengklik Reservoir as well as the communitys perception of tourism development were rated positively. These results indicate that the Cengklik Reservoir is suitable for tourism which is supported by the communitys perception of the tourist developmentKeywords: Cengklik Reservoir; Tourism Development; Tourism Potential; Tourism Suitability Index.
