Abstract

Sappanwood (Caesalpinia sappan L.) is a plant that can be used as a traditional medicine to treat tuberculosis, diarrhea, dysentery, skin infections, anemia, and several other diseases. Sappanwood containing brazilin as the main compound which has antioxidant properties. The main compound of sappanwood can be presented in the form of products such as syrup. The syrup is practical and makes it easy for consumers to get the functional properties of brazilin. The process of making syrup used boiling method. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of boiling time on the inhibition of free radicals, viscosity and sensory sappanwood syrup. Sappanwood extraction with maceration method using water. The making of sappadwood syrup used additional material cinnamon, lemongrass, ginger, and clove boiled with water and sugar until it thickens. Syrup boiling time is 60, 90, and 120 minutes at a temperature of 60-70°C with three replications. Then the syrup is tested for inhibition using the DPPH method, viscosity, and sensory. Data analysis techniques using Microsoft Excel software. The results showed that boiling time resulted in a decrease in inhibition of free radicals, where the initial inhibition was 56,644% to 28,803%, 22,776% and 29,593%. The viscosity of the sappanwood syrup increases with the length of boiling time. Based on sensory tests, the level of panelist preference is influenced by the length of boiling. Panelists prefer syrup that is boiled for 90 minutes for the parameters of taste, color, and thickness while for the scent panelists like syrup that was boiled for 120 minutes.

Abstract

Objective:  This study is to analyze the factors that cause the high mortality rate of pregnant women with preeclamsia in the Klareyan Health Center, Pemalang RegencyMethods:  This research is descriptive qualitative with a retrospective case study approach. The data were collected through interview guides that had been conducted through in-depth interviews. The data from the interviews are processed into data coding and then analyzed interactively.Results: The results of data analysis from coding obtained several themes related to the factors causing death of pregnant women with preeclampsia in the form of the following themes: maternal consumption patterns and daily life patterns during pregnancy, knowledge of mothers and families about preeclampsia during pregnancy, lack of role and support of families for pregnant women with preeclampsia, the role of puskesmas in providing health services is hampered by the behavior of pregnant women with preeclampsiaConclusion:  The factors causing the high mortality rate of pregnant women with preeclampsia at the Klareyan Public Health Center, Pemalang Regency are the mother's consumption pattern and daily lifestyle during pregnancy, knowledge of mothers and families about preeclampsia during pregnancy, lack of role and family support for pregnant women with preeclampsia, the role of puskesmas in providing health services is hampered by the behavior of pregnant women with preeclampsia.

Abstract

Background: Anemia is a condition where the blood hemoglobin level is <11 g/dl. Anemia is often experienced by mothers during pregnancy. The main cause of anemia in pregnant women is due to iron deficiency in the body. This study aims to determine what factors are the main causes of anemia in the working area of Ampel Health Center and Gladagsari Health Center. Poor nutritional status, parity, short pregnancy intervals are believed to be the biggest contributors to the incidence of anemia in pregnant women.Methods: This study used secondary data with a cross sectional design. Chi Square test is used in statistical testing. Study involved Ampel Health Center (193 samples) and Gladagsari Health Center (246 samples). The variables studied were the age of pregnant women, distance between pregnancies, parity, nutritional status, Antenatal Care and adherence to Fe tablet consumption.Results: The results showed that nutritional status (0.001), gestational distance (0.003), parity (0.032) and age of pregnant women (0.032) had a significant relationship with the incidence of anemia in Ampel Health Center < (0.05). Gladagsari Health Center samples showed different results where nutritional status (0.003), gestational distance (0.007), parity (0.005), adherence to Fe tablet consumption (0.049) and age of pregnant women (0.046) had a significant relationship with the incidence of anemia < (0, 05). Maternal nutritional status during pregnancy is the highest cause of anemia, many steps can be taken to improve the nutritional status of pregnant women, one of which is the provision of additional food.Conclusion: Education of health workers about the importance of consuming Fe tablets for women of childbearing age (WUS) and pregnant women and self-compliance play an important role in preventing anemia during pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: Anemia is a nutritional problem, the 2018 Riskesdas data shows 48.9% of adolescent girls experience iron deficiency anemia. The government has made efforts to overcome the problem of anemia in adolescent girls through the provision of blood-supplementation tablets (TTD).Methods: This research used is descriptive with a quantitative approach, using a 2x24 hour instrument record, and the SQ-FFQ form. This study assesses the level of iron adequacy by looking at the data from the evaluation of food consumption which is expressed by the value of MAR (Mean Adequacy Ratio).Result: The results showed that respondents in consuming iron tablets were in the non-adherent category as much as 65%, the level of iron adequacy in the very poor category was 42.5%, the level of macronutrient intake in 42.5% of respondents experienced a severe level of deficit and the food intake of respondents was less varied.Conclusion : The conclusion of this study is an evaluation of food consumption average has a weight deficit, the food consumed does not vary, iron intake is not sufficient according to the AKG, and is not obedient in consuming TTD.

Abstract

Atlet membutuhkan kalori untung menunjang peformanya. Foodbar bisa menjadi salah satu penyuplai kebutuhan kalori atlet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan foodbar yang diperntukan memenuhi kebutuhan kalori. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratoris dengan tahapan membuat formulasi foodbar kemudian dianalisis dengan data sekunder. Dihasilkan foodbar dengan ukuran 30 gr yang mengandung 146,5 Kkal. Foodbar tersebut bisa menjadi asupan untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan atlit sebelum, saat, dan setelah bertanding.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan suatu kondisi kegagalan pertumbuhan pada anak akibat kekurangan gizi kronis dan infeksi berulang, terutama pada masa 1.000 Hari Pertama Kehidupan (HPK). Stunting pada anak ditandai dengan tinggi badan yang lebih pendek dari standar usia. Gerakan penurunan stunting ini merupakan gerakan terpadu menuju cita-cita kebijakan nasional dan daerah. Maka penelitian ini membahas tentang upaya optimalisasi multipihak dalam percepatan penurunan stunting di Kota Salatiga. Dalam konteks ini, kerangka advokasi Covey dan Miller digunakan sebagai kerangkanya. Analisis Multi-Stakeholder menggunakan teori kajian Penta Helix dan pendekatan konsep 5K: kota/pemerintah, kampus, korporasi/perusahaan, komunitas, dan desa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan pengolahan data kualitatif dilakukan dengan metode advokasi menurut kerangka advokasi Covey dan Miller dengan penekanan pada sejarah kehidupan. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pencegahan stunting merupakan program prioritas di Kota Salatiga, dengan penekanan pada kolaborasi dan keterlibatan berbagai pemangku kepentingan atau multistakeholder. Data stunting Kota Salatiga menunjukkan prevalensi stunting pada tahun 2022 sebesar 6,21%, optimis menargetkan program zero stunting pada tahun 2024

Abstract

Red betel leaf (Piper crocatum) is a plant growing in tropical areas and previously known as an ornamental plant, but then later used as medicinal plant. Previous researches found that red betel leaves contain bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, and many more that have potential to be used as antioxidant. The extractions were carried out using variations of solvent types (ethanol, water, and ethyl acetate) and feed to solvent (F:S) ratios in g/ml (F:S=1:20, F:S=1:25, F:S=1:30). The best conditions from this research were the usage of ethanol as the solvent. In addition to its ability to extract the compounds potential as antioxidant and F:S ratio of 1:30, it could give highest yield of extract. Variation of solvent type and variation of F:S have significant effect on the value of antioxidant activity (IC50) of the red betel leaf sample.

Abstract

First nutritional intake supplied to newborn infants is exclusive breast milk because it contains a lot of nutrients and it is supplied for 6-month-old children without adding weaning foods. Global Nutrition Report (GNR) report in 2014 stated that Indonesia was included in 117 countries that had three highest nutritional problems in children, namely stunting (37.2%), wasting (12.1%), and overweight (11.9%). The result of Riskesdas prevalence in 2013 regarding to nutritional status of children in Papua Province was undernutrition (21.9%) while in Jayapura there were malnutrition (3.4%) for toddlers and undernutrition (17.8%). The purpose of the research was to analyze the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding with foods intake and nutritional status of 6-to-12-month-old children in the working area of Hamadi Primary Health Care in the city of Jayapura. Quantitative research methods with cross sectional study design using the spearman rank test were done which exclusive breastfeeding as independent variable, food intake and nutritional status as dependent variables. Statistical test results showed that there was no relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and nutritional status with parameter p = 0.658, there was no relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and food intake (TKE p = 0.335), (TKP p = 0.626), (TKL p = 0.715), (TKK p = 0.980), there was a relationship between food intake and nutritional status (TKE p = 0.050), (TKP p = 0.041), (TKL p = 0.032), (TKK p = 0.049). The conclusion of this research is either exclusive or non-exclusive breastfeeding children have the same nutritional status and food intake, while children's food intake affects nutritional status of children.

Abstract

Breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis) are often used as ingredients of traditional medicine for treatment so it is recommended as a natural alternative medicine for patients with liver disease such as hepatitis. The purpose of this study is the use of breadfruit leaf extract for making syrup as a functional drink for people with hepatitis and see the panelists acceptance of the products made. Tests carried out were tests of the total content of flavonoid compounds and sensory tests on breadfruit leaf syrup. The results showed the highest total content of flavonoid compounds found in the leaves of breadfruit syrup PM (warming) 60 minutes amounted to 290.00 µgQe/mL and PM 90 amounted to 263.33 µgQe/mL while the lowest for the breadfruit leaf syrup PM 30 amounted to 240.00 µgQe/mL. The flavonoid content of all treatments showed a high amount. Based on a sensory test, the panelists preferred the syrup leaves of breadfruit PM 90 with average of 7.01. Therefore, of the three roots, PM 90 was the treatment recommendation. But to know the healing effect more than the consumption of flavonoids in syrup breadfruit leaves against hepatitis patients need to be tested in vivo.

Abstract

Kekurangan Energi Kronis (KEK) merupakan keadaan dimana ibu mengalami kekurangan makanan yang berlangsung menahun yang mengakibatkan timbulnya gangguan kesehatan pada ibu. KEK disebabkan oleh ketidakseimbangan asupan gizi seperti energi dan protein. Ibu hamil yang menderita KEK mempunyai risiko melahirkan bayi dengan berat bayi lahir rendah (BBLR) dan berisiko melahirkan bayi stunting. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat status pertumbuhan bayi yang lahir dari ibu dengan riwayat KEK di Salatiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif deskriptif yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli - Agustus 2019 dengan populasi seluruh ibu dengan kejadian KEK pada Januari-Desember 2018 di 6 puskesmas se-Kota Salatiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan sumber data sekunder berupa buku Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (KIA) dengan instrumen formulir check list yang digunakan untuk menyalin data dari buku KIA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 94,7% bayi lahir dengan berat badan 2500-4000 gram dan 5,3% memiliki BBLR. Berdasarkan panjang badan saat lahir, 86,2% bayi memiliki panjang badan lahir 46-49 cm, 8,5% lahir pendek dan 5,3% lahir tinggi. Status pertumbuhan bayi sekarang menunjukkan bahwa 98,9% memiliki status gizi baik dan tinggi badan normal. Kesimpulannya bayi yang lahir dari ibu dengan riwayat KEK semasa kehamilan sebagian besar memiliki status pertumbuhan yang normal. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan untuk melihat pengaruh kejadian KEK terhadap perkembangan bayi. Kata kunci: Ibu hamil, Kekurangan Energi Kronis, Status Gizi
