Abstract

Pembelajaran pada umumnya masih berpusat pada guru dengan menggunakan metode ceramah yang mengakibatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan komunikasi siswa kurang berkembang. Model Problem Based Learning membantu siswa untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan berkomunikasi. Pembelajaran PBL sangat tepat apabila didasarkan pada Socio-Scientific Issue (SSI) yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penerapan PBL berbasis SSI terhadap pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis, komunikasi, dan hasil belajar kognitif pada konsep keanekaragaman hayati kelas X-MIPA SMAN 1 Ciawigebang. Penelitian quasi eksperimental ini menggunakan desain posttest only control group design dengan populasi sebanyak 4 kelas. Sampel sebanyak 2 kelas menggunakan teknik probability sampling jenis cluster random sampling. Kelas X-MIPA I sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-MIPA II sebagai kelas kontrol. Data berupa kemampuan berpikir kritis, komunikasi tertulis dan verbal serta hasil belajar kognitif. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t test. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model PBL berbasis SSI berpengaruh terhadap pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis, komunikasi tertulis dan verbal serta hasil belajar kognitif. Penerapan model PBL berbasis SSI dapat dikembangkan lebih baik lagi dengan merancang LKS minimal satu minggu sebelum pelaksanaan disertai lebih dari satu media pembelajaran serta hasil belajar mencakup aspek afektif dan psikomotor.   Learning is still centered on the teacher by using lecture method that resulted in not developed enough to critical thinking skills and communication students. PBL helps students develop critical thinking and communication skills. PBL learning is based on SSI associated with the student's daily life. This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of PBL based SSI to develop critical thinking, communication, and cognitive learning outcomes on biodiversity concept of X-MIPA SMAN 1 Ciawigebang. This quasi experimental study design using posttest only control group design with 4 class population. Samples were 2 classes using probability sampling techniques types of cluster random sampling. X-MIPA was an experimental class and X-MIPA II was the control class. Data was in the form of critical thinking skills, written and verbal communication and cognitive learning outcomes. Data analysis used the independent sample t test. Based on the result can be concluded that the application of the PBL based SSI influence on the development of critical thinking skills, written and verbal communication and cognitive learning outcomes. PBL based SSI application can develop be better by designing LKS at least one weeks earlier using more than instructional media and learning outcomes include affective and psychomotor.

Abstract

The application of 2013 curriculum had teacher to do scientific oriented learning. In fact, scientific oriented learning has not been applied fully in real life. Some obstacle factors are the lack of facility and teacher preparation. This research aims for: (1) analyzing  facilities of biology laboratory and school environment, (2) analyzing the utilization of biology laboratory, (3) analyzing the utilization of school environment as learning source of biology subject for first semester of tenth grade students of senior high school. This is a descriptive qualitative research done in seven senior high schools in Jepara Regency. The subjects of this research are tenth grade biology teachers, tenth grade science major students, and vice headmaster (facility division). Data tabulation uses observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. Data triangulation uses source and method triangulation. Data analysis uses descriptive. Analysis result provides: 1) the laboratory facility in seven senior high schools in Jepara Regency can be included in “good: category even though  it does not fill all the standardization of Permendiknas Number 24, 2007; facility of school environment is in below good category, 2) the utilization of laboratory in biology learning for tenth grade in first semester is in good enough category, 3) the utilization of school environment in biology learning for tenth grade in first semester is in good category. Some factors that influence categories are management of facility, lesson plan made by teachers, teacher understanding about biology material in scientific approach, teachers and students customary to scientific approach, and time allocation.

Abstract

The ideal modern biotechnology is done by practicum. Practicum of plant tissue culture, especially in vitro germination, is intended to train students to perform aseptic activities according to tissue culture characteristics, but not to obtain substantial culture results. This study aims at test the effectiveness of alternative plant tissue culture techniques as a development of alternative plant tissue culture module to optimize science process skills and curiosity learning in high school. The research method uses the ADDIE instructional model. The data taken are in the form of the effectiveness of tissue culture techniques, module validity by media and material experts, module effectiveness seen from the value of science process skills and curiosity, the practicality of the module seen from the response of users namely teachers and students. The results showed that alternative plant tissue culture techniques were effectively used as practical material on the topic of tissue culture in high school to practice science process skills; the modules developed were considered very valid, effective, and practical; the developed modules had characteristics compiled based on simple research on culture network, equipped with images to clarify the practical process, equipped with observation tables as testing data that can guide students to find the concepts taught Based on these results the module is recommended, the use of modules for practicum must manage the time so that everything is in well condition of learning.

Abstract

MA Al Asror Semarang has a fern taxonomy garden that can be used for observing Plantae material, especially Pteridophyta, but doesn’t yet have a student’s worksheets that can direct the activity process. This study aims to develop student’s worksheets (LKS) based on a scientific approach and testing the validity, practicality and effectiveness. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model. Validity of student’s worksheets is obtained from media experts, practicality is measured by teacher and student responses and effectiveness is measured by student learning outcomes. The results show that the students’ worksheets was declared 'very valid' with an average score of 94.10%, 'very practical' by teachers and students responses with an average score of 82,66% and effective as a supplement for teaching materials because it can improve cognitive learning outcomes of students with N-gain of 0.58 (criteria 'medium') and optimize psychomotor learning outcomes of students with an average score of 86.34% (criteria 'very good' ). Based on the results of the study, scientific-based student’s worksheets by utilizing a fern taxonomy garden stated as worthy to be used as a supplement of teaching material for Plantae at the MA Al Asror Semarang.

Abstract

The development of Al-Qur'an and Hadith integrated guided inquiry student worksheets to improve students’ learning outcomes and religious character was carried out. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Al-Qur'an and Hadith integrated guided inquiry student worksheets in Askhabul Kahfi Junior High School Semarang in the academic year 2020/2021. In this study used research and development method, then the selected class was used for research, i.e class VII D as the control class and class VII B as the experimental class, involving 32 students in the experimental class and 32 students in the control class. The normality test analysis showed that the the data for both classes were normally distributed. The calculation of the similarity test for the both posttest data variances of the two classes had the same variance. The average posttest score of the control class was 79.06 and the experimental class was 82.08. The results of the t-test analysis showed a significant difference in the mean between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the results of the data analysis on the religious character of the students, the average value of the religious aspects in the experimental class had score of 3.59 in the very good category, and the control class had score of 3.27 in the good category, so it can be concluded that the experimental class has better religious character than the control class.

Abstract

Learning at SMA N 1 Wonotunggal, Batang Regency on the Plantae subject has not used learning resources in the form of taxonomy garden to observe plant characteristics directly. This study aims to analyze the validity, measure the effectiveness, and describe the practicality of plantae taxonomy garden as a contextual learning resource of plant subject. This study was designed using Research and Development approach and ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model which was tested on 30 students. The results showed (1) the validity of the plantae taxonomy garden is valid with an average score of 77.22%; (2) cognitive learning outcomes based on the N-Gain index of 0.76 which is in the high category and means very good in students' science process skills training with an average assessment score of 86.33%; (3) the response to the use of plantae taxonomy garden by students was 92.13% and teachers 93.18%. These results indicate that the plantae taxonomy garden is a valid resource of contextual learning, effectively improves learning outcomes, able to train students' science process skills, and practically used in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the plants species resources and the validity of Module according to the material experts, media experts, and teacher experts, to analyze the practicality, as well as the effectiveness of learning outcomes. This research used the R&D method. This research was conducted using the ADDIE method which was conducted at Islamic High School of Baitussalam involving 2 classes with 62 students in total. Descriptive data analysis was used. The results of the research on biodiversity in the Kreo Cave area which included the levels of genes, species, and ecosystems, found the results of each of the three levels of biodiversity totaling 24 types of plants which are the gene level 2 species, at the species level 7 species and at the ecosystem level at 15 species. The Module of plant species resources in the Kreo Cave area is theoretically feasible by means of validation sheets for material experts, media experts, and teacher experts with respective scores of 76%, 80%, and 81%, or are in the valid category. Student responses to the Module as a learning resource indicate that the Module is very valid. This is proven from the results of small-scale trials that reach an average value of 72% or are in good criteria. Student learning outcomes assessed during the learning process using Modules showed very good results. This is proven by the increase in students' cognitive from an average of 44.18 to 79.6..
