Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of integrating the Iceberg Analysis and the U-Process as a pedagogical framework to promote religious moderation in a multifaith Indonesian secondary school. Given the rising concern over religious intolerance and youth vulnerability to radical ideologies in pluralistic societies, the study addresses the urgent need for reflective and participatory learning approaches that can transform attitudes and behaviours. Employing a mixed-methods design, the research involved 100 students of different religious and ethnic backgrounds at SMA Negeri 1 Barus Jahe, North Sumatra. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, questionnaires, classroom observations, and student reflections. Thematic and statistical analyses revealed significant improvements in students’ understanding, awareness, and enactment of religious moderation values, with average cognitive scores increasing from 55 to 81.5 and behavioural awareness from 48.75 to 78.25. These findings suggest that integrating the Iceberg Analysis and U-Process facilitates cognitive development and deep emotional and ethical internalisation of interfaith values. The study contributes to religious education by proposing a culturally contextualised and empirically validated model that bridges conceptual understanding and real-world practice. Its originality lies in synthesising two transformative learning approaches into a unified pedagogical strategy tailored for pluralistic and multicultural settings, with practical implications for curriculum design, teacher training, and interfaith peacebuilding.

Abstract

Pendidikan adalah fondasi kemajuan suatu bangsa, dengan peran guru yang krusial dalam membentuk karakter dan keterampilan individu. Namun, tantangan dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru sering menjadi penghalang. Strategi kepala sekolah menjadi kunci dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan meningkatkan mutu pendidikan. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru Pendidikan Agama Katolik di SMA Santo Antonius Bangun Mulia. Penelitian ini dilakukan dnegan Metode kualitatif melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah menerapkan beberapa strategi utama: dukungan untuk pelatihan eksternal, supervisi akademik langsung dan melalui umpan balik siswa, serta evaluasi rutin kinerja guru dengan lembar penilaian terstruktur. Observasi menunjukkan bahwa kinerja guru PAK sudah baik, memenuhi standar dengan perencanaan pembelajaran yang terstruktur, penguasaan materi, interaksi efektif dengan siswa, serta penggunaan media dan metode pembelajaran yang variatif. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya peran kepala sekolah dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan mendukung peningkatan kinerja guru.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya pendidikan dalam membentuk karakter, moralitas, dan Iman individu serta masyarakat secara keseluruhan. Dalam konteks ini, guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) memainkan peran kunci dalam memotivasi peserta didik untuk mengembangkan iman mereka. Selain sebagai pengajar, guru PAK juga menjadi teladan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, mencerminkan nilai-nilai Kristiani. Pengembangan iman peserta didik dilakukan melalui berbagai cara, seperti doa rutin, menunjukkan kasih kepada sesama, dan partisipasi dalam perayaan liturgi. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi guru PAK meliputi pengembangan iman, pengajaran moral, dan memberi waktu untuk refleksi spiritual. Mereka juga mengintegrasikan iman dalam pembelajaran dan mendorong partisipasi dalam pelayanan masyarakat. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Subjek penelitian dipilih menggunakan metode snowball sampling, dimulai dari sampel kecil yang kemudian berkembang menjadi lebih besar.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah agar peserta lebih memahami masalah psikologi yang mereka alami, khususnya masalah gangguan emosi dengan aspek depresi, kecemasan, dan panik. Setelah itu mereka mendapatkan solusi untuk menurunkan tingkat gangguan emosi tersebut. Solusi yang ditawarkan dalam kegiatan PKM ini adalah berupa hipnoterapi dengan tehnik The Heart Tecknique. Guna mengetahui berhasil tidaknya terapi ini, tim PKM melakukan pengujian berupa pretes dan postes. Peserta dalam PKM ini adalah 30 siswa Kelas XI SOS 1 SMA Swasta RK Serdang Murni Lubuk Pakam Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara. Instrumen pretes dan postes disusun dalam bentuk questioner berisi indikator tentang gejala gangguan depresi, kecemasan, dan panik. Masing-masing aspek tersebut terdiri atas 16 item pernyataan dengan skala likert 5 opsi. Hasil olah data pretes postes dengan aplikasi Excel dan SPSS menunjukan bahwa terdapat penurunan tingkat gangguan emosi peserta secara signifikan. Selain itu Hasil postes juga menunjukkan bahwa gangguan emosi siswa mayoritas berada pada katogori sedang dan rendah. Berbeda dengan hasil pretes.

Abstract

This training aims to identify the understanding of Catholic youth at St. Peter and Paul Parish, Kabanjahe, regarding Successful Business Planning Strategies in relation to Product Management and Business Success Factors. The training was conducted through the stages of planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The products produced by the training participants were categorized as Good, with an average score of 377. The comprehension test showed a t-statistic value of 4.652 for the influence of Successful Business Planning Strategies on Product Management, and 15.960 for Business Success Factors, both exceeding the established t-table value. These results indicate that this community service activity plays an important role in enhancing Catholic youth’s understanding of business strategies and success, which is expected to support economic self-sufficiency at St. Peter and Paul Parish, Kabanjahe.

Abstract

This study aims to map the implementation of children’s and adolescents’ faith formation at Saint Hieronimus Pinem Station using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model within a qualitative descriptive approach. In this research, the CIPP model is applied as an analytical framework rather than a quantitative measurement tool. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the real conditions influencing the faith formation program. The findings show that the program still faces several challenges, including low parental involvement, the influence of digital technology, limited human resources, and traditional teaching methods. The study recommends continuous needs assessment, structured planning, and creative pastoral methods suited to the local context. The qualitative CIPP model proves effective in systematically analyzing and improving pastoral programs according to real community needs.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of evaluating the pedagogical and professional competencies of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) teachers in improving learning quality. The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of teacher competencies based on the Kirkpatrick Model, which includes four evaluation levels: reaction, learning, behavior, and result. This study employs a qualitative approach with an evaluation research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation. The findings reveal that at the reaction level, students showed positive responses toward interactive and contextual learning. At the learning level, teachers demonstrated the ability to design instruction based on students’ needs through diagnostic assessment. At the behavior level, teachers consistently applied adaptive, inclusive, and student-centered teaching strategies. At the result level, there was an observable improvement in student engagement and understanding. The discussion indicates that the pedagogical and professional competencies of PAK teachers are effectively implemented, although further enhancement is needed in instructional innovation and process-based assessment optimization.
