Abstract

Noni Fruit (Morinda citrifolia L.) contains polyphenols, flavonoids, saponins, which plays a role as an antioxidant. Noni fruit extract is formulated in gel dosage form for the comfortness and convenience of topical use. This research aims to obtain the optimum formula noni fruit gel which effective as an antioxidant. Gel formula was optimazed by method of Simplex Lattice Design (SLD). design-expert 8.0.6.1. Gel formula was preparated using CMC-Na base (A) and (B) Carbopol 940 so it was obtained 3 formula, i.e. F1 (100% A:0% B), F2 (50% A:50% B), F3 (0% A:100% B) and then was optimized based on physical properties of viscosity, adhesivity, power spread and the shift of viscosity. The SLD's equation was used to make the gel with the response a total of physical prop erties of the gel the most optimum. Optimum gel tested antioxidant activity by using DPPHmethod. Antioxidant activity the  maximum and operating time so the IC50 values were obtained through analysis of probit with the use of vitamin C as a comparison. The optimum formula of noni fruit extract gel obtained by SLD method was the formula contained CMC-Na 78,92% : carbopol 940 21,08% with the desirability value of 0,511. The t-test results of viscosity, power latched onto, power spread and the shift of viscosity shows no significant difference. The results demonstrated the optimum gel fruit noni had antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 92,875 ppm.

Abstract

Balm, a pharmaceutical product that is no stranger to the community, therefore, this product is one of the most potential commodities developed into a home industry that can improve the economy of the community. relatively simple balm formulation and easy in material, is very possible to be applied in the community. This article is a form of publication of community service that has been carried out on Tuesday, February 6, 2018,at RW XXII Bibis Luhur Kel. Nusukan Kec. Banjarsari Surakarta Central Java. This community service is entitled "training of sticks from herbal and pioneering industry as a home industry" which aims to provide understanding and skill through counseling, training, and application of herbal balsam in the form of sticks, and utilization in health by empowering natural resources optimally, produce new products, besides can be made for self-use, sticks balm is a product that is very much needed by the community, so it is possible to develop its production in the scale of home industry to improve the economy of the community.

Abstract

Emulgel is an emulsion of both O/W and W/O which is made into a gel by mixing it with a gelling agent. One of the gelling agents that is often used is HPMC because it can produce a clear gel, easily soluble in water, and has low toxicity. Nyamplung oil has wound healing activity by stimulating cell proliferation and the production of collagen and GAG (glycosaminoglycans). The purpose of this study was to find out that nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum L) oil can be made into a good emulgel preparation, has the effect of healing cuts, to determine the effect of variations in HPMC concentration on the physical quality and stability of the emulgel, and in accelerating the healing of cuts. This study used three formulas containing 1%, 2%, and 3% HPMC plus one control formula. Emulgel is made by mixing emulsion with gel and contains 1% nyamplung oil, then physical quality tests are carried out : organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, adhesion, dispersibility, viscosity test, emulgel type test, stability test. The wound healing activity test was carried out on the back of New Zealand rabbits. The percentage of treatment results were statistically analyzed. The results showed that all nyamplung oil emulgel formulas could be made ini emulgel preparations, had good physical quality and stability and had the effect of wound healing. The effect of gelling agent concentration affects the speed of wound healing. The result of the most optimal wound healing activity test is the formula 2.

Abstract

Sunlight is the main source of UV rays, exposure to UV rays can have a negative impact on human skin. These negative impacts can be prevented by using sunscreen. The effectiveness of sunscreen can be increased by combining UV filters and natural ingredients. This study aims to determine variations in the concentration of tamanu oil (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) in an emulgel preparation of a combination of tamanu oil and TiO2 which can provide protection as a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) with good physical quality and stability.Tamanu oil is made in 3 concentration variations of 10%; 15%; and 20% and combined with 7% titanium dioxide. Emulgel preparations as a whole were tested for physical quality and stability tests were carried out using the cycling test method. Testing of sunscreen activity in preparations was carried out in vitro using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 290-320 nm. The research results were processed statistically.The results of the sunscreen activity test for the emulgel preparation, a combination of tamanu oil and TiO2, showed that all formulas had activity as a sunscreen. The highest SPF value of the emulgel combination of tamanu oil and TiO2 was in formula 6 (20% oil and TiO2) of 9.6 and after the stability test the SPF formula 6 (20% oil and TiO2) was 9.0.

Abstract

Tanaman obat yang berperan dalam pengobatan luka bakar salah satunya adalah daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis) karena mengandung senyawa yang berfungsi sebagai penyembuh luka seperti flavanoid, tanin, saponin, dan polifenol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui variasi konsentrasi agen pembentuk gel kitosan dan carbomer 940 dalam mempengaruhi mutu fisik dan stabilitas serta kemampuan dalam penyembuhan luka bakar. Sediaan yang dipilih dalam bentuk gel karena komponen terbesar pembentuk gel air sehingga zat aktif mudah dilepaskan. Ekstrak kental diperoleh dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 70% kemudian diformulasikan menjadi sediaan gel dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 6,25%, dengan variasi kitosan 1,5%; 1%; 0,5% dan carbomer 1%; 1,5%; 2%. Gel dilakukan pengujian mutu fisik meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, daya sebar, daya lekat, dan stabilitas. Perlakuan dan pengukuran diameter luka dilakukan selama 21 hari. Persentase penyembuhan luka dianalisis menggunakan SPSS dengan uji Kolmogorov-smirnov dilanjutkan non-parametrik Kruskal-Wallis dengan Post Hoc Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukan variasi konsentrasi kitosan dan carbomer memberikan pengaruh terhadap mutu fisik sediaan dan kemampuan dalam penyembuhan luka, tetapi tidak dengan stabilitas sediaan. Variasi konsentrasi gelling agent yang efektif dalam penyembuhan luka bakar adalah formula 2, formula gel dengan konsentrasi kitosan 1% dan carbomer 1,5% hasil Maan-Whitney menunjukkan formula 2 memiliki persentase penyembuhan luka sebanding dengan kontrol positif.

Abstract

Aging is a natural event of living things caused by extrinsic factors, one of which is ultraviolet light. Aging causes human skin to become wrinkled. In this study, the formulation of an anti-aging cream preparation of betel leaf extract (Piper betle L.) and the anti-aging activity test on the back skin of white rabbits in New Zaeland will be carried out. In previous studies, researchers used extraction using methanol as a solvent. This study aims to determine the healing of wrinkles on the back skin of rabbits due to exposure to UV-A rays. The extraction method used is the maceration method. Betel leaf extract was tested for water content and chemical content. The betel leaf extract was made into a cream formulation and then tested for the physical quality of the cream, namely organoleptic, cream type, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, viscosity, and stability. Primary and ocular irritation test and anti-aging activity test were perfomed on the backs of 5 rabbits with 5 treatments. The skin on the rabbit’s back was smeared with negative control cream, positive control cream, betel leaf extract cream with variations of glycerin 5% propylene glycol 15%, glycerin 10% propylene glycol 10%, glycerin 15% propylene glycol 5%. The results of the study obtained that the yield of betel leaf extract was 12.04%. For stability results on cream of betel leaf extract, it was found that all physical quality tests were stable. The results of the irritation test using the Draize method showed that the betel leaf extract cream did not irritate the skin. Anti-aging activity test showed that betel leaf extract cream with various concentrations of glycerin 10% propylene glycol 10% and glycerin 5% propylene glycol 15% was the most effective in reducing wrinkles on the rabbit’s back skin

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a strategic role in the Indonesian economy. In the face of increasingly fierce competition, "Kedai Rasa" is faced with various challenges. One of the main challenges is creating a positive consumer perception of the taste of the product while building strong branding. UMKM "Kedai Rasa" is one of the main targets of Community Service (PKM) activities. This research uses descriptive methods with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Overall, Kedai Rasa has succeeded in meeting customer expectations with taste, innovation and adequate portions. To increase satisfaction, Kedai Rasa can continue to innovate its menu, maintain taste consistency, and adapt its offerings to a wider range of customer preferences.

Abstract

Jerawat merupakan kondisi permasalahan kulit akibat tersumbatnya pori-pori yang disertai dengan peradangan. Salah satu penyebab jerawat adalah bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat digunakan yaitu daun kemangi, pada ekstrak daun kemangi mengandung senyawa flavonoid, tannin, alkaloid, dan saponin yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri yang akan dibuat menjadi sediaan krim karena memiliki keunggulan seperti praktis dan mudah diaplikasikan pada wajah dengan menggunakan variasi nilai HLB untuk meihat pengaruh pada stabilitas dan mutu fisik sediaan krim. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimental. Pelarut etanol 96% digunakan untuk ekstraksi daun kemangi melalui metode maserasi. Ekstrak daun kemangi dibuat sediaan krim sebanyak 6 formula, kemudian dilakukan penguian organoleptik, homogenitas, viskositas, daya lekat, daya sebar, tipe emulsi, stabilitas, dan aktivitas dilakukan untuk menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Pengujian antibakteri dilakukan menggunakan metode sumuran. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan krim antibakteri ekstrak daun kemangi dan mengetahui pengaruh variasi nilai HLB emulgator span 60 dan tween 60 terhadap mutu fisik krim. Data dianalisis secara statistik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi emulgator span 60 dan tween 60 mempengaruhi hasil mutu fisik sediaan yaitu viskositas menurun sehingga daya sebar meningkat, dan daya lekat menurun dengan nilai sig < 0,05. Pada hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua sediaan memiliki hasil yang homogen dan memiliki tipe krim M/A. Formula 6 dengan HLB 12 pada perbandingan emulgator span 60 dan tween 60 (1,4% : 3,6%) memberikan stabilitas yang baik dan daya hambat bakteri paling besar diantara formula lainnya yaitu memiliki nilai rata-rata daya hambat 13,53mm dengan kategori sedang.

Abstract

Kejadian diabetes melitus di masyarakat Indonesia semakin meningkat, khususnya pada kelompok usia dewasa akibat gaya hidup dan pola konsumsi yang tidak sehat. Penggunaan herbal lokal sebagai alternatif terapi menjadi perhatian, salah satunya Kunyit Hitam (Curcuma caesia) yang potensial sebagai antidiabetes. Namun, pemanfaatan kunyit hitam di Dusun Belembem belum optimal karena minimnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman ibu-ibu RT 02 Belembem dalam memanfaatkan kunyit hitam sebagai herbal antidiabetes melalui pemaparan materi berbasis presentasi dan diskusi terbuka untuk mendorong literasi kesehatan yang mandiri. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan tingginya minat peserta terhadap pemanfaatan kunyit hitam, dengan mayoritas mengaku baru mengetahui manfaatnya setelah edukasi. Kegiatan ini berdampak signifikan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesiapan ibu-ibu dalam menjaga kesehatan keluarga menggunakan tanaman obat keluarga. Model pemberdayaan komunitas terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat pemanfaatan kearifan lokal untuk kesehatan keluarga serta mendukung ekonomi rumah tangga.
