Abstract

Abstract

This research on traditional arts related to religion or belief aims to uncover the life cycle flow of the Makassarese people through Rate's singing. The specific objectives of this research are to answer the following questions: (1) What is the function of Rate' singing? (2) Why is Rate's singing currently rarely performed in Makassar ethnic communities? (3) How can the regeneration of Rate's singing be achieved? This ethnographic qualitative research employs various data collection methods, including observation, interviews, and document studies. The research was conducted in Makassar and Gowa cities. The results indicate the following: (1) The function of Rate' in the Makassarese community is primarily as a medium for prayer, an invitation for good fortune, a rejection of bad luck, a confirmation of customary procedures, and a means of ethical education for the next generation. Rate' singing in sacred Makassarese activities aims to bring people closer to God; (2) The period of turmoil in Sulawesi, starting with the arrival of Japan and followed by the struggle for Indonesian independence, influenced the continuity of traditional art in South Sulawesi, particularly Makassarese art. After the security in South Sulawesi gradually recovered, the community began to focus on improving their welfare, viewing cultural arts, especially traditional ceremonies, as wasteful and non-materially beneficial; (3) Rate' singing faced near extinction as the nobility, or karaeng descendants, began to lose their traditional culture. The remaining Pa'Rate' are few and elderly, with no successors to inherit their knowledge. As a form of literature, the traditional way of conveying Rate' is known only to older generations. The transmission of ma'Rate's skills is conducted within the Parate family itself.

Abstract

The establishment of the Public Service Mall in XYZ Regency is designed to facilitate business transactions and is anticipated to enhance the Ease of Doing Business Index (EoDB) in XYZ Regency. The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has delegated authority to the XYZ Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office or it called DPMPTSP to organize licensing in the XYZ region through the Public Service Mall. The government utilizes an integrated online system, namely Online Single Submission (OSS), in its implementation, as mandated by Government Regulation Number 24 of 2018 concerning Electronically Integrated Business Licensing Services. This is done by the government to accelerate and facilitate business actors in obtaining business licenses. XYZ Regency has implemented the OSS system since July 2018. In this study, the authors are interested in discussing how communication management and communication processes related to services carried out by the XYZ Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) are conducted. The methodology employed in this study is descriptive qualitative. In accordance with the POAC theory, the implementation of the OSS system at the XYZ Regency One-Stop Integrated Investment and Service Office has not achieved the desired outcomes. There remain numerous deficiencies in the system, starting with the readiness of human resources (HR) to provide optimal services and the strategy of the XYZ Regency local government to disseminate information on the OSS system to the wider community. In accordance with the explanation provided by G. R. Terry, the foundation of management activities is organization. This implies that organization is an activity aimed at achieving goals in an effective and efficient manner. Therefore, the objective of the OSS system should be genuinely perceived by the community, rather than becoming an impediment to business activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using augmented reality (AR) based learning media in enhancing the learning motivation of elementary school students. By employing a multiple linear regression approach on simulated data, this research evaluates the influence of several key factors, namely AR visualization quality, teacher support, ease of use, and supporting infrastructure. The analysis results show that AR visualization quality, teacher support, and ease of use significantly affect the improvement of learning motivation. The developed model has a coefficient of determination (R² ? 0.77), indicating that 77% of the variation in learning motivation can be explained by the independent variables, with a relatively small prediction error (RMSE ? 0.53). The F-test also confirmed that the model is overall significant. These findings indicate that the integration of AR in learning not only increases visual appeal but also strengthens the role of teachers and enhances students’ ease of interaction with the material. Nevertheless, this study is still based on simulated data, so further research with broader and more realistic empirical data is required to validate the results.
