Abstract

Sustainable fisheries resource management is a major challenge, especially in a maritime country like Indonesia, which has abundant fisheries potential but often experiences problems such as overfishing and ecosystem damage. Community participation, education level, access to information, government policy support, and the existence of local institutions are believed to influence the effectiveness of such management. This study aims to analyze the influence of these factors on the effectiveness of fisheries resource management. The method used is multiple regression to identify the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables. The results of the study indicate that all factors studied have a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of fisheries resource management, with community participation and access to information having a very large influence. This study provides important insights for policy makers to strengthen these factors in order to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of fisheries resource management

Abstract

Abstract: The Lubuk Tempurung Indah Fish Farming Group mainly cultivates tilapia. Since the last 5 years, agricultural land and fish farms in Kuranji Village have been disappearing and replaced by housing complexes. This has caused production from farmers and fish farmers to decline. To overcome this problem, the solution designed is skills training on the technical aspects of BUDIKDAMBER or fish farming in a bucket with a hydroponic system at the top. Assistance in BUDIKDAMBER and hydroponic business management starting from planning, organizing, directing to supervising the products produced and assistance in product marketing through improving marketing strategies by utilizing internet networks or websites (e-commerce). The result of this activity is the emergence of new products resulting from the diversification of the application of Budikdamber science and technology, namely live stalls (vegetables and fruits) and growing TOGA (family medicinal plants) and catfish from Budikdamber. The formation of business management ranging from planning, organizing, directing to supervising the products produced. Partners are able to make well-organized financial and administrative bookkeeping, and are able to market products utilizing the internet network or website (e-commerce).Keywords: BUDIKDAMBER, Hydroponics, Marketing, Business Development. Abstrak: Kelompok Budidaya Ikan Lubuk Tempurung Indah sebagian besar hanya membudidayakan ikan nila. Sejak 5 tahun terakhir lahan pertanian dan budidaya ikan di Kelurahan Kuranji semakin menghilang dan berganti dengan komplek perumahan. Ini menyebabkan produksi dari petani dan pembudidaya ikan semakin menurun. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut solusi yang dirancang adalah pelatihan keterampilan pada aspek teknis BUDIKDAMBER atau budidaya ikan dalam ember dengan sistem hidroponik di bagian atasnya. Pendampingan dalam manajemen usaha BUDIKDAMBER dan hydroponic mulai dari perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengarahan hingga pengawasan terhadap produk yang dihasilkan dan pendampingan pada pemasaran produk melalui peningkatan stategi pemasaran dengan memanfaatkan jaringan internet atau website (e-commerce). Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah munculnya produk baru hasil diversifikasi penerapan IPTEK Budikdamber yaitu warung hidup (sayur dan buah-buahan) dan menanam TOGA (tanaman obat keluarga) serta lele hasil Budikdamber. Terbentuknya manajemen usaha mulai dari perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengarahan hingga pengawasan terhadap produk yang dihasilkan. Mitra mampu membuat pembukuan keuangan dan administrasi yang tertata baik, dan mampu memasarkan produk memanfaatkan jaringan internet atau website (e-commerce).Kata kunci: Budikdamber, Hidroponik, Pemasaran, Pengembangan Usaha.

Abstract

Abstract: Lobster is a high-value commodity in West Sumatra Province with great potential for export. However, fluctuations in lobster prices, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, and exchange rates affect export demand and supply. This study aims to analyze the effect of prices, GDP, and exchange rates on lobster export volume using a simultaneous approach. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a simultaneous equation model involving two equations, namely lobster export demand and supply. Data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and other official sources for the period 2017-2023. The results of the study indicate that lobster prices have a negative effect on export demand, while GDP and exchange rates have a positive effect. Increasing prices encourage lobster supply, but increasing prices of substitute goods have a negative effect on supply. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of price policies, economic stability, and exchange rates in determining the success of lobster exports from West Sumatra Province.  Keywords: Simultaneous Approach; Export; Lobster; Price; GDP Abstrak: Lobster adalah komoditas bernilai tinggi di Provinsi Sumatera Barat dengan potensi besar untuk ekspor. Namun, fluktuasi harga lobster, pertumbuhan Produk Domestik Bruto (GDP), dan nilai tukar (kurs) mempengaruhi permintaan dan penawaran ekspor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh harga, GDP, dan kurs terhadap volume ekspor lobster menggunakan pendekatan simultan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan model persamaan simultan yang melibatkan dua persamaan, yaitu permintaan dan penawaran ekspor lobster. Data diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik, Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan, serta sumber resmi lainnya untuk periode 2017-2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa harga lobster berpengaruh negatif terhadap permintaan ekspor, sementara GDP dan kurs berpengaruh positif. Peningkatan harga mendorong penawaran lobster, namun kenaikan harga barang substitusi berpengaruh negatif terhadap penawaran. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya kebijakan harga, stabilitas ekonomi, dan nilai tukar dalam menentukan keberhasilan ekspor lobster dari Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Kata kunci:  Simultaneous Approach; Ekspor; Lobster; Harga; GDP

Abstract

Abstract: The processed products produced by POKLAHSAR BALI are only dried fish products whose skills have been passed down from generation to generation. Dried fish produced by partners has a high-water content so it is easily damaged and partners use a high salt concentration to extend the shelf life of dried fish products. This PkM activity aims to increase the capacity of women processing dried fish through training in hygienic processing techniques, product diversification and business management. This program involves socialization, training in making new processed products such as shredded meat, crackers, nuggets and fish balls, as well as assistance in better business planning and organization. Partners are also equipped with digital marketing skills through e-commerce and social media to expand market reach, increase sales and adapt to technological developments. Apart from that, assistance in obtaining DEPKES permits and partnerships with the Padang City Cooperative strengthen the sustainability of the group's business. The results of the program show an increase in technical, management and marketing skills which are expected to increase income, maintain food security and strengthen POKLAHSAR BALI competitiveness in the dried fish processing industry.Keyword: Hygienic Processing; Product Diversification; Business Management Abstrak: Produk olahan yang dihasilkan oleh POKLAHSAR BALI hanyalah produk ikan kering yang keterampilan didapatkan dari turun temurun. Ikan kering yang dihasilkan oleh mitra memiliki kadar air yang tinggi sehingga mudah rusak dan mitra menggunakan konsentrasi garam yang tinggi untuk memperpanjang umur simpan produk ikan kering. Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas ibu-ibu pengolah ikan kering melalui pelatihan teknik pengolahan yang higienis, diversifikasi produk, dan manajemen usaha. Program ini melibatkan sosialisasi, pelatihan pembuatan produk olahan baru seperti abon, kerupuk, nugget, dan bakso ikan, serta pendampingan dalam perencanaan dan pengorganisasian usaha yang lebih baik. Mitra juga dibekali keterampilan pemasaran digital melalui e-commerce dan media sosial untuk memperluas jangkauan pasar, meningkatkan penjualan, dan adaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi. Selain itu, pendampingan dalam pengurusan izin DEPKES dan kemitraan dengan Koperasi Kota Padang memperkuat keberlanjutan usaha kelompok. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan teknis, manajemen, dan pemasaran yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pendapatan, menjaga ketahanan pangan, dan memperkuat daya saing POKLAHSAR BALI dalam industri pengolahan ikan kering.Kata kunci: Pengolahan Higienis; Diversifikasi Produk; Manajemen Usaha

Abstract

Abstract: Processed products made from Bilih fish typical of Lake Singkarak produced by POKLAHSAR Jaso Danau until now sales only rely on buyers from tourists from Lake Singkarak, while the number of tourists cannot be predicted. It often happens when the accumulation of unsold production stock due to the lack of tourists causes the product to smell rancid because it has been produced for too long. This is because the bilih fish processors have not been able to process bilih fish into other products that are more durable. The solution efforts offered in this community service activity are providing skills training on the technical aspects of food security, good bilih fish processing and food sanitation hygiene, providing skills training in diversifying products in the form of making bilih fish floss and bilih fish crackers, assistance in compiling business management starting from planning, organizing, directing to supervising the products produced and assistance in marketing products through improving marketing strategies by utilizing the internet network or website (e-commerce). This activity produces new products from diversification, namely bilih fish floss and bilih fish crackers. Establishment of business management starting from planning, organizing, directing to supervision of the products produced. Keyword: Bilih Fish, Tourists, Food Security Abstrak: Produk olahan berbahan dasar Ikan bilih khas Danau Singkarak yang dihasilkan oleh POKLAHSAR Jaso Danau hingga saat ini penjualan hanya mengandalkan pembeli dari wisatawan danau Singkarak, sedangkan banyak sedikitnya wisatawan tidak dapat diprediksi kedatangannya. Sering kali terjadi ketika penumpukan stok produksi yang tidak terjual karena sepinya wisatawan yang berkunjung mengakibatkan produk menjadi bau tengik karena sudah terlalu lama diproduksi. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena para pengolah ikan bilih belum mampu mengolah ikan bilih menjadi produk lain yang lebih tahan lama. Upaya solusi yang ditawarkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pemberian pelatihan keterampilan pada aspek teknis ketahanan pangan pengolahan ikan bilih yang baik dan hygiene sanitasi makanan, pemberian pelatihan keterampilan dalam melakukan diversifikasi produk berupa pembuatan abon ikan bilih dan kerupuk ikan bilih, pendampingan dalam penyusunan manajemen usaha mulai dari perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengarahan hingga pengawasan terhadap produk yang dihasilkan dan pendampingan dalam pemasaran produk melalui peningkatan stategi pemasaran dengan memanfaatkan jaringan internet atau website (e-commerce). Kegiatan ini mengahsilkan produk baru hasil diversifikasi yaitu abon ikan bilih dan kerupuk ikan bilih. Abstract

Nirwana Beach is one of the leading coastal tourism destinations in Padang City, offering significant potential for development as an educational and sustainable tourism area. However, the management of this area still faces various challenges, such as low community participation, limited environmental education facilities, and the lack of integration of conservation programs into tourism activities. This study aims to analyze conservation and environmental education strategies at Nirwana Beach to support sustainable coastal area management. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach using questionnaires with 100 respondents, supported by field observations and interviews with key informants. Data were analyzed descriptively and then followed by a SWOT analysis approach. The results showed that tourist awareness and concern for the environment were high (score >4.0), but educational facilities and community involvement were still limited. The SWOT analysis resulted in a total score of strengths (1.30), weaknesses (0.35), opportunities (1.22), and threats (0.52), placing conservation and education strategies in Quadrant I (aggressive strategies). The main recommended strategies include developing educational programs based on direct experience, providing environmental information facilities, involving local communities, and promoting the area as an environmentally friendly tourism destination. With its dominant potential strengths and opportunities, this area needs to be managed through multi-stakeholder synergy to create a tourist destination that is not only economically attractive, but also contributes to environmental conservation and public education

Abstract

Indonesia's coastal areas boast high biodiversity, yet their communities still face economic constraints. Turtle conservation has the potential not only as a conservation effort but also as a basis for economic empowerment of coastal communities. This study aims to identify forms of community involvement in turtle conservation that impact economic welfare; and to develop strategies for economic empowerment of coastal communities based on turtle conservation through a participatory and collaborative approach. The study was conducted in Apar Village, Pariaman City, using exploratory descriptive quantitative methods using SWOT analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate active community involvement in conservation activities such as nest monitoring, hatchling releases, tourism education, and souvenir production, which have begun to have positive economic impacts. The SWOT analysis indicates the strategy's position in the Strength–Opportunity (SO) quadrant with a difference score of +1.79 (internal) and +1.58 (external). This indicates that community strengths can be utilized to seize opportunities for conservation-based economic development. Suggested strategies include integrated ecotourism development, entrepreneurship training, strengthening local institutions, and cross-stakeholder collaboration. This study concludes that turtle conservation in Apar Village has dual potential as an instrument for environmental conservation and a driver of the local economy in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Abstract: This community service program was implemented with POKLAHSAR BALI, a fisheries MSME in Ulak Karang Utara, Padang City, whose members are mostly women and coastal youth. The main problems identified were traditional production methods, unstructured business management, and marketing dependence on collectors, limiting added value. The program aimed to improve production capacity, strengthen business governance, and develop a website-based digital marketing strategy. A participatory-collaborative approach was applied through socialization, technical training, technology implementation, mentoring, and continuous evaluation. Innovations introduced included production SOPs, logbooks and simple bookkeeping, a gas-fueled drying oven, development of the website www.sejala.org, QR Code integration on packaging, and activation of social media and marketplaces. Evaluation showed significant improvements in partner skills, with average scores increasing from 2.7 to 4.0, particularly in business recording and digital marketing. Economically, average income rose by 25% and digital sales volume doubled. Sustainability was strengthened through cooperation with the Merah Putih Cooperative and regular coaching from the Padang City Marine and Fisheries Office, thereby enhancing the economic independence of coastal women and youth. Abstrak: Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan bersama POKLAHSAR BALI, sebuah UMKM perikanan di Ulak Karang Utara, Kota Padang, yang mayoritas anggotanya perempuan dan remaja pesisir. Permasalahan utama mitra meliputi metode produksi tradisional, manajemen usaha yang belum tertata, serta pemasaran yang bergantung pada pengepul sehingga nilai tambah terbatas. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, memperkuat tata kelola usaha, dan mengembangkan strategi pemasaran digital berbasis website. Metode partisipatif-kolaboratif diterapkan melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan, dan evaluasi berkelanjutan. Inovasi yang diperkenalkan meliputi SOP produksi, penggunaan logbook dan pembukuan sederhana, oven pengering berbahan bakar gas, pengembangan website www.sejala.org, integrasi QR Code pada kemasan, serta aktivasi media sosial dan marketplace. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan mitra dengan skor rata-rata naik dari 2,7 menjadi 4,0, terutama pada pencatatan usaha dan pemasaran digital. Secara ekonomi, pendapatan meningkat rata-rata 25% dan volume penjualan digital dua kali lipat. Keberlanjutan program diperkuat melalui kerjasama dengan Koperasi Merah Putih dan pembinaan rutin Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Kota Padang, sehingga mampu mendukung kemandirian ekonomi perempuan dan remaja pesisir. Abstract

Abstract: This program aims to transform processed bilih fish products from Lake Singkarak through business digitalization to enhance tourism appeal and increase the added value of local food products. The partner, POKLAHSAR Jaso Danau in Nagari Tikalak, Solok Regency, experienced a 35% decline in sales turnover over the past two years due to limited digital marketing and reliance on conventional sales. In addition, production capacity could only meet about 60% of market demand, with inconsistent product quality caused by the absence of written SOPs. The program was implemented using a participatory approach through stages of socialization, technical training, innovation adoption, and mentoring. The main focus included the development of production SOPs, logbooks and digital bookkeeping, organizational structuring, and digital marketing strategies using websites, QR Codes, and social media. The results revealed significant improvement in five key aspects: business recording, production, distribution, branding, and digital marketing. The average score increased from 2.7 (fair) in 2024 to 4.0 (good) in 2025, with the highest achievement in business recording and digital marketing through the activation of an official website and marketplace integration. This transformation demonstrates that digitalization of local food MSMEs not only improves product quality and consistency but also expands distribution channels, strengthens competitiveness, and supports the achievement of the SDGs, particularly women’s empowerment, poverty alleviation, economic growth, and sustainable consumption and production. Mitra kegiatan adalah POKLAHSAR Jaso Danau di Nagari Tikalak, Kabupaten Solok, yang mengalami penurunan omzet hingga 35% dalam dua tahun terakhir akibat keterbatasan pemasaran digital dan masih mengandalkan penjualan konvensional. Selain itu, kapasitas produksi hanya mampu memenuhi sekitar 60% permintaan pasar, dengan kualitas produk sering tidak konsisten karena ketiadaan SOP tertulis. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, penerapan inovasi, dan pendampingan. Fokus utama meliputi penyusunan SOP produksi, logbook dan pembukuan digital, pembentukan struktur organisasi, serta strategi pemasaran berbasis website, QR Code, dan media sosial. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan signifikan pada lima aspek utama: pencatatan usaha, produksi, distribusi, branding, dan pemasaran digital. Skor rata-rata naik dari 2,7 (cukup) pada 2024 menjadi 4,0 (baik) pada 2025, dengan capaian terbesar pada pencatatan usaha dan pemasaran digital melalui aktivasi website resmi dan integrasi marketplace. Transformasi ini membuktikan bahwa digitalisasi UMKM pangan lokal tidak hanya memperbaiki kualitas dan konsistensi produk, tetapi juga memperluas distribusi, memperkuat daya saing, serta mendukung pencapaian SDGs, khususnya pemberdayaan perempuan, pengentasan kemiskinan, pertumbuhan ekonomi, dan konsumsi-produksi berkelanjutan.
